Gregory would admit that casting mentally drained him, but it had no effect upon his tip top physical condition. He saw the barrel of the weapon being leveled at him and reacted even as his spell was en-route to the target. He performed a roll to the right and felt the ground shake as the round hit where he had been a half second before, spraying him with dirt clods. He was going to have to start playing rough. He stretched out his hand and focused on a patch of ground halfway between them.

It's always easier to work with an element that is there than make my own

Den Cordov
Again a section of the ground began to shimmer, as it had before.
Med
The shimmering area grew larger, taking up 6 feet across.
Bris
Violently, the chunk of earth tore from the ground and fell away, leaving behind a globe of solid rock that measured six feet in diameter. Immediately it hurtled towards Gammu at 50 MPH.

Marg groaned on the ground, content to let all hell break out around him right now. It was all he could do. The ground, it was so soft, so inviting, and he was still in quite a bit of hurt.

The demon screeched, snapping it's wings closed. It sensed blood, as he followed after Sarielle. His wings broke open at the last moment, letting him skim low along the ground as Sarielle herself was going. He was salivating at the mouth, his left hand outstretched towards the angel. The spark formed, and was building again as he cut around smoke plumes and explosions, looking for a clear, clean lock on the woman.

Nimble as a dancer the jets flared and he was moving latterally. The time it took to get all that dirt in the air was time enough to give him a hint of what the man was planning. Depending upon the speed of his suit he kicked down on the ground and was in the air again. Flanking around his side Gammu was charging in at the man. A riot shield clamped to his left forearm shielding most of his body as his right traveled to stun batton held on the inner rim of the shield. Holding the weapon so that his hand was positioned in the middle he swung the weapon so the side bar would catch him.

((Not a shotgun exactly. 15mm muzzle, which is smaller. Gauss rounds hold no primer and are naturally smaller, and I've got a box magazine loaded. 25 to start, down by seven shots fired total. Has a thirty millimeter launcher mounted under the barrel, though. Semiautomatic fire, too. No pump involved.))

((Didn't you sheathe your sword? Need quick hands to draw after a gunshot. Eh, I won't argue.))

She did it again, not once, but twice. Gamma's mask still held the evil grin as his tusk-tipped metal jaws closed. Still aimed at the close target, he fired once more.

This time an impact fuse flashbang from the launcher. Just like the one he had used before; it would cause momentary blindness and deafness for those in the area.

And even as Gamma fired again at Rage, Owle launched her attack at the armored menace.

Having no mental defenses, Gamma would suddenly feel that his armor was scorching, burning hot...so hot that he felt he would be burned alive if he didn't get out of it soon. Even as it was, if it was on him another round he would feel excruciating pain...

And then Owle was blinded, deafened, and suspended in the air when the flashbang went off. She kept track of those around her by her mind senses alone, and meant to avoid anyone that came too close.

((There are ways to dampen and counter the effects of Owle's mental attack. I'll see what you think, and what you do in your next post, and tell you if it gets any better.))

Gregory had time throughout Gammu's fancing maneuvering to loose his shield. Drawing his sword from the built in sheath in the front of the shield, he held it in his right hand and the shield in his left. He brought up his left hand just in time to take the impact of Gammu's baton; the sheer weight and strength of the man still knocked him back, forcing him to back somersault to his feet again.

Ouch! I blocked that and it still hurt!

Even as Gregory steadied himself, the flashbang went off and his ears started ringing. Thankfully he was facing away from Gamma and had a reasonable amount of distance from the man, so the flashbang had little effect.

Gregory charged at Gammu, bringing his sword first up and then sweeping it diagonally down to chop at his right thigh, hoping he couldn't move the bulky riot shield in time.

Owle's voice coming to her as it did, dimly muffled by the gunfire and the general chaos of battle but definitely near her in the air, caused her almost aggressive flight to waver a bit. She recovered quickly enough; thank god her wings, if not her clothes and hair, were at least drying out a bit, and she was gaining some maneuverability back.

She didn't have time for greetings now...the aura of sheer filth was still far too close.

Sarielle's grey eyes were turned downward, still searching for her elusive sword. There, was that a glimmer ahead?

The former angel had only time for this thought before the light grew unbearable, followed by a deafening bang. Tucking her head defensively behind her arms and hands all too late, her foot snagged on some unseen bit of debris and she was tumbling to the ground.

Sharp pain shot through her left arm as she whizzed by a jagged stone, unearthed earlier by the upheaval.

She couldn't see, she couldn't hear. Her one relief was the now erratic flight of the demon which had pursued her, as it writhed in pain from the light and the sound.

((Crap, my bad. Spaced those attacks, but I'll respond still.))

Not giving the man any time to put up much of an attack Gammu pressed the advantage. Charging in after him he positioned the shield that was large enough to cover half his body with a slight shift of his arm. As the weapon collided with the shield he swept his arm fowards and our as he brought the baton down again, a thumb activated the stun fuction and as the edge came down upon Greg's shoulder thousands of kilovolts were discharged in the motion. The ceramic armour protecting Gammu as it didn't conduct.

Boom. Flash bang. The demon felt his eyes burn, perhaps more than a normal mortals would have. With no sense of balance, no hearing, no sight, the demon felt his knee hit the ground. Next thing he knew, he was head over heels, crashing, rolling, and taking more than a few licks.

"What now..." Marg moaned, as not only was he still hurting, but now was seeing lights and hard of hearing, being quite a distance from the explosion.

Had his opponent been left-handed, the situation would've been significantly uglier. As it was, it was an easy task for him to swing his shield up and slam it against Gammu's inner arm, knocking the hand and baton back and away from him. He used the momentum of the slam to push himself away, separating himself from Gammu by a few feet. Hoping his opponent would take a second to regain his balance, he slid his sword into the shield sheathe and focused.

Den Cordov
The ground shimmered halfway between them. Fully aware that his opponent knew about Gregory's rune magic, as he had attacked both Gammu and Gamma with it already, he anticipated how Gammu might react.
Klend
Rather than shooting straight up, the earthen spike Gregory formed out of the ground manifested diagonally at Gammu's midsection. The spike's tip hurtled at Gammu with the speed of a spear thrust and the force of three cubic feet of stone, significantly more than any melee weapon wielded by a human could muster.

Not giving Greg that time his right arm flung out, sending the baton twirling through the air. Whether it hit the man didn't matter, what did though was closing the distance between them. Moving in close enough that his attack was meaningless Gammu charged with his shield infront of him as his right hand was slightly out from his body, the massive armoured gauntlet open for a grappling attack.

Sarielle felt, rather than heard, her own heartbeat as it pounded painfully against her ribcage. Or maybe she had hit something...

A low grunt signaled she'd pushed herself up on her elbows, and grey eyes fluttered open ever so slightly, letting in the barest slit of light.

It hurt, but it was bearable. She didn't strive for anymore just yet.

Her ears rang, but she could hear nothing else. Another low grunt, and Sarielle was on her knees. She could make out the barest outlines of shadows...but whether it was a person or a pile of rubble next to her, she couldn't honestly tell. Sarielle winced mentally. Maybe she should have just stayed down.

[I went ahead because I didn't feel like the attacks directly affected me...but now that I'm down on the ground, I think I'll hold off until judgement call posted or the dispute's settled. ^^]

The weapon missed as Gregory ducked beneath it, but the damage was done. His spell had been interrupted.

Gregory started to reach across to his shield, intent on unsheathing his sword, but realized that he would never get a chance to use it before the armored man got too close for a swing. Knowing that even his extensive physical training wouldn't stand up to the enhanced strength of the man's armor, he had no intention of getting into a wrestling match with him. Leaning back and using a hand on the ground to stabilize himself, he snapped a kick at the running man's shin, hoping to topple him.
