"My end came out of relative necessity, and a result of both children being dragged into a long series of events spanning a year. When I finally learned of everything that was going on, let alone an attack at my residence, my arrival was to avoid attracting further trouble." Sol explained. "If you want a better explanation, that would be best left to my charge."

"I know it's gonna be a little hard to believe, but I used to be a Ranger. I was stationed in Orre, with a person named Albedo as my superior, when this group first got together. Most of them tried to take a matter in their own hands, and ultimately arrested for vigilantism. I decided to help them as repayment. Despite what some of them did, they helped when it was really needed.

"Unfortunately, my working on both sides caused a few issues in one way or another. I even ditched these guys after the first one, because I betrayed them. Later, I learned that the Union was heavily corrupted and my superior was the one running it all. I had no choice but to dismiss myself from them, helping the rest try and get them out of the picture. During the time, I ended up being an unwitting spy for Albedo, with him eventually able to completely use me as he wished. I dun wanna talk about how that felt.

"Not too long after they were able to finally break me away from him, we were finally able to see an end to those events. Albedo did himself in, he became too greedy and paid for it. The Union barely even exists now because of it all, if what's left can be called one. Since they were effectively a police force, we've taken it upon ourselves to keep thins from becoming rampant... sorta."

"The methods used aren't quite as just as you might think. Some are even quite shady. But they're not evil. Benefit theirselves, benefit what they can aside. I guess that would be a good way to explain it." Sol added. "I wouldn't take this as a reason to be nervous, but perhaps it's a personal side effect from having a life span that will outlive almost everyone."

"I dun care for some of it, but I kinda have no choice. I dun really wanna explain what I've been doing with going out every so often."

"You brought that up before, back at One Island. What do you mean?" A simple question that couldn't help but be asked.

For Sol, this was a bit eyebrow raising if he had one to speak of. Knowing of those with long lifespans weren't too unusual, though someone having gone that long certainly ranks high on the list. Having lived in the same village as one more than twice his age was another factor. "I can't say I know too much on what you're saying, but this is my mere fifty-five years speaking. I haven't gone long enough to find something familiar to a level such as that."

Ceramew, though, looked like she had swallowed a bug. "So what, I'm a toddler to him?"

"You are young, but fortunately not that young." Dealing with that two times was enough. "I wouldn't know how legendary circles work in that regard. Your... uniqueness is another factor."

"Um... I think they've been calling themselves Snagem or something. Or a few of them, anyway. I dun really follow it." She herself never cared to stick with any kind of title, being used to when nothing of the sort was around.

"If something like that is familiar, I would wager it's like those that believe in past lives. In a longer span's case, the past and current lives could belong to the same person in every way." Sol spoke up. "Mind you, this is purely conjecture."

"I wouldn't call myself a master, but yes, I'm well versed with fire. The sword I do have is anything but. It's normal fare, and at most, I only do a couple of attacks that can use it." Sol started off. "Any sort of relationship has been rendered a moot point for some time, though the two children are a much different matter. As for any of a phoenix's traits, they exist. But I personally prefer to avoid death. Makes too much of a mess." While maybe he should be freaked out, this didn't bother him at all. If anything, it supported the theory of a sort of past life.

"Um... yeah, I think this is a conversation I should stay out of." Ceramew was quick about going elsewhere, but not due to anything wrong. Her youth was really showing in this circumstance, and not being the most keen person on that, opted to get some distance.

"It's likely an adjust for others as well, and myself in a way. Your case is far different, but if your span has shown anything, it's that things can be taken in stride." Perhaps it felt a little odd with such a huge difference, but it made sense.

"Cipher. Are you for real?" I asked the grunt. But he went back to being silent on me. "You're responsible for that flooding in Cherrygrove! Aren't you!?"

"Not ME, necessarily." He said.

"Alright, now you're being smart." I said, readying an Ice Beam. "Who's your boss!? Answer me!"

"Tch..." He looked away.

I noticed something else as I was trying to rattle information out of him. ".......Freth. You sense that?"

"No. What?"

"That's just it. That other signature. Its gone." I said to her. I looked back at the grunt. "What were you after?"

"Something that is no business of yours." He said.

"................" He wasn't going to be compliant at all despite how dead to rights he is. Either he really has nerve or he is faced with a fate worse than death at my hands if he answered my questions.

All I knew is this now. Miles mentioned that the group that I had us separate from was picking a fight with these idiots. I wasn't going to have any hand in that because it wasn't my fight. If Cipher came all the way out here, intentionally stirring a hornet's nest of sorts or not by attacking MY home town, for whatever their gain was actually...its now my problem because for as all I know, this could very well happen again.

I dropped the grunt onto the ground. "What? Letting me go?"

"Hardly." I said, instantly giving him a chilling blast of Ice Beam for him to have the same fate as his partner. With a sigh, I looked back to Freth, Tristen, then Tails. "Guys, I think we're in for a trip now."

"Mt. Silver?" Freth asked.

"Mt. Silver."

"To join with Sub's group?" Tails asked. He didn't think there could be any other reason. Perhaps this was only a peon delivery -- that would be silly.
