Karothdra - Post #11

It was a curious thing to watch Saraf’s anger ready to burst; she’d taken him for such a conservative before. She eyed the Shifter before he was taken away, wondering what he could have done to ignite such a fierce emotion. Ah well, perhaps later. Karothdra turned and followed Nuri, eyes narrowing as they advanced towards the large group of Alkidike. Karo picked a target and stared the woman down, one little move, just one is all that was needed. It would be interesting to see if a war was going to break out or if parlays would do the trick.

Elsheba: Post 8
Elsheba may not have pleaded with Aisha for Nimueh's lotus, but she was his mother all the same, after taking care of him all this time. It wasn't a distinction that needed to be made in this case. She looked up at the older sister - Vollerei - and shook her head, lips raising in a weak, but determined grin. "You're right, sister, but I don't have to like it." She chuckled, then looked back towards the mass of extremists, the mystic and matron at the fore - speaking with a half-sister. Elsheba didn't listen - she just sat, waiting for it to blow up in their face. "My blood-sister is over there - my mothers too, most likely. Even if we succeed in pushing them back, what then?" She gnawed her lip, more in thought than anything, then looked back up to Vollerei again. "And if they succeed, we'll never be near mother Aisha again. These stakes make it hard to do the right thing, it seems.

Nimueh: Post 6
He'd been so blind, zeroing in on the woman that was his skin color, that Nim hadn't even realized there was a crowd. He looked up at them, rather suddenly, wide-eyed and suspicious, his lips curling into a frown. Hers? He blinked and looked up at the woman, but ultimately dismissed whatever it was the adults were talking about. Instead, as they chattered, he looked around the huge crowd of people, still hoping to spot his father, or a familiar face - without any luck. His massive family was nowhere to be seen - his mother, aunts, uncles, or grandparents were lost in the crowd, despite their alkidike blood that should make them tower over the shorter earthlings.

Nim's musing was cut short when a man knelt infront of him, speaking with him so warmly that the young earthling was startled, leaning back, but not recoiling from the doting treatment - he even took the opportunity to pet the brightly colored Kinfa with a trace of a smile breaking through his intensely pouty expression, nodding shyly at Dezani's instructions. Soon the man, and his kinfa, left, and Nim looked up to the ice woman again. He had hoped she might magically help him find his family, but ... at the least it was someone who didn't seem to mind him tagging along. At her questions he frowned and shook his head no. "With Papa, but.." His uncertain glance around was all it took to make clear that he was hopelessly lost. After initially tugging at her dress, Nimueh's hands had taken to nervously tugging at the cloth tunic his mother usually had him wear - but now he once again reached, this time to take Araie's hand. She'd said something about taking him somewhere, so he took a preemptive step forward, looking between the two women as he waited for a direction to start going. "I'm not safe? But it's my sisters out there." He complained, his eyebrows pinching in confusion. It was a distinction his father hadn't wanted to explain to him - in favor of keeping Nimueh moving, distracted with games or food.

Maya post 11

Shifting through the crowd was a bit easier with Kakkara then she had first assumed it would be. Not that she wasn't used to others giving the Janarim a strange look and some rather impressive distance, in her opinion. She had broken away from the main group and paced through the Alkidikes in turn for her daughter. As usual Maya didn't say much to the company she was keeping, she wasn't much for talking anyway, especially when she was so focused on finding Teiluj.

After having been turned away from the rest of Sauti, Maya had given up hope that she would be reunited with her daughter here. Ears twitching at the strange murmer in the sisters around her Maya cast her eyes about the crowd and listened. Apparently there was a strange earthling calling out for her. Pressing her brows together Maya leaned back to bring Kakkara to a stop. "We need to dismount. Well I need to, Kakkara wont let you stay on his back without me I'm afraid." Maya apologized to Ariya, waiting until the girl got off before pushing off the Janarim herself. It would probably be easier if she went in search of the earthling herself just as a precaution that it was another one of her past demons.

"If you don't mind, you could wait here or with Kakkara Ariya. I'm going to find out who and what the earthling wants." Motioning for Kakkara to stay put, Maya pushed her way through the throng of sisters until her eyes fell on the familiar earthling.

Speed was her advantage, rushing forward she laid one hand on his shoulder to turn him around to face her. "Shukri!?" Maya demanded struggling to refrain herself from embracing the earthling in the anxious crowd. "I don't believe it! You're ok, I'm so sorry that I had to leave so suddenly. I didn't think I would return to Sauti like this." She motioned to the people around her. "Where is Teiluj, is she with you? I've lost her somewhere along the way and I'm worried. They wont let me behind the- "

Maya gave a squeak of surprise as Kakkara pressed his nose into her back and a rumble formed in his throat. "Kakkara I told you to stay where you were! Ariya might not be comfortable out in this world on her own. It's her first time away from Aisha." Maya scolded though she knew it was a futile effort on her part. Kakkara didn't like anyone other than Maya, Teiluj and the young girls Oban friend. Maya still couldn't wrap her head around why the later was such a positive effect on the Janarim but she would leave that for later.

Resting her hands firmly on Shukri's shoulders giving a small shake. She could hardly contain her emotions, her expression changed to concern with mild irritation. "I'm glad your safe, but you shouldn't be here! Some of the sisters are angry, and some more have been riled up further by the fact that the earthling leaders aren't letting us in to help. I've seen a few even shift over to Join the Matron and the Mystic over this matter. You shouldn't linger to long for your own safety." Looking carefully over the mass once again Maya turned her gaze back to Shukri. "Can you do me a favor though, find Teiluj. I can't get back through the barrier to look for her. I need to know she's safe."

Painted Moose

Talisia 5

In a crowd of people she felt the most alone. The whole march had been tense with nerves as talks of possible attacks buzzed through the group. Each time such a rumor started Talisia had found herself reaching out for the warm fur of Silva, but her fingers only found empty air. She had as promised sent the raptrix out to find Dris'rynne's parents. It was better this way...she could stand up for herself and Silva didn't need to be worried with her well being.

Sauti was as she remembered it. The stay had been brief, but the feeling of being out of the rainforests were familiar. If she took a moment to let the breeze brush through her hair the hybrid could nearly feel the icy touch of Zena coming from afar. Was her mother participating in this mix? Surely not. Her twin may have been itching to fight though Talisia doubted he would have been allowed to leave. Still every time purple hued hair flickered into her vision she would find herself turning around. Another illusion. He would not be here.

Instead she found herself reaching out for another familiar figure, "Dris, how are things holding up over here?" As the sounds of an approaching enemy rang out around her the hybrid clenched at the sharp whip she had picked up. Hopefully Silva would be back on his way by now and she could fight sight by side with him. As much as she wanted to be strong to stand on her own the feeling of her familiar next to her gave her strength.

Still would she really be ready to fight?

Her hopes rested in the peace talks, but pessimism was always lingering nearby. It was unlikely that the fanatics would be reasoned with considering they had already come from so far.

Nyiim- post 10

Nyiim was half happy to see the young woman follow and half afraid for her. This was one heck of a battle to be starting with, and he had very little faith that it would not become a battle. He offered her a nod.

"How long is your range? It may not be a bad idea to stay by me if it is fairly long." Of course, during battle their positions would change, but he couldn't worry about that just now.

Vukasin- post 10

Ah, daggers. That might be much better. He offered another nod to the Oban woman and offered the Leaf woman her spare trident back. Maybe she'd need it. It was then he headed after his brother and family. He fell into line nearby a rather large, intimidating-looking Alkidike. Was she for or secretly against them? He was caught peering up at her, and turned away quickly.

Bhima- post 7

A fair cavalcade of shifters rumbled forth and Bhima watched them come. Some of them were so young, it seemed a terrible thing. One peered up at her. She could see the fear in his eyes. She could only offer him a ghost of a smile before he turned away. Perhaps she could keep an eye on the younger ones, the least-trained. This may be a great tragedy, but maybe there didn't have to be so much loss as against the Obans.

Gerraden Post 6

The hyrbdi watched silently as his mate rose up to see what was going on, despite everything he said he was quite nervous about these extremists. His mother in particular was rather upset at them as she had right to be since she had a hybrid son and loved an earthling man. Still it made him nervous, he hadn't seen his mother since she went to the islands for the festival and now...this was happening.

As Rishima addressed Aselia he watched how she coldly responded to him, and he tried his best to look non threatening. Even if her shortness with Rishima made him angry. When she got angry and flames licked onto the arrow shot at her he felt himself take a involuntary step forward. The desire to protect Rishima was over whelming, already others were brandishing their weapons...though he hadn't reached for his own yet, waiting for some que from Rishima first.

Jerarda Post 8

It had taken her quite awhile to get to Sauti, even now that she was no longer burdened she felt her sides aching for breath. The extremists had beat her here, and she spotted Rishima and Gerraden quite quickly amongst others in the crowd.

Aeslia and the matron seemed to be leading the charge though that charge was being halted as Rishima tried to talk with them. Sighing she felt sweat trickle down her body, causing her to shiver slightly. Antenna twitching she took a moment to gather some stamina back. Running the whole way here, with little to drink or eat she knew she wasn't in the best shape to be facing anyone. She strode to the healers tents where she gathered a water skin before she nearly drained it. Taking it with her she then went to approach Gerraden and Rishima as she wiped the sweat from her brow.

Takoda Post 7

The shifter gave a bit of a gasp as Jacinthus tightened his hold on him, though he knew he meant well it was hard to breath when the other had a death grip on him. It took him a moment to register what Jacinthus was saying to him. Where did he want to be? The answer seemed obvious to him, although it didn't appear to be for his mate. Looking up to the leaf earthling he gave a bit of a sigh,

"I was on the battle field last time..I shall go once again. I have gotten stronger since the last battle I will not fall so easily this time." He replied with a nod of his head. After all someone had to make sure that Jacinthus didn't get hurt, and if he did...he would be there to mend his wounds.

Keilana Post 7
It was probably a good thing that Chalcedony explained what he was doing with his shield else he may of gotten a hammer on the foot. The hot headed woman took offense easily it seemed and did not appreciate being considered weak. Shifting she gave him a look that seemed like weathered patience before she looked around. White knuckles held onto the shaft of her hammer as 'talks' seemed to become mere shouting matches.

"This isn't going anywhere good.." she mumbled under her breath, seeing as everyone had started to brandish weapons she wanted to push past Chal's shield and enter the foray.

"I don't understand why we are allowing this to go on...what are the elders doing?" She continued with a huff.

Chandra Post 6

Shaking his head he listened as the talks started to deteriorate. This seemed rather pointless, why was a hybrid trying to talk down an extremist anyway? They were pig headed and stuck in their ways...

Giving a snort he seemed just as eager as his mother to get into the fight, though he was smart in trying to get his brother always in sight in case the fighting did break out. Giving his mother and father a look as Chalcedony went to act as a shield for Keilana he pondered a moment whey they didn't act like a real couple...

Nkole post 6

Smiling at Teiluj he wouldn't admit to her that he felt like he was the weakest link here. He had no fighting skills, no way he could protect Teiluj from the others around them. Other than offering to be a meat shield for her there was little he could actually offer in this sort of scenario. Sure he could or rather would lay his life on the line if it meant keeping her safe, but she just admitted she was afraid to lose him.

Running a hand though her hair to try and ease some of the tension he nodded his head slowly before looking up and around. The mood was uneasy, tense and thick with aggression.

"You know I won't leave you." Nkole managed trying to keep the falter in his voice level. After all it was a hard promise to keep being weaponless amongst a bunch of amazon like woman dying to strike out. "But the talks don't seem to be going well...do they?"

Cyn Post # 7

"You've got a point, and I doubt they'll back down from a fight. Regardless of our numbers." Cyn tightened the grip of the hand that held his bow. Taking another deep breath he steeled himself once more, scanning the area out in front of him. His ears listened for sounds of battle, a call to arms, anything that would help him stay ahead of the game. He made a mental note that the woman speaking to him wielded a sword. If she stuck around, especially if a battle broke out, she could be useful to Cyn. A bow wasn't a well rounded weapon, it could be used in melee range but it required precision and a quickness most didn't possess. "If you're sticking around, I wouldn't say no to you watchin my back and I'll watch yours." He'd offer no handshake or friendly gestures besides a half smile. "My name is Cyn, and if it ain't obvious I'm a bowman." Words didn't come to Cyn right now, he didn't have the luxury of thinking about what was said. He cared not that she was Oban, only that if she stuck around they watched out for each other. Head on a swivel, and eyes on the back of your head. Cyn was nervous underneath his steeled outward persona. Not long ago he got a scar from a Wito, and now he was standing on the edge of a War. His eyes went up to the sky for a moment and silently he offered a prayer. He asked that their father watched over Syqvara and Cyn.

Jacinthus Post 8

Jacinthus looked down at his mate for a long moment before he nodded, "Then I ask that you stay by my side, Takoda. I'd much prefer you at my side then anyone else at a time like this. Just don't tell Little Kei I said that, she would be sure to bash me into paste with that hammer of hers." He told him the last bit in a hushed tone. Leaning over to press a kiss to the side of his neck before he shifted himself so that he was at his mate's side.

Once there he took his bow off his shoulder, allowing one hand to hover over the quiver of arrows that he kept at his side, "We will give them a chance, see if the peace talks go anywhere, and if not we will act." He murmured quietly to Takoda. He had his suspicions but one never knew, he might be wrong in this case. It didn't happen often but he'd like to be pleasantly surprised for once.

Chalcedony Post 8

Giving a shake of his head the big Shifter said, "It seems that they were going to give him his chase to talk with them, they are his people." He didn't much care for the idea of them leaving Rishima out there with such a small vanguard to guard his back but it wasn't really his place to get in the way of that. If too many people did it might look like an aggressive action. At the same time he felt that it might be best for them to at least be ready. With his shield raised he felt ready to charge in at a moment's notice and the way that Keilana had gone tense.

He was quick to lift his free hand to rest it on her shoulder, hoping to keep her from moving forward too quickly, "Don't let the mob mentality get to you, Keilana. We need to keep clear heads if possible, though I know that can be tough for you at times." He said to her in a teasing tone of voice. There was that chance she might retaliate but he'd rather she turn her ire on him if it meant keeping her from deciding to charge ahead sooner then later. He wanted to give Rishima and his group the most time possible when it came to chatting with the extremists even if the chances of it helping weren't that high.

Aysun Post 8

"Things are getting way to tense." Aysun said to his brother, giving a little whistle that drew Maw's full attention to him. Reaching out he caught hold of his horn, pulling himself up onto the big creature's back, settling down there. Once he was comfortable, with his spear in hand that had been attacked to Maw's saddle, and he turned his attention to Chandra. He knew that his brother wasn't exactly the sort that liked hanging out with his pets. Regardless he was going to at least try to get him to at least agree this one time. Maybe give the situation he might finally give in?

Holding a hand out to his twin he said, "Come on, Chandra. For real, you can trust me, trust Maw, I will keep you safe while your casting your spells." Even if his twin refused he still meant to protect him no matter what.

User Image|| Freya and Vescillea ||

At the loud sounds that announced the arrival of the Alkidikes, Freya issued her last orders to her nearby ice warriors, people she trusted to lead the rabble outside. Last war had been agaisnt a trained army, people who knew tactics... this time it was against a rag tag bunch of angry arrogant Alkidkes; Freya was not worried about the outcome at all. Her people could deal with rag tag fighter, it was the trained company style of combat the Obans used that worried her more.
She looked over their forces and smiled; many had shown up... it made her feel proud that her people were willing to come together to fight off any arrogant conqueror. And that her husbands people had showed up as well! An enemy can always be turned into an ally it seemed. Her smile vanished at the arrogant tone and insults of the Matron, but she refrained from doing more than glaring. She would leave the attempt at talking to Vescillea while she got the people ready for war.

"Prepare for war. This talk is useless and will only give us more time to prepare."
She told her advisers and commanders. "Take advantage of that and get the people situated; ensure that the veterans are dispersed thorough out to keep an eye on our younger warriors and give them guidance or protection as needed."

Vescillea strode out to stand in front of the lines of her side; making sure she also stood in front of the allied Alkidikes, indicating she trusted them and considered them allies.

"As I told your young Mystic when she rudely arrived and insulted my people during our Festival; our borders are closed to your kind unless you come in peace and are respectful of my people! You are obviously not here peacefully nor are you being respectful. Should you come any closer we will attack.... If you leave now, no harm will come to you." She called out, reigning in her anger at the rudeness. She'd always gotten along with the elders of her tribes... but she did not think this elderly Alkidike would see reason. Behind her the people prepared themselves, gearing up, saying hte last few words of goodbye and encouragement as they lined up for the coming battle. Some were nervous and even afraid of the coming battle, but the tension that filled the air was tinged with anger and eagerness and not fear. They were ready to fight and the appearance of allies from all the other tribes, including the Alkidikes themselves, filled the Suatians and Zenans with confidence.

|| Besian and Naria ||

Naria could be heard when the noise levels dropped, lulls in conversation or the metallic clang of metal on metal. She was bellowing orders to the groups of warriors she's managed to cobble together at such short notice. She watched from her vantage point how everyone worked together and corrected them the best she could. The Matorians were by far the worst of the lot, most having had very little training with weapons. That wasn't to say that they had no business being on the battleground. Just that you could tell which of them were civilians, former slaves, or combat orientated.

The Obans were actually leading by example as they did their paces. It was good to have mixed them into the squads. A messenger ran up to her, out of breath, and told her what the orders were from one of the other racial leaders. She smirked. It was time to see just what these Alkidikes thought of their resistance. She barely refrained from cracking her knuckles. It was time to get that warfare itch of hers scratched.

Besian on the other hand was worried over the state of the troops. Many of the volunteers he'd encountered were treating all of this as if it were a game. A reunion of sorts with the pesky unwanted cousins dropping in, instead of a desperate move to blockade and break an aggressive opponent. He hoped that there wouldn't be too many casualties because of this. With a groan, he hauled himself up, having stopped to help set up a stack of supplies that would be taken further to the healers tents. He needed to find the other leaders, and soon.

|| Antiope and Enki ||

Enki had already started to gather his own people in preparation for war, upon hearing that Freya was issuing the same order. Moving along his bow already in hand her went to approach her,

"I have men and women ready, well versed in archery as well magic and swords... Freya what do you propose we do next? The talks are not going well..." Enki spoke lowly as she declared rather a final straw against the alkidike extremists. Eyeing the groups with an expression that read that he was hardly surprised by the result. He knew Antiope was going to try and stop any sort of fighting, but at least Freya was on the same wavelength as him.

Antiope though was quickly moving to intercept the opposing tribes, looking between the Matron, Aeslia, the hybrids Rishima and Gerraden before back to the people she was reluctant to call enemy.

"Please, we have lived side by side for many years now in peace... why does this all have to boil down to more possible blood shed? Were we not allies once? " Antiope was doing her best to try and be diplomatic, she didn't want there to be a fight, "Did our alliance mean so little? Where is honor in turning your back to those who helped you defend your people? I do not wish to see the bonds that have been forged between our two races so brutally broken like this..." she felt choked at her own words, after all she had seen how many people were still uneasy with the pure bloods, and yet so many had forged unbreakable bonds with them. Hybrids were proof were they not that even their mother tree accepted them?

|| Matron and Extremists ||

The Alkidike women behind the Matron seemed to snicker and rustle in their mob after the earthlings spoke. Did they really think that they were intimidating enough to make the proud Alkidike turn away with their tail between their legs? Did they really think that they would stop their invasion because a handful of earthlings said so? Some of the women in the group laughed out at the end of Vescillea's words, the Matron herself looked unimpressed.

When a little shifter girl came between the two groups, trying to talk words of peace and honor, the Matron herself laughed out. "I made my claim once before. I will not make it again after this. Move your people out of the way, or we will force them out."

Some of the Alkidike were more than ready to make their move and force them out, even if they did move aside. They wanted to conquer in the name of the Alkidike, to instill the fear of their once great tribe back into the tiny earthlings.

|| OOC ||

Tension between the two sides are rising quickly. Something will come to a head soon.

Feel free to have your characters be addressed by older Warriors/Mages trying to get the people within the encampments shuffled around for battle. Archers and magic users will be directed towards the back, spears/tridents/lances (aka not close combat weapons) are behind the sword/dagger/hammer (aka close quarters melee weapons). Stage 3 and 4 characters may assume the roles of forming the groups in their appropriate areas if they choose to.

There are various small groups hiding in preparation for ambushes between the two armies. This information is for you to set up your upcoming posts with! Feel free to join them if you feel your character is good at sneaking through the (not very thick) shrubbery/grasslands to join any ambush group.

Irro post 8

Irro smiled, "I'm not sure how I'll be when the first actual patient comes in, but since he has you here, I think I will go and see if another healer needs help, best of luck to you, and I hope I get to see you again later." Irro felt bad for leaving Padma but there might be a healer out there with no help.

So she approached another tent and poked her head in, "Do you need help here? Or are you okay?" She asked the hybrid lady inside.

Sauron post 7
Sauron made sure everyone was welcome, when Isaris had his turn and asked a question, Sauron pointed over to the west, "Hes over there I think, he will be smart enough to stay out of the fighting I think. Hes not battle type to the best of my knowledge, you watch yourself out there. You too Vallen. Now everyone lets form up get ready for the first wave. Kiyelt you stay near Seze shes not used to a weapon yet. Vallen your back here with me and Isaris your to our rear being an archer. Aim high lad." Sauron chuckled. "Vuka? Oh yes there you are and you brought a visitor too." Suaron wiped his hands on his pants.
"Hello ma'am, my name is Sauron, I take it you too are ready to fight?" She could be evil but when Skava sniffed her over he didn't freak out, and neither did Unduru besides his customary growl. The radaku would make sure none of theirs were hurt and he could always keep an eye on them. He didn't want to insult her if she was fighting for them but well he had most of the children with him. "What do you think of all this?"

Seze post 7
Seze eyed the new incredibly buff alkidike woman...and hoped there were more like her on their side then not. Thorvin and Rien also didn't react so Seze figured that there was nothing sinister about this powerfully built lady. She looking like she could sit on Dad and actually hold him down...but not him and Kiyelt both. She tilted her head quizically then went to ask Kiyelt about whip handling. "Can you show me the proper grip please? I've practiced a little with long ropes but never with a real whip.

Vallen post 7
Vallen looked at Isaris. "We can go look if you like but we have to scoot back here the moment we see that he is safe." They were both key points in their unit as auxillary spearman and archer and he wouldn't leave them unprotected. "Maybe he can help at the healer tents, besides nothing will get near him with that horde anyway hes even outpacing my sister with pets and shes going to be the beast charmer." He patted the other males shoulder encouragingly. "Issaly will be alright, he knows where the threat is coming from."

Kiyelt post 7

Kiyelt tutored Seze on the proper whip forms hoping it would be enough practice. "And I've found if the whip doesn't work you can use just about anything against them. But try to stick with the whip and beside me. I can probably cover two or at least help when you get yourself in a fix if I can and if all else fails use your familars to get you out of a rough spot" He had actually learned a lot since the first time he fought and he was kind of dizzy when he thought about the first time. Except now there was no crazy leaf lady who sneered at their skills, he wondered where she had gone.

Last post for the meta. From here on out you can assume no one sees much of Zub and Jelanii.

Zuberi Post 7

After some thought of the situation, Zuberi finally decided he would stay back to watch over L'lhynd. As much as he thought fighting was important, L'lhynd was more important. He was going to say as much to Kdal when he found himself approached by soldiers.

"Hey you. Can you fight?"

Zuberi nodded, not bothering to explain.

"Going to fight."

"I'm staying here. Have something to protect."

The other soldiers scowled at this and said some things that Zuberi tuned out. He really didn't care what they thought of his decision.

"Well if you're not going to be at the front lines there are other ways you can help around here."

Those words drew Zuberi's attention. "How?"

"We could use someone to help guard the medical tents. It'll keep you town and still helping the cause."

Zuberi liked the sound of that. It wouldn't keep him to far from L'lhynd either. Turning it over he decided. Noddding. "Show me what I need to do."

The soldier grinned. "This way."

Jelanii Post 7

Jelanii gave a toothy grin at that. "I'm certainly not going to deny that." He winked at Illian. More people gathered around them and for a moment, Jelanii was enjoying the company of both friends and family that was until he felt someone brush against his shoulder. The person nodded and flicked his hand in a low hand gesture that would just seem like a flick of the hand to anyone, but to Jelanii it told a different story.

Jelanii turned to his friends and Cerith. "Sorry. I'll be right back."

Without explanation he left the group and moved towards one of the camps. From there he moved behind and scanned the crowd until he found the Matorian who had signalled him. Heading in his direction he was pulled aside.

"We have a mission for you., but you'll have to leave now. And by now I mean this moment."

"Now? But there are people here I have to tell. I can't just disappear."

"Sorry, but that's how it is. You're part of the Underground now. That involves certain sacrifices."

Jelanii frowned, turning everything over. He was mostly worried about Cerith, but last he heard she wasn't planning to join the fighting. He just hoped that stayed the plan. He nodded. "All right."

The man slapped him on his back. "Come on."

Jelanii gave one last look back, before heading off with the Underground agent.
