Tossing the wrapped into a garbage can Simon was a bit startled as the wrapped came back out. Fluttering to the ground Simon reached for it when a small trash bag fell next to it. Well not just next to it but moving onto it and then Simon understood that it wasn't just a trash bag but a Pokemon, Trubbish. "Sorry, sorry," rang out the voice of a teenager who ran over to him. "There you are Trubbish, I've been looking all over for you.""Bish?"the Pokemon asked chewing on the granola wrapper. Simon smiled as the kid returned him. "Thanks, if you didn't throw that away I wouldn't have considered looking in there.""Nothing to it,"Simon said with a smile.

ZK flinched and growled, barring his teeth ath Kezia as she dug her claws into his hand, the fur beneath his illusion standing on end slightly. He jerked his hand away once her grip loosened, glaring daggers at her and rubbing it with a grimace. What the hell? He frowned, lowering his hands to his sides and staring sharply at her, piercing gaze watching her carefully and meeting her as she turned to look back at him. His frown deepened, then, briefly, looked uncomfortable when Kezia mentioned her mother, his eyes sliding off to the side in an evasive glance. He was tempted to ask whether this was before or after her father's death-- a grieving woman, no matter how smart, could easily make mistakes, or some other calloused thing like that-- but didn't. Instead he just looked back to stare coldly back at her, remaining silent.
He seemed to actually listen to her and let her tell her story, but his expression didn't seem very impressed. In fact, he stoically crossed his arms over his chest as he listened, then looked off to the side, appearing to take a deep breath, hold it, then slowly let it out. The only thing that really got a sharp reaction out of him was the mention of some of their kind working with the people that were responsible for all of this, which earned a sudden, wide-eyed look, before he quickly seemed to cover it up with another attempt at nonchalance. It was pretty clear that he was bothered by what she said, though. "I... guess I'm not really surprised," he admitted, frowning, then graimcing, "Pokemon are almost always too weak to stand on their own, after all." He sniffed, lifting his head up, his expression icy. "It's practically predictable that they would eventually succumb to their captures will, and just join sides with them. It's certainly easier than fighting back..." He suddenly snapped his mouth shut, and looked down. Even he thought he sounded like an a**, spouting all of that. But... some part of him believed it. After all, so much of the evidence seemed to support it... Pokemon became stronger when they were with a trainer, incapable of reaching that by themselves. Virtually any pokemon could be captured, enslaved, by a trainer, even the so called legendaries... They were weak, and just as useless as humans...
He finally raised his head, staring dully at Kezia, trying to look as passive as possible. "However nice, however... trustworthy or... whatever, you think this person is... I don't know why you thought you had to let her catch you. You could have just let her protect you... Now, even if she doesn't abuse it, right now or maybe ever... she could enslave you, Kezia. She could 'trade' you, she could sell you, she can return you to your pokeball and maybe you'll be able to break free but probably not. And then she can put you in some... some computer system. I don't care how nice she is... you didn't have to let yourself get caught," he sneered.
Ajicka, meanwhile, was still reading her book. She paused, though, as she saw someone getting closer out of the corner of her eye. At first, instinct said to panic, or at least go into fight or flight-- but she could almost immediately tell the action was harmless, and glanced sideways at the girl. "Do you need something?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at her.

Wondering how a Pokemon could just run off from a trainer Simon sighed, it made sense if he had a smaller Pokemon like Trubbish who was curious about the world in himself. Simon, himself, would freak out a little but then again that trainer looked so relieved to have his Trubbish back. "Excuse me I noticed your Pokeballs, if you're a trainer we should battle." Looking over at the girl in a judo outfit with a light green belt around her waist. Simon smiled and nodded entering one of the many makeshift Pokemon arenas and got ready. Expecting fighting Pokemon Simon sent Marshtomp out first before returning him for Noivern. The first Pokemon she sent out was one he had seen all the time in the Arcade. "Primeape the pig monkey Pokemon. When Primeape becomes furious, its blood circulation is boosted. In turn, its muscles are made even stronger. However, it also becomes less intelligent at the same time."

He seemed to think so little of his own species, it angered Kezia, but in the end, his heartless comments were true. Casting her illusion once more, the fox appeared once more as a human, her arms folding as she listened to ZK prattle on about all the bad things Ko could do to her. "You just don't get it? Ghha! You're still the same stubborn-headed fool." Turning away she let out a frustrated sigh. "Somethings never change." Glaring back she narrowed her eyes. "What in the world can I do to convince you Ko is a good human? Huh? What? Because I'll do it." Resting her hands down upon her hips, she leaned forward. "Do you think me a fool? I know you think I let myself be caught, and frankly I did, I was apprehensive to trust Ko at first, but she's proved ten times over that she's trustworthy." The fox paused, noticeably thinking over something. "Do I have to show you... what those humans are doing to her?" Her tone was dead serious. Icy blue eyes fixed on ZK's amethyst iris'.
She'd gotten close enough to actually see the page the girl was looking at near perfectly, enough to read the words. It really was book on mega Pokemon. When Ajicka took notice of Ko and spoke out towards her, Ko jumped some, standing up straight. "O-oh, well, um... I notice the book you were reading, and wondered if it had the same information mine does...." Closing her eyes, she smiled a gentle smile before opening here eyes wide and turning to quickly retrieve the book she'd mentioned. Pulling it from her bag, she crossed back over to the girl, lowering the tome before her. Oinari joined them, Ko's bag in his mouth. It was much lighter now that the heavy book wasn't in it. Ko quickly thanked Oinari, grabbing her bag and setting it down on the ground near her feet. "Could I ask were you got yours?" Ko asked.

ZK shook his head, frowning, crossing his arms in return and looking back at Kezia with a clear lack of open-mindedness. In turn, though, he gave a growling sigh, rolling, not just his eyes, but his whole head back, then whipping it back to glare at her, especially when she offered to show him something. "No," he snapped, stepping forward, "Because I don't care!" He brandished his hand to the side. "I don't care about your stupid little human! I don't care if you say she's nice! That's not what I'm saying! You didn't have to let her catch you! THAT is what I'm saying! Freaking listen, Kezia! You're missing the whole point! She could be a complete angel-- let's say she doesn't decide to take advantage of all the things I said and more, let's say she really is as good as you say. You could still be returned to a pokeball, and then you could be stolen! At least if you aren't caught, you have that going for you." He straightened up, jabbing a finger at the ground. "You could have just traveled with her, but you let yourself get caught. You're already bending to their will."
Ajicka looked at the girl, then raised an eyebrow. At first, she seemed skeptical-- but then she straightened up with interest. Wait... did it? Did the two books differ? Because if they did, that was worth looking into. "I don't remember where I bought it," she muttered, looking at the book. She reached for it, but looked up at the girl, waiting permission to take it. "They should match up, though, shouldn't they? Is yours new or something?" she asked, already frowning with curiosity. Had there been some sort of update or something...?
She blinked, looking over as the squirtle that had been with ZK arrived, raising an eyebrow, then looking over as her pokemon were put up and healed. She motioned she would be right back, grabbing them and returning, Elle releasing herself from her pokeball to cheerily greet the squirtle, and look curiously at the ninetails the other girl seemed to have. 'Hi!' she greeted, while Ajicka dropped down to take a seat and continue her conversation with the girl .

Battle
Turn 1 Simon switches out Marshtomp for Noivern (540 HP) Primeape (430 HP) uses rage - 20
Turn 2 Noivern (515 HP) uses super fang - 215 Primeape (215 HP) uses karate chop, it's not very effective - 25
Turn 4 Noivern (495 HP) uses air slash, it's super effective - 150 Primeape has fainted
Returning her fighting Pokemon Simon though upon the games he had played with that Pokemon being the main character or the one needing rescue in the sequel. Thinking how most of the arcade were Pokemon based ones he had seen a machine called Poke-Fighters which probably contained a lot of fighting Pokemon on it. The next Pokemon came out punching the air and Simon recognized it as Hitmonchan calling out for Noivern to be ready.

Turn 2 Noivern (409 HP) uses super fang - 108 Hitmonchan (107 HP) uses Sky Punch, it's not very effective - 43
Turn 3 Noivern (409 HP) uses air slash, it's super effective - 150 Hitmonchan has fainted
The punching Pokemon was jumping high into the air in order to score those punches however with a flap of his wings Noivern made the blows that less powerful. As Hitmonchan got closer Noivern was able to bite the slash wind through the air to knock Hitmonchan out. As if to try to revenge his brother Hitmonlee burst out as the girl returned Hitmonchan. Though technically two Pokemon were out at the same time on her side Simon let it go since it was now just Noivern and "Hitmonlee the kicking Pokemon. Hitmonlee's legs freely contract and stretch. Using these spring like legs, its bowls over foes with devastating kicks. After battle, it rubs down its legs and loosens the muscles to overcome fatigue."

Another slash of air knocked Hitmonlee back, down and out. The trainer frowned returning him before sending out her final Pokemon, "Heracross the single horn Pokemon. Heracross has sharp claws on its feet. These are planted firmly into the ground or the bark of a tree, giving the Pokemon a secure and solid footing to forcefully fling away foes with its proud horn." A fighting bug Pokemon would be quick work against Noivern so he hoped he could survive the last attacks.

Sei decided to start back at the Wheel of Fortune next. She gave it a spin with about as much strength as she'd given to get the jackpot, but due to where it landed with the last person who played it, she only ended up with a six. Wasn't great, but it was a respectable number, all things considered. Now to continue to the darts game.

She did her best to pop the ten balloons hung on the wall, but she didn't do very well at it still. Only two of the air pockets were popped, and she was awarded with just as many tickets. Sighing, she decided she'd take one more shot at the ring toss before checking up on her companions.

Continuing along the road Simon walked pass a small garden where some berry trees were along with a woman using a Wailmer pail to water the plants. Moving among them and enjoying the water was a Vileplume. His Pokedex told him that it was "Vileplume the flower Pokemon. Vileplume's toxic pollen triggers atrocious allergy attacks. That's why it is advisable never to approach any attractive flowers in a jungle, however pretty they may be." Looking up at him the woman smiled, "Hello, my name is Daisy, did you want to battle?" Simon smiled and nodded, if she was a gardener and used all plants Houndoom would be able to take them out rather quickly.

Hoping her luck would turn around at least somewhat, the lemon-colored Lucario approached another ring toss stall. At this point it didn't seem like she was going to do very well at any game like this, but she might as well try it. The first ring went around the bottle easily enough, though it bounced around a little bit before settling down it. Unfortunately, her last two were near misses, one skimming the top and the other rebounding away. She took her two tickets in a disappointment, before walking away from the stall. She decided to check on Nova and Zero before playing anymore games. She closed her eyes, focusing on the auras of the many people around her, and singled out the two she searched for. Nova she could check on easy enough, but for some reason, she had trouble with Zero. It kind of reminded her of how he was when he first became her trainer...

Battle
Turn 1 Simon switched out Dewott for Houndoom (630 HP) Vileplume (430 HP) uses natural gift, no berry held no effect
Turn 2 Houndoom (630 HP) uses flamethrower, it's super effective ([90 x 1.3 Mega =] 117 x 2 (SE)) - 234 Vileplume (196 HP) uses lucky chant, turn 1
Turn 3 Houndoom (630 HP) uses flamethrower, it's super effective ([90 x 1.3 Mega =] 117 x 2 (SE)) - 204 Vileplume has fainted Turn 2 lucky chant
Even with the defense of lucky chant Houndoom managed to burn Vileplume down. The next Pokemon went along with his idea that she was going to use pretty, flower Pokemon. "Roserade the bouquet Pokemon. Luring prey with a sweet scent, it uses poison whips on its arms to poison, bind and finish off the prey."

With failure after failure after her non-existent belt, Nova finally hunkered down at a fighting game, and focused on nothing but the game. She picked a character who's stats were favorable, she more or less knew the moveset from previous attempts at the game, and she was ready to go. She plowed through the first six characters that made up the twenty-man bracket, getting more comfortable with the character in the process. The next eleven opponents went by after some mild annoyance, only ever coming across a particularly cheap character a couple of times. It was the last three that really took everything she could do to beat.
The eighteenth character was pretty much the one she picked, and the computer's difficulty had been set to high. The AI got her in a number of fancy combos and special moves while she struggled to keep their health bars even, and it was even harder to get ahead and beat her chosen character. The semi-final character was a little easier, if only because she was able to trap him in a corner. But the final boss was on a whole other level. She immediately noticed that unlike all the other characters she fought, the round counter on this fight was set to two-out-of-three, and she quickly saw why. Almost immediately the distance between them was closed, and she found herself stuck in an infinite combo. She wasn't prepared for the difficulty to be cranked up to eleven so suddenly. She'd lost the first round in seconds, her opponent taunting her as her character lied limp on the ground.
After it faded to black though, Nova got ready for the bum rush that was about to repeat. She was ready this time, and the moment the announcer said "fight", she pressed the heavy attack button. The AI charged her with that dash move from before, just like she thought, and the attack connected. Even compared to other characters, it looked like just the one attack hit pretty heavily, and she knew what she needed to do with this guy. Immediately she got into the zone, getting her foe into a combo of her own. He made some good attempts to get out, but every time the Gardevoir got the timing down for the block, so she continued to assault him until his health bar emptied. Now for the hard part. She sort of remembered how these things worked in the way of the three-round system, where the AI would switch up their pattern either after a loss or when the game took pity on them. Still, it meant she probably couldn't rely on the strategy she used a minute ago.
She started getting anxious as the announcer counted down. Time seemed to slow as she waited, unsure of what move she should make. When the game finally started the final round, Nova had a knee-jerk reaction to it. Fortunately, it seemed to be in her favor, as she accidently moved her control stick back before her opponent used a different move from before. Black spikes were suddenly summoned from the ground, leaving the final boss wide open. The Mega Gardevoir jumped on the opportunity, rather literally, pressing the jump button as she charged in case they could get another spike trap out. Which, unfortunately, they did. The boss canceled the animation and jumped back, instantly pulling out another spike move that caught her. Fortunately, since she was at the apex of her jump, she was sent behind the boss, as they moved forward as if they were going in for a combo. The mistake was realized to late however, as she promptly got up and swiftly started getting a combo out on them. Their health was brought down to about half when they used that dash move they opened with to move behind her, and got her in their own combos. Nova had made it far too far in this though, she wasn't gonna lose now.
Her health was down to about a quarter when the boss went into overdrive. They tried a new combo, one which required a lot of movement and a lot less attacking. Unsure of what it was about to do, Nova panicked. She moved the stick erratically, and just mashed the various buttons on the cabinet. She moved forward and out of the way just in time to dodge the boss' ultimate attack, which laid out a magic circle a distance away while they made some weird chant. And this wasn't something that could be canceled. Immediately, Nova started wailing on him, punch after punch that resulted in heavy blows. She didn't even know what she pressed in what order whenever she got out a special move, but it was when the boss' health was down to less than a quarter that it finally came to an end. Through sheer dumb luck, or perhaps from some hidden part of her that she just wanted to say she had in the back of her mind to sound cool, she managed to start an animation just like the one that nearly killed her.
Her character's portrait suddenly flashed on screen, and they jetted forward across the stage. When her fist made contact with her opponent, Nova's character unleashed a vast flurry of punches that lasted for a few seconds. A pause occurred between strikes, and they switched their attack into a smash, which she only recognized as some heavy uppercut or another. Her foe was launched out of the world, and she watched as it cut to as CG image of the moon, which cracked all the way down the middle as the boss impacted it, but as a final flourish, another beat happened where a massive fist-shaped crater was left in the moon, just before it shattered into pieces. "Ultimate Finish!" The announcer exclaimed, and the character she picked did her victory taunt. When it cut to the leaderboard, it showed that she'd set a new high score, which only enthralled the Gardevoir.
She couldn't contain her excitement any longer. She'd finally won one of these infernal games, and it was as close to a flawless one as she could get. "...Yeeeeeeeeeeeees!" Nova exclaimed, throwing her arms up into the air in triumph. The people around her probably couldn't understand her, since she didn't broadcast her actual words to everyone, save for perhaps Zero or anyone who's already heard her talk before. She let out a heavy sigh as she basked in her victory. She leaned back in to the game to input her name in the machine, "NOVA", and taking her well earned prize.
She then immediately exited the tent and ran off to return to Zero, refusing to ever play another arcade game again.
