1 pinch of powdered horn of a Bicorn that has been "lunar extracted" (which presumably means that, like the fluxweed, its collection time coincided with certain lunar conditions)
Filings and rasplings of Salpeter, Mercury and Mars ("filings of Mars" may mean iron filings, as the symbol for the planet Mars, ♂, is also used to signify the element of iron)
Shredded dried skin of a Boomslang
Extract of The-Transfigured-Being-To-Be (which means a piece of the person one wants to change into, typically hair)

The Polyjuice potion is considered a dangerous potion and takes a month to brew properly. Also, once the drinker drinks the potion and transforms, the person only has an hour to get their information before they are detected, unless they have some extra polyjuice potion left over and take it before their time is up.

Here you are. The polyjuice potion was fascinating to research!
Polyjuice Potion is a very complicated potion that allows the drinker to assume the form of someone else. While it can account for both age and gender, Polyjuice Potion cannot be used for a human to take an animal form or for a half-breed to assume human form. A piece of the person who is to be imitated — usually hair — is needed for the transformation. Before this final ingredient is added, Polyjuice looks like thick, dark mud that bubbles slowly. When the piece of the person to be imitated is added, however, the potion changes colour; it seems to react according to the nature of the person to be imitated, once even described as the 'essence' of the person. Good-hearted people result in more attractive colours and tastes, while mean people cause the opposite effect.
The effects of a single dose last for an hour, however the larger the dose the longer the effects last. If a person dies while under Polyjuice Potion, then they will retain the form of whoever they have transformed into, rather than reverting back to their original shape.
Polyjuice can be used by a person to transform into someone of the opposite gender. It appears to adapt to account for the age of the person being turned into, as well as any injuries they have acquired. In addition, congenital conditions the person being turned into has will apparently be replicated (such as the need to wear spectacles).

Hello Professor Akahana. I'm Spork and this is my first day of classes. I apologize for my late arrival, but my parents wanted to keep me home for a while longer.

Aludra Yvette... "It's my pleasure." Aludra smiled as she kindled a tiny fire underneath the cauldron and waited for it to heat. "While we're waiting for it to heat, you can take a look my notes:"
STEP ONE: Kindle a small fire beneath your cauldron and add water to it. Not too large of a fire, mind you. We don't need to gut the dungeon.
STEP TWO: Wait a few minutes for the water to heat up and then add 4 horned slugs. Allow them to stew until they're nice and soupy. While you're stewing your slugs, you should crush two snakes fangs in preparation for step 3.
STEP THREE: Add two crushed snakes fangs and three dried nettles to the mix and allow it to come to a boil.
STEP FOUR: Stir 24 times with a counterclockwise stir every 3 stirs.
STEP FIVE: Take it off the fire and allow it to sit for a minute, and then add 3 porcupine quills.
"Ill start crushing the fangs, you just add the slugs when the water is hot." Aludra took the flat end of a perry knife and began crushing the snake fangs into a fine powder. ...6th Year Slytherin

She started prepping everything and then noticed that there was an owl on her desk and took the letter from it and read it. She gasped when she finished it.* "Professor may i just recieved news of something that just happend in my family." she said trying not to show the tears that wanted to spill over in her voice

After taking the potion, the user has but an hour to remain as that body, or they can continually brew more and keep reserves of it to remain in that form. The potion cannot be used on animals, or half human beings. The results leave a nasty reaction.
