Aminah (Post 4)
Aminah couldn't help but laugh when the long shot paid off. "Well, you're in luck. I happen to know Aminah very personally." She laughed again, finding the whole irony of it very funny. She almost very literally fell into Kaalnia's lap. She did consider Dyakida a friend, and she couldn't imagine that Dyakida would be fighting, so it made sense that she would want to see those who she knew before the war started.
The leaders of the people convened again and gave another set of information and Aminah sighed. "I guess we're gonna keep getting info on this piece by piece right?" Aminah crossed her arms, grazing over the crowd for Vescillea and Enlil before turning her sights back to Kaalnia and Ethelfleade. "It doesn't seem like there's much more time to wander, does it? Are you two going to be fighting today?"
Sathe (Post 4)
Sathe was in the middle of mixing a salve when the hand came down on her shoulder. She gave a jump and the salve and its container fell on top of the crate she was working on. Putting a hand to her chest she turned to laugh at her assailant. "Geez... you pick a great time to scare someone." She felt a tingle radiate outward from the spot he touched. Why did she have to get like this around him? She wanted to reach out and grab a hold of his hand; just that little bit of reassurance and contact for herself. It was like he was her guilty pleasure.
She picked up the thick salve and wiped away the little flecks that had gotten onto the crate. A small shifter girl, Antiope, who couldn't possibly be much older than herself called out to those who were staying behind, and the other elders made their comments before those around them resumed their conversation.
With this she did put her hand on Gaddok's. "Are you going out there today?" She had chosen to stay behind, and was more than worried about her sister already. She hoped that this boy she barely knew wasn't going out there too. She could already feel the next wave of tingling working its way from her fingertips.

Ilyra This was very unlike her best friend to be fiddling with her clothing as much, and to be looking around. Did something happen in Zena that Tahigwa wasn't telling her? However what came out of Tahigwa's mouth was anything but what Ilyra was expecting.
At first she froze, unsure of what to say or do, but than she took Tahigwa's face in her hands and kissed her. Pulling away she laughed. "I love you too silly! Why else would I have traveled all over looking for you. I've always wanted to be more than your friend but I was always to scared to tell you." she said with a laugh. In retrospect her fear now seemed silly.
As the elders spoke she nodded, holding out a hand towards Tahigwa. "Let's go find our family and than get into position." she said with a smile. Tahigwa liked her, no she loved her. Even if they were going to war this was a wonderful day.

Ethelfleade: post 5: Kaalnia, AminahWhat kind of luck did this girl have? "Seems you're pretty lucky to have one of the people you're looking for find you!" Ethelfleade said with a laugh. Of course, no conversation could go too long without getting interrupted. At least these interruptions were about the war. Little by little they were gaining more and more information. It was somewhat annoying to just have the information be leaking through like a clogged creek, but, Fleade would take the information she could get. "I plan on fighting today. I'm only a prentice, so I hope that I can do more good than getting in the way." She said with a nervous laugh.

Aysun Post 4 Aysun rolled his eyes at Kennet, "Sure thing, bug eyes." He said, finding his distaste for the boy growing in leaps and bounds, a part of him wanting nothing more then to show him what was what. He had his mother's blood in him after all, he was destine to be a powerful monster on the battlefield just like her! A thought that caused him to give pause, not liking that thought at all. It was one thing for their mother to battle with the beasts around Yera, it was another thing for her to battle against the 'monsters' from Oba as Uncle Jacin called them. He didn't want her to fight with such people, not if they were a monstrous race. When the stupid bug commented about how his dad was going to die out on the battlefield he gave a hiss, "You really should shut up! Are you trying to jinx him? You should be praying hard to the spirits of Tale that he will come home not just write him off!" How he wanted that much more to just lay into him... instead he turned to look at Chandra as his brother spoke to him, calming down only because Chandra bid him to do so, "You're right, we should. We should go to Gram's tent with her and the others, it's probably the safest place to be right now." Their gram, as well as the others, would keep them safe. Not to mention that they might end up needing the extra hands. When Chandra mentioned that the others should come as well it took everything he had to tell him he didn't want to stupid bug boy along. Swallowing the words he looked at the other two sets of twins and said, "If you want you came come with us, our Gram is going to be helping the wounded, as are our aunts Reva and Vera, their twins too just like us." He told them, not sure if that would get them to want to come along more or not. Turning to his brother he gave his hand a squeeze, "It will be alright, you know how strong our family is. If they all stick together they will send those morons from Oba packing!" He heard the elders starting to call out orders and that had him tightening his hold on Chandra that much more, "Stay close to me. Everyone is going to start moving to where they need to be now, I don't want to lose anyone." Turning to the other four he held out a hand, "We should all hold hands so nobody gets lost." As much as he didn't like the one boy he didn't want anyone, even him, to get lost. As such everyone sticking together and holding hands between here and their Gram's tent would be for the best!

Rishima Post 4 As the elders started to call out the orders for everyone Rishima dragged in a deep breath, let it out slowly, then turned to look around at the others in the group, "It seems that it's time, isn't it?" As much as he wished that this was just a nice, peaceful time in which they were gathering as friends but it was far from that. Instead it was time for them to get ready to go to battle against the warriors of Oba. The halfbreed lifted a hand, resting it over his heart, trying to calm the thudding, almost certain that it would be heard by those who were closest to him. He'd been preparing for this since the war had been fortold to them. He couldn't panic now, now was the time that he was to show his strength and prepare for the fight that was to come. He couldn't let his emotions get the best of him when he wanted so badly to look after Gerraden, Jerarda, and his various other friends and sisters. "Best that we join those that we will be battling alongside soon, huh?" What Jerarda had said, about them battling the wrong enemy, was swirling around in his head but he couldn't worry about that now. Once they dealt with this threat then they would be able to deal with that other enemy he thought to himself though he couldn't help but wonder who she meant. The other, closer Earthlings, maybe? He couldn't say for certain though, she didn't really seem to be looking upon them in an aggressive manner at the moment. Maybe someone else had caught her eye? One battle at a time though he told himself, tightening his hold on his weapon, and said, "One hour." He mused to himself, knowing full well that a short amount of time like that was going to feel like an eternity. Turning to give Gerraden he said, "Stay close to me." As though he ever had to worry about that, Gerraden followed close at his heels rather often in the past so he doubted now would be any different.

Jacinthus Post 3 Jacinthus looked down at his mage for a moment, then gave a bit of a chuckle, "When do I ever do anything stupid?" He asked, giving him a smile, then hugged him that much tighter to his side, giving the top of his head a kiss, "As for trying to play hero I will do my best to keep my heroics to a minnimum." Though if Takoda or any member of his family were put in danger then he might have to be more on the heroic side. He wasn't going to let these bastards get their hands on his family after all. Giving his mate a smile he then said, "I will surivive, love, so will you, I will make sure of it. Afterwards, when the war is over, perhaps you can reward me?" He gave him a wink before he turned his head to the side, hearing a familiar voice, that Enki, calling out for archers and spell casters, "That would be the two of us, are going to stick with me, Takoda, or will you be going to stay with the healers?" He knew that his mate was able to chose given his powers, and either option was alright by Jacin. He would either be where Jacinthus could keep an eye on him or he would be back away from the fight, he supposed that it was just up to Takoda which he wanted to do. Turning his attention to Chalcedony he gave the man a long look, "Since you and Keilana are going to be fighting in the same area I expect you to keep an eye on her. If she is harmed I will end up." He told the shield barer, then gave him a smile, "Be safe." Chalcedony Post 3 Chalcedony looked over at Jacinthus, making a face as the other threatened his life before giving him a smile that made him want to punch the guy. Shaking his head though he said, "Of course I will be keeping an eye on her you idiot." He told him, "You better keep an eye on Takoda." He'd hate to have to murder Jacinthus but if he let the softhearted healer get hurt he'd beat him into the dirt with his shield. Turning his attention back to Keilana he gave her a smile, "I will see to the boy's safety if that happens but you have to promise me that you will do the same. If it looks like we are in trouble I will fend them off and give you a chance to run. You are their mother, they need you most." Best that she was the one to escape if it came down to one or the other he thought to himself. He just hoped that it didn't come to that, he didn't feel as though he'd been able to spend near enough time with them, wasn't able to hold them enough, tell them enough, before this damned war got in the way. How he wished he'd done even more then he had for them... Shaking his head, shoving those thoughts aside, vowing that this wouldn't be the end and that they would see their kids again he said, "We have a little bit more time, best that we prepare." He told Keilana. Jacinthus and Takoda would likely be going to join the other ranged fighters meaning it would be just the two of them until they joined the group they would be going with.

Post 5 Uquin with a root in the Healing Tents
Rather than come off as nervous to Uquin, Biroki seemed determined. If anything he was making it clear they'd use everything they could, when the time came. Nodding quickly at the question, Uquin set the root aside and instead started on another batch of that strange Jahaurian salve Biroki had shown them before.
Something must have been happening outside the tent, because the level of energy seemed to skyrocket - the nervous teaching and preparations of before, with a steady hum throughout the camp of people conversing, was turning more intense. More people came running past the tents, conversations were drawing to a close, and final preparations were soon underway. Uquin felt it just as keenly, his shoulders stiffening, and a cold sweat breaking over him despite it all.
He wasn't on the front lines - he wasn't even in the battle, and yet his mind couldn't get over the fact that he was still very much at risk here. It was terrifying - and exhilarating, all at once. With another batch of salve underway and slowly simmering, Uquin turned and began to go through the sacks of supplies, shifting them as neatly as he could out of the way so they'd have room to set up bunks for the incoming wounded. "Master Sage - have you ever been to war?" Uquin suddenly asked, feeling such a question might be pushing too far, but needing to speak to someone, and the other prentices were busying themselves with the healing tent as well.

Samoset post 4 Samoset turned slowly towards Aysun again as he yelled at his brother and made a face between "Are you insane?" and "He's going to kill you if you keep this up", before abruptly tugging his brother to his side with a death grip. "No. More. Okay?" He huffed, nervously. "Aisha, our great mommy, wouldn't let our daddy get hurt, or anyone. I believe she knows your spirits and works together with them, everyone will be okay!" He reached out for Aysun's free hand and smiled, hoping his words would be of some help to diffuse the situation. "I agree, holding hands sounds best! However, I think Kennet should hold onto my ARM, instead." He turned to his brother and gave him the same look he gave to Aysun. Kennet better not try anything stupid, or he'd have to use one of daddy's hammer techniques with a stick on his head. He was terrified and he wasn't having any of this stupidity today. Kennet post 4 Aysun might have needed stitches if Samoset hadn't grabbed Kennet's arm in the way he did. The sour faced boy clenched his fists, wiped the tears from his eyes, and sighed. Okay, he wouldn't beat anyone up, at least not today. He deliberately looked away from his brother as he was given "the stare", the look that Samoset had learned from their father and all of the elders that Kennet could point at, and begrudgingly clung to his brother's arm. This was so stupid, holding hands, letting their parents go off to be slaughtered, why couldn't they just send the elders and be done with it? He gazed over to where Ikkio and Ikuri stood, puffed out his cheeks, and waved his hand. "Since we have to hold hands, can I hold hands with one of you?" He asked.

DraconicFeline Moving both of them to look for their spots with the elders. Yaholo post 5 Yaholo's head turned the second he heard Yansa's voice calling out through the crowd, and he moved to adjust his hammer upon his back. This was it, the final hour, it was time to fall in line for battle. He took a deep breath, turned to Ruelash, and gave him a quick pat on the shoulder. "I trust I'll be seeing you at the end of all of this." He said. "We can have a rematch where ever you chose, I felt that Tale gave me an unfair advantage. Perhaps Zena?" Parting words given, the Massif jogged over towards his elder, Yansa, and gave her a quick bow. "Please position me wherever you feel the most need, Elder Yansa." He said. "I won't let you down." Rastian post 5 Well, so much for tallying the medicines beforehand. The Monk raised his hand to his forehead and gave his temples a brief rub, before turning to face Hijil. "I apologize, I need to go meet with Elder Enlil before anything else, now." He sighed, offering the Guard a smile. "But, we're meeting up with the same group, it seems, so I'll only be gone a short moment. Meet you by Yaholo and the others!" He hustled off from Hijil's side and made a beeline for Enlil and Vescillea. There was a short pause between the approach and greeting where he gathered himself once more, and smiled as best he could. "Enlil, Vescillea," He greeted, giving a nod to each. "I just wanted to ensure that we were on good terms before we set foot into this uncharted territory. If there is anything that I can do for you to make up for my actions in the past, consider it done."

DraconicFeline Hope you don't mind if I send Oggie over to Enki for a moment. |3 Suhuba Enki (Oggie doesn't want to be a scout, he just wants to greet the only elder he recognizes) Ogbonna post 5 Ogbonna wanted to answer Nua's question and opened his mouth to explain why he chose his path, but what came out instead had him turning his entire body around. "Enki!" He exclaimed, his expression growing very serious. Of all of the elders he had seen today, Enki was the only one that really mattered to him. He had only heard of Vescillea and Enlil from his uncles, Yansa was someone Yaholo was either afraid of or respected, and Freya was married to the big man who warned everyone about the king in the first place. They were important to some of these people here, but the only elder Ogbonna wanted to impress was Enki. He stood, gave a "one minute" signal to Nua, and wandered straight up to where Enki was standing among the willing scouts. There, he paused, bowed, and looked the elder straight in the eye. "I may not want to be a scout, Enki, but I hope you know that I am determined to be the best guard I can be." He said. "And, I wish you the best."

Pahana post 3 Pahana let out a sharp squeak as the crowds suddenly began to shift around her, and lunged out for her brother's arm as he jogged past. Oh... This... This was too much for her to grasp! Her lip began to quiver and her knees buckled together, it was taking all of her will just to keep herself off the ground. Then, a voice called out from behind her, and she turned her head. A small shifter woman, an elder, who was organizing those who were staying behind. She paused, wavering back and forth, before deciding to wander towards her. "I'm here to help..." She greeted, her voice barely above a whisper. "...Is there something I can do that involves..." She found herself at a loss for words, a sigh escaping the cavern that was her mouth. "I don't know what to do, really..."

a pet dino Tahigwa's in a mix of bliss and anxiety. She has a girlfriend and is going to war. She's going to be a little craaaay. XD Tahigwa post 5 Tahigwa could have fainted right then and there after being kissed by Ilyra, but instead, she resorted to a brief, though high pitched squeal, and grabbed her girlfriend's hand for a typical tug in a random direction. "WE ARE SOUL MATES, ILYRA!" She exclaimed, bouncing up and down. Suddenly, she was home, everything was fine, she was safe and... Nope, she was still going to war. But, at least, now, she wasn't going to war with her best friend, but her girlfriend. GIRLFRIEND. HER GIRLFRIEND. "Family..." She sighed, before suddenly popping back into reality. "OH! Yaho, Yaho! I NEED TO FIND MY BROTHER!" She tugged Ilyra furiously. "Where did he go? He was sitting with Rast-" Oh, well, Rastian had moved, crap. "Never mind! Do you see him?"

Eira Post 3 Eira blew a couple more kisses before she gave pause, turning to look toward the elders as they started to call out various orders to those who were within earshot. She gave a little sigh, crossing her arms under her ample chest, then cocked her head to one side, "Seems that it's about to get underway. We have to be ready, it's not going to be long before we are needed for more then just boosting morale." She told her group. She didn't much care for the fact that such wonderful male specimen were going to come back to her all beat up but she meant to do all that she could to help. She wasn't a healer but that didn't mean that she couldn't help! They would work hard to see as many lives saved as possible she vowed to herself. Turning to glance at the others he gave them all a sweet smile, how she loved them all and, as the mistress of this group, she would keep them safe as well. Best that she kept her ears open, learn all that she could from the patients, and if things started to get too dangerous she'd see her group moved back. For now though she felt that where they were set up should be safe enough for a group of noncombatants, "Makani, you keep close to Sinny just in case, alright? Gyuri, you stick close to Borra and I... though I suppose if the need arose you could probably carry all four of us off at once, huh?" She said, giving him a little wink before she went back to watching the crowd and listening in. Gyuri Post 3 Gyuri looked donw at Borra as he leaned against him, his mismatched eyes going a little wide, his cheeks coloring a little, before he smiled. This wasn't so bad, not at all, a real boost to his morale that was for certain. Even knowing that the war was just about to start a part of him couldn't help but to be a little excited given the bit of attention that Borra was showing him. His words about Eira being the best weapon made him give a little chuckle, "Perhaps." He could be right, what better way to distract the enemy then with their flirty boss after all? Soon enough Eira was giving out orders, and as the leader of the group it was something she was good at already. He gave a nod of his head when he was given the task of sticking close to her and Borra though he meant to do his best to keep his eyes on all of them. He found himself glancing between them all as she mentioned him carrying all four of them off and he found himself debating if he could. Hm... well, he'd probably be able to carry two of them but he supposed they would see if the need for him to do so arose. Makani Post 3 Makani gave a soft chuckle before he said, "Well, I think that you are doing better then usual as far as Eira goes. I know her and her habits well, she doesn't care for other women because she sees them as being competition for various things. You though, she chats with you, let's you close, doesn't try to sabatoge you. I think that you are probably the closest thing that Eira has to a female friend. It's good for her." She needed more friends he thought to himself, feeling that the troupe was probably a good way for her to get them. Even if she treated it as business he knew better, the way that she talked to those in the group, she cared for them, even Sin'qua. "Eh? Why am I here? Well... I wanted to help. No offense but our siblings are a bit on the dumb side. Oblivious, naive, and maybe that makes them sweet back home but here... well, I fear that it would leave them vulnerable. Gyuri is only one man, he can't do everything, I will aid him where I can, however I can." He didn't want for anyone in their group get hurt and if that meant using his power to protect them he would. He just hoped that it wouldn't come to that. He'd much rather that they stayed back here, safe and taking care of those that needed their help... or, if possible, do nothing. He'd rather just end up sitting around bored if it meant there was nobody in need of healing on their side. He doubted it would be so but it would still be nice.

Alek swallowed and nodded. On the one hand, he was reluctant to remain parted from his twin for any great length of time, especially without even telling her where he was. On the other, he knew that if he stayed away her disappointment might dull over time, tempered by the fact that he would probably come home a little more sane than he felt at the moment. Even now, removed from the snow, their underground home, and Zena, his attack seemed far away and easier to bear. Speaking of attacks... He turned his attention to the elders for a moment, finally comprehending the things they were telling the crowd. "Oh... oh! Scouts and battlers and... things. I suppose you have to go?" He seemed to lose mass somehow as he pulled his arms closer to his body and hunched slightly, but his withdrawal was nothing compared to what it had been even minutes before. He gave her a small smile. "I'll think on your offer. And even if I don't stay, I'll definitely be back for a visit."

(DraconicFeline RL has been kicking my butt six ways to Sunday I just wanted to say thank you for keeping Mella up in the meta *hugs* you are my hero for this. Thank you) Mella Post 3 Healer’s tentsMella followed the healers listening trying to understand what was needed and expected. When the topic of blood came up she thought she would faint, though when a basic healing slave was being made she smiled thinking how simple it was and how similar it was to making paints. “I-I can do this part.” She spoke aloud not thinking about it and moved forward to taking the tools. The smells were strange but once she found out what to mix it was easy enough. She smiled thinking that perhaps helping the healers wouldn’t be too bad as long as she didn’t have to deal with the blood and guts. Besides there were actual healers here who knew how to do that kind of compassion that was needed to take care of those that were hurting and she didn’t think she could do that unless it was just to listen. She smiled at the others there happy she could be of use here in the healer’s tent. “um if it’s just mixing things I would be fine working on this kind of thing while others take care of the wounded. I… I’m not so good with blood.” She had a light blush on her cheeks. “But I can’t really fight either and want to help out if I can.” BarAmal Post 3 Edges of camp heading in.He heard announcements were being made when the words of others below him drifted up. His ears perked up. Things were finally being set in motion. He couldn’t well drop out of the tree as he was so he put his bow over a shoulder and worked his way down carefully he would feel rather foolish if he fell now and had to be taken to the healers tents before the fighting even started. One his way down he was clumsy enough to slice the palm of his hand. It was a small gash and it didn’t’ really hurt but there was a bit of blood. Pressing his tongue on it he headed into the camp not quite sure where the healer’s tent was. Where ever it was he wasn’t going to head there. They might put a bandage on it or put slave on it but he didn’t need that. It was a minor cut at best.
