use lots of hair gel or vax or whatever and you can get osme nasty hair looks whit the long hair

I think it depends on the artist and how well they portray either style.
I personally like short hair over long. Say a little longer then shoulder length, or higher. Short hair you can do more with and it gives the catgirl a personality depending on how you style it. I always liked the wild unruley look of short hair. You can also make them look sassy and sexy with short hair too.
I will normally like long hair if it's up in a braid or pony tail. If it's all loose and straight down her back it takes away the whole 'catgirl' aura. To me it's a girl that someone drew cat ears on. Now if it were a girl with long platnum blonde hair and a nice big bushy perssian tail and white ears I'd say it looks nice. But the hair must match the personality of the ears and tail of the cat.
That again is the reason why I like short hair more. You can easily match the hair with cat personality. Long hair is a bit more dificult to do that with, and make it look right.

I personally think that short hair is MUCH better. Like NekoZero said, it allows for much more personality to be expressed in the character design.

i think if the hair is short, it woulld have to have a cute, upbeat personality, but if it were long a tough or shy attitude, so both hair lenghts and great, it just depends on the personality.

Lol well everyone already tooh what I ws gonna say. But I'm partial to long hair heart ... because I like to play in it sweatdrop . But short hair works for some girls. It depends on stlye and the look your going for.
