Yeah, and I wasn't thinking of judging it on grammar and stuff, but more on things like creativity. But I like your idea; except then we'd have to pick a winner out of each of the categories, and then we'd need more members to post stuff, so I don't think that'd work.

She said, "writing contest," though... confused Anyway, I think it would be a cool idea, but maybe for when we are more prepaired for it and have more members. There aren't very many contestants available to us right now, so...

But (I'm building on Knives_Sama's idea here) maybe we could just submit Valentine's related stories/poems...blah,blah,blah...you know what I mean. And then maybe comment on each other's stuff. Don't know if that'll work though, maybe we should plan ahead for the next holiday that comes up (what is the next holiday, anyway?)

just thinking out loud on this one so i'm not putting this into the suggestion area, but i ran a few rp's that lasted awhile even one got to 10000 posts

my ways of keeping the rp's active are as followed

1. introduce more characters, i maybe played like 20 characters in one rp, you don't have to make them all memorable or even give them bios just put a bit of detail so it doesn't sound like generic npc number 1.
this gives the owner away of interacting with the players and keeps them involved, for example while one group is off in one area any left behind can go on a sub plot and get maybe more background story to share with the others later
for players this gives you a way of being included in alot more areas so if person x goes missing you can leave your character in limbo with them while you use your other character.

2. events happen, when the story get slow make something happen even if it's out of nowhere, like for example here we could be sitting at an inn and we hear screaming out side so we investigate, maybe run into some baddies attacking a lone survivor

3. plot happens deal with it- this is one of the reasons i hate the no god modding rule because this is designed to break it to advanced the story, mostly the owner is the only one that can do this,
it's hard to explain but say your fighting the villain in an encounter, but you're not suppose to win, the owner may have the villain use some sort of godlike move to show their power and make their escape. yes it's an auto hit, yes it's unfair, but the battle had to end and the villain is still needed.


these are again just me thinking out loud but maybe they'll help

Just because a baddie fires off some powerful attack doesn't mean that you have to get hit by it. By enforcing the no god-mod rule, then it just makes sure that you can't be invincible and dodge/redirect every single one of your enemie's attacks. It makes the roleplay more interesting because no matter who you are, your character can still suffer.

I didn't really get what you meant with the 20 players thing. I'm only allowing up to 3 characters per person in this guild. It's not going to change.

(sorry if I sounded very harsh; I've seen how cruel other guild leaders can be, but right now our plot has been carried out by our main baddie...and he's kind of not here. Your'e right though, about the plot just happening. Tough luck for the few who missed it, I suppose. Maybe we can have Rumia and yuphesweird's Shadow Hound take over for a bit while we wait for the others.)

Well, I gotta agree with Poseur on that one. I like the fact that there is a limit on how many characters a person can have; because then you actually know who the hell you're roleplaying with.

I'm willing to bring out my shadow puppy to play around for a bit; I guess I'll go set him up in the forest right now...

i gave the 20 characters just as a example i didn't mean for everyone to make up 20 characters, and since it's a more abandoned town it's not very likely to run into many characters, but a few npc's would be nice like maybe some lone survivors, no one major or very relevant to the plot.


my point about the god mode is more i've had people complain and whine when i had my villains in other rp's do something like an attack that freezes them in time while the villain leaves the battle, they would call it god moding or auto hitting and tend to whine the whole time over it, when really I did it to end the battle and move the story on.
i mean just because the villain shows up doesn't mean you can defeat them. i'll give an example

villain shows up gives speech about current events
player draws sword to attack villain
villain uses a time stopping technique to freeze player and leaves
once the villain is gone time starts up player is unfrozen but now villain is gone.

i do like having limits and knowing that my character can suffer, struggle. and yes i do hate when people dodge every attack you throw at them, or shrug it off like it did nothing,


and again i'm only posting my thoughts here hence why it's here and not in the suggestion box,

Well, you wouldn't need to time stop if you wanted to get out of the battle (which I actually do think would be god-modding) you could just go "poof" and then be all...gone. neutral
