Moments later, the waitress came back to Alice and informed her that Harrison had actually gone out for the rest of the evening. Alice felt discouraged, but took it as a sign that this wasn't meant to be. This wasn't meant to be how she was supposed to get the money to save Bella. At least, initially. She then began to take it as her own uselessness. Nevertheless, she thanked the waitress and turned to leave the club. Before she was able to leave, she felt a slight tugging at the corner of her sleeve and the sight of a middle-aged man seated at one of the tables near the exit.

"Well, aren't you a pretty little thing," he spoke with an eerie rasp, the kind of voice that would normally have startled her to her very core. Now, she found herself wanting to turn to the man and ask him what the hell he wanted, although she was still somehow able to keep herself from doing so.

"Beauty is relative," Alice replied with almost a cold tone. Right now she did not see herself in any positive way. Right now she felt ugly on the inside and that was all that mattered to her. She wanted to disappear and a part of her was starting to think that was exactly what she was going to do. She would somehow manage to make the fifty dollars that she had in her pocket and leave this town. Of course, she would be breaking her promise to Cailen that she wasn't going anywhere, and she had no idea how everyone would react.

"Well that don't sound very good. Bet I could show ya just how beautiful you were," the man smiled as he spoke the words, awkwardly emphasizing on the word beautiful, as if it was something foreign that his lips had never spoken before, almost as if the word was too... advanced for his sentence.

Alice couldn't believe what she was hearing. It was obvious what this man was hinting at, as if she was that easy of a girl that she would just sleep with anyone who gave her a compliment. Although Alice might have felt that way about herself, she still wasn't going to justify allowing herself to make such a mistake because she was guilty about the way she had been acting. "No, thank you," she managed to still reply politely, even though she wanted to call out the man for being so bold with her. This seemingly just made the man chuckle, still keeping his grip of the edge of the material on Alice's sleeve. "Why dont'cha just let me buy you a drink?"

The man was seemingly not going to quit. Alice sighed, deciding that she had nothing to lose by letting him buy one drink for her. It was probably after 5pm anyway, so it wasn't that horrible, even though she was really not one to dabble in alcohol. Once she sat down at the table with the man, he introduced himself as Jason and asked her what she would like for him to purchase for her. Alice found herself to be slightly distracted, looking at her surroundings, not really believing where she was. It was still early in the evening, so there weren't many dancers currently working, but there were a few, and that was enough to make Alice wonder why she would even agree to stay for a drink with a complete stranger. Perhaps she just lost the ability to care.

"To be honest... I don't drink. I wouldn't even know what to order. I've just had a really, really rough day...." Alice explained, starting to feel like one of those movie characters you see in television shows, pouring their heart out to a random bartender, except in her case, it was to the complete stranger, who was at least ten years older than she, who had invited her to his table for a drink. Jason let out another chuckle and called one of the waitresses over to order a drink that Alice didn't even catch the name of; it didn't matter. She told herself she would sit through one drink, and then come up with some excuse to leave. When the drinks arrived, the waitress leaned over on the table, exposing way too much cleveage than Alice had cared much to see and set them down on the table. Without even giving it much thought, Alice picked up the drink and chugged it as if she were in college being cheered on by a room full of party-goers. Jason just looked in her direction and laughed, "Might want to slow down, sweetheart."

Don't tell me what I want and what I don't. Right now, I'm going to pretend that today didn't happen. I'm going to pretend that one of my best friends isn't missing. I'm going to pretend that I didn't cheat on my boyfriend and that I'm not in love with another man. Alice contemplated saying the words out loud to this Jason character, but she really didn't care to spill everything to him. She'd had her one drink, and now she was leaving. Except that wasn't how things turned out. Instead, she allowed Jason to talk her into staying longer, into ordering another drink, and another.

~

Along with the pain she had experienced in her shoulder from her earlier fall, Alice awoke with a strong pain in her head. A dim light was turned on above her, but when she looked around she couldn't recognize her surroundings. What she did know, was that she was lying on someone's couch. Looking around, she noticed that the place wasn't exactly - dirty, just very untidy and cluttered. Whoever lived there definitely did not spend his or her time keeping the place organized.

"Well hello, Sleeping Beauty," Alice heard the sound of Jason's voice ring from behind her. Her first thought was immediately of disgust, thinking that she had ended up sleeping with the man after having a few drinks while they were at the strip club. She couldn't remember a thing that had gone on between then and now. Almost as if he could read her mind, he spoke, "Don't worry. You just had a bit too much. Couldn't tell me where ya lived or nothing so I couldn't take you home. Didn't sleep with you or nothing."

Alice felt relieved, almost. She wasn't sure if the man was telling the truth, but she was fully clothed, so she decided that she would believe him. After all, if he was lying to her, there was the potential that he would pay the price later on down the road if he was infected with what she was surely infected with as well.

"Wher-um I? Uhhhmy head hurts." Alice both questioned and informed him. Her words were slurring, clearly a lot of alcohol was still in her system. It hadn't been that long since she had arrived at Indulgence to try to speak with Harrison, and now she was in a strange place, still drunk, with a man she had only met that day. Perhaps if she wasn't intoxicated, this would be where some sort of panic slipped in, but instead she decided that she just wanted to be outside, to take a walk. She informed Jason that she was feeling fine and that she was just going to walk home, even though she had no idea where home was in relation to where she currently was. He didn't argue, knowing that he wasn't able to keep her there anyway.

Stepping out of his house, she noticed that he had to be located just outside of the city, she was able to see a few trees lining the road instead of apartment buildings. Not thinking about where she was even going, Alice began to stumble on the sidewalk, going in no direction in particular. It didn't take her long at all to start feeling around in her pocket for the cell phone that thankfully was not in her purse currently not in her posession. Realizing that she was completely unable to work the menu in her inebriated state, Alice mashed her finger on the "talk" button to dial the last number she had called, which happened to be Adam. When she heard a voice on the other end, she was unsure if it was just a voicemail or if she was actually speaking to a real person. Either way, she began to stumble out some words.

"I don't know where I am. Please come find me? There's uh... um.. gas... pump station thing. Willy. Will. Wilson. Yeah, that last one. Sign says Willlson. I'm not drunk, I promise. No I'm lying. I'm sorry. Don't hate me. Don't be mad," Alice ended the call and flopped down back onto the pavement, this time lying down horizontally as she waited for one of two things; for death, or for someone to come pick her up. She didn't much care which one came first.

outofcharacter: What an epic post to mark Bella's return to the roleplayyyyy! : D
Also, I've decided to have Alice's character start to go a little... well, downhill, after the events of the day, like she's hit her breaking point so to speak. Hopefully everyone doesn't hate it. D:< Time wise, just assume it's only shortly after she left the hospital, to keep on the same page as everyoe else.

Also, I'm sooo sorry this is so long. It's ridiculous. I totally just got into a "zone" and couldn't stop writing. Haha, that was a NaNoWriMo flashback, right there!

PS. TEN PAGES! Epic win. <3

As soon as the music started up in the other room, Tony's interest peeked. He nodded towards the men and stood up. The poker game was highly important to get up and walk away from for the others, but to Tony it was just practice. He followed the music and leaned himself against the threshold. His eyebrow raised to see Bella dancing, it seemed playful at first but then her whole demeanor changed. She just let herself go, and the little boy was just in shock as to what she was doing. Tony was the one to grab Ronald and turn his face away. But he continued to watch her, a smirk growing on his lips. She was a beautiful dancer, she knew how to move her body. Tony combed his fingers through his hair and let out a quiet breath. He wanted to whistle, but was afraid it would disturb her. She was in her own world, he could tell with her eyes shut so tightly.

He felt a tap on his shoulder and his eyes widened. It was Harrison; Harrison was interested in his hostage. Tony felt a twinge of jealousy at the pit of his stomach. If the Boss showed interest, that meant Tony would lose all privilege to her. Hopefully, he'd be able to talk his way through it. He couldn't lose his most precious piece of leverage. But suddenly the music stopped and Harrison was grinning like a fool. Tony knew what that meant: Bella was now Harrison's property. Tony felt his hands ball into fists. Hopefully there'd be a way to still keep up the deal with Cailen. He looked towards Bella with a quick applause, "Bravo, really... Bra-vo." If Harrison was going to smack him for speaking up, then he'd gladly take it. The girl was brilliant, and Tony wanted her all to himself. He wanted her for the money, and he wanted her for many other reasons.

A plan suddenly popped into his head. He had to get little Bella to trust him. If she trusted him, then he could possibly get her to do anything. 'Maybe if I told her all about how I changed my mind, that I'll save her from Harrison and his evil strip club.' He looked away and smiled. When Harrison was done speaking with her, Tony would approach her and tell her all about it. When she believed he was going to bring her back, he'd take her to his place just for the night. For it was far too late to drive a pretty girl home. They had to wait till daylight, to protect her from the dangers of the night. Tony crossed his arms over his chest and put on his best face. His plan was going to work, he knew it. Girls always fell for him, even without him saying a single word. Hopefully, this girl wasn't so different.

Cailen$Legosi

With Skylar’s help, it was easier to carry Jack into the hospital. As they walked, she mentioned something about what Jack was trying to say when he was awake. At first Cailen thought he was just worried about Bella being gone. Sometimes you say weird things when you go in and out of consciousness. Then again, sometimes you say things you wouldn’t normally want to say. Was there something that Jack was hiding? What did he feel guilty about, something that Skylar would hate him over? They walked for a little bit before it finally hit him. Bella is pregnant. Jack is guilty of something. Jack is the father of Bella’s baby. The thought hit Cailen hard. Never would he have thought Jack. He was in a perfectly good relationship with Skylar. Then again, never would he have thought Alice would sleep with Adam. He then realized that he never answered Skylar’s question. He wondered if his silence made her suspicious. He hoped not. “I dunno. He’s probably just worried about Bella. Maybe he feels guilty about her kidnapping.” Saying that made Cailen feel even more guilty. With all that has been going on, he hasn’t had much time to focus on getting the money for Tony. Bella has been put on the back burner, and he didn’t really like that.

“He must have hit his head real hard. He probably doesn’t even know what he is saying.” Cailen kept rambling off trying to make up excuses. He wasn’t absolutely sure his conclusion was accurate, and he didn’t want to cause any unnecessary problems. If he was right, then he didn’t want to be the one to tell her. He wouldn’t spill the beans on Bella when she trusted him with her secret. He also didn’t want to be the one to ruin Jack and Skylar’s relationship. He knew what it was like to hear that the person you loved had cheated on you. “How did Jack hit his head?” He hoped the question distracted her from the earlier question. After finding out that he and Alice’s relationships is on the edge, he didn’t want to witness the potential ending of another good relationship. Jack and Skylar have been together for a long time, their relationship stronger than Cailen and Alice’s. Jack and Skylar made sense together, and if they separated it would be like Mickey and Minnie Mouse separating. I’m just overreacting, what am I thinking? Jack doesn’t know what he is saying. It’s the concussion talking. Cailen took comfort in convincing himself of that. It was easier to think than if Jack was the father of Bella’s baby.

Sitting behind his desk, Declan Harrison had been in his sound-proof office downtown. Pouring over business transactions and running a few unneccessary letters through the shredding machine beside his file cabinet. Everything related to shady business was to be shredded; no exceptions. Shredded and burned in the fireplace, if the paperwork was especially shady, and the paperwork he had just been perusing had been especially shady. Which was why Declan prided himself on having photographic memory. With his job, it was an invaluable necessity. Unlike usual; however, Declan did not have a lighthearted smile to his face. Although his visits to the Casino to check up on business with Tony were few and far between, when Declan happened to see a stunning gem, he took advantage of the moment.

A moment Harrison thought had been lucky...But the girl had failed to show. Sitting upstairs in 'Indulgence', Harrison had waited almost an entire hour for that cute little blonde to show up for their meeting; but, an hour was all he was going to wait without recieving a phone call, so he returned to his main office downtown to shred important documents. Shredding was something Declan liked to do to alleviate stress or frustration. Perhaps the anger had been evident on his face, but one of his employee's had sent that text to Alexis to find out just why that woman hadn't shown. Harrison let other people deal with petty problems; just one of the perks to being in a position of power. When they knew something, he would know something.

Which led Harrison to recall the other damper to his day: Cailen Legosi. His other business besides unmentionable films, his Club: Indulgence, and undercover drugs was, of course: Gambling. In his day, he had won quite the many pokar tournaments. Enough to warrant being in a competition on national television; which was how he had met his wife, and funded his very own casino. Tony's casino, Harrison playfully dubbed, since the man took care of all his gambling affairs. '
Keep an eye out for talent, Tony.', and he certainly did. In the short run, Cailen had done a marvellous job playing pokar at the tables. So Tony had trusted him with more money, only to have thrown his pearls before the wrong hopeful star.

In Harrison's mind, money could solve anything...and Cailen had cost him over a hundred-fold over the amount he promised to earn. Eleven grand was nothing to Harrison's lavish income; but, it was the princible of the thing. Perhaps he was punishing himself, having been addicted to gambling for six out of forty-three years of his life. Usually Harrison never associated business with anything personal; but, when Cailen lost the money, after seeing how good that man had originally played...he was mortified. Embarrassed. Offended...and he demanded retribution. At the very least, Harrison wanted his money back. And Tony was the perfect man for the job; the only man he trusted with personal matters. Break him; Harrison had said, and he knew Tony would take care of it for him.

Reading text messages on his cell phone to check in with Tony every so often, Harrison was pleased to discover that his employee had taken the initiative to kidnap Cailen's sister. Tony knew Declan's policy of 'look but don't touch' for all women, so he knew the girl wouldn't come to any harm; but, if it was necessary Tony could do what he wanted to earn the money. Regardless of how much Harrison hated killing women. His father had raised him up a gentleman, and though he might cut off a few fingers and ship them to her family for leverage, killing was a last resort. One Harrison never looked forward to, and prefered to know nothing about.

Only waiting around the office out of sheer desire of not becoming more emotionally involved in this Cailen affair than he already was, seeing Alexis' text forwarded to his phone put Declan on his final nerve.

She's outside the hospital.
I think the b***h blew you off, boss.

His irish face tinting red from frustration, Harrison irritatingly set the remaining papers on his desk into his briefcase and shoved the phone back into his pocket. Unlike usual, Declan made the inward decision to make this case personal. Thinking dark thoughts about possible means of torture he could discuss with Tony on how to cause Cailen the most damage, perhaps to kidnap his 'girlfriend' as well, Harrison made his way towards his four-person limousine and climbed into the back-seat.

"
Take me to the cabin please.", The cabin, was his nickname for his old office building where the unmentionables were kept. At the moment 'Bella' was one of those 'unmentionables'. For the most part, it was a lounge where the: Boys played pokar or babysat his youngest son Ronald when his mother was out of town. His second marriage obviously beyond repair.

~

The drive took longer than Declan had anticipated; but, when it was over Harrison tipped his hat to the man, grabbed his briefcase, and headed inside the building. '
At least Ronald will be happy to see me.' Declan assumed, regretting that he spent such little time with the boy. Especially at his age. Opening the door to hear peculiar eighties style music softly blaring from the lounge, Declan raised a curious brow and hurried up the glistening black staircase.
Of course, nothing could have prepared him for what lay around the corner.

His eyes welling up and his face paling over; it was almost as if Harrison was looking at a ghost, watching Bella dance. A ghost Harrison could not forget.

~

There was nothing quite like walking in on his wife doing the dishes when she thought he was asleep. The first time he caught her swaying her hips to the music had been an accident, and though it was true that Martha danced atrociously, there was such a passionate spirit in her movements that outweighed the slight jerks her body grooved to. It embarrassed his wife to high heaven when she finally turned around and caught him standing there; but, by then he was hooked. Sometimes, he used to pretend to fall asleep just to wait for the sound of her operatic voice to alert him that it was 'cleaning time'. Like a shy doe, his wife always insisted on cleaning while everyone was asleep. Martha tended to consider her housework the way an artist appraises a blank canvas. 'You can't look until it's finished.' and for the most part Harrison obeyed.

After the cancer had taken dear Martha on her thirty-forth birthday, Harrison had poured out all his energy into his work. But he was always secretly looking, hoping, to find a glimpse of his wife once more. In everything he did, he looked. Most had dubbed him as having a soft spot for 'girl-next-door' types, and part of that was true...but only because Martha had that 'home'...'framiliar'...'sweet' quality that the stereotype conveyed. When he had seen his second wife shyly conversing at a family get-together it had drawn him. With catching Alice nervously walking around the casino, he had been a moth to the flame.

Harrison knew he would never find his wife again, nor did he want her replica, but that same passionate spirit continued to elude him. In all his feminine choices, when he found they did not possess that spirit that their 'shyness' or 'innocense' suggested, Declan lost interest. Having been dissatisfied so many times since the death of his wife, Declan had long since given up on finding it. As far as he was concerned, at his age, he would continue to be dissatisfied, so being shunned by Alice early had not been taken personally.

That; however, was before Harrison walked in on Bella.

~

His eyes welled up from surprise; nay, complete shock, Harrison had watched with ravenous appreciation. Like a dirt-fed child scraping the bowl of a delicious stew. There it was, that spirit that had eluded him since Martha died. The real thing instead of the replicas he had wasted his time for. In another world back in his mind, Martha was scrubbing dishes and shaking her hips to Elevation by u2. Just vaguely blasting out of the headphones attached to her casette player. His bashful little wife completely unrestrained as she added another saucer to the strainer and reached into the bath water to grab another one.

His eyes never leaving Bella for a moment, when her dancing switched from endearment at seeing her dance with his son; to the unintended erotica in her fluid movements, Harrison had to lift up his briefcase to hide the evidence of how strongly titillated her dancing had caused him to be. Nothing could have set the stage better than eighty's pop, in his opinion. At least it was more pleasant to the ears than all that techno crap the younger ladies insisted upon dancing to in Indulgence. Seeing an open flame passionately burning everything around her, there was still that innocense subtly shining out in all her movements, like she was a virgin sacrifice trying to appease the gods.

Seeing Bella aimlessly point forward to the lyrics 'Glad, your mine'; Harrison's gaze intensified because she had unknowingly pointed her finger directly at him. Seeing her leg curl around the pole before twirling around it like a child, hugging it against her body, and belting out with her head raised behind her in ecstacy was too much for Harrison to witness without fixing his collar. '
If I don't stop her now I'll take her into the back room and ravage her.'. The music turning off with a little click, Harrison watched dear Bella with the intensely pleading eyes. That dirt-fed boy had scraped the final spoonful out of that bowl, and like Oliver twist, debated getting on his knees and asking for more. And that woman was fully clothed.

Unlike others, who may have allowed the erotic spell to end when she stopped dancing, Bella's expression of panic on her face only bolstered his attraction. The look of mortification that splashed onto Martha's face every time she turned around and finally noticed him leaning against the door frame. ' GOODNESS DECLAN! You gave me such a fright! How long have you been standing there?' and he would comment the dreaded compliment that reddened her face and made her cover her body in shame she didn't need to feel. Watching little Bella cover her already clothed body protectively from the same psychological 'unclean' compulsion was what kept the briefcase hovering over his groin. A shy, wild, little thing. He was hard as a rock underneath the briefcase's protection. No little blue pill needed.

Normally Declan had a strict 'No combining business with pleasure' policy. But if he could watch Bella dance, he would be there every night at Indulgence in the front row. Declan never watched his 'girls' dance, it broke the 'father figure/protector' persona he tried to implant to keep business seperate from pleasure. Truly thinking that matter over, a twinge of jealousy surfaced in his gut at the idea of other men watching Bella dance half-naked on that stage. Ironically the same moment Tony piped up in appreciation.

"Bravo, really... Bra-vo.", The clapping was a little much for Harrison to listen to without sneaking a glare in Tony's direction. Smacking the back of his hand jokingly across Tony's upper arm beneath the shoulder as a warning, his eyes remained on Bella's swollen lips and pleasantly flushed face. Like Hell Bella was dancing for other men. Wiping the intensitity of his gaze down a few notices, Harrison politey smiled and turned to look at Tony, saying after a laugh:

"
Tony, this girl is exhausted, can you fetch her a glass of water?", Bella was certainly his property now, and he wanted to invoke his authority. Turning back to Bella, now that it was safe to lower the briefcase, Declan bent and outstretched his hand with a trustworthy face to help lift bella up off of the ground. ' Get you away from the pole.' Continuing to smile in a gentlemanly manner, he brought Bella over to the couch and sat down in the chair beside where she was sitting. Ronald wasting no time in plopping up beside her and nuzzling his face into Bella's flannel-covered chest. ' Your not the only one.' Looking back up at Bella's face, he raised his hand to shake Bella's own. And though reluctantly at first, Bella cautiously complied.

"
What is your name; beautiful?", she seemed hesitant to answer, and Harrison saw her throat move to swallow access saliva.

"
B...Bella. Bella Legosi.", Harrison held back a laugh. The irony was too great. ' Like Dracula?...Wow, I wouldn't have pegged you for a bloodsucker.', A popular movie in his father's day, and he had been raised knowing just who: 'Bela Legosi' was. ' I wonder if her parents realized the connection when they named her.' She probably got that alot, so he wouldn't mention anything. Smiling curteously, he let loose a gentle laugh before making his reply.

"
Well, Bella, your a very spirited dancer. I havn't seen anyone dance like that in quite some time.", Bella's pale face reddened and paled from being, once more, mortified. Harrison grinned in eager satisfaction at seeing that face again. An undeniable pleasure evident in his cheerful smile.

"
...thank you...", He loved how uncomfortable the compliment had made her, and wanted to reassure her a little in the hopes of doing it again.

"
Bella, you look positively-", her eyes started to bulge as if the possibility of another compliment would make her bite back upchucked vomit in disgust. He only hesitated a second. "--famished, have you eaten anything today?", Harrison turned around to stare at the others in the room accusingly, as if such a thing had been done to her today. Particularly at tony, if he was back in the room.

"
N...not since breakfast.", Again Bella seemed distracted, as if the idea of eating anything he were to offer was to accept rat poison. Given her predicament, Harrison found that understandable and ignored any other alternatives. Such as Bella being too concerned for the baby to lie and say she had. Harrison boldly grinned his hundred-watt smile.

"
Then we'll have to get you some food right away. --Tony," Harrison didn't bother turning around. " Where is my car?", he then looked around with an inquisitive expression and searched the room until his eyes settled upon Tony's own. Bella's eyes widened at the idea of being taken to yet another place, and began to fidget with her fingers in her lap with a worried expression on her face.

"
My casino has a spectacular new menu now, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.", he said the words in a nice way, raising his hand and signalling for any car to be pulled around for them; but, he was not letting Bella debate the matter. She was hungry, she would have to be by now, and he had all the money in the world to show the pretty little thing a good time. His plan was not so very different from Tony's, except perhaps his was less devious. Declan found something he wanted to work for, and he was going to use all the money and 'sob stories' he had like a peacock blooming his tail feathers.

"
Tony, will you come with us?", he commanded after grabbing Bella's soft little hand and escorting her from the couch. Bella unintentionally shot Tony what looked to be a 'pleading' look, but he figured that was just her fear that he was trying to entangle her in a trap of some sort. As gentle as she looked, women could be unpredictable, and it was always a good idea to have some muscle around besides Casino security to make sure no one tried to whisk Bella away. Or let her escape them.

And walking out into the car, he opened the passanger door all gentleman like and got into the car behind her. Bella's hands still twiddling and fidgeting in her lap in the duration of the car ride. Barely speaking louder than a whisper at first; but, steadily warming up to answers longer than 'yes' or 'no' by the time the car pulled up into the parking lot of his Casino.

Unfortunately for Bella, the security guards had already been texted, and stood at all exits of the casino with their arms crossed aggresively and hate sticks attached to their belts. What other choice did Bella have other than comply?
Stay with the demons you drown
Stay with the spirit I found
Stay and the night would be enough

[So....that turned out to be longer than I anticipated...^^;; Oopsies on my part. And no worries Bleu! I wuv when you role-play ramble. Happens to the best of us...Lol, what am I saying? Alice was unsure just how long she had been lying on the ground before the sight of two bright headlights finally urged her to rise from her makeshift bed. She expected to see the familiar picture of Adam’s vehicle, but instead her eyes were captured by flashing red and blue lights. Well that’s just peachy! Attempting, and failing, to stand, Alice remained seated on the sidewalk while she waited for the uniformed officer to exit the flashing vehicle and ask her what was going on.

Well… officer, I think I had a bit too much to drink. Some guy took me back to his place and he was entirely creepy. So I bailed, and now, well… I have no idea where I am,” Alice spat out, making it clearly evident that she was still intoxicated.

The same tickle that had shown itself while Alice was in Adam’s apartment started to once again, inch its way up her throat, making it hard for her to actually get the words out that she wanted to say, on top of being in her current state. Once again she began to cough profusely, her body shaking as she did so. The officer questioned her to see if she was alright, but she found herself completely unable to answer while her lungs were violently expelling air as if she had spend her entire life chain smoking cigarettes. Nausea overtook her and she found herself hurdling over and expelling the contents of her stomach onto the pavement. Alice had not been more embarrassed in her life; this was one of the reasons that she never saw the point in drinking.

Just… take me to the hospital,” Alice stated as she finally managed to maintain whatever composure was possible given her current circumstance. Without giving it another thought, the officer obliged and escorted her to the front entrance of Mercy Hospital. Alice hiccupped, then thanked him as she stumbled out of the car, thankful that she had escaped a visit to the drunk tank for the night. Once out of the car she made her way over to the Emergency Entrance, figuring that she had a lot of explaining to do regarding her absence.

Upon entering, the triage nurse immediately noticed her intoxicated state and rushed over to Alice in order that she make sure that she wasn’t another drunken patient coming to the hospital to cause a fuss. She asked if Alice needed to see a doctor.

Oh, probably. But I don’t want to. I’m sick but I don’t want to be tested to confirm what it is,” Alice explained, as if it made perfect sense that she did not want to find out for certain that she was HIV positive. The nurse, however, didn't seem the understand Alice's logic and coaxed her into letting her take her pulse, blood pressure and creating a chart so that she could see a doctor.

When Alice was sent to the waiting area, her face first drained of all color, and then turned seventeen shades of red when she saw her friends sitting there, presumably waiting for Jack to see a doctor, as he had suffered a fall as well.

"Yeah, I'm drunk. Go ahead. Tell me I'm an idiot," Alice almost dared the group to do as she sat down in one of the uncomfortable hospital chairs.

The bright lights forced Jack to open his eyes. The nurse was hovering over him. Jack looked about at his current situation and felt like someone had hit him repeatedly in the head with a baseball bat. The nurse grabbed his arm and adjusted the needle that pushed fluids and medicine into his veins. They probably thought he was dehydrated, probably from the explanation that he just fell, or something to that effect. He reached up to touch his head, realizing they had wrapped him up pretty tight. They had also cleaned him up. He felt more comfortable and at ease, knowing that he was fine. He nodded towards the nurse, "My... my friends, are they still...?" She giggled and nodded, "They're all out there, sweet of them to all show up just for you..."

Jack laughed, he had a feeling that it wasn't just for him. It was just plain luck that they had all wound up together again. "Thank you." He started to sit up and swing his legs over to get up, forgetting about the needle. The nurse pushed him back down rather hard and grunted. Jack sighed, he felt perfectly fine, what mattered was getting Bella back.

"I can go, I'm fine... We have somewhere important to be." The nurse just shook her head and headed out of the room. She poked her head into the waiting area.

"The friends of," She checked her chart. "Jack Desmond...? You can see him now, one at a time."

Jack felt the pit of his stomach churn. It wasn't nausea, though. He worried about Bella, he felt like they were wasting valuable time. He had to find a way to get out, or at least make his friends leave him alone and get Bella back. He felt around his pockets, praying that his things were still there. Luckily, his phone was put back into his pocket. He decided to try one thing: Text Bella. If she did not reply, he knew she was in more trouble than just kidnapping.

          To: Bella
          From: Jack
Message: Hey -- I hope you're still okay.
We're all working our hardest to get you back.

          I'm sorry.

He felt even worse once he sent the message. It just pained him to have to revert to texting someone, who was probably scared shitless, a message that didn't mean a thing. Jack just wanted the day to end and everything to return to its usual routine. If he just went home and watched TV, knowing that Bella and Cailen would be together again, knowing that Bella was just a phone call away, then he knew that everything was fine. But everything was far from fine, nothing had gone right during that day, nothing.

Jack contemplated grabbing a syringe and shoving air into his veins. That way, he would just never have to worry about anyone again. But he shook the thought away and mentally hit himself. He can't just run away from his problems, that was the worse thing he could do. He just sighed and waited, if he had to he would rip the needle out of his arm and run.

Harrison was just jerking him around, toying with him. Tony did everything he asked, though. He had to, if he went against the Big Man's orders there would be hell to pay. Tony just walked out into the car and hopped into the driver's seat to warm it up a bit. Once Harrison and Bella were in the back seat, Tony felt like they were back tracking. He let out a breath and couldn't help but watch them through the rear view mirror.

Tony wanted to speak up, prove that he wasn't just another of Harrison's lackies. He was his own, he was a guy of power and he knew how to use it. He was a relatively smart guy, he wasn't going to let Harrison push him around and take away his hostage. Tony gripped the steering wheel a bit too tight.

Once they arrived at the casino, Tony got out and opened the door for them to get out, like a true gentleman. When he knew Harrison wasn't looking, he shot Bella a look that said: "I'll get you out of this, trust me."

User ImageSkylar was hoping that Cailen would have some answers for her. He seemed like he had some thoughts going on in his head. He hadn’t spoken for awhile. Maybe he was just worried about Bella. They all needed to try harder to find her. Skylar felt guilty that she hadn’t been thinking of her lately. What kind of friend was she? Not a very good one. She hadn’t done anything to help. She hadn’t even called the cops like she wanted to. Today was just not a good day.

”I guess you’re right. I’m just worried. I couldn’t think of anything that would make me actually hate him. I’m sorry.” Skylar felt like she was just overreacting to everything today. She still had no idea when she was going to tell everyone about the news she received from her dad. Maybe she just wouldn’t tell any of them. Everyone had too many problems today already. She didn’t need anyone worrying over her when they all need to be worried about getting Bella back, not to mention making sure Jack and Alice were okay.

Skylar was taken out of her thoughts when Cailen asked about how Jack had fallen. ”I’m not too sure. Jack started to act really strange. I think he was just going into shock or something because of the whole thing with Bella. He started walking to his car and the next time I looked at him he was falling. I don’t know if he hit his head prior to falling or if it just happened.” She wished she knew more about what happened. She couldn’t even do that right.

She was relieved when they finally handed Jack off to some nurses who were sure to take care of him. Now all that they could do was wait for him to wake up. She would have to try and think of some ways to get money to help get Bella out of the situation she was in. It was the least she could do after what she had done today, which was nothing. She knew that she should sit down while she waited for things to start but she just couldn’t. She started to pace back and forth.

When she heard Alice’s voice she turned. She remembered the text she had received from Cailen mentioning that the reason they were at the hospital was because Alice had fallen too. She hoped Alice was alright but hearing what actually came out of Alice’s mouth made her pause. Alice drunk? What happened to her? She couldn’t help but walk over to her. Alice was one of her closer friends in the group. She really hoped Alice was okay, especially with that text she had sent her. Skylar knelt down in front of her so she could be close to eye level. ”You are not an idiot. You are one of the smartest people I know.” Of course it was at that moment that the nurse came out saying that they could see Jack one at time. She felt she needed to see how he was right away. Turning back to Alice she smiled apologetically. ”I have to go check on Jack. Just remember that I care about you and that’s not going to change.” It may have seemed over the top to say stuff like that to Alice when she walked in with her attitude but with the events of today, Skylar just felt she had to say it. Now Alice was another person she would worry about.

She slowly walked into the room and smiled at Jack. ”Hey, how are you feeling?” She hoped that he was feeling a little better now that he had some professional medical help. She stood next the bed so he wouldn’t have to move much. ”You really had me worried there.”

[I went off and made a new layout. I like it at the moment]

As soon as Skylar entered the room, Jack felt what seemed like a rock hit the bottom of his stomach and someone was gnawing on his heart. She was striking, even after being worried, suddenly she seemed more relieved, like she can finally move on. Jack smiled back at her. He didn't have much to say until she stood by him and asked how he was doing. He grabbed her hand and held it tightly.

"I'm fine now, I'm really sorry..."

Out of all the people, he never wanted Skylar to be worried, upset, or hurt. The idea of telling her what happened between Bella and him kept popping into his mind, but he swallowed it down. He couldn't tell her, he just didn't want to see pain in her eyes. He wanted to always make her smile and laugh; He started to finally think about what he had said to Bella.

          'I love you.'

Did he really mean it? Or was he just confused and just trying to please his best friend? Jack never regretted a single thing, but he started to regret being with Bella that night. If he had just called Cailen to pick her up, none of it would have happened. They'd all be together still, not worrying about where Bella was. And in Jack's case, how Bella and their unborn child was doing. He couldn't be one of those fathers that abandoned the mother, but at the same time he couldn't abandon Skylar. He still had feelings for her.

Gentley, Jack pulled Skylar's hand to his lips and kissed it. His puppy eyes looked up at her as he smiled. She was always beautiful, in every light, in every angle, her eyes captivated him. He couldn't imagine another day without her in his arms.

Finally, his lips parted, "you know how I feel about you, right?" He smirked and kissed her knuckles again.

When Skylar knelt in front of her to tell her that she did not think at all that she was an idiot, Alice resisted the urge to fling her arms around her friend. Even though she felt like she'd been nothing short of an idiot, it was comforting to hear that not all faith was lost in her. Alice then remembered that Skylar had sent her a text earlier that day in response to the accidental message that she had received. She made a mental note that later she would hold her friend to her offer of talking about what the text was about.

Almost as soon as a nurse came out to inform the group that one by one, they were permitted to see Jack, another nurse came out to inform Alice that one of the doctors would be able to see her now. She didn't want to be seen by the doctor, right then all Alice wanted to do was be there for her best friend who's boyfriend had just been potentially seriously injured. Of course, Alice wasn't given the choice and sighed as she rose from her chair, looking back at both Cailen and Adam with pleading face that said, "Please don't let this woman take me in there!" Even though there was nothing that could be done.

Once inside of the tiny hospital room, Alice decided to take the opportunity to lie down on the bed, which was much more comfortable than the sidewalk she had previously chosen as her last resting stop. Her head hit the pillow and she found it impossible to keep herself from slipping into slumber, even despite the fact that she knew the doctor would be in to see her very shortly. It didn't matter, all she wanted to do was sleep. Her breathing started to slow, perhaps slow down too much as she drifted off.

"Ms. Humphrey, I'm Dr. Johnstone," a young female voice stated upon entry of the room. She repeated herself a few more times before walking over to Alice and trying to shake her slightly to wake her up. Nothing. Dr. Johnstone quickly checked Alice's vital signs, and became immediately alarmed.

"Could I get some help in here! Now! We've got a case of acute alcohol intoxication!"

~

Once Alice finally awakened, she noticed that she now had a tube placed in her throat and an IV in her arm. She started to cough, choking on the plastic tube attached to the respirator helping her to continue to breathe. She began to panic, unsure of exactly what was going on. Her head was much clearer now, which only added to her intense anxiety. "She's awake," Alice heard someone say before the tube was detached and removed her from throat. She took a deep breath in, now able to do so on her own.

"Try not to move too much, we don't want that IV coming out. Just lie down in relax. You have some people waiting to see you, would you like me to ask one of them to come in?" a nurse spoke up, partially informing Alice of what was going on, she was still confused, and couldn't remember the events that had lead to her ending up in the hospital.

"Um... sure," she replied, groggily.

It seemed like now that Jack was able to think clearly she could as well. She felt the familiar butterflies that went through her whenever Jack held her hand. She was taking all of this as a good sign. Now that Jack was better they might have a better chance at getting Bella back.

The last thing that Jack said made her think a bit. She knew her feelings for Jack  but she was never all too sure on how he felt. It was her self-esteem issues she had. She would never assume how anyone felt. "Well I don't know... Skylar started to feel a bit nervous as she spoke. She always assumed the worse when it came to stuff like this. "All I know is that I love you. You really had me worried there." Skylar knelt down so she could look into his face.

Cailen$Legosi

Together Cailen and Skylar were able to get Jack into the ER and off into the hands of doctors who would take care of him. Cailen couldn’t say anything to Skylar’s response. He didn’t like sitting on the secret of Jack potentially being the father of Bella’s baby. If it was true, then he hoped Jack would tell Skylar. He would have to say something sooner or later because there was no hiding it after awhile. Cailen knew what it was like not to be told something so important to a relationship. Even though Alice did tell him about Adam, it was a little too late. Now Adam wants Alice and for all he knows, Adam might already have her. Maybe if he found out sooner than he could have done something, or prevented something. He looked over at Skylar. So innocent. Of everyone today, she is the one who hasn’t done anything wrong. Somehow she has been the only one who managed to stay out of trouble. Even Alice, who he thought was just as saint-like as Skylar managed to cause some trouble. Speaking of Alice, where is she? He hasn’t seen her since he let her come in here on her own. Maybe she is still in a room. Cailen tried to keep his thoughts positive, hoping that she was alright.

As he was sitting there trying not to think of unpleasant things, Alice arrived. Her statement shocked him. Drunk? How? When? Where? All these questions ran through his mind as he tried to think of where exactly she went. Cailen looked up at her to see what was going on. She looked horrible. Drunk and sick. He couldn’t say anything; he was just too stunned to think of what to say. Alice hardly ever drank, now she was saying she was drunk. Where did she even get the alcohol? As his mind was trying to wrap itself around this new development, Skylar made the initiative to go over and talk to her. All he could do was stare and listen. Skylar was such a kind and forgiving person, Cailen admired that. Just then a nurse came out and said Jack could have visitors, one at a time. He wached as Skylar dashed away to be with Jack. I hope my conclusions aren’t correct. He didn’t want to see her heart get broken. She doesn’t deserve it.

Cailen then looked over to Alice. He wanted to say something to her, but he didn’t know what to say. He was looking at what looked like the same girl he’s known for a long time, but she isn’t the same. It was like he didn’t even know her anymore. She used to be as innocent as Skylar, but now she is lying and getting drunk. It was like she was a totally different person. He missed the old Alice and hoped that all of this was just because of what has happened today. He was about to say something to her when another nurse came over and told Alice a room was ready for her. I didn’t know she was waiting to see a doctor. By the look on her face it seemed like it was against her will. He tried to give her a comforting smile, but it didn’t turn out the way he saw in his head. Now he was just left in the waiting room with Adam. He was being quiet, so Cailen sneaked a glance over his direction. Maybe he should get an ice pack or something, he thought seeing Adam’s swollen face. Now that all the commotion was winding down, Cailen could feel his head throbbing. The earlier fight and all of the stress from the day were finally taking its toll. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity for some news on either Jack or Alice, a nurse came out and said one of them could go see Alice. Not giving Adam a chance to say anything, Cailen sprang up and followed the nurse to the room. Alice was lying down with some tubes sticking out of her arms. “What happened? Are you ok?” he asked as he went over next to her. Of course she wasn’t ok if she is sitting here in a hospital room, but that was all he could think to say to her.

What happened? Are you ok?

Alice fought the urge to start laughing at Cailen's question. Of course she wasn't okay, she was lying in a hospital bed with an IV sticking out of her arm. On top of everything, she couldn't remember what had taken place. The last thing she could recall was leaving the hospital in order to attempt going to see Harrison. She couldn't believe what was happening, everything seemed like it was falling apart. She reached out for Cailen's hand, wanting desperately to hold onto something familiar.

"I... I don't know what's happening to me," Alice admitted. She wanted to be able to explain the situation more, but despite how hard she searched her brain for the answers, she had nothing. A nurse had explained to her that she had suffered from something called "acute alcohol intoxication" and that she was lucky she had arrived at the hospital. If she had gone home instead, she might not have survived. "I don't know why I was drinking... there's just too much. Too much of everything."

Alice held on tight to Cailen's hand, probably causing some discomfort to him, unintentionally. Her mind started racing once again. Here she was, seeking comfort from Cailen - who was still technically her boyfriend, but she still felt something for Adam. She wondered if she should just tell Cailen right now that things weren't going to work, or if she should wait it out to see what happens. Leaning towards the second, she decided that she didn't want to cause anymore chaos for that day.

"I'm sorry, for everything," Alice spoke, figuring that a large blanket apology would be better than apologizing for each individual thing that she wanted to say sorry for. But are you sorry about your feelings for Adam? Shut up. It doesn't matter. Let me just have this... this moment, will you? Alice tried to quiet the voice in her head, all to no avail. You're not being fair! You can't have them both! I never said I wanted them both. Well, you're certainly acting as if you do. Make up your mind. Decide. Shut up! Let me figure it out. Just... just shut up and give me some peace!

Alice looked up at Cailen and could see in his eyes that he was looking for more of an explanation than a simple, "I don't know what happened, I'm sorry." She wasn't sure what to tell him. As if somehow sensing that she wanted a distraction, Dr. Johnstone came into the room, a somber look upon her face. Alice couldn't imagine how anything the woman had to say would make things worse than they already were, but she would soon be mistaken. Dr. Johnstone asked politely for Cailen to leave the room so that she could deliver some news to Alice, but she was insistent on him staying, she did not want to let go of his comforting hand.

"Well, it's your choice, but I have the results of the test you asked me to run. I'm not sure if you'll remember, you were in and out for a while before we stabilized you," Dr. Johnstone explained. Alice wasn't sure what she could have asked the doctor to test her for until mere seconds before the words left her mouth. Alice wanted her to stop, she didn't want to find out the results of that test with Cailen standing right there with her. "I'm sorry, but you've tested positive for HIV."

With that, Alice felt her entire world shatter into a million irreparable pieces. Cailen would demand an explanation, of course he could probably deduct for himself where she had contracted it from. He and Adam hadn't managed to kill each other in their earlier fight, but Alice wasn't too sure that the same could be said if Cailen decided to take out his feelings on this current tidbit of news on Adam's face again.

"Please... please don't hate me...." Alice whispered, just waiting for Cailen to break up with her right then and there for putting his life at risk with the mistake she had made.

"...All I know is that I love you..."

He felt his heart jump into his throat. He wanted to cry; his lips formed into a smile and he sat up to meet her gaze as she knelt down. He grabbed her chin gently and pressed his lips against hers. His dark eyes shut, feeling her perfect lips against his. 'Bella's still carrying your baby, you know.' Mister Voice-In-His-Head piped up suddenly, making him break the kiss. 'Who's heart are you going to break, Jack? Who are you going to-' 'No one is going to break any hearts... not yet... not now...' 'You already told your Baby Mama the big four letter word... did you even mean it? Or are you really an evil b*****d?' Jack looked deep into Skylar's blue eyes and caressed her cheek. At that moment, all he wanted was Skylar.

Skylar didn't do anything wrong; Skylar didn't have something to hold over his head; Skylar was an Angel. If he chose Skylar, he would regret leaving Bella because of the baby. If he chose Bella, he would regret breaking Skylar's heart. He wanted both, he wanted to make both of them happy. He wanted to take care of his child, be a good father, and still be happy with Skylar. But for some reason, he doubted Skylar would ever want to be with him when she found out. He knew she was going to, but when he couldn't figure out.

Again, Jack pressed his lips against hers. He parted the kiss with a gentle whisper, "Never forget: I love you." He then decided it was time to check-out. He looked down at the IV, realizing there really wasn't anything going into it anymore. They had forgotten to take it out, he thought. So he just did it himself, "Look away." The needle came out easily and he pressed down on the would with his blanket. It barely bled. He got out of bed quickly, thankful he was still wearing clothes.

"Let's get out of here." He held out his hand to Skylar, like they were at a ball and he was asking her to dance.

User ImageSkylar wasn’t sure if Jack would actually respond with an answer of his own. She was content on just letting him know how she felt. She was worried about him with what happened earlier. He had scared her when he started to ramble after hitting his head. She still couldn’t help but wonder what he had been talking about. She was debating about bringing it up but wasn’t sure if she should. Maybe it all had just been the fact that he hit his head. He probably didn’t even remember it. The last thing she wanted to do was worry him.

When Jack put his lips to hers, Skylar instantly returned the kiss. At that moment it seemed like nothing else in the world mattered. She wished everything could be this simple. She knew there were a lot of other things that were going on, much bigger things, but at this moment she didn’t care. She only cared about Jack. When the kiss broke she looked at him wondering what was going on in his head. Seeing him look back at her gave her chills and to feel his hand caressing her cheek was amazing to her.

After another kiss, Skylar heard Jack give his answer to how he felt about her. ”Never forget: I love you.” Hearing those words come from Jack just left her speechless. She had never assumed that Jack didn’t love her but she never really assumed that he did. She couldn’t remember if he had said these words to her a time before and it didn’t matter if he had. What mattered was that he was saying them right now. Skylar felt a little guilty about her small crush she had for Cailen. How could she even think about liking another guy when Jack was so amazing himself.

She heard Jack’s warning just in time to do what he asked. Sky wasn’t the biggest fan of needles. They gave her the creeps. She was grateful for the warning he had given her. A part of her wanted to protest against Jack getting up and out of the bed and say that he should rest some more but another part of her thought he would be just fine. The bleeding from his head was stopped thanks to the bandages and he seemed to be perfectly fine. The only thing she would make sure of was to keep an eye on him so he would pass out again.

Skylar smiled at him before taking his hand. Even just the simple act of holding Jack’s hand made it seem like all her problems were going away. Her thoughts about telling Jack what was wrong with her completely left her mind. She would have time to tell him but for the moment it wasn’t important. If what had been spoken of earlier was true, Skylar still had a few months before she would have to worry about it. ”Are you sure you’re alright enough to leave?”
