"Hmm, well the book seems to be assembled in the form of a journal or diary so unless you meet this Lilith in person, I'd imagine the answer to be a no. Hardly seems like the type of book one would find in a library." Roxanne replied, her mindless fingers slowly beginning to braid Eric's hair.

"I suppose you're right. Still, I don't understand why I have this distinct feeling that intensifies just by flipping a page." His eyes stopped staring at the book and instead to Roxanne's beautiful face. "Is this only happening to me?"

"While you haven't described what feeling you are feeling, I can only base my answer on what I've experienced." Roxanne started, shifting her pregnant bulk a tad as she'd been sitting in the same spot for a while now. "But I would say no, because I too have felt feeling when reading a book. You tend to feel some sort of connection with the characters and you can't wait to figure out what happens to them next."

Eric helped her shift her weight around by sitting back up straight. She had enough weight to deal with, and Roxane already had her maternal fun. He began to trace a circle around her belly button. "I'm not sure how to describe what i'm feeling. Only that flipping further page to page intensifies what I feel burning in my heart. It feels hot and cool at the same time, the cool mostly."

"I'm not sure how to diagnose that particular feeling..." Roxanne admits with a smile. "It could just be the after effects of whatever cloaked the book's text to begin with..."
"Shall I take a turn at reading the book? Maybe that will help..."

"Would you please?" He asked her with a kiss on her cheek to sweeten the deal. Everyone was long asleep. They could do whatever they wanted, so long as they weren't noisy about it. "I've been reading all this time, I can use a break."

"Of course..." Roxanne replied, taking the book from Eric's hands. Perching the book atop her belly, Roxanne opened it to where they'd left off. "Hmmm, it appears the author of the book changed here. Or at least the handwriting did, it seems like Lilith's words still just written by a different hand."

"Perhaps it was the Blood Knight. Lilith's arm was broken..."
---------------
Two whole weeks past as the two were recovering from their injuries. Being that his major injury were some burns, Lloyd would be the one to pay off their debts to the people of the hamlet by taking care of some pests for them. It was the least he could do, and the "Paladin Way" after all.
He was with Lilith, who was walking these days. They were getting some supplies for while they were here.

"Makes sense to me..."
----------------------------------
Lilith hobbled along to Lloyd's left on a lone wooden crutch that the village carpenter had crafted for her. Normally she would have been using two crutches but with her right arm in a sling, that was next to impossible.
"So what are we gathering today?" Lilith asked.

Lloyd stretched his arms. "Whatever we can use to prepare a decent meal ourselves. I need some real food for a change." He answered Lilith as they entered the marketplace, everyone was trying get get a sale today.

"Be nice, the tavern has reasonable food and they gave us those rooms for free." Lilith countered, giving him a light kick in the ankle with her good leg.
"How about what that guy's selling?" She adds, nodding her head towards a market stall where a man was selling large slabs of meat. "We can always donate the leftover meat to the tavern..."

Lloyd responded with giving her behind a good smacking. Not that she could wear her armor in that predicament, so it was felt by both. "That looks good to me, I'll take it!"
It was then a male child nearby tugged on Lilith's leg. He was holding an apple, but had not the money to pay for it. "Could you be so kind to, please?"

Not wanting to start a scene in public like this, Lilith let the encounter drop after the butt smack.
"Buy one of those pieces of meat, I'll buy us some fresh bread and this apple." Lilith said, taking the apple from the child. Hobbling over to the vendors, she did as she said and purchased a fresh loaf of bread as well as the apple.
"Here you go." She said, handing it back to the child.

"Apple?" He blinked and noticed the small boy huddled by her leg. He sighed and shook his head. "Can't feed the world." Muttered Lloyd.
The boy smiled and bowed his head. "Thank you" He said sweetly and took a bite into the apple as he headed back to his friends. Turns out he was the only one without a meal until now.
Lloyd returned two her side with the meat in tow. "Paladin duty or just a soft spot for children?"

"Probably a little of both..." Lilith replied with a smile as she handed the loaf of bread off to Lloyd. "I'm a sucker for a cute face, probably why I'll never own a pet..."
