"Mhm," Was Riko's only response to Mercy's bit of cheekiness, she stepped into the room completely again, leaning against the wall near the door and crossing her arms, watching Mercy play around with Elle on the bed, Riko smiled faintly at the pair, glad that Elle seemed to be overcoming her morning gloom. Riko looked up from the smiling child to Mercy who she now noticed was looking at her, Riko's smile faded slowly, when Mercy began talking. "I didn't sleep." Riko said with a shrug "Vampire remember?" Riko added. She looked out the door where down the stairs when Mercy mentioned Delorna, Riko just shrugged again. "Prior obligations." Riko said, looking back at Mercy. "Nothing much more than that really."

Oh, right. Riko didn't sleep. "Right, sorry." That had to suck, Mercy thought. On most weekends, all Mercy did was watch Netflix and eat junk food. What would she do if she never had to sleep? More nothing, probably. It would be such a waste.
Riko wasn't willing to divulge the details of her conversation with Delorna, which was fine. Mercy took Elle's tiny hands and moved the baby's arms around. When Elle smiled, Mercy squealed. The infant's laugh and grin were infectious. "Mama Mercy should probably take a shower so she can sober up and not be smelly anymore, shouldn't she?" she cooed, smirking broadly all the while. "If you're going to drink someday, Elle, remember to always drink in moderation. Getting wasted isn't fun." When Elle shrieked happily, Mercy chuckled. "God, I hope she finds some great role models, because we're... not the best," she joked, glancing at Riko. "Maybe we should get her started on watching Oprah or Ellen Degeneres. Strong, inspiring females."
(Trying to think of ways that the pack might test Mercy's loyalty. Any ideas?)

(bring them the head of THE vampire! Or, make em think she has Riko wrapped around her finger. That way they will be all like. "Oh s**t, she has a vampire lap servant? Maybe she can be useful afterall.") "Don't apologize, its fine." Riko said moving to a chair at a desk in the corner of the room, sitting down she turned to Mercy, crossing one leg over the other, she looked around at the random knickknacks on the desk, pulling open the drawers and shifting through it nosily as Mercy talked to Elle, she didn't find anything of interest which was slightly disappointing, but it was a halfassed search anyway. Riko turned back to Mercy when the conversation became directed towards her. She smirked shaking her head, honestly she felt she was a great role model. "We'll get you in shape as she gets older, don't worry, I won't allow you to rub off on her negatively."

(Yeah, I was thinking something along those lines. Alrighty, thanks!)
Mercy shot Riko an unamused sideways glance. "Gee, thanks," she replied sarcastically. As soon as her eyes fell on Elle again, Mercy's face lit up and she beamed. "If you're looking for my illicit drug stash, it's in the third drawer on the left, right under my collection of hardcore BDSM sex toys," she joked with a straight tone, having noticed Riko's rummaging. She wasn't sure what Riko was looking for, and she didn't really appreciate the snooping, but it wasn't like she had anything to hide. There were inded some drugs that maybe weren't... entirely legal... but she took them only to ease the aches and pains of changing after a night under the full moon. One of the drawers also contained a short stack of pictures, which Mercy had dug up herself only recently. Pictures of her and Shiva and Leigh, the previous Alpha and Mercy's longtime mate.
"The full moon is coming up soon," Mercy said. "I don't like suggesting this, but I'm thinking we should maybe get Elle a cage. She's not going to be able to come with me--I don't think my methods for keeping myself restrained would work for her, and I'm not sure I would recognize her as mine, as a friend. It might be all we can do to keep her from harming herself or others, if she does change."

"If I wanted drugs, I'd contact my connect." Riko responded to Mercy, but still she went back to her search now a little curious now as to what drugs that Mercy would be keeping in their home, her search didn't end with her finding any drugs though, however she did find a stack of pictures. Riko pulled them out, not exactly masking her movements as she went through them, looking over them slowly in turn, she recognized quite easily the b***h who had broken in to their house and tried to kidnap Elle with her group of flunkies. Riko made a face at her picture, the dumb grin on her face, she tossed the picture to the side, and continued looking. She settled on a picture of Mercy and a woman that Riko didn't recognize, and paused on it while Mercy began speaking about the full moon. Riko looked up at the wolf, pursing her lips, she didn't like the idea of putting Elle inside of a cage, but if it was for the girls safety there wasn't much of an argument that Riko could really make. She only shrugged in response because she honestly had nothing else she could realistically add. "Guess that's something else we will have to buy," Riko said, holding up the picture for Mercy to see now. "Who's this?"

Mercy had expected more resistance from Riko. But, surprisingly, Riko seemed--mostly--on board with the cage idea. Huh.
And now Riko had a photo. Mercy looked up when Riko asked who the girl in the picture was, hesitated, then continued playing with Elle. "That's Leigh," she explained. "She was alpha while I was beta, and... I killed her." Maybe it was too soon to talk about that. Maybe it would always be too soon to talk about that. Riko didn't technically need to know; Shiva had popped into their lives, but for Elle, not for Mercy. Still, if Mercy and Riko were really going to raise Elle together, perhaps this should be out in the open. Riko had already shared some things about her past. Mercy snuck glances at Riko, gauging her reaction.

Riko remembered what Mercy had said about her Alpha last night, they used to have sex quite a bit and there was a level of trust that they had with eachother so much so that the Alpha had given Mercy the right to take charge while they were in bed. Riko hadn't expected to find out that Mercy had killed the woman. Riko looked at the picture again, before putting it back in the pile and placing it back into the drawer, closing it up. She didn't ask any questions about it, she didn't feel it was her place so she would just try and ignore it, though the mood had definitely shifted now because of what she had just heard. She honestly didn't know what to think now. In the distance, off down the stairs Riko heard a beeping sound, the noise the coffee maker made when it had finished heating the water and mixing the coffee, Riko nodded her head towards the noise, as if to ask if Mercy would fancy a cup.

Yep, it had been too soon.
Also, Mercy could have offered that bit of information a little more... tactfully. She could have been vague, said that things had ended badly between her and Leigh. But Mercy didn't want to be misunderstood. Especially now that Shiva was back in her life, it seemed better to tell Riko herself than let one of the werewolves from the pack do it. Mercy had killed Leigh. Not accidentally, not indirectly, but with her own two hands in what could be considered cold blood. There wasn't any other way to say it.
Mercy, feeling anxious, opened her mouth to expand, but then the coffee machine went off and Riko looked like she didn't want a conversation. s**t. She had screwed up. Mercy kissed Elle on the forehead, then climbed off of the bed to hand her to Riko. "I'm going to get a shower first. I'll be down in a bit," she said, unable to look the vampire in the eyes. Mercy left for her shower, and she went to the kitchen after she was finished to get breakfast and coffee.

Riko sat down in the kitchen with Elle in her lap, Delorna looked up from the coffee pot at Riko's approach, raising a brow when she saw that Riko was alone. "Shower." Riko said simply, nodding back up the stairs. Delorna shrugged and turned back to the pot, pouring a cup for Riko who took it out of courtesy, and started sipping it slowly. "So me and my conscience had a little talk, about you." Riko announced, placing her coffee down on the table and out of reach of Elle. "We've both seem to think that you are a little jealous." Riko stated smoothly. Delorna sputtered at that. Turning on Riko with a glare. "Me? Jealous? .... of what?" Riko didn't respond, she just grinned tauntingly at Delorna and continued to sup her coffee, to add to Delorna's salt Riko went so far as to shrug her shoulders. Before finally responding. "That I woke up in someone elses bed." Delorna had picked up a knife somewhere down the road, and was holding it to her side, in a way that would appear nonthreatening to most, but Riko saw what she was doing. "Listen here you little motherfu-" They both heard the footsteps padding towards them that caused Delorna to quiet down, she tossed the knife into the sink, and sat back on the counter. "You look less like s**t than you did 20 minutes ago, shower helped?"

(Wooah, was Delorna going to stab Riko?)
Grabbed a mug from one of the cabinets and walked over to the coffee pot. Delorna, who was on the counter, inched away from her. But she looked like she was... stewing... about something. Mercy's left brow quirked as she observed the succubus. What the hell was her problem? When she realized she had been asked a question, Mercy gave up and focused on her coffee again. "Yeah, a lot," she said. "I'm never drinking that s**t again. I think it did some permanent damage to my head."
After snatching a piece of cinnamon bread from the bread box, Mercy settled into a seat near Riko and Elle. "So, what's the agenda for today?" she asked, glancing between both of the women present. "I've gotta go into work later, but in the meantime... family bonding?" She wiggled her eyebrows playfully, obviously joking--at least with the "family" part. Delorna gagged and rolled her eyes.

"Permanent Damage? Please, no one would even notice that." Riko joked. "I do believe I suggested that you mix it, but you acted like you were too good for a bit of caution, so its not my fault." Riko said with a bit of a shrug. Riko spared a glance over to Delorna who was being a bit of a brat still doing her best to ignore Mercy. Riko rolled her eyes at the woman, she was just going to have to get over her dislike for the wolf. It wasn't exactly like they could do much avoiding each other anyway. They lived in a house together for ******** sake. Riko shook her head and looked back to Mercy when the wolf began talking. Riko only offered her a customary shrug. She didn't really have much of a plan for today outside of more bonding with Elle. Such was the life of someone who didn't need to work. "How do you suggest we go about this family bonding, Mercy?"

Mercy shrugged. She tried to think back to all of the activities her parents would do with her and her sister. Hmm, but many of her memories were from when she was older, and she figured Elle might be a little too young to go to a water park. Of course, there was always a first time for anything... No, no. Still a bad idea.
"I dunno. We could read to her," she suggested lamely. "Take a bunch of pictures to scrapbook later. Develop strategies for interrogating her boyfriend or girlfriend when she starts dating."

"Well, we won't need much of a strat for the future BF/GF. Just show them Delorna's face before she puts on her make up in the morning and we'll be go- OW!" Delorna had jabbed Riko, hard, in the ribs before the Vampire could finish speaking. Riko turned and glared at Delorna who returned the glare with one that was equally as viscous. Riko turned away from her back to Mercy while shaking her head. "I like the scrap book idea, lets go with that, I don't necessarily have any books laying around that are child friendly."

Mercy seemed skeptical. "Not any?" she asked. "What kind of books do you have, then?" Not all of Mercy's books were PG, but she had one or two that could potentially be for kids. If you left a few words... and scenes... out.
"Twilight, Fifty Shades of Gray..." Delorna teased--payback. "Anything smutty."
Mercy shook it off, officially not caring. "Whatever. Anyway, in that case, we'll take turns, and--"
Her phone beeped, alerting her that it had just received a text message. Huh, that was unusual. She had friends, sure, but not that many, and almost none who would text her. Rummaging her phone out of her pocket, she found an anonymous message.
FROM: Unknown
If you want us to trust you, show us you've got the vampire on a leash--and not the other way around.
Three guesses who that was from, and the first two didn't count. Mercy tried to keep a neutral face as she deleted the text and put her phone away. "Let's do a baby photoshoot," she suggested, eagerly, to keep the attention away from her phone. (Which, likely, no one cared what was going on with her phone, but just as a safety precaution...) She downed the rest of her coffee and stood. "We could have her depicting different scenes from Greek mythology, or, or, or--cosplaying famous paintings. Elle Looks like a convincing Mona Lisa to me."

Riko placed a hand over looked for something to throw at Delorna when the woman began speaking up listing off books. "Books on business, Stock exchange, programming." Riko said with a shrug, she didn't necessarily read books for entertainment, that is what the internet was for. "I mean we can start training her early to be just like me, she could be just as wealthy as I am by 14 with my help." Riko said confidently, but while being rich was nice, the process had been so goddamn boring. She was pretty sure Elle would hate her forever for it. Riko looked up at the sound of Mercy's phone going off, she raised a brow. She didn't remember Mercy being much of a texter, especially not usually so early in the morning. Interesting. She watched the read over the text and clock away from it not bothering to answer. Riko smirked. "Girlfriend?" Riko teased slowly, picking up on this Delorna jumped in "Feeling guilty for being dishonest?" Riko gave her a look before shaking her head. "I also don't think Elle would appreciate the Mona Lisa comparison. I don't either. Don't call my baby a man." Riko joked.
