Jordan crossed his arms over his chest and waited for Rep's response, staring at the man with an expression that said clearly not impressed with you.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 23, 2012 8:02 pm

Rep paused mid step as his path was blocked by Aria, eyeing her with his usual sort of smug half lidded defiance. It took all of his self control not to laugh at the to him, absurdity of calling a woman Sir. It was just bizzare to him and like something from some kind of dominatrix fantasy. He WANTED to tell her that he thought it was stupid, wanted to go on a complete and utter rant about how funny he found it a woman wanted to play at being a man.

But he could feel Jordan's glare on the back of his head.

"Sir yes sir." he stated to Aria.

Tracey was reminded this was a lost battle, not a lost WAR.

Jordan nodded, flicking a sympathetic glance in Aria's direction. Sorry, ma'am, I'm trying. "Let's go," he said to Rep and Rin, and tugged his scarf up around his face as he headed out the largest hole in the wall.

The wind hit him like a wave, shoving forcefully at his whole body; he braced himself and leaned into it, suddenly grateful he'd thought to get a pair of goggles to keep his eyes clear. The snow was packed hard by the constant howl of wind, but he stepped carefully anyway. It wouldn't do to fall into a hidden drift and have to spend time extracting himself. He summoned Ferros; as well as being immediately there if anything hostile appeared, the weapon would help protect him from the cold.

It's cold, jackdammit, Ferros complained.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. He waited for Rep and Rin to join him before choosing a direction, and pointed out the path he intended to take to the two newbie trainees. It was going to be hard to hear in this wind, but this job shouldn't require too much talking, at least. He started off on a path that would take them in a wide loop around the building.

"Smart answer," Aria told him, stepping out of his way. She inclined her head in a nod towards Jordan, pleased that the Sun squad leader took the initiative to escort the trainees around the perimeter. It was too much to hope that one of the trainees would have gotten lost, but alas; she couldn't have everything.

Aria ignored her weapon's snicker, a smirk flickering across her face at her weapon's suggestion before dismissing it. Not here, not now. Perhaps another time, she promised, turning her attention towards the group.

She caught Candace looking at her. Aria gave her a nod of encouragement and approval, her gaze flickering and lingering on the pile of furniture blocking the door to the outpost's bedrooms. A hint? Perhaps.

The doctor gave the Aria a wistful little smile, "She was a vicious little b***h at heart, so it was difficult to tell the difference at first." Sipping his chocolate he continued, "I'm just here to observe, really." He watched the conflict with the sun division's loud redhead impassively, but Candace merited another smile as he raised his mug to her. "I have to commend your choice of Mist team leaders. Candace is so very capable, and Cassandra has proven to have a great deal of..." his smile widened, "...stamina."

The man sighed a bit, "But I hear you've assigned Mister Bates to assist Life." He tsked a bit at this, "And here I thought if anyone would give that poor lad a nice place to really belong, it would be you."

Rin was a little startled by how ludicrous the situation seemed. First, she didn't think it was that bad. Just Rep being Rep. You ignored it and the baby didn't get his binky. But... they wanted to be called sir? And demanded it with such.. gusto...?

Great, now she's going to have to listen to him going on and on about how butch the woman is once they're out of earshot. Rin rolled her eyes exasperatedly. Dealing with Rep is going to be so much worse now.

Oh? They're going now. Great. Less trouble out there.

She summoned Byr to her hands without a word, as Aria had instructed them to do earlier and followed Jordan out into the crippling weather.

Oh damn was that cold. Even with goggles on she squinted at chill that still found its way. Exposed areas of her skin immediately fell numb to the air. Still.. she trudged on, following the mans directions. Even though she wanted so bad to shout over wind she was certain doing so would freeze her mouth open. So much then for ever talking again.

"I feel like we should still accompany another group while we can. If there is something still in the building, it could possibly be after something that might be unearthed in the other division's work." Cass replied, not completely convinced they should go off on their own yet.

"It would be unfortunate for Life to lose information that could be used because they got attacked and didn't have someone that could defend them, but also pick up information from the area, and likewise for Gale's squad...though Gale has two of our lambs helping him and Madison out, so that might not be as big of a problem."

Cass seemed to realize that there was also a Mist helping (hi Before) Life out as well, so....

"Never mind, I think I see where your logic came in. Making some small rounds between the other groups will be our safest option and we can aid if they need us while we keep our eyes peeled and do our thing."

Still, she looked to H when she heard her name mentioned, then to Aria in time to see that glance towards the blockade towards the rooms, before looking to Candace to see if she'd gotten it too.

Molly smiled at Feng (also dubbed Late Guy in her head) and Mercedes, looking rather surprised yet intrigued as she summoned her weapon…er…weapons? Wow, that was really neat! “That seemed pretty quick to me!” She commented, impressed. Though there wasn’t a lot of time to admire, and soon she followed her leads out to head out for their mission.

She was a mixture of anxiety and excitement, and one portal ride later, the young woman’s stomach couldn’t help but sink as she took in the base’s condition. Oh dear. Not to mention it was terribly hot…She unbuttoned her jacket and loosened her scarf, listening intently to Aria’s instructions, and then to her Mist Leads as well. Okay so…assist any division who needs it…but until then, they needed to survey! Alright, Molly could do this…this was just like the mission to Alaska, right? She needed to find clues to help her find others. Her attention was torn between Cass and Candace, and she looked at Candace, waiting for direction, only to find her looking towards Aria…who was glancing at the bedrooms? Honestly, Molly liked the idea of them exploring as well…

Um…” Molly timidly raised a hand, trying to get Candace’s attention. “If I may, Miss Candace…I would like to go check the bed rooms and bathrooms…and see…if we can find anyone…”

Rep gave Aria a look of contempt as she let him pass, fighting his instinct to flip the bird as her attention went elsewhere. It was a tough battle of self control but he won mainly because with gloves on it'd probably be a pain in the arse to do anyway. So he slunk off, following Jordan through the hole in the wall.

He'd expected it to be cold, but perhaps not as ******** brass monkeys as it actually was, burying his chin into his scarf as he hauled up his large furry hood and tied it tight, following Jordan as closely as his sense of manly no homo distance permitted, treading in the other man's footsteps, which he'd heard on some discovery channel show wolves did to make walking easier in the snow. He was a wolf in his own mind anyway.

He too walked in silence for a bit like Rin, reeling from the cold as his body adjusted, but still, there was that part of him that the wind really couldn't drown out, that ball of red hot /fury/. Who the ******** did that Aria woman think she /was/. Talking to him like that, really. Women here had all the ******** wrong ideas.

"Sirrr." he snarled almost to himself, fighting the urge to summon Tracey for no reason at all, and battling the snow with his anger, taking it out with his angry trudging.

"Of course she was, she was a werewolf was she not?" Aria shrugged towards Dr. H, dismissal. "And while I appreciate the compliment, it was they themselves who sorted themselves out. As you currently have only one intermediate trainee, Before was the only one with sufficient experience to provide assistance. I would not dream of requesting Clarice's time away from you."

She made a brief pause, adding innocently, "In fact, doctor, I feel as though I must thank you for thinking of him when assigning additional trainees to the Mist division. I feel that the additional trainees will make Before feel more... comfortable with his new division."

The instant that Sasha came into the room the scarf was one-handedly unwound from her neck and the top buttons of her jacket were awkwardly undone. Thankfully her boots were going to be tolerable, and she was wearing a dress with thick leggings. With a puff of a sigh, Sasha was briefly thankful that she'd already braided her hair.

<Is it time to sink my claws into the monsters yet, my dove?>

No, Nona. Not yet.. I don't even know what we're looking for.

<The woman spoke of valuable things. Or survivors, hmm?>

I'm not sure what might be considered valuable.

<Start with the survivors, then, my sweet. Behind the furniture piled up there. Perhaps the big beautiful man could be of service?> Nona's voice was a gentle coo.

Nona.

With a delicate grunt and purpose in her movements, Sasha moved towards the furniture that was barricading the door which led to the bedrooms and restrooms, where she promptly did her best to move the smaller pieces aside.

The Life Leader gave a mournful little sigh, "Yes, well, perhaps he and Robert together can make a fully three-quarters of a competent Life intermediate." He took another sip of hot chocolate, "Clarice offered to come, you know. She still looks up to you as some sort of," a soft, derisive laugh, "heroic figure."

The smile widened to an almost boyish degree, "Oh, the new trainees? So glad you appreciate the addition of some more ahhh...variety, in the Mist base."

Candace watched quietly as Aria showed Rep who the ******** boss was, grinning with pride as he actually obeyed her order. Good idea, boy. Good idea. She chuckled under her breath as she removed her vest and turned her back to the group, muttering a quiet request for Cass' help covering her before she stripped off the thick sweater she'd been wearing underneath the vest, putting it down for the moment while she replaced the vest and zipped it up with a sigh of relief. Much better! She wasn't melting anymore! The sweater and winter coat were folded up and stuffed into her bag, shifting its contents to get them underneath everything else as much as she could. "Yeah, we'll keep an ear out and check on the other divisions, but we should let them do their thing for now. They're perfectly capable on their own," Most of them, anyway. "so we'll just provide support as needed." As per their orders, really.

At Molly's interjection Candace smiled, chuckling at the way she raised a hand like a shy student in class. How adorable! "I was just thinking that myself. It's blocked for a reason, we should find out why." The stains here were obviously blood. It looked so painfully similar to the state she had found the Mist lounge in the day she was temporarily demoted.

She also spotted the way Aria gestured toward the room for her. Oh, good! She was glad her leader approved of her plan. It meant she was on the right track! She was putting her coat back on when H raised his mug to her and complimented her and Cass. The young woman cleared her throat, ignoring the way her heart raced and her cheeks flushed hotly. "I actually asked Before himself if he wanted to help Life, he would have been given the option to be my other assistant had he declined, doctor." Given the last time Candace and Before had been together in H's presence he would understand what a leap of improvement that was, right?

"Let's go check out the rooms, then." Candace told Cass, Molly, Feng and Mercedes before leading them through the wrecked room to the barricade where the delicate little flower from Life's division was already picking at the pieces. She grinned and leaned in over Sasha's shoulder, whispering quietly in her ear. "Need some help, rose bud?" Candace asked playfully before stepping around the younger woman to shove a few more pieces of furniture away. She urged the others Mists to do the same.

Ami nodded at Marcus. She was good at following directions, or so she'd like to think. She could move furniture.

As per Marcus' instructions, she had run back to her dorm and grabbed her thickest pair of winter boots she could find. Even those weren't doing wonders here, but then, there was no way in hell she was putting bags over her feet. No. She would rather get frostbite. Uck.

Mindlessly, she grabbed a few more broken boards and started piling them near Marcus' chairs. She hoped they wouldn't be here long.

((Am trying to leave it vague 'cause I'll have school and don't want to hold anyone up- sorry! OTL))
