Israfel didn't look very concerned with the fact they got it wrong, more or less, he just looked curious. "Ponies are very weird." He said to no one in particular. "At least the old ponies are. I think the teams will get mini ponies. That seems to be what its about right." far off the mark he looked at Lucien. "I owe you clouds now."

Well, that was very unlike Hel. VERY unlike Hel. Hm. Eh, maybe the reaper had finally been knocked down a few pegs.
Oh, and they were about to announce the results! Riyo's ears perked with anticipation, her eyes fluttering as she watched the names go up on the board. Surely they were one of them. Surely!
...
They... Didn't get it?
How did they not get it?!
Riyo pulled out the pad she'd used to scribble out what she thought was the answer, following her deductions madly, the feline realized her miscalculation. The fur bristling out was a clear indication of it. Meekly, she peeked out over the notepad at her teammates, ears drooping in disappointment. She was, to say the least, a little embarrassed. "... Ah. Well... I guess I'll have to try harder next time." C-confident! Gotta stay confident eventhoughyoutookahugeblowtotheego. S'okay. Maybe. Possibly.
... She needed a drink.
With all this, she had yet to notice Titus commence starting drama with the rest of the team.

Xiu had managed to catch a glimpse of the sheet with the winning teams before Arel snatched it back up, and she noted that their team name wasn't printed on the list. While it was a little disappointing, it was certainly not something to get entirely discouraged over. Turning to look at Riyo, she gave the bakeneko an encouraging smile. "No problem, no problem! Maybe next time!" They would just have to do their best with the actual event tomorrow!
The bright smile did not remain on her face for long. As she turned to look at look at the others, her optimistic expression dropped altogether, replaced by a concerned frown. Mot had looked upset, but before she could comment, e had already left. And Hel..."Hel...?" Why was the valkyrie looking so gloomy, she wondered? Had something happened? Unless she was just imagining the dark cloud that hung over her friend's head.
But no, it seemed that the others had noticed as well. Including Titus. Xiu couldn't help but scowl slightly at the nightmare demon, but she said nothing for now.

Rudolph? That didn't even made any sen-...maybe it was the horns? Now why did that nickname sound familiar? Titus puzzled over it for only a few short seconds before he deemed it not important and shrugged it off.
"A little dark and gloomy. Just the way I like it," Titus winked. His eyes followed the cowboy as he took his leave as silently as he came in. The demon didn't know what to make of this other reaper yet other than he didn't like him. He was a reaper after all. "You and stick figure have a fight?"

Lucien was an optimist on his lowest level so the fact they hadn't won really hadn't phased him at all. Instead, he seemed excited. Not only was he excited about the fact he now had won his bet and would be getting a cute bunny shaped cloud, but tomorrow was the start of their adventures together. He'd make some friends and they'd do better. He'd go back to his room and he'd make all the preparations he could... he'd... he'd think! Really hard! He wouldn't just flop over on a cloud and laze about thinking about philosophy but he'd think about the trials ahead and how he could be a better team member.
"I look forward to the bunny cloud," he smiled to Israfel before turning his attention back to his team members. "We didn't win today so that means there's nothing but something better in store for us tomorrow." If they lost again, then it wouldn't be any worse but a win would be that much better.

Whisper looked quite disheartened as the results were announced. Her team had worked so hard, and yet it just didn't cut it. How terrible they must feel? She would have to be strong for them, and cheer them up. This was her resolve, and she would not let it falter. Wisp had to be a good leader no matter what.

Hel, surprisingly, reached out to pat Riyo’s shoulder for a moment before pulling away. It was fine. Hel didn’t really care. She was almost like honey badger about this little preliminary trial.
“Hmm?” The ghoul turned her head in Xiu’s direction, catching sight of Mot leaving after the winners were announced.
…
Well then.
Hel snapped her head away from the cowboil’s retreating form, ignoring the sinking feeling in her chest…until Titus prodded, and potentially stumbled onto something that resembled a nerve. His tease and wink were thoroughly ignored, and at his question, it did garner a slight brow quirk. “It is none of your business.” Hel replied flatly.

She'd been so sure, but she'd gotten it wrong. Siddie twisted the ruffled edge of her skirt between her fingers and looked at her toes. "I'm so sorry," she said in a very small voice.

Bul looked to his bag of red fish and sighed. Hey at least they would make a tasty snack! He did make a mental note to go home and rip the keys out of his keyboard one by one. Curse that stupid glitch ghoul. CURSE HER.

Looking at Xiu's reassuring smile lifted the feline's spirits slightly, but it was enforced when Hel gave her a pat on the back. "Thanks." Obviously Riyo wasn't a mushy gushy person, or else she might've initiated some lame-a** group hug, but it had at least heightened her spirits a little. Yes, the whole 'confidence' thing was working!
The ghoul's attention was finally turned to the rest of her team. Mot was gone, Hel was upset, and Titus was, as usual, making things worse.
Catching some snippets of conversation from the nightmare demon, the feline finally put two and two together. Were Hel and Mot... Separating?
Whelp, that was the way the cookie crumbled. Riyo had never known a relationship to last, considering her own parents hated each other (from what she knew). And because of how nasty her parents divorce was, she figured Mot was probably to blame. Sleeping around on Hel, being lazy and good for nothing as men usually were.
... Well no, probably not. Mot really wasn't anything like that, was he? Her mother hadn't been right about everything, after all.
... At least she hoped her mother wasn't right about everything. Leaning in towards Xiu, Riyo folded her arms and muttered, "Should we do something?" Hell, the ghoul didn't know. She usually let people settle s**t on their own. But she was LEADER now. that meant something, rite?

Rain made her way over to Whisper and quietly studied her team leader's tail, as if hoping some insect might pop out of it and into her mouth. Bugs were a tasty treat, especially when she was worried about something, and right now, she was worried that she hadn't done enough to help her team. Of course, the only thing that really mattered to her was that they had given it their all, and it looked like most of the other groups had a difficult time with the challenge as well. Still, they had managed to figure out some kind of answer, even if it was the wrong one! That showed promise right? Or at least initiative? Perhaps all they needed was a little more ghoul power!

Wait what? Mai was certain she'd seen her team's name on that piece of paper. So they'd been right? Oh jacking fantastic! Aurian's squeals of happiness followed on the heels of their discovery and the two ghouls shared a moment of celebratory embracing. After they released each other, she turned and gave Vaith a quick smooch on the opposite cheek that Aurian had kissed.
Mai was quietly, but immensely, proud of herself and her team.
"Good job everyone," she said smiling warmly at the others. "Let's keep up the good work, hm?"

Amarus laughed, startled, when Muka grabbed hold of all their teammates. She had only just met a few of them, but... wow, they had succeeded? Looks like she had picked the right team, especially given she was awful with puzzles and learning in general-- Hopefully they would later be given an opportunity to slaughter something, as that was what she really enjoyed. Well, that and running rather quickly, or napping in inconvenient places.
They could do this. Right? Of course they could! They were Team Splash Attack, after all.

Willow grinned when she caught a glance at who the winners were. At least, until Muka grabbed the whole team in a hug. Her tail fluffed out and she gave a small hiss. "Mukaaa dont' do that." She sighed when she finally was freed and started straightening out her fur.
"At the very least warn me before doing that. I don't like large crowds to start with." He nose wrinkled as she sighed and shrugged softly. "Anyways. We should probably start getting ready for whatever the trials hold."
