Z8's elbow was a solid 'no' to his question. He was dumped to one side by the knock to his helmet coupled with another body jumping on top of him to get him off. When he turned around, his back on the ground, he found A10 on top of him. He wanted to say something funny, something scathing, something absolutely horrid..

But instead.. "If you wanted me to yourself, you could have just asked." He whispered up at her quietly. A little chuckle punctuated his words, and he picked her up and put her down beside Z8 before she could retaliate physically as well.

"Fine, fine ladies. You got me on my back. What can I say? I'm glad to have you on my side. Or on top of me, in your case, kitten." He rolled away, landing squarely at A4's feet, and pushed himself up to stand. It was a good enough time to check his phone, so he pulled it out of his pants (and adjusted himself again, still way too tight on these pants, ridiculous) to check the message.

Z6 stood in awe, watching as Zeta Eight and the red, which is what forever they would be known as to him, had their little bought. He watched it, amused at the sight as one would be amused at valley girl's soccer. It was nearly painful to listen to, but maybe just what he needed to calm himself down. Of course he'd move in if there was any real danger but felt more inclined to stand back and watch as Z8 and A10 managed to put the other on his back.

That's got to hurt. He thought with a small laugh. He felt vibrating and glanced down at the phone suspiciously. "Pendants? The hell?" He said loudly. I feel like I'm reading some book about a wizard.

He watched again while the large, male Alpha team member managed to gain his ground again. "What next?" he muttered while shaking his head.

"Quite the popular chap with ladies, eh? Ho-ho!" A-4 laughed, giving A-7 a manly clap on the shoulder as he got up again. "But the lovely Miss 10 has a point, I will have to give this some serious contemplation. And strategizing. With tactics. Hmmm... this seems slightly less related to the game of BINGO than previously thought...hmmm...hrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmm..." He tapped his chin and continued, "Hummmm...not as if these things just fall from the sky, eh? Haw-haw!"

Where A12 had been during this commotion.. Well, she had been laying low. Figuratively and literally. Her cell phone rang-- a text message? One moment, her eyes was concentrated on the fight in front of her. (Personally, A12 was rooting for Zeta Eight and Alpha Ten. They were her new role models. Alpha Twelve aspired to be like them.)

The next moment, her phone flipped open to reveal the enigmatic message. Just a single necklace would guarantee survival? How .. deceiving. The fact that two tents, if not more, going for the necklace made the goal nearly impossible in itself.

As she was about to ask the person next to her, of the situation, something crashed with a deafening roar. Her hands raised to cover her ears, eyes clenched closed tightly and teeth gritted. She had bent low, head to her knees, a cloud of sand hindering any sight of the newcomer.

Until she realized.. there .. was no sound anymore? Looking up, she slowly straightened to a stand.

"I think we have c-company."

Nowhere to run. The tall shadow in the mist-- extremely tall,-- that was the only place to go. Something was taking up residence at their beach and it wasn't them.

brb heart beating too fast to reply kyaa what is this feeling

.. ok GO.

Like a kitten (yeah, okay, you can laugh now) picked up by the scruff, A10 frowned. FROWNED. Not that you could see it, but.. THE THOUGHT SHOULD COUNT ANYWAY.

Dumped somewhat unceremoniously beside Z8, she watched him pull out his phone.

"Yeah, you got the message too, huh." Turning back to A4, she beamed. Lovely sounded so much better than kitten. LOVELY KITTEN.

If the fog hadn't been so thick, you would have seen sparkles around A10. SHINY PINK SPARKLES. DESU DESU DESU SPARKLES.

"So... if they don't fall from the sky, what does?"

BEST QUESTION TO ASK, YEAH.

It seemed like someone took her seriously, at least, because something huge just dropped from the sky.

"Holy....."

And she ran. Towards it.

Zeta Six blinked and looked away from the bickering group. Something about kittens? He couldn't be sure, to him the conversation had moved from funny to the sad sort of funny like when a kid walks into a sliding glass door. He moved slightly in his stance to survey the beach. Something was off, it felt... crowded. He could barely hear the sound of the soothing crashing waves, no, there was something sinister about. He turned to some of the red team members who had begun to take notice.

It wasn't a good feeling, but he felt he couldn't ignore it either. There was nothing going on save for a few squabbles and, as amusing as they were, they didn't have the time for it. He looked back to his team members. Did they sense it? He knew he wasn't a leader of sorts, but perhaps if he pressed them and moved on they'd follow.

"Hey!" He shouted, mainly in the direction of Z8. "Don't you think we should check that out?" he pointed with a finger, his voice filled with aggravation. What if there were others there? What if they were hurt? He scanned out to the fog again. It wasn't a smart idea, but they'd have to go there eventually.

With a shrug he passed by them quickly and moved onward into the fog, into the unknown.

Zeta Eleven had been watching the sparring match with personal investment. Alpha Seven's mettle would truly be put to the test by sparring with Zeta's strongest member... which was apparently a petite woman. Oh. Hm.

While the fight certainly had his attention, the buzz of his cell phone diverted it immediately. Gloved hands unsnapped the phone from his belt and flipped it open, eyes eagerly scanning the new text message for any new information to soak in.

Pendants. Golden idols. Less than five. More numbers and another step into depravity and the deconstruction of everything that made them human. He looked over at the others, knowing the same things must be going through their heads as they looked at their own phones. How well would their truce hold in the face of this new revelation?

Kaboom?

Eleven's head snapped towards the direction of the noise. Immediately the people around him moved towards it, because he was among a group of special ******** snowflakes. Usually, you run away from explosions. He certainly was about to... before making that all too brilliant connection between his new text and the horrifying roar suddenly tearing through the air.

He sighed, cursing cognitive reasoning. He begrudgingly made his way through the mist, realizing he was just going to have to do something before all of this was over.

It seemed their doubleteam was quite effective. Surprisingly, it only took one elbow to the face and one bodyslam to take down the large Alpha male, watching him go down onto his side and pushing herself up into a sitting position, glancing over at both Alpha Seven and Ten, watching them as they 'wrestled.' For a bunch of young adults who were abandoned on an island to kill each other to survive, they were having a remarkably good time. Had she not been wearing the gas mask, there may or may not have been the hint of a smile curling the corners of her lips, although of course it would have been leaning towards not.

And then she noticed the text.

Flipping open the phone, she went completely still as she read the text, glancing back towards Alphas Ten, Seven, her attention focusing lastly on Twelve as she spoke, her hand reaching slowly out to Alpha Ten's leg, a mildly distant attempt to get her attention, getting up herself.

"Alphas... I believe one of your teammate just vanished."

"With a few exceptions, yes," Zeta Eight replied to Zeta Three as he approached, updating him as briefly as possible, "This is Alpha team. Alpha One seems to be in charge. Seven is having a few difficulties with one of the other Alpha members, but otherwise most of the others seem to be cooperating fine." Straightening visibly, she slid her mace over her shoulder and into an opening she had created in her backpack, starting to, if not relax, then certainly become less battle-inclined. It was hard to tell if Zeta Eight had any other emotions other than slight variations of 'stoic.' Still, there was an obvious sense of gratitude when the other responsible Zeta member showed up, although the subtle hints were hard to pick up on at times.

"... I see." It was a vague response that Z3 offered to Eight in exchange for information, but any sign of cooperation seemed like a positive, coming from the boy (if he was even that), and so, without another word, he seemed content to sidle off again, away from her, for more... discrete observations. He was on a quest to adsorb as much information as he could; that seemed obvious enough... but to what ends? Telling that came hard, indeed.

Regardless, for a while, that was how he occupied himself-- ... until he looked farther down the beach and instantly registered something as very, very off. Maybe it was a certain instinctual dread coiling in his gut, or maybe it was the enormous looming shadow of something inhuman, but... well, whatever it was, it definitely demanded some investigation, and thus, while far from the first to pursue it, he gave chase.

Cautious, calculating chase.

A7 clicked his phone closed and slid it back down into his pocket. He laughed raucously at A4's compliment, and shrugged. "Hey, when you've got it, you've-HOLY ******** s**t."

A7 had ducked slightly when the sound filled the air, and he straightened up to look over at the impact site. Then he looked up at the sky, waiting to see if more of whatever just fell would come down. When he looked back at the group, he caught several of the group running towards the site of the fall. His jaw dropped.

"Wait. What. WHY ARE YOU ALL RUNNING TOWARDS- Oh, ******** this." This was like a bad movie. You're supposed to learn from those - things like never trust the new guy, the red shirt always dies, and you run AWAY from explosions, not TOWARDS them. His eyes narrowed angrily when he saw kitten, of all people, running as well. It seemed he'd been determined to stick around his tent and remain one of the survivors when whatever alien life form burst out of a cocoon and ate everyone around the impact site. It was her choice that had him rolling his eyes and running after them, a string of curses whispered under his breath.

"If I get impaled by a giant tentacle monster, I'm gonna kill all of you."

A11 had been lost in her own thoughts for much of the conversation. Who was she? What was going on? Where were they? How many of them were there? Would they have to 'fight' each other? Or were there other things here with them?
It seemed like everyone else had the same questions.

Her phone buzzed when the others did. Another message? The first on had not been to pleasant or helpful, but she had hope this one would be better. It was, of course, not. Pendants? That ensure survival? She looked around at the group. Survival was something they all wanted. And with so few pendants...competition for those would be fierce. Things seemed to be gloomier and gloomier. Though the fog might have something to do with that.

"So about th-" she had just started to speak when something crashed into the beach. "What the?!" She was having trouble making out a form...was that the fog, the mask, or her brain in denial? Did she see what she thought she saw? I feel like I have left reality behind. Not that she remembered reality. She just knew all this felt strange.

She barely had time to contemplate the thought when others of the group took off towards whatever it was. "Wait! I'm coming, too!" Why not?

((Z12))

What was Z8 doing? Her actions seemed reckless and nonsensical, until he watched and realized. By sparring with the so called enemy, she was actually making ties? He guessed that kind of made sense. Nothing else did anymore. People were coming in from the fog all over, and more and more Z12 wanted to wake up from his crazy dream.

He jolted at the feeling of the cell phone vibrating. Shuddering, he shakily brought it out.

5... to guarantee his survival.

His sweat ran cold again. Everything about this place kept pitting them against each other. Please, let there be a silver lining now?
But instead, an explosion. Of course. 12 nearly jumped out of his skin. In his panic, he almost curled into a ball and cried, but instead, he ran after Z8.

{Z12 exiting}

It seemed no matter what he did or said, he was Mr. Cellophane. As Z8 ignored his protests that wrestling was a bad idea with a man easily three times her size, she kept going as though he wasn't there. "Oh... bother." He sagged as she was, predictably and disappointingly, brought down in one foul swoop. The moment he stepped forward to try to intervene, another Alpha member had leaped in.

Well. He wobbled, looking hurt and useless, watching the aftermath as there came another vibration from his pouch. A new text message? At "Tardis"'s sudden remark, he felt a touch irritated. Only a touch though. Well... pendants, hmm? Perhaps if he found one first people wouldn't think he was so useless? That sounded like an excellent plan, and seeing as how no one was paying attention to him to begin with, sneaking off would be simple and-

Something was falling down from the sky. Eyes wide behind his mask, Z4 ran.

((Z7)

Zzzzz........ shuddup kit, yer being...zzzzzzzz.
Obviously somebody was lost in dreamland yet again.
He wasn't just a sleep mumbler, he had to be a sleep puncher. Throwing random punches out as if he was fighting for a heavyweight title in his sleep.
Sadly before z8 could walk out in a bikini and hold up a card saying that it was round three, the ground rumbled beneath them, in tandem with his phone vibrating.

Z 7 was jarred away from his sleep, grabbing his gun in a panic as he looked around for the assailant that could be attacking them. "Wha-what! Who's there, I'll rip ya apart!" He wasn't very good at guarding apparently as he missed what happened.

But there was z 4 running across the beach, with a few others ahead of him. toward where the earthy vibrations was coming from. "s**t!" He had t pick up his frame from the ground and catch up to the others, his heart thundering in his chest over what was happening.
