(WTF dice, seriously. Using a smaller die, this rabbit deserves some chances here, yes? )
Frustrated as he lost the grip a second time, he only managed to catch it's ears, but they were ripped from his mouth. Barking in annoyance, he raced after the creature, drooling as blood trickled from his maw.

Teh Roarie Coal felt the teeth. He knew there would be a scar, there was no way around it. But he could avoid being dog food. Even through the pain, he dug his feet in. He had to get away. (Once more, just once more ;-; )

The ear nicks smarted, he wasn't going to deny that. But he was still alive. By some mercy that he was unaware of. Maybe he could still get away, maybe. He was terrified, tired, angry and downright sick of running. One more stroke of luck. He'd gladly share this tale if the gods above or whatever being the twisted fate would let him live. He was too terrified to remember any sort of name of anything at the moment. Least of all a god.

(Three ties people, I'm letting this buck live. >| He might not ever get to runner after this, but better alive...)
Snarling in rage, he overtook the buck, sinking his teeth into the rabbit's back. Before he could shake his head to snap the spine though, he felt a resistance around his neck. Choking against it, he strained and had to cough...
Dropping the rabbit.
Confused, the dog tried lunging again, but the buck was too far out of reach. His chain had been caught by the farm equipment he'd run by, and was holding fast this time.
Howling and digging his paws into the ground, he kept trying to reach the bleeding buck, but was having no success.
--------------
Charcoal will live, but with massive, massive damage x.x;;;
Remind me and I'll edit it later. Both he and Feverfew I think.
He won't be able to finish the race, but he WILL SURVIVE

Bleary and through massive amounts of pain Coal thanked everything in his being for being alive as he slunk to the nearest place to hide. He could only hope someone saw him and would come to help him before he bled to death. It hurt, everywhere, but he was becoming numb to it. Dimly he curled up and then everything went black.

Teh Roarie Bleary and through massive amounts of pain Coal thanked everything in his being for being alive as he slunk to the nearest place to hide. He could only hope someone saw him and would come to help him before he bled to death. It hurt, everywhere, but he was becoming numb to it. Dimly he curled up and then everything went black. A dog! She could hear the barking from here. It was loose from the sounds of it, and her heart thrummed quickly in her chest. Then there was the yipe as it's chain choked it and the owsla cocked her head curiously.
There had only been two that hadn't reported back, one for sure never would. The dog though, that was confusing. Would it still be barking if it caught a rabbit? Oh Frith, she hoped she wasn't about to make a grave mistake.
Gathering up the others and moving them further away from the farm, she had them lie low and wait for her to return.
Unless they heard the dog, or anything for that matter.
Returning to the farm as true night settled in, Althea crouched low and kept her distance from the fence. The smell of rabbit was everywhere, and while that was normally comforting right now she was sure an elil would find it a welcome invitation.
By the time she found the scent of blood she was already pushing tharn, imagining every bent grass and soft breeze was death itself coming for her. The trail was growing old and hard to follow, but whomever had made it hadn't cared much for stealth at that point. Following the crushed grass as much as the blood, Althea came upon the mauled buck.
"Oh Frith, Charcoal?"
She wasn't sure if the buck was alive, much less able to respond. Nosing him gently, she listened for his heartbeat, starting to work on cleaning his wounds. ----------------- Roarie, What happens to him now is up to you. If you'd rather he pass on, he still can if you prefer. If you'd like to get him back to the warren, Althea can help him along. And if you want to rp it out, let me know heart
