Rin heard him out quietly while taking her chocolate back. Peeling open the wrapper distractedly before looking back at him curiously, "Snow sounds really nice." Then taking a bite of chocolate with a decadent hum of approval.
"I know you like hot flavoured candies now... but how do you feel about sour or even salty?"

Finishing his meal, he took out the Red Hots and felt miserable that such a small thing actually excited him. When had he been reduced to feeling like throwing a parade over a box of Theater candy? Still, he opened the box and popped a few of the cinnamon candies in his mouth.
"Snow is nice. White and pure, quiet and cold, going on for miles." Just the woods, thick with snow on pine trees, with the occasional thump as clumps fell down to the ground as branches shook from the weight.
As for food, he shrugged. "They're okay. I'll eat em. I do like chips, I just prefer something with heat...a kick to it. Why?"

"I just wondered. I've honestly never met someone who didn't like sweet treats before," she offered a subtle smirk before taking another bite of her chocolate. Savoring it before continuing, "I still can't believe how many peppers you ate."

"I don't hate hate sweet things. I can have a very small amount, but after that I just...am done. I don't want any more. Even a normal candy bar seems too much to me. I can take a bite, but then I just don't want it. It worked great when Halloween came and went as a kid. I could give my chocolate away for things no one else wanted." He would accumulate Big Red, fireballs, Redhots, and a mass of other cinnamon treats in large amounts for something as little as a few miniature Snickers. His brother and sister all had a system worked out, and they would trade their candies for what they wanted among each other.
"I like hot foods. I liked being dared as a kid to try hot peppers. It was like a competition to see who wouldn't wind up crying or going after a cup of milk or a roll." He shrugged as he smiled. "It's fun." He liked competing and winning something that didn't require lifting weights or physical violence yet still could give you impressive masculinity points. It was great.

"I'd challenge you to a pepper eating contest, but I'm not naive enough to believe I'd stand a chance," She winked in his direction. "Oh. By the way. Did you know they also make chocolate with like... actual chili pepper in it? Supposedly it's pretty damn good but I'm not brave enough to try that. Think you can try it whenever there is eventually leave and let me know if you like it?"

Mevlin smiled. "Deal. If I find it, I'll try it out. If it doesn't make me gag, I'll bring some back." He had to wonder how it would taste or if the chocolate would just get in the way. He was curious.
He paused before looking at the water and then at her. "How have you been getting along? Has Sasha driven you up the wall yet?"

"Nah... she's been nice and a great host. I'm hoping to move back to my room soon so I'm not such a bother. I get the feeling she wants to like..," Rin gestured vaguely with her hands. "Like uh... get to know her new boyfriend better and I may just be in the way."

Melvin considered who would want to dip into that pool of crazy, but couldn't decide between everyone else who was crazy or everyone not being crazy enough. "New boyfriend? Who would that be?" He wasn't prone to gossip or even caring about relationships, but as always, he was curious.

"Liked?" She now had his full attention. "You mean you wanted to hook up with her?" Liked? What were they in - preschool? With the stacks of porn he saw in Rin's bag when she left the Infirmary, he hadn't expected her to act so modest. It was almost disappointing.

"You've known Sasha for a while, right? Why didn't you just ask her out? Is she clearly not into that?" He had to wonder considering Sasha was the one that had brought a bag full of porn to her when she was recovering.

"She was always with someone. When I met her Jerry was pursuing her already. Then they broke up and immediately it was this fellow. I expressed an... interest some time ago. Like. Right after she started officially dating Jerry. But she has not expressed one back. If she is into tits; it is certainly not my tits that catch her fancy," Rin sounded somewhat frustrated and annoyed in her tone. Sasha was still an interest, but a confusing one these days. She wasn't sure what to think anymore about anything.

This was a nice little tidbit of information, and like everything else, he kept that in mind. For now, Rin was uncomfortable and he really didn't want to be patting anyone's shoulder over a crush they had.
Taking another sip of water, he was confused at exactly what Rin was asking him. "Modesty levels in regards to what?"
