She blinked slowly. "You misunderstand.." She looked to her nails, then back to the pond. "I'll tell it to you straight. I originally only went out with you so that you became blind to whatever bad thing i did. And the fact that i slept well whenever i was with you." She kept a serious face. "For example-" She started. "- I was the one who broke Hikari's jaw, that time. I did it purposefully. Knowing everything about the damage caused and the effects." She paused again. "You already knew that i placed the bomb, so that was a misgiven." Her eyes flickered. "However. Since you've been gone, i've allowed Asher to make a deal with the man. Despite her restrictions from the other demons. I've also cut myself off from the Yokai monarchy, and become the hand to the queen Shiro. In the promise that i may help her get back at Yuji for killing her brother." She took a long pause. "As a result of this. I'm moving into her castle." She looked back to him. "You're not coming with me, either." She scratched the back of her neck. "Sooner or later, Shiro's going to declare war against the Yokai family. And i'll be standing with her. We'll be enemies. You and I." She winced a little. "You said you left so that you could become strong enough to be with me. Well. Now you'll be strong enough to go against me, too."

*Shorstraw shied and hugged his knees. "So now all along you betrayed me, hikari and you familiy. That sucks. We all cared for you. Fine then, go. But youwont see me agian. Not even as a enemy. If i'm not here for you, then i'm not here at all. Yuji's on his last life. The others are all just ahning in there. The countrys falling, poor dontes bound to be killed, and more or less... Eve will be your only one standing up against you. And she has been more stressed then ever." He cloesed his eyes, "if it's true then goodbye." He couldn't say anymore without thinking more on it. It could have been another test, but even if so that was the facts. He would dissaper, yuji would die, eve would be the only one to stand and she would die alone. Things were diffretn then before the yokai wasn't about power anymore, it wasn't about who had what. He wondered however, would she accept that? Would she walk away and leave it as it will become?

Kiera frowned. "You know. I didn't want to believe it, but it's true. You're so quick to dismiss me. Like i'd have never been part of you life, ever. Just like that day two years ago. You're so ready to let me go." She had the look of disgust. "And then you'd think that i'd actually be so stupid as to do all that s**t. I pity your narrow mind. You never knew me." She threw her arms out at her sides. "Maybe i should leave, then. To think that you'd have such distrust me me. I wish that i'd done all those things, just to spite you." She shook her head. "I should've seen that from the beginning. I was right. You never loved me." She took a couple of steps back, and the usual heat was firing off her like an oven.

*He smerked, "who said i wasn't test your for once..." suddenly the shorstraw faded and the real one walked out from behind a tree and leaned on it with his arms crossed. "Your too quick to test me. You think i wouldn't fallow you anyways after what we promesed eachother just earlyer this morning. I could feel that wasn't accorate. ALthough i did fear for a long time that you might do such a thing ever since that time you burnt that town down becuse there were people there that cared for you. Two years later and your still on fire the moment you think you have your answer." He chukkled, "duh. I promesed this time i mean it." He looked away, "though back then i would have fallen for it."

Kiera's face dulled again. "That doesn't change the matter at hand." She looked away, then turned. "That doesn't change anything. Just because you got more cocky doesn't mean it changes anything!" She was almost shouting. Her trust issues were coming a lot into play here, and he didn't play the right card for it. "I should kill you. I should. You're my weakness." Her eyes glittered. "I wouldn't do all those pointless things just to space you from me. I'd get to the heart of the problem. I'd just kill you. Like i did with Cyril, and Amnesia. And all that village. I'll test you all i like. It doesn't increase or decrease your mortality rate. Answers are all i ever have, Shortstraw. It's the questions i want." The heat died down a little, although her skin was still scalding hot.

*He nodded and stood strigth looking to her, "then you would have done it already. I don't fear it anymore. Not becuse of what i found out i am, but becuse its all about you. Heres my question to you, what if you were someone else weakness. Does that make them weak. Does that make me, yuji, hikari, everyone that cares about you weak? The answer is easly known. Weakness is just life, it's how things work." He stepped forword but tripped and fell over, 'Damn it is was tring to play this cool!' He shied and quickly got back up brushing himself off. 'smooth move, you dodge the first and fall on you face good one shorstraw.' He thought. Then he smiled again, "your my reasion to live. Whats yours? Is it me, or is it to distroy all weakness.. you wanted questions..."

Kiera turned round and slapped him across the cheek. Hard. A double whammy because her hand was also scorching hot. "Being pedantic doesn't get you anywhere either, you a**." She frowned further, although her eyes flickered from side to side. "You should fear it. Just because i haven't done it yet doesn't mean that i won't. Cyril and Amnesia thought the same as you, once upon a time. And now they're just charred ashes becoming more of the dirt." She looked away stubbornly. "It only makes them weak if they consider the people to be liabilities to any opponents. Being alone makes things easy. Simple. You don't have to look after any one but yourself." Her eyelids were heavy. "I tried to be different. But nothing changed."

*He held his cheek but kept the same vioce and expression as he moved his hand back to his side, "Becuse even though you let loose alittle, you still wont let things change. For example say you let loose alittle and decide to get yuji somthing for a gift, but you don't let him have it. That is what your like somtimes, even if you don't mean too. i think it's a girl thing. I know some one just like that." He laughed then got beck serious, "You try too hard. Sure alittle bit to look a certain way is okay, but if you think alone is better, then why ever try in the first place." He shrugged, meanwhile inside his head he was really feeling the hurt of his burning cheek. More or less this wasn't about things as he first thought. This was a argument... the first they had.*

Kiera sat down, and tucked her knees to her chest. "I tried for you, Shortstraw. I knew you wanted me to be like how i was when i was around Cyril and the others. But when i was back at the castle i'd be someone completely different. I tried to break down that barrier a little. For you." She looked to the pond, stubbornly. "But now i see that was a waste of my time. Nothing seems to change no matter who i tried to be. I even let Yuji in.. for a fraction of a second. Trust just leads to disappointment. It's the same as caring." Her breathing slowed, and she finally became a manageable temperature. "It was easier when i was younger. When i just watched things happen."

*Shortstraw stepped up. "I can tell your trying keria. I never said you havn't, before i left you were doing good. I mean... the people in town started to like you, eve wanted to include you with her duty, yuji is still trying to make up for not being there before... dontie is innicent, Hikari tought you how to cook pancakes and there really good... thing are going to be slow..." he stepped closer to her... "are you going to slap me again or can i finally hug you?" He chukkled.

Kiera glanced to him, then back to the pond. "I won't slap you unless you deserve it. You deserved it that time." She turned and got on her knees in a quick move, and pulled him down to hug him tight. "I couldn't do anything else without you there anyway these past two years. My whole reason for trying in the first place is you."

*He smiled and hugged her back* "Well i have to say that makes me feel really needed keria, your my reasion for liveing too. Although i did expect to find some big change when i got back... at some point you gotta make a move..." He laughed at the joke, "i'm kidding. I'm not going to go away. If i even need to go anywhere i'll take you with me. And visa versa. We are like a mini familiy inside your familiy. Even though that sounds really corny... you and I more or less really make eachother... happier and more livelike." He smiled and nuzzled her, "and your all warm again!"

She was latched onto him. "Yeah. I more or less went cold soon after you left. And now that you're back, i guess i'm warm again." She buried herself in him. "It was weird being cold. I don't know how you guys do it. Although being warm does get boring after a while." Kiera shut her eyes and smiled. "Lets just not leave each other then. 'Kay?"

*He smerked, "Duh i been saying that all along Keria. What part of i love you don't you get." He laughed and looked up to her, "your still really tall though... i was hoping i might actully get alittle taller in the time, but nope... you grew twice as big then i expected..." he then thought about what he said and blushed. The twice as big could be taken wrong... and in many diffrent ways. He hoped she wouldn't question that... it would defently be inconveiont.*

Kiera chuckled a little. "Eh. You'll get to it eventually. Girls grow taller faster than boys do anyway. But when you grow, i bet you'll be the same height as me, if not taller." She shrugged. "Height doesn't matter." Although she noticed that he was blushing, and saw a moment of weakness. "Oh? What is it about me exactly that's got twice as big, Shortstraw?" She grinned.
