Goli looked at Caliban when he asked a question. It almost didn't register within the tiny growlithe's mind. "I'm fine, just peachy." Still slightly out of it he was barely louder than a whisper. He started to look about noticing that others were still out in the water and on the other bank. It was peaceful just looking at everything. Goli's shakes finally end and he just sits there taking it all in. "Its going to be awhile before they all get over here isn't it?"

A cave? That is why it was so unnaturally dark and rocky. However it was unlike the cave he found near his home, even though he hardly ventured into it. He was calming down a bit. His golden eyes slipped closed trying to use his other senses. Water...He sensed water up ahead. He liked water plus all this traveling was making his skin itch. Finally he moved forward light bathed his dark with golden speckled skin. That was better. Leaving his eyes closed his inched towards the water before sniffing at it. It seemed safe enough no contaminates of what he could tell. Putting a foot in he licked the water, it also tasted fine.
Deming it was fine he jumped in after the caterpie. His spirits were quite raised with the water around him. "We can do it!" he called out to the Caterpie, his distressed self gone washed away with the water. Swimming over to the bug he attempted to help him swim across.

Chi looked to Rei as they followed everyone out. 'Well I-' she was cut off by the sight of the river. 'Oh no... what should we do?' she asked him as the Buizel appeared.
The fire type climbs onto one of the ferrying Buizel. It seems to be an easy enough ride so far.
"Yeah," Caliban grunted, watching the others continuing to swim and Buizel-boat across. He glanced scathingly at the inconsiderate Masquerain. "This expedition was not planned well at all. We'd be on the move by now if they'd thought ahead of how to get a dozen various Pokémon over this. Then again, it's one more defense."
Out of the corner of his eye, Caliban spotted an oddly shaped leaf beneath his paw. On a whim, he grabbed it and tucked it between his mushrooms.
Jax was quite happy when they emerged, smiling into the warming sunlight and losing her glow now that they were out of the cave. She smelled the fresh air and water, the next trouble spot in their path. "This Masquerain is an idiot...." She mumbles but wades into the water, paddling to keep up with Barneby. "Hey Barneby, ride on my back, you'll be safer." She offered, doggy paddling into the waves.
As she is paddling her leg cramps up and she uses her front paws to stay afloat. "Oh son of a Zangoose that hurts!!" She shouts, trying to carefully work out the cramp in her leg.

Cecil continued to bob in the water, enjoying himself to the fullest. He dove to get an idea on how deep the the river was. The mudkip continued to swim keeping a sense on the group he had joined up with. The second thing he had run into in the cave wasn't in the water. Truthfully the blind mudkip didn't know where it went, only to remember it said it would wait on the other side. The other two however he kept close by to see if they needed any help. He found another leaf while he was swimming and hung onto it with his mouth. It would be a great remembrance of this little adventure.

Caliban hesitated, but there was certainly no reason to distrust the Growlithe now. "I'm here on behalf of my tribe. We live in the Howling Forest, but there's nowhere there as secure as this Shaymin's Sanctum should be. We're looking for a home where we'll never have to see another human again."
As he shifted his weight, a leaf slid out from one forepaw and sent Caliban shoulder-first into the mud. "Pah!" He straightened himself irritably, brushing the mud from his creamy fur.
"And you?" the Leafeon asked, working at a tough clod of dirt with one claw. He supposed he was obligated to return the question.
Rei was as happy as the rest when they finally found the exit. There was a new spring in his step as they headed out, and the only thing keeping him from bolting ahead was the fact that Chi still needed his light to find solid footing. He stopped sparking as soon as there was enough sunlight to see clearly without it, and soon found it was just as well. There turned out to be a river ahead of them which would need to be crossed.
He was about to answer Chi's question - swimming across seemed the likely answer - when a new solution presented itself. Swimming still seemed a possibility, but so was getting a ride. Chi opted to get help from one of the friendly Buizels, and Rei decided to follow suit.
He tried to hold on to the aquatic pokemon as they set off, but he quickly slipped off and fell into the river with a splash. Fortunately the Buizel was rather quick and turned back to catch him, before Rei event had time to see if he could doggy paddle.

"I get it." He nodded. "Having a safe place to call home is what everyone deserves." He barely held back his laughter at watching Caliban slide into the mud. "I came out here to well, get away from my mundane life back at the peak of a mountain in the Rinaul Mountain chain." He thought back to the peaceful life at the peak. "I liked the mountain, but all I was doing there was just the same thing everyday. Get up with the sun, collect branches to make charcoal with, find berries, the usual things to just survive." He paused for a moment. "I remember the ending of the story my mom would tell me, "Everyday is only a stop in the journey that is life, so take heed and live it to the fullest." is what she would say." He smiled fondly remembering that time. "So I figured might as well go see the world and find out everything I can to take back home."

Rei tried to climb back onto the Buizel's back, but he was having a very rough time of it. Instead of regaining his perch, his feet kept slipping and in short order he lost his grip entirely. The Buizel had to turn around and managed to grab his ear, while Rei started to doggy paddle to get his head above water and steady himself.
"I feel like I've been fighting all my life," Caliban said, flexing his muscular shoulders. "I love a good fight. But I might be ready for something a bit... quieter, at least for a while." Perhaps it wouldn't take long for him to grow restless in a perfect sanctuary. And the same might be true of Anahera. Surely the elders would be happy to remain, and the two of them could leave.... And yet it was Anahera he most wanted to keep from the clutches of the humans.
The Leafeon closed his eyes and for a moment simply enjoyed the warmth of sunshine on his fur, the gentle breeze, the rustling of plants, and the lapping of the river. Even a slow, dull life might be all right, here, with her.
"We seem to be moving in opposite directions," Caliban told Goliath.

Rei continued to flail around, trying to grab onto the Buizel but failing miserably. He stopped for a moment and tread water, looking between the Buizel and the far shore. Maybe he'd have better luck trying to swim on his own?
Just as Jax was starting to get swimming again, a cramp seized up her other leg, causing her to cry out in pain. "Oh come on!! I Haven't eaten anything in hours!" She manages to stay afloat by paddling her front paws hard again, working the cramp out of her leg.
