With the party going on, Zoey was somehow distracted from her misfortune. A classmate invited her over, she couldn't say no regardless of how much she wished to. Even so, it seemed like the right choice. Everyone, so lively. Despite knowing little to no faces at all. It was bright, cozy, cheerful. A mixture of positive emotions which was something she could appreciate.
Observing the decorations, listening to the music and cheerful chatter, smelling the delicious goodies that Lord Death had prepared for them. This place was a bless in all senses.
Breaking through the crowd, she began daydreaming.
"They would had loved this... I'm so sure they would."
Eyes became distant. Not noticing the moment she stepped on the dance floor in which Lady Yosuzume graced her companions with her impecable motions and timing. Zoey didn't even knew when she graced her shoulder with hers. Such a clumsy event. But even that would taint the grace on Yosuzume's steps. So no harm was done at the Rhythm, but it was enough for Zoey to wake up.
"uh.. I'm so sorry. I wasn't paying attention."
Staring at Lady Yosuzume, she couldn't help but be reminded of her mother. Hair dark as night, a strong, decisive gaze which would bound to no one. How she missed her. But before she could be kidnaped back into daydreams, Zoey broke contact and made an apologetic reverence.
"Please forgive me, it will not happen again."
At the eyes of a simple collector or a fine connoisseur it could be tell that the fragments of chaos had began their motion in the life of the pink haired weapon. Still, the positive ambience of this place was enough to keep her in check from falling. Words of wisdom would be appreciated. (Illo) Or maybe a tomboyish breakthrough to keep her awake. (Xuza)
Being at the middle of the dance floor, Zoey would be easy to spot should Lucas paid some attention. The boy was already looking for a familiar face. Or someone to break the ice with. And now he had a grand variety.
Among the crowd was the monk meditating on Stylish clothes, the tomboyish figure that promised some fun, especially with the air of conspiracy around. And in the middle of the dance room, a familiar face.
He had a buffet of possibilities. Why just pick one?
Yosuzume had been communicating with her familiars, and momentarily dropped her guard. Still Yatagaratsu was watching an didn't seem the girl. The young witch momentarily turns to Zoey. Halting Yatagaratsu's protest she approuches and speaks softly.
No need to apologize, but if I might ask...what's wrong with you? I sense a great miss balance in you. Something I've only felt from on other. [/color
Suit As Lucas was making his rounds between drinks, searching for familiar faces, and dancing along to particularly energetic songs, a shock of pink hair struck his view. He managed a dull smirk upon recognizing Zoey, and made long strides towards her. In their way of meeting, she'd bumped into a dark-haired woman. He paused as they spoke, wondering if perhaps he may interrupt something. Then he decided better of it, and went to introduce himself as well. "Zoey,"he greeted mildly, his face remaining as remote as ever, despite his warm tone and aura."It's good to see you here. And hello to you too, ma'am,"he greeted with a cordial little bow, though it felt alien to him. In the setting, he decided his customary hug-and-kiss kind of greeting might have been misconstrued or inappropriate. Still, this just felt plain silly."Lucas Bhakta."
Zoey could see the kindness in Yosuzume's words. There was no harm done, and she didn't seem like a bad person either. All the more reason to avoid troubling her at all.
"It's alright, I just had a rough day. I'm sorry about the intrusion"
Zoey put an effort this time, trying to give her best smile. And while it was heart warming, she had focused too much on her smile that let her guard down upon the window of her soul, her eyes. Which, while they just seemed to be a little deeper than usual. A connoisseur of this lost art could tell, the eyes just died on her. Not that she became blind. But rather was an explicit message from the eyes. There had been a recent trauma. The soul barely hanged the line between redemption and chaos. There was thirst for revenge. There was grief of loss. Something important.
Zoey had the looks of an ordinary healthy girl. Which meant the clue was just fresh, the rest of the body had not time to assimilate and digest the current situation the pink haired girl was in.
The fragments of Chaos had now been placed before Yosuzume, it would be up to her wit to decipher them should she wished to know the truth, as most humans would foolishly barricade themselves between walls of lies. But thanks to this resemblance between Yosuzume and that special someone of this girl that the Sparrow Witch was able to peek at these fragments.
Inminent loss Loved one... ones... plural... close... close loves ones... inner circles.... fam...
Why would the fragments jump at Yosuzume with such clarity? Could it be that there was something the witch could relate to?
Breaking the tension between the two females, Lucas barged in, as a knight in shinning armor to save them both from a possible awkward silence.
With Lucas here, the closest person she had left besides her brother. Zoey would quickly hold onto his arm. Her grip growing firmly, hiding the small shiver that escaped from her silhouette.
"Lucas!"
She barely had time to call his name before her body acted on her own. She was already close to her friend. She didn't hide her eyes anymore. Which meant she had already accepted Lucas's presence despite her small phobia towards boys.
"Oh.. we were just... It was an accident. They were dancing... and I was careless. I'm sorry I'm such a cluts today."
Zoey seemed to grow stronger the more she spent with Lucas, slowly overcoming her shiver, whatever troubled her. Yosuzume would have to be quick to decipher the fragments before the evidence was removed from her. Would she make it out in time?
Yosuzume could feel something in this girl. Her senses finely attune to magic and such other energies. Yatagaratsu eyed the words clearly and was cautious. He didn't notice that Yosuzume now had her mothers grimoire in her hands. The ancient book fed itself greedily and chronicled the message in its depth before vanishing. Before Yatagaratsu could speak he felt a pulse from his lady to secure the casket, and send word to Ren. He obeyed immediately, leaving his lady, but watching as one of the attendant flew out the academy. Yosuzume widens her senses and makes out the message.
You.....can you.....use no. It can't be. But I feel it. How? Who are you? What happened to you? How can you use Chaos?
Herald rolled his eyes as Emma stuck her tongue out at him before reluctantly following her to the food table. He watched her pick up one of the toothpicks, commenting on rich people food. "Why so little? And why on a toothpick?" He wondered aloud. He watched Emma eat the food and seem to enjoy it. Intrigued he slowly walked over and took one of the small toothpicks that Emma had taken, examining it for a moment before popping it in his mouth, toothpick and all. He chewed on it for a moment before swallowing. "The meat is good," he admitted. "But the toothpick takes away from the flavor."
Gently placing his hand onto Death's shoulder then gets it a nice pat. " Give me the lately feedback on the issue when the time is right. I'm going to chat with Victoria. " Taking his hand off as he moves away from the main group before giving them a bow - heading over to where the young child was.

☽"I think it just has to do with the fact that is is an appetizer or something?" Emma replied as she popped another piece in her mouth. Again, while still chewing on the food, her gaze went around the room. She saw Shira then and someone else... he smelled familiar. Emma stared at the man then for a few more seconds before her attention went to Herald who ended up swallowing the food and the toothpick. "I am not food expert but I don't think you are supposed to eat the toothpick..." she told him, doing her best to stifle a laugh. "Thank God we are going through this before the wedding..." a voice in her head stated. She took another piece and just ate the meat before setting the toothpick down on the plate "Like that," she told him.☾

Charlotte ended up getting a drink and took a few sips of it before hearing a familiar voice. Her expression brightened as she saw Bridget "Hello there! You know if you weren't comfortable with coming, you didn't have to, Bridget," she told the girl with a soft smile. Her ears rung slightly as she happened to hear the man that was talking to Lord Death. She continued focusing on Bridget though she was quietly listening to Death as well. Death would nod to Nariaki as he dismissed himself before looking at Nox again. He frowned slightly as the man mentioned the two artifacts. "Is that so..." he began. He paused for a moment before speaking again "If you don't mind, could this wait until when things settle down here? Some of the guests here are pretty observant. If they see me leave with you upstairs or something, they are going to know something is wrong," Death offered.
Dress Bridget nodded her head to show her understanding. Charlotte did have a point- she'd agreed to come. Some things worked out much better in theory. She chastised her communicative rabbit with a locking of her blue eyes to his shiny, black button ones, and gave him a tiny shake to make her point clear. He nodded his head too, but crossed his arms stubbornly."Psh. So what if you wanted to come? You can hardly decide whether you even want to leave your room. It's your fault AND hers, so don't look at me like that."
Her lips pursed in annoyance, and she gave a look to Charlotte. Whether it was apologetic, confused, or pleading even she didn't know. She nibbled a little nervously at her lip as she gazed around the ballroom. At least a familiar face, especially the one that had brought even the slightest semblance of order to her life, calmed her."Whatever,"Peter finally huffed, picking up on her new train of thought and blurting it out for her."At least we know where you are if we need you. Don't go to far, 'kay?"
Annoyed with his brashness, even if it was nothing new to her, she finally gave up on controlling her channelled thoughts and shoved him into the satchel she always had with her. Among the new addition of a patchwork rabbit, the bag was filled to the brim with chess pieces, playing cards and the like. That, and a single, small music box.

Xuza Uriel: "Angel of Death"
Xuza saw groups forming, a couple being cute over h'ordeuvres, a guy meditating, a crow, and Charlotte giving her expert advice. For those reasons she felt a little unsure about herself. Sure, she wasn't afraid of being alone--normally--but when it was the aim of the evening to mingle you'd better not be left doing the sip dance (all in the shoulders with that one). So she sucked it up and wandered over to the group which was growing larger. She vaguely remembered the pink haired one. They talked on a beach, right?
"Um... Excuse me," she started shyly, winding her foot into the carpet as she tried her best to make this barge-in look as casual as possible. "Can I, um, join you guys?"
Oh, just kill me now...

Meanwhile Illo had felt the breeze from outside reaching his rough skin. He smiled and got up to gravitate toward its subtle pull, taking a cup of bubble tea for the journey. If anybody wanted to talk with him they would find him sitting on the steps of the entrance with tea in hand gazing peacefully at the sunset.

Hearing Death, Nox would sigh and then shirk his shoulders, giving off the aura of someone who didn't really care whether or not others heard or if it would cause some panic. With the look of pure boredom on his face, Nox finally responded, "I see, well, whatever you'd like to do is fine with me. It's not like it's that important." Nox came off as a little sarcastic, but in truth he truly didn't think it was important, well to him, at least. "Well now, with that issue aside, there is something I've always wanted to ask a member of the Death family. Though, I bet your father would know more about this than you, but you'll have to do." he added. "Have you ever wondered whether or not, your role as Death is something that the human race wanted? I mean, have you ever considered the fact that, maybe, just maybe, the world would be a much better place without Death?"

How long has it been for the vampire, a long time. To be honest, his memory was fuzzy and hazy - was he there when Victoria was still an infant before he departed? His mind was trailing off once again, he needs to stop that. Making his way towards to the balcony to find that long haired girl there eating quietly, Nariaki smiled lightly as the being soon reached the area quietly stepping besides her to look out of the distance. " How are you enjoying the party, little one? Is the food good? " He asked her in a gentle fashion.

Boys were playing around with the drama about the ancient artifacts Nox had told her about. For Noire, it wasn't hard to see Nox's disappointment he truly wished to met with the previous Lord Death one last time, but life wasn't always fair. However, she thought her husband's sadness was growing out of hand. Sure he was honest and didn't meant harm... most of the time. But at this current situation, things may grow out of control if not handled carefully. A simple squeeze around his waist was her call on Nox, meaning she was still there. Followed by a kiss upon his cheek as to demand just a little more attention. Perhaps it would be better for Nox not to focus too much on the new Lord Death but to their task at hand which was far greater than a mere talk regarding artifacts. Plus Victoria was still within the building.
"It's alright dear, although the question may be too much... at least I would feel bad if someone barged in at my party and asked me if I ever considered that life would have been better if I weren't here. That you could grow to be so much more without my presence. It's a saddening thought."
While she wouldn't directly tell Nox to stop, she was aware that sometimes her dear husband could be carried away and lead further away from their main goal. Her job was to keep him focused... among other tasks.
Resting by her shoulder, Anew cuddled the man, she would then look at Lord Death. He was indeed far younger than expected. "We've travelled from far away... as you may guess we've met the previous Lord Death and my husband's humor with the Shinigami was always like this. Do not think ill of him. That's just how he is. Feeling like he's lost something important by the time of your succession to the throne. An old friend, a rival. Someone to look up to. It's not your fault. So don't take it to heart... both of you."
She made sure to emphasize this last line. There was no need to disturb the party or it's mood. Not now at the very least. Or that was the way she thought about it.
As Zoey felt better with Lucas around, she would soften up her stress. However, that meant that the fragments of chaos would soon be departing from Yosuzume's eyes as well.
The witch would ask the pink haired girl the meaning of this. Zoey's eyes widened, turning over to see the lady in dark hair. She was beautiful, just like mother was. Her eyes appeared to be tired. Yesterday had been a rough night for her.
"Me?"
Zoey suddenly cling onto Lucas tighter, she was frightened. Maybe not at Yosuzume directly but the image she portrayed, and the question she asked.
"I-I didn't... what? no... what are you talking about?"
Zoey was confused. Not everyone was educated in the arts of magic, but there were even fewer who were attune to appreciate chaos in it's many forms. A gift, that cannot be seen, neither harnessed by those who couldn't see. Zoey was completely unaware of it. Only eyes with expertise on the matter, such as Yosuzume's could appreciate this mind game the fragments of chaos had brought for this party.
(( Spoilers are for Yosuzume's eyes only. To avoid confusion ))
Another message showed up: Sides of the same coin... Lost of loved ones... lost of inner circle... Fall of the Heist... Fall of the Nura... Sides of the same coin... The gambler is near...
Not much after that. Xuza showed up. Breaking the tension Zoey had with Yosuzume just now as she quickly held onto Lucas before turning on Zoey's direction.
"Who?.. wait..."
When Zoey made the effort to remember Xuza, who was met during the summer before Zoey was killed by Despair and reborn by the Devil Machine. There was no record at all of Xuza on Zoey's current life. It was then when the fragments of chaos twirled around, above Zoey's head before a void was formed. Then, streams of light, containing data of a past life would gracefully fall and sink beneath the pink mane. A memory was brought forth, and finally the name showed up. Zoey wasn't able to control Chaos, Chaos was the puppeteer of this young child.
After some thought the name finally came back to her. "X-xuza sempai..." Finally grasping her image, linking it to the summer in which they barely talked but rather enjoyed the beach in company of another pink haired woman... a mysterious Sword master.
"How are you?"
Zoey began feeling much better, with known faces around her, her grip on Lucas loosened a little, preventing the poor boy from loosing an arm at the hands of Zoey.
With Zoey finally falling into tranquility, the fragments of chaos would disappear once again inside the pink haired girl, giggling, laughing, echoing the same message they gave Yosuzume over and over again before fading onto obscurity.
"Of course you can join us... I'm actually surprised to meet you here. I was invited by a classmate... but she's not here... I felt really lonely here so I thought perhaps I should take a sit... but I felt dizzy and I didn't watch my step... so I accidentally bumped onto this lady..."
Zoey commented before signaling Xuza and Lucas towards Yosuzume.
"I got a headache after that but I'm feeling better now. I'm sorry to worry you."
Having said that, she turned on Yosuzume's direction, her eyes were serious this time. She pulled a purple vial and showed it to Yosuzume. "I'm sorry but I don't understand your question... the only thing I've done is buying this perfume from a lady yesterday..."
With that, she hoped to satisfy the lady. Hopefully they could all spend a nice time at the party?
