Alan the Great Suta_Hisui Alan the Great Suta_Hisui Alan the Great
I think I already suggested this but Dies The Fire by S. M. Stirling is really good. It's a bit hard to get into, but once you do it's amazing.
I think everyone in the world should read it. It'll change the way you view things.
It'll change you in the fact that you won't take things for granted anymore.
It's part of a trilogy but I could never get into the second book and I haven't tried the third. The first book was perfect as a stand-alone.
Hmmm... Our library doesn't have that book, but we do have A Meeting at Corvallis. Do you know if that's any good?
Also: The Thirteenth Child by Patrica C. Wrede. Bonus: Tammy said nice things about her on the back cover. 3nodding That's the third book. Don't read it yet.
Wha?!!!? But I got 2/3 of the way through it today at Books-A-Million! It was the only one they had! gonk Are we still talking about A Meeting an Corvallis?
Oh. I was talking about The Thirteenth Child, but it's good to know that about A Meeting at Corvallis.
@ queen: I checked it out today. xd

Queen-of-the-Rogue Quote: @ queen: I checked it out today. icon_xd.gif Good to know. Let me know if you like it. Actually, I really did. The cover of the book kinda threw me off before, so I didn't read it (Yes, I know. sweatdrop I'm sorry.). I liked how it was Faerie without being generic.

I know when I first saw the cover it threw me for a loop as well. I thought the book was good and I liked how Lucy wasn't your typical damsel in distress. I would also like to suggest The Elenium Trilogy by David Eddings. It's very good. I'm currently on the second book The Ruby Knight.

So there are no books you think are good besides Tamora Pierce's? I have many favorites and I have suggested many of them already. I would also suggest the Tamuli by David Eddings I'm on the second book at this point in time and will probably finish when my mom is in surgery.

I agree with Queenie (do you mind if I call you that?) I happen to be a big fan of David eddings work, and I highly suggest the ones Queenie did along with The dreamers series, redemption of Althalus, and for those of you who like books that take place in our world in our current time Regina's song *gets shivers* which is an amazing story.

I would recommend: The Eight by Katherine Neville A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson The Black Magician trilogy by Trudi Canavan Good Night, Mr Tom by Michelle Magorian The Blue Bloods series by Melissa de la Cruz (I still need to read the fourth though) and a whole bunch of other books...
Has anyone read any of these?
And on a side note, I reread Sandry's Book (aka The Magic in the Weaving) yesterday! I hadn't read it in about 5 years. whee Got to reread the other Emelan ones now. 3nodding

Kisetsu no Ai I agree with Queenie (do you mind if I call you that?) I don't mind. Alan, Roki, Marker, and Suta already call me that so if you want to call me Queenie go ahead. Do you mind if I call you AI? It's easier to type than Kiestsu. I might look into the Althalus series eventually. I haven't heard anything good about the Dreamer's series. It also seems like it contradicts what's stated in the Tamuli cause in the Dreamers from what I could tell there were only 4 Elder Gods and 4 Younger Gods yet Aphrael states in the Tamuli that there are thousands of Styric gods.

I'm reading an interesting book that I picked up because Tamora Pierce wrote an excellent review featured on the back cover. It's about a sixteen-year-old crippled girl who is masquerading as a twelve year old boy, candidate to become a dragon apprentice. Many people who've read have compared the author to Tamora Pierce. It's called "Eon: Dragoneye Reborn". The beginning is really good, but I'm at the halfway point and find it a bit tedious. Of course it's nowhere near as good to me as Tammy's books, but you guys might like it! biggrin

I'm sure I've already suggested Graceling or someone else has by Kristin Cashore. I'm suggesting Fire which is a prequel and very very good. I enjoyed it a lot.

Hmm well I don't have a book so much as a show. It's called "Legend of the Seeker" ; I thought you guys might like it. It reminds me a little bit of Xena Warrior Princess. There's a book too called "Wizard's first rule". They are just starting the second season of the show but if you haven't seen the first seson go watch that instead I totally thought it was awesome. heart 3nodding
