Erkamina noticed that the scent seemed to almost disappear as they continued forward, her head clearing quickly there after. She rubbed her temples with the tips of her fingers to assist in the process of clearing her mind a bit more of that scent. It had been so intoxicating that if she had not moved so quickly around those kunai she was half convinced she would have fallen prey to its allure. She shook her head again, she would not allow herself to think of how she could have failed. She looked around and noticed that, like the vines before, the kunai were gone from the area. She allowed a soft sigh to escape, only to notice that she felt like something 'else' was here, watching them from the trees. She took another few steps forward and noticed what looked like the main area of the base, and six somethings in the tree line, from the shadows that they cast on the ground. As she looked closer she noticed that they appeared to be dummies, similar to the ones used in the Academy for training in Taijutsu, with 'x's over their eyes and each seemed to be pointed a different direction but all seemed to be protecting something beyond this area. She stopped for a second and looked at each one in turn, trying to figure out what this trap would be. Vines, kunai, each were relatively simple to dodge. This last trap in the line had to be the most difficult, right? That would only make sense and this exam made less sense with each passing second. Perhaps if they would have hit or effected her the test would be that much harder to complete but she had gotten lucky and her perceptiveness and speed had saved the group's collective a** thus far. But luck wasn't everything, she already knew this, but she had to be lucky again, right. She thought about luck and chance very rarely on a normal basis but this was not a normal day. This test seemed to be based on both skill and luck which meant that eventually her luck would run out and one of the traps would effect her. But she didn't dwell on this thought for long before taking a courageous stride towards the center of the area that was protected by the dummies, only to see movement from them. One of them, the one directly in front of her, seemed to toss a net of sorts at her. It was a rather large net which meant if she had any chance of dodging it she had to run out of its path. With the dog still in tow that meant she had to also pull the dog out of the way too. Which meant in turn that she'd have to react twice as fast as she currently had to get the dog out of the way of the net. After all, they had been instructed to capture the dog and she wasn't about to let the thing be killed now. She ran quickly, or as quickly as she could, only to trip over the dog's leash as it ran ahead of her, ending up with the net around her. "What the..." She said as she looked at the net, a sudden sense of dread filling her...

As she looked at the net her mind seemed to go elsewhere, someplace foreign from this exam and yet familiar all the same. Erkamina felt confused as the sound of laughter seemed to fill the air. She felt her eyes close, only to see Yua being the one laughing, wearing a Chuunin vest in the 'vision'. She looked at Erkamina and continued her laughter, Erkamina was stripped of her headband and the headband was burnt to a crisp next to her. The laughter seemed to stab at her heart, her own teammate was treating her as everyone in the village seemed to treat her father. The sound was followed by a pointing of a finger and more sound, this time distorted. It wasn't Yua's voice, it was another. The vision of Yua in her 'vest' seemed to fade, only to be replaced by the man that was her father facing her-tied up in ninja-rope, wounds covering his body, only barely alive. Well, alive enough to speak.
"You fool..." His voice came, strong yet weak at the same time, echoing like the laughter had "you think you can save me when you can't save yourself... You are nothing but a fool. I am ashamed..." His voice faded into echoing blubbers of pain and anguish as something else, or rather someone else, proceeded to crudely kill him slowly. She felt herself curl into a ball and will this all to stop, only to have the 'someone' come closer to her, a cruel look his face. "What is it that you want from me..." She said as she put her hands over her face to protect herself from the man, only to have him pull out a knife, her own knife- or rather her father's. "How'd you..." She looked down to her pockets and noticed that they had been cleaned out, her body was tied so she couldn't attack him. "Ninja rope... How the hell did I..." The knife came closer, the crimson of blood shining on its blade. This was it, her own worst nightmare. She closed her eyes again and thought about the end. Everything seemed to slow down into a frame-by-frame time-line, her own greatest failure was being tortuously slow, so much so that it wouldn't be real. But as she thought about it she shook her head, her father- if he was still alive- was no where near the Sound from her own guesses. And Yua was not yet a Chuunin, seeing as the exam wasn't over yet. As she forced herself to think logically the visions faded to reveal that net was covering her body with its presence. She looked at it and took out that knife that had been in the possession of the enemy in the vision and proceeded to try to hack her way out of the net. The net seemed to be too thick for the knife to cut through and the visions were coming back, blood and cackling seemed to replay in her mind- the logic faded away into oblivion. A scream came from her as the torture resumed, hoping it would snap her team out of their self-induced silence.

Notwen was really thinking of going back and helping Yuki, but he remembered overhearing the two leaf shinobi calling him an arrogant jerk and whatnot.
So much for being a team, he sighed. Shaking his head he began to walk away. "Look, you guys have been caught in these illusions. I don't know how potent they are, but i'm sure that you guys should be mentally exhausted. If you want to play macho and plow on regardless, it is your loss." Without another word Notwen continued onwards to the next section of the exam, the sentries. He stopped as Hisaki suddenly cut him off.

As Fuyu dashed as quickly as he could through the vines, he tried to keep an eye out for every one which made a movement towards him. There were just so many though. There was no-way this limited sight like images in his head could keep up with all the vines moving in such a manor in which they were. It was as if they were moving in union towards him and antisipating his movements. It was then he felt something strike him in the gut. He fell backwards and landed on his back. His sat up quickly and looked, there was no cuts or wounds or anything. Even though he didn't see any wounds, his limbs started to become heavy. He tried to stand up but as he was almost at a full stand his legs gave out and he fell forward, and with his arms also not responding to his will, nothing broke his fall. He layed there, the only thing he could do was twitch, but that soon stopped as his whole body became paralyzed. He rolled his eyes up to the direction of where his team-mate had made it across to. As he looked, slowly the vines seemed to creep away and re-turn to their tree's, the thorns shrinking into the vines and thusly disappearing as well. He looked over and saw Aya, and a shadow behind her. As he looked, the shadow started to turn into a shape, which thusly started to fade from shadow and turn into a creature. But it was none that he'd ever seen before. It was of dark grey skin and scales, over twice the size of Aya herself, meaning over twice his size as well. The eyes were of a crimson darker then the freshest blood spilt of anyone he'd ever seen. Instead of hands, this monstrosity had large sickle like blades that would easily impale half a dozen men in one go. He watched as this beast raised its giant talon arm and grinned it's great white shark toothed grin at Fuyu. The words that Aya spoke in reality "Fuyu just wait a mintue I'll try and get you, Jin you just get ready to jump across ok, once I've moved Fuyu" was only twisted into the phrase " Fuyu, just wait a minute. I'm comming to get you after her...." He tried to speak but wasn't able to. He was only able to grunt as he watched the giant talon come behind her, then rush threw her body like a hot knife threw butter. Her eyes turned a gastly white and he could see the crimson river that poured from her abdomin where the blade was pertruding from. His eyes widened as he could faintly hear something... " Fuyu...." It was Aya's voice as he saw her looking into his eyes as blood was slowly dripping from the corner from her mouth. It was that moment that the creature quickly jolsted his talon up an ripped her into two pieces. He tried to yell, but again nothing happened. The creature slowly walked over to him and then knelt down beside him. Back in reality, Aya was now saying " Ok Fuyu if, you can hear me this shouldn't hurt, I am not really sure, I've never tried this" This was twisted in his mind to, " Ok Fuyu if, you can hear me this will hurt, I am really sure, I've tried this many, many times." The large talons for arms then started to shift shape, then the figure itself did the same. This new image scared him even more. It was Aya, kneeling beside him with a long blade in hand with very jagged edge on it that looked like it was suppost to tear as it exited a body. He looked over where he thought he'd seen Aya just slaughtered, yet he body was still there, crimson now soaking the ground like a heavy rain had just been there. He moved his eyes back to the Aya that was beside him and noticed she had that same jagged tooth grin the creature that killer her did. She now had the blade raised ever him. She grinned again and drove the blade into his upper leg, then out as it ripped chunkes of skin out. He cried out in his mind as pain poured through his body as he fought to move his body away from this false Aya. she did this again to the other leg and several times to his gut before some how the blade just vanished. He looked around and where he'd see chunks of his flesh torn away were healing themselves. When he looked over to Aya, her face had returned to normal. He tried to shuffle away but still couldn't yet his head could move. He gave it a violent shake and when he focused on everything around him. EVERYTHING was back to normal except that he was now across the vines with Aya still there. He sat up and moved away from her quickly not knowing what was going on. He looked at his leg and saw bugs eating at something. He brushed them off in a hurry and looked. He'd been cut. He looked over at Aya, then the vines. He was really shooken up but then something made him come back to his sences. " FUYU!!! get up! you were just poisoned by that trap... I tried to get a hold of you but couldn't. Luckly your team-mate's bugs was able to get the venom out before it spread too far." Fuyu shook his head again and looked at Aya, blinking heavily. He started to stutter but then slowly got to a stand. " I... I don't know what just happened... but thanks.... when we get out of here... those damned vines need to be burned.... With that, Fuyu took a beep breath and looked at Aya and nodded. I think I'm ready to continue. With that, they continued to move on to the target. One thing was amiss though, Where was Jin?

Hisaki jumped ahead, and cut off the Uchiha from his target direction. "Listen, I think I know what the problem with our group dynamics is. From what I've seen since the beginning of the exam, I think it's our backgrounds." Hisaki paused, then held out a finger, "You don't have to answer, but I'm going to ask you a question. If you were with your regular team, and you were in Yuki's position, under the circumstances of a short window of time, would your team stop for you, or would they see the mission to completion without aiding you, and hope that you snap out of it and catch up? My guess... is B. It's not like it's the wrong thing to do; it's very effective in alot of circumstances. It's just not what we do in Konoha." "At the same time, if a member is left behind, and needs medical treatment immediately, we wouldn't allow one member to play lone wolf and run ahead without the medic. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure you're more than capable of completing the next step alone, but we Leaf Ninja... we always consider the worst possible scenario. What if you get in there, and the last trap is deadly? What if it's tougher to heal Yuki than it looks? What if you're caught, and we aren't able to help until it's too late? I'll tell you what it means: You're dead." Hisaki looked past Notwen, at Yuki, then closed his eyes as he got out of the ninja's way. He then began to walk back to his fallen comrade, talking to Notwen over his shoulder, "If you're gonna play lone wolf again, go ahead. I'm not going to get in the way of how Suna does things. For all I know, concentrating on the goal and picking up your teammates later might be better in the long run. That's why I offered to let you go on in the first place. Just don't act like we're the ones throwing ourselves into the heat recklessly, got it?" While Aya lead the way to the target, Fuyu was still kind of bugging about what just happened to him. Those images where the worst things that have ever happened to him and he knew that it would be a seriously long time until those images would leave his mind. Everything seemed so right until that "event" While he looked at everything, all he could now see was the darker side of things. Like looking at the tree's, they are cover for those who wish to hunt and kill, weapons of those who master the earth, and obsticals in which could get someone killed. Nothing was the same any more. He'd been almost drivin' batty, but he kept it all in his mind and Fujin was making sure that nothing would trigger any break in his sanity. While they both walked on to their destination, he didn't even notice that Jin had come back let alone already destroyed the target like he'd said. Fuyu's imagination was running while, looking for traps so he wouldn't have to go threw what just happened to him. A little while later, they got close to the base but then a kuni flew passed them, and out of pure adrenaline, Fuyu jumped straight up and into a tree. He looked arond and knew that he was in a trap with his team. But it was time to get threw. It seemed like there was more dodging involved so he pushed off the tree and went straight for the target area on the other side of the trap, and closer to thier destination. Notwen listened to the Hyuuga rant on about 'Team Dynamic', and ask about what his team would do in a similar situation. There he stopped. His primary goal was to try to help Yuki, but hearing the sly comments coming from the hidden leaf duo changed that. What did they know about Notwen to call him arrogant?
The long-haired blonde stood there listening to the Hyuuga's lecture. His points made a lot of sence, but then again didn't he see Notwen trying to help Yuki before? Hisaki turned and headed back to Yuki's body, but Notwen cut him off, staring at the Hyuuga with a grim three-tomoed sharingan.
"Let me tell you a few things about myself, Hisaki. The only team mate i've ever worked with is my sensei, who is no longer living. Throughout all of our missions he had never left me alone, and always watched my back, even on the day he died." The Uchiha stopped to collect his thoughts. "My intentions so far were to get through the traps to make a safe path for you guys to cross safely. Heck, i even tried to help Yuki back at the vines, but i guess i was being too 'arrogant' for you to see that. Even now, i was going to help him, despite the fact that he probed my memory earlier." Notwen began walking back towards the mind-altering tag area, glancing back at Hisaki with his regular hazel-hued eyes. "You are the second person i've come across in these exams that misread my intentions."

Once Aya was sure Fuyu had gotten passed the kunai, Aya made her way closer to the heart of the encampment, getting pass the kunai, had put them right near, it, but as she looked around Aya spotted Sentries dummies or doll maybe puppets, around the area, if they were dummies of dolls, that would mean they had a set movement, however if they were puppets, that meant there would be a puppeteer somewhere near by watching, Aya did a quick search to cheek the area, to see if anyone was watching her. As she searched she notice a ripped up net near one of the dummies, it looked like that was where Jin had been slowed down, question now was, did Jin break that or was he taken hostage, if he did break it that would be awesome on him, if not and he was now captured it was something to worry about. Aya got into a race starting pose, and then moved onto the balls of her feet. before looking at the dummies, and then notice a small gap, she may be able to slip further into the base using, waiting for the gap to open again Aya readied herself for the moment of her dash. Their it was, the moment she had been waiting for, she pushed off taking off from where she was, Aya crossed to where the Sentries were, and then disappear again, using the 'Flash Step' skill she had learned in the academy, Aya was in now, all she had to do was wait for Fuyu to make his move. ||OOC|| Side Step with Flash Step boost. When he pulled the cigarette back, there was a darkened, burnt area on the tag that distorted the kanji on the tag, and crumpled the edges. Hisaki grabbed the tag and pulled. It came off with a light pull, as if it were stuck on with only regular tape now. Hisaki casually said, "Looks like fire will get these things off." Hisaki lit his finger on fire, and tapped each of the stuck tags for just a moment, then one by one, ripped them off effortlessly. Any moment now, Yuki should be coming-to. 125 lines solo

Notwen stared down at Yuki's stirring frame. He couildn't believe the bull that Hisaki was spouting, and it made him even angrier that the Hyuuga still didn't understand what Notwen was getting at.
"Look, Hisaki. You and Yuki were both ensnared in a genjutsu, this being Yuki's second time. You should be mentally worn out by the effects, and it's a wonder how you are even able to keep going. I haven't been caught yet, and hopefully i can get past the sentries without a problem. Don't you see that if you keep pressing forward the way you are without resting will probably increase your chances of falling for other traps?" Notwen ran up a nearby tree and sat on a lower bough, waiting for Yuki to regain consciousness. If Hisaki didn't want to rest before continuing, that was his problem.

It was the perfect moment in his life. Yuki had come home from a mission as an ANBU and would sit down with his father, Masaki, at the table. Hisaki and Kasei were there too! Masaki and Kasei would chit-chat about politics, economy, and other things, or they would try until Kasei would make a small joke and would spark an argument between them. Hisaki and Yuki would also be talking about all the cool mission they went on, as Hisaki was a Jonin and would teach other little genins on how to be successful in the Shinobi world. Then Yuki's mother and Hisaki's mother would come sweeping into the dining room with hundreds of plates of delicious food and they would all eat until they could not gorge themselves on anything else.
That was until the stench of rotting vegetation attacked his nose as he wrinkled it. He was on the ground, in the middle of swampland. Yuki's head ached slightly as he could hear Hisaki and Notwen talking. They were both arguing about teamwork and how their countries differed in priorities. "M-my father," Yuki stuttered as he pushed himself up into a sitting position, "He always told me that no matter the circumstance, pure willpower can be enough motivation to get through any obstacle. Your motivation could be to become a Chuunin to get stronger, my motivation to get through this is to not let my teammates down."
Yuki now stood, a bit wobbly from the Genjutsu damage that was just lifted from his mind. He breathed in and out deeply before standing tall, "I've had enough rest, lets get going." The Yamanaka said, trying to stop the bad synergy the team had and to continue forwards, they only had two obstacles left!

"Nope. I feel just fine to be honest. Thanks for asking." Hisaki hoped to end the conversation on that note, he was getting tired of arguing over team dynamics. Simply put, it wasn't the time or place. Over dinner would be better... Less explosions, more logic.
Hisaki heard Yuki speak from the ground and say, "M-my father. He always told me that no matter the circumstance, pure willpower can be enough motivation to get through any obstacle. Do you need a moment before we go Yuki?" Hisaki got his answer after Yuki took a few deep breaths. They were ready to move on.
Hisaki looked into the center of the village, and pointed to the small cement building beyond the huts and tents, "There's our next checkpoint. If we get to the entrance on the top, we're free to take on the target. Remember, there are sentries that shoot nets. Once you get passed the sentries, do not enter until we can regroup. We need to take him on at the same time to ensure our success."
Hisaki casually glanced to check on the length of his cigarette, and saw that it was near the bottom again, mostly because of the way he smushed it into the seal tag earlier, "Hold up, gotta get a butt before I run in there, y'know?" Hisaki fumbled around in his pocket momentarily, and withdrew one of his few remaining cigarettes. Hisaki put the cigarette in his mouth with one hand, and lit a finger on fire with the other. He then cupped his hands together, and tried to get the slender stick of tobacco to light. Meanwhile, through gritted teeth, he said, "You guysh go on ahead. I'll catsh up in a shec."

Notwen glanced down at the leaf shinobi from his vantage point on the lower bough, hearing everything that was said.
Motivation.... he thought, getting up slowly in preparation to go. Notwen didn't really have a motivation he could think of.
Do not dwell on this subject, Notwen. This is not the time, or place to get sidetracked. The long-haired blonde looked around for the speaker, but remembered it was the voice of Drow Sant' Elmo. He nodded, descending to the ground near the base of the tree just in time to see Hisaki point towards a small cement building. So that's our target, and the sentries are out there somewhere.
The Hyuuga began trying to light another cigarette using the one he had used to remove the tags from Yuki, but was having some trouble lighting it, so he told them to go off ahead of him. Notwen was going to say something about it but changed his mind. Instead he walked toward the village.
"Okay Yuki, you heard the man." Jumping back up to the lower boughs, Notwen made his way to the small village, stopping a few feet beyond the tree fringe. He put up his hand quickly, signalling Yuki to stop once he was there. Activating his thermal scan, the long-haired blonde saw that there were six oddly colored blips on the radar. Looking in the direction of the closest blip, he saw a combat dummy with X's over their eyes. They were equipped with oddly-colored nets weighed down with rocks at odd intervals. "I'll go first. If anything happens to me, get Hisaki."
Notwen slid down the tree trunk to the floor along the sentry's blind side. Once on the ground, Notwen searched around for a convincing critter to transform into. It was imperative that he learned more things to transform into due to his encounter with the masked kid from the maze. Finding a beetle of sorts crawling near his foot, Notwen picked it up and examined it with his sharingan. Memorizing the structure of the legs and exoskeleton, the long-haired blonde released it and formed the hand seals for the transformation jutsu. Upon completion, his body began to shrink and another pair of arms sprouted from his ribcage. In the end, he was looking just like the beetle. I hope this works.
