Firefox keeps closing on me which is pissing me off.

And I love how even though my facebook says I'm a heretic, I keep getting adds for pagan jewelry, magical spells, and that Sacred Mists Wiccan College thingy xD

Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!'
Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'
XD I know right? I had heretic/gnostic for a while but yeah I really got sick of being lumped in with the New Agers.

Personally I've started identifying as a Christian before I say anything more about my views because after all heretics are still Christians. Besides the orthodoxy/heredoxy debate in all reality is long dead and over with and no real authority really cares. The only ones that keep it alive are those who profit from it like certain Protestant groups that think they are the "one true Church" and New Agers who need a pre-packaged and manufactured identity.

Also if you want to get technical and I love getting technical biggrin . If we go by the Catholic Church catechism every sect, save the Eastern Orthodoxy and sects like them, are heretics. And according to the Eastern Orthodoxy, every sect, including Catholics are heretics. Heretic literally means "choice". Now if there was One True Christianity as Ireneaus would have us believe then any choice except for his sect would be choosing to believe something contrary than the "Truth". But we now know that there were multiple Christianities and the model of One True Christianity and heretics being "splinters" is just a big illusion that only has meaning to those that hold to Ireaneaus's faulty model.

I just thought it was funny. I used to have mine set to Heretical Christian, then just Christian and recently changed it to Heretic because it would be easier to explain to my pagan friends. I could put non-douchebag Christian. I dunno Heretic has a better ring to it than Heretical Christian or just Christian to me. o.o I could put imvu's True Blue Heretic cause there's this guy who claims he's a heretic because most of the Christian community dislikes him because he's one of those people that gives Christians a bad name, and continually slanders Christians despite claiming to follow Christ and follow the Doctrines of denominations, whereas I don't follow a doctrine supported by most Christians neutral

And I don't mind half the "New Age" ads, some of the jewelry they show I actually want to buy. I have a thing for pentacles and ankhs and stuff like that. They're aesthetically pleasing to me.

Heretic is fine since it does mean "choice" and if I remember correctly, Flavius Josephus uses the word heresy to describe different schools of Judaism. We are a different school of thought so yeah Heretic is fine. I was just sharing my personal preference. In your case though, I can see why you'd want to go by heretic.

Won't deny that. Some of that jewelry is nice looking. I meant no disrespect to New Agers. I've just had bad experiences with some. Thank you for pointing out that I shouldn't be holding on to such prejudices.

Yeah. It does make my life simple xD

And I just overall have a distaste of the word "New Age" mainly because it's often used to discredit my beliefs because I'm very lax in nature and don't follow a certain person's beliefs. There's a better title to use concerning that, I just feel New Age is a tad bit offensive. But that's just me .__.

In other news I'm not quite over my depressive state. I keep thinking about the future and I don't even know if moving at this point would be worth it. I see myself happier but I don't know anymore. -sighs-

The term New Age actually does describe a particular movement. It's basically a movement that has roots in theosophy and is an expansion upon it in that one can gain esoteric knowledge without having to be part of any established tradition/order/temple/etc... While a neat idea, it obviously has problems with culture rape and misappropriation and they tend to lump all spiritual experiences and gnosi(sp?) as one and the same. That's my main beef with New Age. On a side note it's because of misuse of New Age why you have all the books on "Wicca" that have nothing to do with Wicca and "Buddhists" books that have little to do with Buddhism.

Using New Age as a derogatory though is kinda ignorant since there's nothing really wrong with New Age if someone is responsible about how they go about it.

Dunno about the Buddhist books, I've read a few Buddhist books and they have to do with Buddhism and other subjects, like happiness and Christianity (The Dalai Lama and Thich Nhat Thanh respectively).

I'm just a laid back hippie heretical Christian, or just flat out heretic for short. Not a New Ager. Not a non-Christian.

I need to start reading Like Buddha, Like Christ or whatever the book I have is called. Ugh this depressive state sucks a**. This is probably the longest I've been depressed and it's seriously affecting the way I think.

Damn...

Reading you guy's posts about weight is depressing me. stare

The lowest healthy weight I can reach is 170...

I have incredibly dense bones apparently. And I have a pretty dense muscle structure as well... The thing is, I have lost my tone, and I have an under-active thyroid as well.

After having my son my thyroid nearly stopped producing anything and I shot up to 225lbs. It took 2 years to get back to 180 (But I look pretty good at 180)...

After I had my daughter, I shot up to 250, and I have pretty much been holding at that for the last almost 4 years. I have done everything to lose weight, but nothing works. I dropped soda cold turkey, religiously worked out on my Wii fit, cut fried foods, walked, rode my bike (I was doing 14 miles a day at one point, back and forth from my family's business). Never lost a pound doing any of it.... crying ... on the up side, I do think it has kept me from the clutches of diabetes, and more tonnage.

I have more muscle now than I have had, so I am pretty sure when I eventually get done to a healthy size, it will be at a larger weight than was right for me before...

I have also started kelp supplements, because I heard you can jump-start a slow thyroid with iodine. It may just be wishful thinking, but it seems I have lost about 7 pounds in the last month, and it is staying off!

...but I will always envy you girls who have the ability to get below 150. sad

I've been locked inside that house, all the while You hold key
And I've been dying to get out, though that might be the death of me

Lucky...I'm short so I'm supposed to be around 150, but I'm also low-iron (so I have next to no energy all the time) and my thyroid's been funny ever since I had my tonsils out. No matter what I try, my metabolism won't speed up, so it's really hard for me to lose weight. xp

And all I'm asking is for You to do what You can with me
But I can't ask You to give what You already gave

I'll trade ya. xp

Yeah, you're a guy though. Most people don't judge guys by the standard they set for us female type. Even when I am fit, and I could punch out a horse, so to speak, I still get judged by how big I am, even when it's almost no fat.

I wish my problem was because I couldn't gain weight. Then I wouldn''t have the stress of how people see me + my health.... I would only have the health issue to worry about....

Anyway, have you ever had your thyroid checked? An overactive thyroid would prevent you from gaining weight, plus allot of other adrenal and heart issues.

Bad behaving thyroids are bad news, and very common. It's surprising that doctors don't give them much attention.
