I met them the day I moved in, and we get along really well, luckily! Do you know Farvardin? She's one of my roommates. She's the girl with the bad sense of direction, but she's really nice and friendly. I really like her! And my other roommates too, of course. Yeah..." She grinned. "Oh, but I'm sad that we didn't get to be roommates. You're in another dorm... Falke, right? Do you like it there? Do you have nice roommates?" She grabbed another board as she spoke before anyone could judge her for chatting when she should be working.

He recognized a flash of green moving about the makeshift fence and Hwan raised a hand in greeting to the inseparable Amalia and Yesenia. It was good to see them in high spirits and he motioned the duo over to join him and the other blondes. Man, Jeong was going to be so jealous looking over and seeing him surrounded by so many girls. Life was awesome.
"You know, we never did get that cake. In Trost." The return to the subject of food had been unintentional but at least it wasn't about produce! He badly wanted to return to the town to visit his sister as well as enjoy a little freedom and luxury that life at the academy did not allow for. He worked some more wire around the planks as he talked and hoped the sun would give them a break soon. Sheesh, he was starting to sweat again.

But of course, the twin had to take it the next step further into flirting and suddenly he was in her bubble and wayyy closer than she would have expected. All just to say a corny joke about her being hot. Ren just rolled her eyes at him. She would have pushed him playfully but with how klutzy she was that probably wasn't the best idea. Especially when they were trying to build a fence. "Food does sound good! Maybe after this fence gets finished we should go grab something!" That is, if the fence was ever gonna get finished. It seemed like it was taking awhile. Bu then again, it was going around quite a large area.

"What's your favorite one?" Her voice was soft and gentle, would she like a similar flower or something wild and bright? The stutter didn't bother him as much as he would've thought one would. Giving her a pleasant smile, he appeared to be slowing slightly to her pace. Without Hwan beside him the twin fell into matching Shakuntala's energy as to not overwhelm her. Despite appearing shy she didn't seem the type to actually get overwhelmed but just in case...
"Hey what branch are you thinking of going into?" Jeong-jae was still a bit surprised Shakuntala had joined the military though maybe she hadn't had much of a choice. He wondered what goal she had in mind though, besides living a decent life. They had to make a choice when they graduated and what kind of person did she think she'd be at that time? He already knew he was following his brother into the scouts even though it unnerved him.
As they talked, he continued to build the fence along the perimeter Tuggle had drawn, making slow and steady progress.

Shakuntala tilted her head at his inquiry. Her favorite? She never really considered this -- she knew more about horses and meat than she did about vegetables and, specifically, flowers. That was more of her her sister, Sita's, specialty. She just admired their colors and hardiness until the touch of winter's frost. She simplified her response to, "D-dandelions..." Despite knowing her choice was likely an oddity, weeds were flowers too, right? She smiled a little as she stepped over one to fit another post alongside Jeong's.
"T-the, um, scouts," she answered next with a slight fidget. Shakuntala didn't mind admitting her choice, but the surprise it provoked always worried her. She had accepted by now that she did not seem like the type to head into the survey corps and going for the horses alone was probably an unlikely notion, but her thoughts were final on the matter.

Zinnia was quiet, searching Lenore's face when she mentioned her parents in case it was time to change the subject again. Luckily, it seemed that discussing the future wasn't distressing to her friend-- or at least, not that Zinnia could tell. "I don't know," she said brightly. "They're all good options. The Scouting Legion seems like a smart idea; I think that they will really make a difference. Plus," she added, lowering her voice cautiously, "to be able to see outside the walls..." She looked around nervously, but luckily no one was close enough to hear her blasphemy. She continued normally, "If I was good enough to get into the military police, that might be fun too. Everyone wants to go to the inner ring, so it must be nice there. But, I mean, only the best of the best get into the military police, and the garrison is a good branch too. I'd be able to help people and uphold the law there." She sighed heavily. "I don't know. I guess it's a good thing we have three years to decide, because I have no idea where I should go yet." She paused, and an idea suddenly occurred to her. "Hey! Let's promise to get into the same branch, okay? I wouldn't want us to get separated. No matter where we go-- inside the walls or out-- we'll have each other's backs, right?"

Zin had good points about everything, Lenore thought solemnly. Her parents had told her about life outside the walls, and from their description it was a beautiful, albeit titan-filled, landscape. She had never heard anything about the inside of Wall Sina, however, but her friend did have a point - it must be nice if everyone wanted to go there. Lenore nodded silently at Zin's admittance. She also had no idea where to go, after all. At her suggestion, however, the twelve year old supplied the older girl with a small smile. "Yeah."

Hwan watched the tense interaction between Amalia and Yesenia and filed it away for later gossip. He'd thought the two best friends did everything together so to see them argue was somewhat uncomfortable. Yesenia went to work on the fence to avoid eye contact and he tried to distract the green girl.
"No worries, haha, I'll go with you, Ama. Hey, Renna, you should come too." His hands motioned between the two girls as if to introduce them. He was a social butterfly himself and found it fun to bring people together that might not have met otherwise. He wondered if the two would get along as the green girl was well put together but dry while the blonde had a good heart but struggled to contain her clumsiness.
"Or maybe we could make our own cake with strawberries we grow here. What do you girls think?" Hwan was not a great cook, as he had previously confessed, but maybe with the help of others he'd be able to throw together something presentable. What he lacked in talent, he made up for with intense optimism. He was the same way with this fence as he worked with the wire. It didn't look great but it would hold.

Rolling for: 8/20/14 Number rolled: 70 Current sturdiness total: 2922 Rennati had gotten into a sort of rhythm with the fence and talking with everyone. She awas actually really proud of herself for being able to keep working on the fence and she hadn't tripped and fallen at all! It was a big thing for her and she was so happy that she was able to get something done! Her parents would probably be very surprised! Looking up from the fence when Hwan started talking to her about going somewhere and then something about a cake. Cake? She liked cake. Standing up to stretch her legs a little, she started walking the short distance to where Hwan was working on the fence with a green haired girl. And of course, Ren had thought too soon and the toe of her shoe got caught on a post someone had left by itself and she felt herself loosing balance. Hwan wasn't too far away from her so she found herself gripping onto his shoulder and kept her from falling. "I'm sorry!" She said immediately as she straightened herself. Then, to the green haired girl, she held out her hand to shake, " "Hi I'm Rennati!" She said happily, if not a little embarrassed.
