Hematite saw Fois step into a hole in a tree and grinned. That meant he couldn't get away! She floated over until she was just in front of the whole before resuming her swaggering.

Fois hasn't been exactly keeping an eye out for Hematite, fortunately for him. He saw something glisten in the trunk and he whipped around to peck at it. When he felt a presence behind him, she turned around and screeched at the Haunter before bursting out of the cozy little hole.

Bah, why did he have to turn away at exactly the wrong moment? Hematite made a face in irritation, but chased after him to try and get in his line of sight again.

Fois refuses to look back. He continues flying away from Hematite. He glanced up at a branch and attempted to use Extrasensory on it-- hoping that the branch would snap under the psychic force and slow the Haunter down.

The branch did snap, but Hematite didn't even bother dodging. She just let herself go gaseous so it passed right through her. Then she maneuvered herself into Fois's line of sight again and went back to swaggering.

Fois quickly flipped around at the sight of purple gas. By doing this, he bumped into a tree and slid back to the ground. He shook the dizziness out of his head and tried to snap some more branches as he tried to orient himself again.

Hematite continued to ignore the sound of cracking branches. (While Lyle thought this stadium would need some serious replanting when the battle was done.) The Haunter just kept swaying and making faces.

Noticing that the branches were not stopping Hematite at all Fois shoved his face into the tree. He refused to move an inch and he flapped his wings to keep the Haunter away.

When Hematite saw Fois was refusing to look at her, she pouted. But she refused to be thwarted so easily. She floated over to the bird and started tickling him instead, cackling as she did so.

Well, until something touch his tail. That place was off limits! He turned around, ready to give Hematite a piece of his mind, but instead he fell right into her trap and started to wobble.
