((Not sure when exactly this should take place. Probably after they get back to Oshu, but I wanted to get it at least posted here so that it wouldn't get lost and forgotten.))

Mitsutada: Ah! -catches Ookurikara and Pest, blinking, stumbling back a bit but doesn't fall- ...Are you okay? -smiles-

Ookurikara:: *blinks as he's caught, having turned to where his back would have hit the ground, which instead hits Mitsutada, and cradled the baby against his chest* ...? *glances up at Mitsutada's voice* Think so.

Pest:: owo *sucking on one of her thumbs, staring up with wide blue eyes*

Mitsutada: -carefully sets Ookurikara on his feet and looks at the baby- Uhm... Kuri-chan... is there something I should know?

Ookurikara:: *blinks, glancing at the baby then back at Mitsutada* It's not what you think...? Ah... This guy with black hair and strange blue armor approached and muttered something like "You'll do." and just dropped it in my arms, turned and walked off. >_>;

Pest:: *gives a big toothless smile around her thumb at Mitsutada and gurgles a bit*

Mitsutada: -sighs in relief- I was just about to say you broke my heart! -says teasingly and soon looks at Pest, smiling- Hey there little one.

Ookurikara:: *raises an eyebrow at Mitsutada* Eh? *shakes his head at Mitsutada's teasing, then hands him a scrap of paper* This was on the diaper. I guess her name is Pest... >_>;

Pest:: owo *giggles and pulls her thumb out of her mouth, reaching out to Mitsutada with drool covered hands*

Mitsutada: Pest..? That's not a very cool name. They're supposed to be strong and have meaning! -looks a bit shocked and holds up a hand- ...Not a word. -grumbles and fusses with his bangs for a moment, looking back at the kid- ... -hesitantly holding out his hand for the kid to grab onto- Why is it drooling so much... @-@;

Ookurikara:: *smirks slightly and just raises an eyebrow at Mitsutada's little rant* I have plenty of words for that. I will keep them to myself though. *glances back at Pest and shrugs* I would imagine because it's a baby. But I don't know. Perhaps we should take it to Masamune-sama...? *has a feeling that might not be the best idea*

Pest:: *squeals happily and gently grabs at Mitsutada's fingers, babbling away in baby speak*

Mitsutada: Wise decision. -nods and sighs- I would have suggested Kojuro but Masamune-sama would probably be the next choice... Despite what he portrays, he holds a lot of Kojuro's teachings dear. -watching the baby- ...Despite the drool, it's cute. -chuckles and wiggles his finger a bit- Imagine Masamune-sama was once this size.

Ookurikara:: I would imagine Masamune-sama gave Kojuro plenty of trouble. *thinks for a minute, then shrugs* So should we take it to him? I don't know what to do with it. *has no comment on whether it is cute or not* ... You hold it now. *tries to pass Pest off to Mitsutada*

Pest:: *coos and babbles some more, blowing bubbles*

Mitsutada: O-oi... -frowns but does take the baby, gently cradling her in his arms- What's amatter, Kuri-chan? Scared of a little baby?

Pest:: *squeals happily again as she is transferred over to Mitsutada, slowly reaching up and gently pawing at his chin* owo Amamama?

Ookurikara:: *snorts* No. I'm not scared of it, I'm just done holding it for now. Looks more natural for you to do it.

Mitsutada: More natural..? I don't get what you mean... We're both qualified to look after someone, Kuri-chan. -blinks, frowning and feels a hand batting at his chin- ...Huh? -looks down and smiles at Pest, cooing at her- Look at you~ You're so adorable! Yes you are~

Ookurikara:: *just smirks and tilts his head the slightest bit as if to say 'I told you so' at Mitsutada's baby talk* That. What you're doing right now. I... don't do that.

Pest:: *giggles some more, then yawns, snuggling her face into Mitsutada's chest and getting sleepy*

Mitsutada: Then learn, it's not that hard Kuri-chan. -gives him a bit of a glare and looks at Pest- ...Aww.. tired? Let's go find a nice shady spot to take a nap. -smiles and heads off to sit down under a tree, stopping to make sure Kuri is following-

Ookurikara:: *snorts and mutters to himself* Why should I need to learn when you do it just fine...? *follows after Mitsutada though when he heads off to look for a shady spot to sit*

Mitsutada: What if one day you have little swords of your own? -teasing Ookurikara as he carefully sits down in a shady spot, careful not to wake the baby who's trying to sleep- It would be uncool if you didn't know how to take care of them. I mean... it could be possible right? Like this you could find someone, fall in love, and start a family?

Ookurikara:: *blinks and stares at Mitsutada, having clearly not thought of that on his own* ... *shrugs uncertainly and sits down near Mitsutada* I... hadn't thought of that. Tch... The only people I can stand being around are you and Masamune-sama. I have no desire or need to get friendly with or get to know anyone else outside of that.

Pest:: *finally asleep, content and curled up in Mitsutada's arms*

Mitsutada: ... -blinks- Kuri-chan, you never know. -smiles- I am sure you'll be super popular with the ladies! -chuckles and looks away, hiding a slightly sadder smile- Or you could see if our lord is interested in you? Heh, that would be interesting.

Ookurikara:: *scowls at the thought of being popular* Tch. Not interested in being popular. You, though, would be popular. You're the friendly, open, caring one. *shakes his head and snorts at the second bit* I doubt our lord would be interested in me and I've no desire to try to find out and get laughed at or worse. *shrugs, watching Mitsutada out of the corner of his eye*

Mitsutada: I have no reason to be distant despite what Hasebe-kun and others would say. -shakes his head- Ah... sorry for thinking you would be. It was just a suggestion. I only want for you to be happy Kuri-chan. Your well being is very important to me... We're partners after all.

Ookurikara:: *narrows his eyes a bit at the mention of Hasebe* Tch... The b*****d doesn't know what he's talking about. *looks away, staring at nothing for a moment and sighs, keeping his face turned away from Mitsutada* And... if I said I was happiest with you...?

Mitsutada: Ah... Watch the language... -gestures to Pest by tilting his head in her direction- Young ears hear all. I think even in their sleep. -leans back against the tree a bit, wasn't expecting Kuri to say much more but soon blushes brightly- O-Ookurikara... -looks at him wide-eyed- ...Are you really....?

Ookurikara:: *still not looking at Mitsutada, mainly because he believes the other will be disgusted with him, but gives a short, sharp nod*

Mitsutada: Ah... I'm... very happy to hear that! -sniffles- Really..! -trying not to cry, biting his lower lip, is literally so happy he could cry-

Ookurikara:: *turns back to Mitsutada at that* You are...? *sees that it looks like the other is about to cry and leans closer, gently tugging Mitsutada to where he could rest his head on Ookurikara's shoulder, smiling the tiniest bit*

Mitsutada: -closes his eyes as he's pulled closer, resting his head on the other's shoulder, a content smile on his face- ...Kuri-chan... I hope that happiness never goes away.

Ookurikara:: *frowns a bit* Why do you think it would...?

Mitsutada: Huh..? I'm not sure... -chuckles and grins a bit- I just never want to be the reason for your sadness... Whenever you smile... its a blessing. -opens his eyes and looks up at him- And if I cause you sadness, I'd never see that smile of yours again....

Ookurikara:: *snorts at that, smiling again* Tch. You sure can be an idiot at times, Mitsu. Sure, you may irritate the hell out of me at times and make me want to shake some sense into you, but you haven't made me sad yet.

Mitsutada: Ah... -chuckles- I guess I'm your idiot now, huh? Uhm... ahah... -chuckles nervously- That is if you want me to be... I'll understand if you wanna just remain friends...

Ookurikara:: *sigh* You really are an idiot. *chuckles* Yes. MY idiot. And I'll kick the s**t out of anyone else that says otherwise. >_> *not monitoring his language again, forgetting the baby still napping soundly in Mitsutada's arms*

Mitsutada: Heh... Alright~! -leans closer and kisses him on the cheek, pulling away and grins like the idiot he is- Ah, Kuri-chan watch the language. -chuckles softly as he looks down at the baby and sighs in relief when he sees she's still sleeping-

Ookurikara:: *not hiding his grin now* Heh. Good. *glances down at Pest* Tch. She'll have to get used to it. I'm pretty sure she was given to me to take care of.

Mitsutada: Hmmm.... And you quickly passed her off to me. I still say you need to learn. -nods-

Ookurikara:: >_> Knowing my luck I'd feed her the wrong thing and she'd explode.

Mitsutada: -looks at him, blinking a few times then laughs- Kuri-chan... Babies don't explode...! She might get a stomach ache but she won't blow up. ...This is why I say you need to learn. -shaking his head, smiling-

Ookurikara:: .... I guess now you have a reason to help teach me then. *grins a bit*

Mitsutada: A-ah... -sighs- Fine, fine... I'll teach you how to be a "cool" parent! -beams-

Ookurikara:: *blinks* I don't need to be a 'cool' parent. *chuckles* Ah just... help me with her... please? Otherwise I might have to ask Masamune-sama. And I'm not sure how well that will go. >_>;

Pest:: *finally seems to be showing signs of waking up, tiny little fists rubbing at her face*

Mitsutada: Hmm... -thinks on it, was about to say he'll do so for a kiss but feels Pest moving about and looks down- Oh hey... she's waking up. Hello there sweepy head~~ -smiling-

Ookurikara:: *glances down at Pest as well* ... *moves to where one of his hands is within easy reach of the baby when it looks like she might start crying*

Pest:: *blinks a few times, looking at first like she's about to cry until Ookurikara dangles one of his hands for her to grab onto* o_o *grabs onto Ookurikara's pinky with one little hand and giggles, attempting to flail her new 'toy' around while babbling*

Mitsutada: Aww... She likes you Kuri-chan! =w=

Ookurikara:: *seems a bit nervous* I guess that's a good thing...? She liked you pretty well before she went to sleep.

Pest:: *giggles and flails Ookurikara's hand around some more, babbling away like a little brook*

Mitsutada: Relax... It's a very good thing. -smiles and coos to Pest again- Who's a cute little one~? You are~ Yes you are! Do you know who that is? That's Kuri-chan~ He acts all big and tough but he won't hurt you. He'll keep the bad guys away

Ookurikara:: >_>; *eyes Mitsutada like he'd gone crazy* You're such a "weirdo".

Pest:: 8D *raises her free hand and waves it at Mitsutada's nose, babbling away even more* Amamamamamaaaaa!

Ookurikara:: *chuckles* Do you think that settles it on you being 'Mama Mitsu' then? *has a feeling Mitsu miiiiight hit him for that one, but doesn't care, thinks it'd be cute*

Pest:: *looks from one to the other as they talk, then attempts to place her free hand on Mitsutada's chin, staring with intent blue eyes* Mamamamamamamamama

Mitsutada: -suppresses the urge to roll his eyes and only continues smiling- Alright... alright... If I'm the mama then you're the papa, Kuri-chan. -looks at Pest and chuckles- Yes? What is it?

Ookurikara:: *thinks for a moment, then nods* I think I can live with being papa.

Pest:: OwO *blows bubbles and giggles at Mitsutada as he looks back at her and chuckles*

Mitsutada: Papa Ookurikara it is then. -smirks and soon covers his one good eye- ...A-peek-a-boo~! -uncovers his eye then covers it again- Peek-a-boo~

Pest:: *watches Mitsu with interest, then covers one of her eyes and uncovers it in turn, mimicking him and babbling*

Mitsutada: -smilingly as he continues to play peek-a-boo for awhile with her, not even realizing the fact he probably should be covering both his eyes, but doesn't want to drop the baby- Heh... -looks at Kuri- So, how long do you have to watch her for?

Ookurikara:: *shrugs slightly* I wasn't told. So I'm guessing I'm just supposed to keep her. *still has a bit of a smile on his own face watching Mitsutada play with the baby*

Pest:: *coos and giggles some more, babbling mama at Mitsutada every now and then*

Mitsutada: Well... speaks volumes for the birth parents, doesnt it? -gently pokes her nose- Boop! I boop'd your nose~ -chuckles and leans against Kuri-

Ookurikara:: *nods and scoots his arm behind Mitsutada as the other leans against him* Guess so. Or at least the father. As I'd said, he was wearing what looked like strange blue armor. Maybe he was going off to fight and didn't think he'd return? *shrugs slightly*

Pest:: OwO *goes cross-eyed watching Mitsutada's finger come at her nose*

Mitsutada: -pulls his finger away, smiling brightly at the baby then looks at Kuri- ..That's really sad... I know war isn't... -sighs- War isn't the glory many make it out to be. Still, there's always some glimmer of hope you'll return to your loved ones at the end of the day. -nods- But... that's okay. -looks at Pest- Mama Mitsu and Papa Kuri will take care of you Pest. -frowns deeply- ...Can we change her name? It's really offensive...

Ookurikara:: *chuckles at the question* I don't see why we can't change it. I mean, we're going to be taking care of her, after all. What do you have in mind?

Pest:: *coos again, then gently bats at his shirt (The rope bit if he's wearing his usual outfit.)*

Mitsutada: Hmm....-rests his head on Kuri's shoulder and thinks- Babies remind me of little tantous... So.. can we call her Hira? Since the tantou are forged with a hira-zukuri design unlike us which are shinogi-zukuri. If not, feel free to suggest names. -smiling as he watches Pest bat the rope-

Ookurikara:: *chuckles slightly* It's fine. Hira shall be her name then.

Ookurikara:: *walking around the castle, seemingly lost in thought* .... *was trying to think of how and when, exactly, he and Mitsutada should let Masamune-sama know that the two of them were a couple*

Ookurikara:: *had been so lost in thought, he almost hadn't noticed Mitsutada until the other started speaking to him* Hrm? Oh, hey Mitsu. I'm ok. Was just thinking. You know, when you brought up whether Masamune-sama would be alright with us. I'm sure he'll be fine with it... I'm just not sure how or when we should bring it up to him. At first, I thought of asking him what his thoughts were on a man being with another man first.... Any thoughts..?

Ookurikara:: *frowns a bit at Mitsutada mentioning that they might not work out, frown deepening at the pained look that crossed his face at the thought* I... don't see why we wouldn't work out, unless you said yes just to make me happy. *knew he wasn't very good at showing affection often, but he was trying to make little shows every now and then, relaxes a bit when Mitsutada says that he thinks they're good and lets the other ruffle and fix his hair, allowing a smile to appear on his own face at the actions* That's true....

Ookurikara:: *snorts a bit at that* I wouldn't have said anything to you if I didn't enjoy being with or around you, Mitsu. *smiles again as the other kisses him on the cheek* *kisses Mitsutada's cheek in return before the other pulls away* Sure. Hopefully the dumbasses haven't annoyed him too horribly.

Ookurikara:: *scowls* They're idiots if they think Masamune-sama is going to agree to something like that. *follows after Mitsutada, then blinks and follows after Masamune and Mitsutada as he walks off in a hurry*
