Nodding to Terra, Shun resumed in tending to his weapons when he heard Xiu speaking towards him, regarding their newcomers. He didn't look up, but he could have sworn he felt a pair of eyes on him when she said to make sure that the refugees felt welcome.

Just as long as they don't do anything to harm any of them.

It wasn't until he heard Riley asking him about shoes that he lifted his head up from his work.

"I've asked Terra to fetch you a pair. She should be back shortly," he replied simply.

It couldn't be too hard for her to find some after all. Hopefully they would fit as well.

Nodding, Etzer threw his own long braid behind him as he went to gather the supplies carefully, tying string around the rockets as directed.

He walked a little way away from the group for safety, stabbing the sticks into the dirt and eyeing how far apart the fireworks were before satisfactorily nodding.

Glancing over to West, the ice mage realized he had nothing to light them with. Sheepishly, he gave a grin and waved at him, pointing to the rockets that were lined up neatly in a row.

Such a simple thing to live for, so small a thing to look foreword to. Mot hoped for her that she did make it back, that the Kingdom would be as it was. Maybe if it did, he could show her fireworks every night.

"Something to live for, huh? A little thing like fireworks." He chuckled softly. "That's good. That's really, really good." A good start to a new life. Maybe one day something bigger than explosions in the sky would bring her happiness too. Some other purpose to give her life meaning.

Mot looked to the dark man hesitantly, flashes of bad memories training with him giving him goosebumps of Fear. Shoes were being sent for, thankfully. "So, you've not worn shoes before? Gosh, they'll be rather uncomfortable for you at first... I hope she chooses a simple pair.."

A few minutes later Terra reappeared, a pair of red slippers with a decent sole in her hands. She pulled to a stop in front of Riley, her breath a bit short as she bowed and held out the shoes to the other female.

"I have... brought you shoes, honorable Tortoise," she said, peeking up through her bangs with a little smile. "Please allow me," she added, kneeling down to help her put them on.

Gene could only give a lightly amused look at Westus and Levi, shaking her head as she took a sip of white peach tea. Ah, young love - something the illusions teacher often found lacking in her own life. She knew love, had known love, but wasn't truly in love at the moment. She had her friends; she was content.

A sip more of tea, and she turned her attentions toward the King. Visitors? A look gave her answers; the silver Kingdom. Something had happened to them? It was apparent from Xiu's speech.

They had fallen. Death was already swinging his sickle among the ripe heads of grain. A final sip of her tea as she let it all sink in. The harvest had come.

Now on his feet he looked back to the one that had finally regained herself from laughing and grinned to the female. Nodding for the welcome he gave a small head bow in return to be polite responding cheerfully, "mostly though I'm fairly sure you are to thank for that so, thank you." Barely keeping his balance thanks to achy knees he wrapped around Rosy as she hugged him trying not to fall backwards. Use to her being affectionate from their childhood he responded with a gentle laugh while patting her back. "Well your glad I'm not I can see so that makes up for running out on me." There as a little bite to his words but he was forgiving of at least this person to others he would be sure to tease and annoy more out of irritation but not Rosy, she was his friend.

His only friend. Spinar's smile twisted into an emotionless look at his own mental reminder of himself being all but friendless. He had such a fabulous conscious, a low chuckle escaped his lips as his head tilted in the direction of the female whom was speaking again. Xiuying. Red Kingdom's King. Spinars lips spread wide and he just laughed again before apologizing, "thank you for the kind welcome King." A tip of his head was given before he grinned a little sheepishly and rubbed over the back of it, what a marvelous first meeting to the king..at least he made her laugh.

The loud whistle of the firework caught his attention, snapping to look up he cursed under his breath while thinking not again. Spotting the firework he let out a deep breath and relaxed down. Luckily the kingdom wasn't deciding spontaneously combust but instead seemed to be in celebration."Appears so." smiling to the offer of the hand he accepts and curls his own around Rosy's. When the King confirmed the celebration his lips stretched back into a pleasant grin, nothing like a good night to wash away worries but what was this news the King was referring to?

A curious look was given before he started to follow after the King. Moving behind her with the others step for step while taking in the sights of the halls they were led through and humming with appreciation for a few design details. The Kingdom of dreams certainly looked the part didn't it he thought with a hint of amusement as they entered the garden. A quick flicker of the gardens with his blues and he landed on the man from before, his thoughts on seeing the other had been cut short when the King yet again grabbed his attention. A war between the remaining Seven Kingdoms will break out soon? Interesting. Silver hair tickled his forehead as he turned to gaze upon the King listening to her words then casting a glance towards the people who had been addressed. Giving a squeeze to Rosy's hand he grinned to her before letting go of it, "Hm." They really didn't look like they were hostile people but a number of them seemed to be consumed in their own lives and happenings.

All she had time for was a shake of her head before shoes were actually brought to her. She hadn't expected them, even though Shun had requested for the girl to bring a pair - she didn't think things were as easy as that. When the shoes were placed by her feet, Riley's hands slid away from Mot just enough to bend down, and pick one of them up. She had no real interest in wearing them yet - she just held them closer, inspecting their design with absolute intensity.

Ahh, look how beautiful they are. They must be.. the most beautiful shoes in the world. She flickered her gaze to Terra, her eyes turning to crescents in delight. Where did you find the most beautiful of shoes, my dear? They are too good for my feet. Look- She held one up for Mot to see, and her heart sank in sudden horrific realization. She left the shoe on the ground, thanked the girl one last time, and even allowed her to put them on, as she returned to Mot with the most heartbroken of looks.

Forgive me sir, She whispered. I do not even know your name. It was the grandest faux pas, and she expected him to leave once he realized what terrible manners she had.

He supposed he should have been honored that he had been smacked by the queen, but West felt nothing even approaching privilege. He felt embarrassed. And angry.

"I didn't...!" he growled, digging his fingers into the explosives in his hands before realizing just how truly stupid that probably was. He forced his gaze to the floor. "No. I was not... playing games." He couldn't very well tell her he was testing the imperviousness of virgins, now could he? Out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of Etzer's wave and turned toward the boy. "The rest will go off as planned. Your highness. I'm being summoned. I must go. Business, you understand."

West hurried back to his box without a backward glance, pulling out a number of long, slender matches. He rejoined Etzer, brandishing them at the mage. "These are what we'll use when it's time to begin. Not now. I haven't set up the rest." No, he had been getting beaten about the head for circumstances that were kind of mostly not his fault. "I had business with the Phoenix."

Terra nodded, not getting the chance to explain that there was an entire room dedicated just to brand new slippers for guests as well as servants in the palace. It was huge. She had picked out one of her favorite pairs, though, so she was happy they were liked! She was smiling as she bowed again, having done her duty, and leaving them to their conversation with a soft excuse.

She wanted to make sure Demi had done his job (her job) properly :T.

Sheridan had slipped off on his own, and thus had missed much of the activities since the marking. But he had not been idle nor had he spent his time in vain. He had returned to his home, searching through various drawings, blue prints, and plans for the ones he sought. Plans for catapults, siege engines, and various defenses. He had hoped the time would never come that he would need these, but it seemed fate had decided otherwise.

Finding the plans he sought, and assuring himself that his family would be as well protected as they could be, Sheridan turned and made his way back to the palace. A quite sigh of resolution, and ignoring for the moment whatever events were going on, he sought out the tortoises. Seeing that one of them was occupied, he elected to approach the other, Gene.

"I believe you may find these useful."

He held out his hand, offering the rolled up blue prints. There may have been a lot of them.

Clyde simply stood in the garden, munching on some Injeolmi which was nicely laid out with different types of food and tea. He made a mental note of the visitors whom the king introduced before going back to munching on the food. He was hungry okay.

Rosy smiles as they come upon the other in the garden, only to pause as the King address them all. Bowing her head in respect to them all, she stood straight back up as she glance around. She wasn't really sure what to do at this point. Her eyes gaze towards the other two Silvers, before looking to Spinar and the other girl. It wasn't until Spinar lets her hand go, did she actually move away from him.

Her eyes fell to someone who was offering tea, and she couldn't stop herself. Moving slowly through the people, she pauses before the others "Hello, could I join you all in a cup of tea?" she offer a smile to each of them before she waits for the okay to join them. She was a guest, and didn't want to overstep her place even if she was welcomed.

"Ah, many thanks, sir...Sheridan, yes?" She smiled, handing the man a cup of ginseng. "I'll show these to the King and my fellow Tortoise, and we shall discuss where and how to make use of these. Your devotion is vastly appreciated." She unfurled one of the blueprints and gave it a good look, smiling appreciatively.

"These are quite good, master Sheridan."

Music was playing out of nowhere. A fanfare, trumpets, blasts of noise that seemed inappropriate and surreal at the same time.

And then silence. And then the scene around them shifted, darker still, until everything was stained a deep void of nothing. There was no them, they had no body, all they had was one thing calling to them. The Voice.

((OOC: Click on the image to view the cutscene! This is a NEW cutscene, the image just looks the same from the first page.))

"I am the Voice." The tone was both musical and clear at the same time, an interval that could not be reached through normal sound. It resonated in every core of their Miasma, and reminded them of their existence simply with its presence alone. Yes, they existed because of The Voice, the one who called them to fight in this world and promised everything.

"You have been chosen, Kings and Warriors." Images began flashing in their minds, too quick for them to truly comprehend. "This is my gift to you, and in return I demand Miasma." And then a glimpse of something else, something almost all kingdoms recognized. The Silver Kingdom, collapsed, in ruin, the tower crumbling, thick silver miasma curling from the base. The Kingdom had truly fallen. "To the north the fallen Tower of Silver, those few survivors who remain will fight for Kings or find themselves with the same fate." The Voice remained blank, apathetic as the image shifted to a thicker, lush setting. "To the center, the Great King's labyrinth. Miasma flowers, the King's prized possessions, lie in the center, cursed with a price."

Lastly, the image shifted to a war-ravaged area, familiar to almost all. The contamination zone. "To the East the desolate lands, corrupted by tainted Miasma, the earth itself treacherous."

With a poignant pause, everything shifted back to colourless still. Music again, odd, raucous, mocking. "The Voice calls forth the warriors, all for the glory of the true king. The Kingdom with the lowest price in Miasma will be the next to fall."

And even in the most abysmal setting, everything almost sighed in a burst of light. No, not light, existence, of their own Miasma. The Voice communicating directly to them, both chastising and commanding, encouraging and tantalizing demanded everything including who they were themselves. It was terrifying and it was absolute. Its message was entirely simple and complete. Several would turn to their King now, and their was no doubt the words in their eyes, in their expressions, in everything. They were scared, they were uncertain, and for some, they were ready. Warriors, Kings, measly peasants and shadows. It was the King's turn to decide who would fight in their Kingdom's glory.

OOC

THE KING'S GLORY:

gaia_crown [ CUTSCENE PART 2:] To view the new cutscene, please click this link, if you haven't viewed it already (see above image). The introduction image is the same, but keep on clicking it to view the whole cutscene for THIS CURRENT EVENT.

gaia_crown [ THE KING'S CHOICE:] Now, as citizens and warriors prepare themselves, Queens and Pawns and Wild Cards, the King must come to a choice. Where will they place their pieces? As the King decides, his voice carries the final authority. They are ready to fight. They have no choice but to fight.

OOC: - When a King QUOTES you, and directs your player to a location, you are now moving to that { EVENT } marked thread. You can only try in an { EVENT } thread until you pretty much die/ your HP goes to 0. When you escape or finish successfully, please mark all gained Miasma Points HERE for your team.
- If you DIE in an event, you will LOSE ALL MIASMA POINTS GAINED. They cannot be transferred to another player.
- These events DO have difficulty levels. If you feel like you cannot handle a high difficulty level event, make sure you contact your King, either through pms, AIM, or the OOC thread. Quote the King player if using the OOC thread. The King will try their BEST to accommodate, but please do not expect them to 100% assign you to everything you want. If they assign you to a more challenging thread, consider it a compliment that they trust your skills!
- It is up to the King HOW they want to split their players. Each player in a Kingdom can only participate in one event pass or fail. They cannot return to an event pass or fail. Think CAREFULLY which ones you want to bring your characters to!
- To recap: respond rp-wise to the Voice as you wish. Ultimately however, you cannot move until your King wishes for so. You can ICly express where you want to go or wait for your King's decision. You can OOCly also talk it amongst each other. Once your King is ready, they will post their choices as to where each player will go. That is when you will move to your event threads, to try and get as many MIASMA POINTS as possible.
- At the end of OOC 48 hours from THIS POST ALL EVENT THREADS WILL CLOSE, complete or incomplete. I will then tally the Miasma Point thread. The Kingdom with the lowest Miasma points. WILL FALL and all its subjects fall to ruin.
Once again, for the King and all the players, the options are:

gaia_crown [ The Silver Kingdom Remains ] Location: here.
- Difficulty level: HARD.
- Setting: A long series of twisting tunnels lie in wait in a climb to reach the top. For those who do reach the top, a puzzle awaits them, with a prize, a secret from the late Silver King that might uncover the reason as to why they died so suddenly, perhaps even about the Voice themselves....

gaia_crown [ The Old King's Labyrinth ] Location: here.
- Difficulty level: NORMAL.
- Setting: The old King's labyrinth lie home to Miasma flowers, considered blessed flowers by many. They are cursed by nature, but if one goes through the trials and succeeds in purifying them, the rewards are greater than the endurance itself.

gaia_crown [ The Valley of the Blighted Heart] Location: here.
- Difficulty level: EASY.
- Setting: The corrupted valley lie home to all sorts of terrible creatures, it is rumoured that this is where they send those to die. All take a terrible risk in entering the area, much less surviving it...

Sheridan nodded appreciatively.

"I would have preferred to never have a need of these, however fortunate it may be to have them now."

The plans were well drawn and highly detailed, his own personal designs. An architect by trade, Sheridan had designed and created many of the buildings in the kingdom. These particular plans he had created in his spare time, fearing one day they may be needed, how he wished now that he had been wrong.
