Misty shrugged and nodded as Alex mentioned that a trainer challenged her during one of the hosted swim meets. "Yeah, I don't know if it was during the one you came to, but it was pretty common to get a challenge during those things." They seemed to be wearing the croconaw down at last, but it was already too late. One more bite and Misty's staryu was down for the count, though she wasn't surprised. She had a feeling that she was fighting a losing battle as soon as her staryu was taken out. It had still been quite an enjoyable one though. "You did great staryu, time for a well deserved rest." Misty murmured, returning the water type to it's pokeball. "Well whaddya know? You beat me." Misty grinned, meeting up with Alex in the center of the battlefield. "Here, you've earned your Cascade badge, and as a fellow water type enthusiast, I'm sure you'll make great use of this TM." She insisted, handing the items over. "When you get stronger, you better come back for a rematch! I'll be waiting." Misty winked, turning away to go heal up her team.

Well, who knows how it would have worked out, just needed two lucky rolls. lol Well, I was planning on it being Cresselia, since Starmie was also psychic, so still would have been a type thing. Blastoise is strong, but I don't want to win all the early badges that way. It was a fun battle either way and you're right, I'd hate to hold up the line. lol

It was always a good feeling to win a battle, these gym battles were always quite the challenge. No matter the outcome, it was the best way to test the skill of a trainer and their pokemon. "Nice going, Croconaw, you were awesome." Alex said while making his way out to meet Misty. As he got next to his pokemon, he patted his pokemon on the head, making sure not to touch a spike accidently. He was really proud of Croconaw sticking it out and staying strong, this was a great bonding experience for the both of them. His attention turned toward Misty as she spoke about him winning. "Yeah, it looks that way, you sure didn't make it easy, but it was quite the enjoyable battle, thanks." He took the three items into his possession as she gave them to him, this to him was the most important badge to win, so he was proud to see it in his hands. "I'm so happy to have finally earned this badge and of course, water type moves always come in handy. As for a rematch, I can't wait, I'll be sure to get really strong." Alex said with a grin, before watching as she headed off to heal up her team for the next challenger.
Alex put the items away in his bag and the badge away in the case. That was two in Kanto, the next one was back at home, a battle that didn't seem as enjoyable to him, but he'd figure out a strategy. Electric types were always a thought on his mind as a water type trainer. He pushed those thoughts out of his head and looked down to Croconaw. "Back to the pokemon center, we'll get you healed up with Marshtomp." Croconaw looked up happily to his trainer, before nodding his head.["That was fun, but I could use a long rest."]Alex chuckled to himself as he imagined what his pokemon had just said. "Thanks again, buddy." Alex spoke, before returning Croconaw to his pokeball. With that out of the way, he headed back toward Eevee who had been relaxing near one of the pools while he had been battling.

Although she wasn't one to stay back while others were fighting, Sable couldn't help but agree that it was a good thing for Mitsu to have stayed out of the fighting for the moment. The fact that, as a group, they were putting off mending up their teams until getting out of the cave made her doubly glad that at least one of them would have a full team to fend off anyone that might try to ambush them. That didn't happen though, although whether that was because of those Rockets learning not to mess with the group or that they had simply managed to avoid running into any more operatives was debatable. Either way, the group wasn't bothered any longer as they made their way out of the cave, and that was the important part. What was important was that the group was out of immediate danger and could afford to slow down a bit.
The teen chuckled at Darren's sigh of relief a bit, although it was mostly out of empathy."That's good... Potions might be handy, but I know I'm gonna need to get Oaken and that pidgey checked out at a pokemon center,"she commented. Despite the initial cheeriness, Sable frowned when the big questions of who would challenge the gym and in what order were asked."...I guess I might as well go last."There was some hesitation in the teen's voice when she spoke. She then turned and gave Gavyn a sheepish smile."I've still got a bit of training I need to take care of first, so you and Darren might as well get your badges first,"she admitted, which was true. She had intended to get some work in with her beedrill, but given everything that happened, that opportunity had slipped away. Still, it'd mean she'd be training against tougher pokemon, so she couldn't complain too much.
As the group continued on, Sable paused to grab a couple of oran berries from a nearby tree."First thing's first, though. That bronzor knocked me for a loop,"the teen commented, then glanced at the others."Once we're at the pokemon center, I'm gonna see about borrowing a room so I can get a warm shower."She then chuckled."I don't think an ice pack's gonna help much with how spread around those impacts were, so the best thing I'll be able to do is keep the muscles from getting too tense,"she explained as the group continued on their way.

Alex looked to Eevee and smiled a bit. "Alright, we managed to win, lets get back to the pokemon center." Eevee looked up toward her trainer and got back up onto her paws. The small normal type stretched, before jumping and climbing her way back up to Alex's shoulder. He helped his pokemon get back up to her normal perch and headed for the exit to the gym. Eevee was glad to be moving on, it was another victory under their belts, but she'd rather be doing the battling.["It's about time, one more badge and we're caught up to Johto."]She was still on top of everything they had done, so remembering the bages was simple. Even if it didn't seem like it, she wanted them to be as strong as they could be, she just wanted it done her way, the right way. Alex grinned, only picturing what Eevee had said, he was pretty good at understanding her by this point. With their business done at the gym, Alex headed for the door and exited back onto the street in front of the gym.

Gavyn was all sorts of relieved when they finally left the cave. He hadn't realized how stifled he had felt in the cave - though, he did have those rocket people to distract him from that. Merlin hopped out of Gavyn's arms, landing softly on the grass. "We sure gave them what for!" the clefairy commented. The spectacled male sighed a bit at his partner - he'd rather not talk more about such altercations. He was distracted from it anyways as Darren finally answered his question. Sure, Darren said he was fine, but... it really looked pretty bad. Through the slash in the arm of his shirt, the skin was already turning colors. "I-it really looks quite painful... though I suppose it could have been worse." Gavyn commented. He considered himself lucky that he hadn't been knocked around as Sable and Darren had. However, he kind of felt bad in a strange way. That he came out of the whole ordeal without hardly a scratch.
Then, Darren and Sable mentioned what the possible order would be for challenging the gym leader. "W-well, I don't mind going last..." Gavyn said. "Four out of six of your party pokemon have the advantage over Misty's pokemon. They are all, also, of a decent level. It's a guaranteed win for you." Data chimed in from Gavyn's pokedex, rather audible from the front pouch in his travel bag. As per usual, Gavyn was startled by the device speaking up. "W-well, i don't want to step on any toes.... er, If you are so sure that you'll need more training first, Sable, I suppose I could go after Darren." Gavyn finally gave his answer, not quite confident enough to be the first of the group to challenge the gym leader.
Sable went on to mention that she'd be getting a warm shower while they were at the pokemon center. It made him feel a little bad, once again, knowing that she had been banged up so much by those rockets. It wasn't long before they finally reached the pokemon center, and Merlin led the way up to the counter, hopping up. "Heal me up, milady~" the clefairy smiled at the nurse before Gav could reach the counter. She giggled a bit, and Gavyn handed over Beth's ball, a bit embarrassed by his partner. It wasn't long before Merlin and Beth were returned to him, completely healed.

Merlin sure was excited as they exited the cave, happy that they had, as he put, "given them what for". Darren chuckled in amusement at his celebratory cheering, and attempted to reassure Gavyn that his injuries weren't as bad as they looked. Gavyn didn't seem very convinced, but at least he admitted it could have been worse. "Mm... Yeah, it would have probably been my head instead if you hadn't warned me." Darren pointed out. "I don't know if I ever thanked you for that, so, thank you." He nodded gratefully to the brunette. When Darren brought up the question of the order they should challenge Misty, Sable wanted to go last due to some training she needed to do. She didn't look one hundred per-cent sure about her decision though. Darren recalled that she still had yet to train with Honey as she had wanted back in Pewter, and gave the girl a light nod in understanding. Gavyn didn't mind going last either, but given that his pokedex chimed in, suggesting that his chances of winning were pretty much guaranteed, and that Sable wanted to train some first, he offered to go after Darren instead. "I didn't know pokedexes could do that...." Darren said in awe, looking over his own and trying to find some sort of setting that he'd missed. Darren had no idea that it was actually a porygon that had spoken from inside Gavyn's dex instead.
"Well that sounds like a plan." Darren announced brightly. "I'll go first, then Gavyn can go second, then Sable." Darren reiterated what they seemed to agree on. Sable brought up a good point though, they were all pretty battered and bruised, or at least their pokemon were. Darren scowled a bit at the reminder of what the bronzong had done to Sable, but he nodded at the idea of getting to the pokemon center first to refresh themselves. "Ugh.... Yeah, a warm shower sounds great actually...." Darren's bruised shoulder agreed. It would probably be best to get a room, let the center heal Flynn up while he showered, and then by the time he was done, Flynn would probably have recovered by then. They finally made it to the pokemon center and walked inside. Merlin had no restraint in bounding right up to the counter and asking to be healed along with Beth before Gavyn could even reach the counter. Darren chuckled and handed over Flynn's pokeball next. "Just this one please, an could I get a room?" He asked. "Certainly." Nurse Joy smiled, taking Flynn's pokeball and handing him a room key. "Ah.... I guess we can all meet back up for dinner and go from there?" Darren suggested.

Of them, the most sensible was that it was probably a pokedex or something, but it seemed strange that it would give opinions on something. Reading off recorded data was one thing, but assumptions and conjecture were more in the realm of a genuine AI than just a device for storing and reading off data. Weirdness aside, it seemed that the order of gym battles was decided upon, so now the teens could focus on more pressing matters. Specifically, the injuries both pokemon and trainers suffered from the group's encounter with those Rocket operatives. The group members might have been able to patch up most of the injuries on their own, but Sable was still short on status curatives. Likewise, she didn't really have anything to revive unconscious pokemon anymore, either, and that pouch of ash she gave Darren was better off saved for an emergency. Even with the best the group could do, they would still have needed to pop into the pokemon center for a while to get everything sorted out.
It didn't take too long for the group to reach the pokemon center, although for Sable, it still took longer than she would have liked. Still, the possibility of a warm shower for her aching body pushed the teen onward the rest of the way. She didn't have quite as much energy as either Gavyn or Darren at the moment, though, and the two handily beat her to the front desk with their requests. Sable gave a tired chuckle as she watched Merlin's antics, then nodded a bit when Darren asked about their short-term plan."Sounds fine to me..."she agreed as she made her own way up to the counter, sighing afterwards in an attempt to fight off an irritating yawn.Maybe it would be better to put training and battles off until morning,the teen though, but pushed the possibility aside when it was her turn to go up to the counter."These four as well, please,"Sable requested as she handed over four pokeballs, then tried to get a hold of something that seemed to be on her shoulder."C'mon, it's alright. No one's gonna hurt you. You're just gonna get checked over by the nice lady, that's all,"she coaxed sweetly, which would probably have made her seem crazy if, when she finally brought her hand back into view, her timid joltik hadn't been in the teen's palm. Apparently, the little pokemon had been hiding under Sable's hair since the initial incident with the sandshrew, and with all these crooks bothering the group, had decided to stay hidden for the most part.
It took a bit more coaxing, but eventually Frizz was willing to be deposited into the nurse's waiting palms so that she could be looked over along with the others. Although she hadn't been hit directly by any attacks, she had been riding along while Sable was tossed around. That can't have been good for the little bug, at least from the trainer's point of view."I'd also like to borrow a room as well, please,"she requested."Of course~"the woman responded cheerfully, handing over a room key while the teen thanked her. Sable then chuckled sheepishly as she looked over at Darren and Gavyn."It, ah, might take me a bit. What with all this... Ya know..."Since words failed her, Sable made a vertical sweeping motion towards herself with her hand to indicate her outfit."It tends to take a while to get all of this stuff off."The teen gave a sheepish chuckle before a pained smile crossed her face."If you feel like I'm taking too long... Uh... Don't... Don't worry about waiting for me, alright?"she requested, then walked off to the room the key she was given was for. Jin, still in his fluffy little zorua appearance, glanced at the other trainers before following after Sable.
As the duo made their way down the hall, Jin looked up at his trainer."So..."the dark type began, earning himself a hum of acknowledgement and a glance in his direction from his trainer."It's been about a year now, right? Since we met?"It seemed like an odd opening question to the teen, and for a moment Sable was having a bit of trouble figuring out if he was right or not."Hmm... Maybe?"The teen spun on her heel so that she was facing the little zorua before proceeding to walk backwards through the hall. Sable still looked around to make sure she didn't bump into someone or miss the room she was borrowing, though."What makes you think that?"Although she had a rough idea of when she initially met Jin, all of the distractions caused Sable to lose track of the days that passed by, so she was genuinely curious about what the zorua might be using to keep track of that event. The dark type chuckled a bit at how clueless his trainer was about it."Wow, no wonder New Year's passed right by you guys,"he commented, then grinned briefly."We met shortly after Valentine's Day, and even if you haven't been keeping track of the holidays, I have. It's around that time again, judging from all the pink and heart-shaped stuff floating around in those shops, so, uh, kind obvious where that estimation comes from."
Sable nodded along with Jin's explanation, then stopped and grimaced when she managed to put two and two together."...Ah, nuts... So either it's rolling around soon or we missed it... Guess it depends on if the stuff you saw is just now getting tossed out there or is the surplus..."the teen grumbled, not really liking either option. She had even been looking forward to the day somewhat, and not just because it was the closest holiday to when she became a trainer. Given the circumstances, though, Sable wasn't entirely sure if she would rather have a bit more time or need to wait another year. The grimace grew larger as another thought struck the female trainer."...Well, crud... So much for a happy birthday..."Sable let out a sheepish chuckle as a few bitter thoughts passed through her head."It's bad enough I have a hard time remembering my birthday in the first place... Being tormented by ghosts is a horrible present..."she lamented, to which Jin raised an eyebrow."Huh? Your birthday was around then?"he asked, to which Sable gave the little fluffball a brief nod before checking the placcard next to the door she passed. Nope, not it."Yeah, more or less. My birthday's on the... Uh... I know it's early in October..."Pursing her lips for a moment, Sable let out a strained hum as she thought about it."Right... That's right. It's right when the second week of October rolls around, since it's on the eighth,"she explained, then let out a long sigh."...It's pretty sad when you can remember your parent's anniversary better than your own birthday..."she muttered, then shook her head. The teen then spun on her heel again to face forward, both to signify that the conversation was over and so that she could focus more on finding the right door.
When she eventually found it, Sable put the key in the lock and turned it. Once the door was open, she took a step inside, but paused and glanced back at Jin."Uh... Jin? You're not planning on following me in, are you?"she asked, causing the little zorua to snicker."You got a reason why I shouldn't, sis?"he countered, to which Sable gave him an unamused glare."You are a male zorua, Jin. Being in there while I get undressed does not bode well for your health,"she warned. Jin pouted a bit as the implied message was made clear."Fiiiiiiiine..."The dark type laid himself down onto the floor with a disappointed look on his face."So, what, you want me to go keep an eye on Darren instead...?"Sable raised an eyebrow at the zorua's question, although if what she was thinking happened to be right, then she certainly couldn't blame the fluffball for being a bit paranoid at the moment. She didn't entirely believe that someone would cause a commotion in the pokemon center, but anything was possible. After thinking for a moment, the teen shook her head."Nah, Darren's got his own pokemon to take care of him, and I still have most of my heavy hitters. You might as well go introduce yourself to Gavyn and hang out with him,"the teen reasoned, to which Jin nodded a bit."...Yeah, alright. Guess I'll see ya when you're ready,"he reluctantly replied before taking on his usual illusionary appearance and heading back down the hall the way he came.
With Jin finally gone, Sable made her way into the room and shut the door behind her."...Finally..."A sigh of exhaustion was mixed with her words as she dumped her stuff at the foot of the bottom bunk bed. She didn't blame Jin for wanting to be cautious, but more so than the typical awkwardness of a sentient male being around while she was changing, she didn't want the dark type to see just how worn out she felt."...Seems this is one fight I just can't win..."the teen muttered to herself as, piece by piece, she peeled her outfit off. The boots were set alongside the bed nearby its foot, but the rest of her clothes were rolled up or hastily folded (depending on the article of clothing) before being tucked into one of the plastic bags she saved from previous trips to the pokemart. If nothing else, it was a convenient way to keep them tucked away until the next time she could get the outfit washed. She then grabbed herself a pair of towels - one for her body and one for her hair - before heading into the bath and shower combination. After giving the water a bit of time to warm up, she carefully stepped in and let the water run over her for a moment before sitting down. A mix between a grunt and a sigh escaped as she bent over and fiddled with the rubber stopper for the drain. Once that was done, Sable stretched out and reclined the best she could within what space was available inside the tub and a more relaxed sigh could barely be heard over the sound of running water. She kept one foot on the stopper so that she could drain some of the water if necessary while she enjoyed what was, to her, a relaxing combination of a shower and a soak.

Gavyn shuffled a bit sheepishly as Darren thanked him for the warning earlier. He hoped that anyone would shout a 'heads up' at such a situation, and didn't feel that he deserved that much gratitude. It's not like he completely prevented Darren from getting hurt. "I-it's fine, really. I don't need thanks for such a thing... it was the right thing to do at the time... but... er, well, I'm glad you are grateful and not hurt too terribly." the brown haired male babbled a bit, fingers picking at the sleeves of his sweater. When it came to talk about the order in which they would be challenging the gym leader, Data had spoken up from his pokedex, helping him make a decision.
"Er... sorry about that... there's this pokemon in my pokedex. They... uh, like to speak up every now and then." Gavyn muttered in embarrassment when he had noticed the other two's reactions to his 'bag' speaking. Speaking of, the porygon materialized beside him, coming out of the pokedex to get a look around as Gavyn had Beth and Merlin healed. Data tilted it's polygonal head as it observed the other two trainers getting a room. "I am Data. Gavyn's technological interface 'translator'." the polygon stated, sounding a bit like some recorded message from an artificial voice program. "Gavy, let's get a room, too!" Merlin chimed in. Gavyn was startled a bit as Data had appeared, and then fidgeted at his partner's suggestion. "I-i don't know... I don't really need one. Besides, some other person might need a room right now more than I do - I'd hate to inconvenience them." Gavyn replied. The clefairy pouted briefly before letting out a small laugh. "You're too polite sometimes, Gavy. But if that's what you want, I'm fine with that." Merlin smiled.
Meanwhile, Data was analyzing the other two trainers. They certainly seemed quite beaten up from the encounter. The small group looked like they were splitting off for a bit and going to meet up again. "A-alright. I... uh, will just wait out here then." Gavyn smiled a bit awkwardly as the other two got rooms for themselves. Sable had already started towards the room she had gotten the key to, and Darren was likely to do the same soon, too. Which would leave the spectacled male with his porygon and clefairy in the lobby of the pokemon center.

Mitsu followed Darren and them from the mountain and into Cerulean. He was quiet, trying to not end up irritating them with his habit of never closing his mouth. And, he was thinking about a few things. First, those Rocket punks. What they did made no sense. If they were going after just shinines and legendaries, sure. That would make sense. But, they were after all kinds of Pokemon apparently and going through way too much trouble to get them. You could catch most Pokemon in the wild with half the effort. Thieves withough logic were stupid. Then, there was his sister's premier. She said it was next month, but never said when. Should he call and ask? Or, should he just wait for her to call him again? Having a sister was troublesome sometimes. Especially after she had just gotten done with a movie.
So lost in his thoughts, he missed everything they had said, so he wasn't aware Sable and Darren were getting rooms. Flynn looked up at his trainer and poked his leg, snapping Mitsu out of his thoughts."Huh? What is it, Flynn?""Char....""Oh. We're at the Pokemon Center already? How'd that happen? So...Where's Ezra? Maybe he's already at the gym."Flynn slumped and shook his head. Not what he was saying at all. The Charmeleon pushed against Mitsu's leg."What? What's wrong? Oh, for the love of--Mizu!"Mitsu let the black Phione out of her ball and knelt in front of her."What's Flynn trying to tell me?""He wants you to sit down or take a nap. He's worried you're exhausted.""Oh....Well, I could rest my legs for a little bit. It sounds nice."

Darren chuckled a bit as Gavyn insisted that he didn't need to be thanked. "Don't be silly! I would have been out cold if it weren't for you." Darren insisted. Gavyn's warning had helped a lot. Darren couldn't judge though. How many times had he shrugged off compliments? A lot he was sure. Was this what he was like? Man, he really needed to stop doing that if that was the case. As they discussed their gym battle order though, Darren became quite interested in Gavyn's responsive pokedex, though it apperently was not a feature in the machine itself, but rather a porygon! "Oooooohhhhh! No wonder. That makes so much more sense." Darren laughed, studiously observing the pokemon as it appeared beside Gavyn and introduced itself. "I've heard of porygon's technological abilities, but never seen them in action myself. How remarkable..." Darren grinned like a kid in a candy shop as he observed the normal type. He had to refocus however when they entered the pokemon center, needing to get Flynn healed and figure out a plan for them.
Now that they seemed to have decided on the order, Sable insisted that she was going to rest and shower, which sounded like a good idea to Darren as well, so he took a room key, though Sable also insisted that she might take some time given her heavily geared outfit. "Heh, yeah, understandable. Have you ever thought about maybe cutting that down a little?" Darren suggested with a light chuckle. She wasn't in the desert anymore after all. He caught the pained smile she gave though as she insisted they shouldn't worry about waiting for her if she was taking to long. Darren's smile faltered. "Oh... Uh.... Okay...?" He frowned, giving her a mildly concerned look, but he didn't press her, watching as she left and feeling a bit puzzled. His attention turned to Gavyn as Merlin seemed to be trying to convince him to get a room and Gavyn seemed to think that he didn't need one, or rather that others needed it more than he. "Well, if you change your mind, you can share mine." Darren offered, casting a worried glance over Gavyn's shoulder at a somewhat zombified looking Mitsu before he left. The guy sure looked spaced out, but like Sable, he didn't press the issue.
Making his way to his room, Darren unlocked the door, letting Hercules toddle in after him. Darren set his bag down on one of the two beds, and turned to the bathroom immediately. He paused for a moment to glance back at the marshtomp. "Make yourself comfortable buddy, this won't take too long, and then we can go get some food." He nodded to the water type before entering the bathroom and closing the door behind him. Hercules was more than happy to hop up onto the bed and curl up in the sheets while he waited. In the meantime, Darren turned the water on to let it warm up while he undressed and pulled a clean towel out of the linen closet. In the privacy of the bathroom, he allowed his bright expression to sober and looked over his injuries. The bruises weren't as bad as they had been after encountering the hex maniac back in October, but it was nothing to sneeze at. His jaw was red from where that twin had punched him, his back he couldn't see but it was sore from being dug into by that one rocket from the first group, and then of course, the piece de resistance, the bruise forming on his shoulder from that damn metang. Why did it seem like every time he left town, he ended up getting mauled? Darren gave a tired sigh and stepped into the warm water, letting it help wash away his pain, stress, and worries.
By the end, he was at least feeling a little bit better. His muscles were at least less tense. The bruises were still tender of course, but less apparent with every move he made. He toweled off and got dressed again before heading back into the room. Hercules was still curled up on the bed, having dosed off almost immediately. Darren chuckled, debating if he should let the marshtomp continue to sleep or if he should wake him for dinner. The little guy had gone through a lot today, so Darren figured he would leave him and bring something back, but when he tried to grab his bag, the water type woke up. "You can keep sleeping if you want Hercules. I can just bring you back some food." Darren offered with a tired smile, patting the marshtomp's head, but he hopped off the bed and waddled towards the door, glancing back at Darren with a smile. It seemed he was willing and eager to head out with him. "Heh. Alright, lets go get some dinner then." He nodded, exiting the room and locking up before heading down to the cafeteria.

Although she made sure to take the time to get herself cleaned up, for the most part Sable simply stayed in the tub and soaked in the warm water. It felt rather relaxing to not only be resting in the water, but also having the warm sprinkles from the shower head falling onto her. At least, until that water started to cool off, at which point the teen shut off the shower before it actually got cold. The majority of the water in the tub was still comfortable, though, so Sable went back to laying in the tub and letting her troubles drift away with the steam coming up from the water. With how calm the situation now was, the teen was starting to feel rather tired and she had a difficult time keeping her eyes open.I'll just get some food later...The thought passed through Sable's head as she pulled the plug on the bath and got out. At the moment, rest was more important to her than some food, so she toweled herself off somewhat before deciding she was dry enough and slipping on something so she wasn't completely bare. Deciding things were good enough for her, Sable then sat down on the bed before laying onto her side and rolling over, not even bothering to cover herself with the blanket as she dozed off for a nap.
Now in the usual human appearance that he preferred to take on, Jin made his way back down the hall while his trainer was busy taking care of whatever needs she had. It bothered him somewhat, but she did have a point. It wasn't like he was the only decently-trained pokemon she had. Besides, they were in a pokemon center, so it wasn't likely that anyone would actually try bringing trouble to the group while they were in the building. It could still happen, but to call those odds low was to be on the generous side. The dark type had a tilted frown as he shook his head, but quickly took on a more cheerful expression as he reached the lobby that was at the end of the hall. It looked like both Mitsu and Gavyn were out there, so Jin walked over to the duo."Hey~ How are things going?"he asked casually as he approached, trying to keep things on the pleasant side.

Gavyn bashfully dropped his gaze down to his feet as Darren insisted that he would have been out cold if it weren't for his warning. That was... very likely, but still... he didn't feel like his courtesy shout was worth this much thanks. Then Data had show itself, and was inspecting the other humans. Merlin had suggested Gavyn get a room, too, but he didn't want to potentially inconvenience someone else in doing so. The Clefairy perked up as Darren had offered to share his room, if Gavy changed his mind. "Quite a generous offer, Darren!" Merlin smiled. Gavyn appreciated the offer, as well. "Th-thank you, Darren. I'll keep it in mind for later." he replied, giving a small wave as Darren left to the room he had rented.
Data, now that two humans had left to their rooms, turned it's attention over to Mitsu. He looked vaguely familiar, as if Data had come across his picture somewhere on the net before, but wasn't interested enough to ask about it. Gavyn, on the other hand, didn't expect Mitsu to still be standing nearby, and felt bad for having not acknowledged him since they got out of the cave. How terribly rude. "Er... uh, are you feeling alright, Mitsu? You didn't get hurt by any of that chaos in the mountain, did you...?" he asked with quite a lot of awkwardness. He wasn't sure of how he could start a decent conversation with the other. But he figured it was worth an attempt, since it seemed they'd be in the lobby together till Sable and Darren got back. Unless Mitsu had other things to do?
Gavyn tensed a bit when another male with short black hair joined them, asking how things were going. It was really casual, so the spectacled male was confused. He ... didn't know this guy. The brown haired male smiled sheepishly. Since finding himself in this timeline, he hadn't been overly social, but he was much too kind to not attempt a response. "I-i suppose things are going well for me." he replied.

Alex had began the trip back to the pokemon center, still extremely happy about winning his second badge in Kanto. Luckily for him, he already knew where the next gym was, but unfortunately, it wasn't the best for somebody obsessed with water pokemon. For now, he didn't want to think about that as he continued to walk through the streets. It didn't take him long to get back as he entered the pokemon center once more. After a few times in Cerulean, Alex knew the way quite well. He headed for the front desk, knowing the drill for healing his pokemon back to full health. As usual, Nurse Joy was there to greet him as he placed the pokeballs for Marshtomp and Croconaw down on the counter. She took both of them and headed into the back in order to heal his pokemon. Alex found a spot on a nearby couch and took a seat, Eevee jumping down to the cushion next to him. He had his badge case in hand and was looking at the Cascade badge that he had just won. It had taken a really long time to achieve this goal, but he knew he had a long way to go still. Either way, for the time being, he felt like it was a good idea to remember all he had gone through to get to this point.

After serving himself something to eat as well as feeding his pokemon, Darren had wanted to keep waiting to see if anyone else would show up for dinner, but looking at the clock, if he waited much longer, the gym would close, and he would have to wait until the morning to challenge Misty. There was still no word on Flynn either.... Darren shivered in his booth. Now wasn't the time to be thinking negative thoughts, but.... They still always managed to creep in. Darren gave a hoarse laugh and shook his head. Lapis put a comforting hand on his shoulder, which jolted Darren upright in surprise until he saw that it was only his florges. He'd forgotten she had psychic now. She could probably at least sense his thoughts. She gave a little nod, as if to confirm, and Darren gave a tired smile. "Sorry Lapis.... Don't mind me. I'll be fine." Darren really lie and insist that he was just tired like he would with anyone else. With a sigh, he began returning his pokemon to their pokeballs and decided to get going. He passed a quick word to Nurse Joy, letting her know that he was stepping out for a bit, and that he would be back to check on Flynn later. Afterwards, he made his way out of the center and towards the Cerulean Gym.
It was a nice night out. A bit chilly for this time of year, but it was relaxing. Darren glanced up at the night sky, dark with few stars. Grandpa used to tell him that city lights made it harder to see the stars at night, even when the sky was clear, and that was why you saw more stars in the wilderness. It seemed to be true here. He wondered what Cerulean Cape looked like from here. He wanted to look, but he knew he didn't have the time, so instead he quickened his pace towards the gym. Walking inside, it seemed he was just in time. The last few swimmers were exiting the pools, toweling off and heading into their separate locker rooms. Darren got the attention of one girl. "Excuse me, I know it's late, but where is Misty...? I was hoping to get a battle in before the gym closed." He asked politely. "Late? Yeah no kidding. Misty's packing up over there. It's up to her whether or not you'll be battling tonight." She suggested, pointing to the orange haired girl in the back of the gym. "Ah! Thank you." Darren nodded, trotting quickly over to Misty. "Excuse me! I'm sorry, but can I get a battle please?" Darren asked, slowing his trot down as he approached. "Hahhhh..... Yeah I heard. You sure are pushing the clock aren't you?" Misty responded haughtily. "Y-yeah.... I would have come earlier but... We ran into trouble with some Rockets coming through Mt. Moon and...." He faltered. "Rockets? Ugh. Seriously? Those bozos better not be starting trouble in my town again. I'll kick their smelly butts right back out!" Darren chuckled. She was nothing if not feisty. "Fine, we'll give you a battle, but only cause you worked so hard to get here. Think of it as a reward for giving those Rockets hell for me." Misty beamed, stepping back to one side of the stadium and sending out her staryu.
Darren breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you! I promise I'll make this quick." Darren blurted, thinking that it was nice to assure her that he wouldn't take up too much of her time, but then froze at the realization of how cocky that sounded. "Quick?" Misty asked in a dangerous tone. "Er....! Uh.... I meant... I didn't...!" Darren choked on his own poorly chosen words. "Well I'd just like to see you try to make this quick buster!" She challenged angrily. Darren was already pale, having no idea how to respond. He felt it was probably better to stop talking and just battle, so he sent out Pascal and got on with it.

Misty returned her Starmie without a word, her lips pressing together into a firm line. The orange haired girl managed to relax her face after gazing down at her pokeball, and when she next lifted her head she was smirking. "Guess that wasn't as 'quick' as you imagined, huh?" she teased, striding across the stadium to meet Darren on his side of the battlefield. She was known for her quick temper, so it wasn't much of a surprise for her to have flared up when the brunette had claimed that their battle would've been quick; thinking about it now she realized it'd just been a poor choice of words. "I think I know how those Rockets feel," Misty mused before she pulled from her swim suit's pocket a, somewhat damp, Cascade badge. "Here you are, one well-earned Cascade badge. Plus a little something extra: Water Pulse and Cut, put 'em to good use, will ya?" The gym leader was forced to move over to a medium-sized treasure chest to collect, and give, Darren his discs but afterwards, she paused, her expression thoughtful. "Oh, one more thing, if you see those Rockets again tell them if they even think of stepping foot into Cerulean, Misty'll be waiting for them."
