Rose had a very hard time keeping a straight face. The Suspicious Look TM he was giving her was going to send her in a fit of giggles if he didn't cut it out.
"What?" she asked staring back at him levelly, "What did you think I meant?"

At that moment all of Rose's self control evaporated and she began giggling uncontrollably.
"My god John, you make it sound like I killed someone..." she said between her laughs.

He shrugged "I guess you have a point". He started to toss more food in his mouth and called for Amy again.

"So John, do you have a girlfriend?" she asked thought it was more of a tease, "Considering you asked Amy to spend the night..."
She waggled her eyebrows at him in the same manner she'd seen Jack Harkness do a million times before.

John turned to look at her with a shocked expression. He gulped all his food down at once. "OF COURSE NOT!!! I would never do that!" he said now feeling accused of having intentions of doing things to Amy.

Oh dear Doctor... you've forgotten to choose your words carefully, Rose thought with a wicked spark of delight.
"Well there's no reason to be mean about it, what's wrong with Amy?" she asked innocently enough, "Oh I get it... you have a boyfriend."

She bit back a laugh as she saw him sulk like a child. Rose then stood up and hugged him like she used to do.
"I'm just teasing John, I don't mean anything by it," she said lightly ruffling his hair, "I know you're a gentleman."

John hugged her back like a little child. "Everyone picks on me" he said as he did a fake cry in her shoulder.

"Well... it's just so much fun," she chuckled and lightly ran her fingers through his hair... the action made her heart tremble but she squashed it, "I promise not to pick on you anymore. Well, not TOO much anyway."

He heard her heatbeat while his face was in her shoulder. He smiled to himself when he heard it pick up. Now he knew how to get revenge on her. John looked at Rose and took her in his arms. "And I will make sure no man ever has you" this was his attempt at being romantic.

Rose was caught unprepared as John grabbed hold of her.
"Wait, what?" she squeaked, not sure if he was babbling or she'd simply misheard. A light blush was creeping into her cheeks.
