"Don't worry..I said I'll keep a close eye on her didn't I" he said with a half grin half concerned look. He wanted to be taken for as serious. He wasn't one to let down on his promises, despite how few he ever tried to make.
"Well of course you do. You two are almost exactly alike...you both a likely to have more spats than anything else" he chuckled in amusement. The thought of seeing an ODST getting pissed off at a Spartan was always fun.
"No...he had a wife...But last I heard she couldn't keep fighting" he said with a more somber tone. Although he disliked ODSTs in most instances, they were still people, and even for them, a loss of family was hard

"I know you will, Dad." Nariko couldn't help the little smile on her face, of course he would.....she'd never seen a more amazing and strong love than they had. It was something she both admired and envied...but they were her parents, afterall.
She was about to argue when her face faultered, feeling a horrible wrench to her stomach. "Had....she was killed?" The vixen blurted out....feeling terrible for that comment about her prior...even if it was geared to Dutch no wonder he had taken it so poorly as an insult to his wife. "Are you sure? Or did she leave him?" Nariko pressed, needing to know....oh how she was starting to feel terrible.
"None the less, I don't know if I'm cut out for this mushy stuff...I think that's more Bryyo's department anyways. As much as it might break Mom's heart if I don't find someone like she had..." Tilting her head she chuckled, just thankful Koyuki hadn't brought up grandkits yet like she knew other mothers seemed to do.

He beamed once more, glad he had his daughter's trust and care, even if he could tell she thought their love was awkward...but she was a kid...He expected nothing less.
"No...she was a Marine. One day she stepped on a mine and lost her leg. It wasn't long before infection got to her...at least from what I heard" he said feeling a bit bad that he didn't care too much of the news. But how was he to know this would ultimately come down this ODST affecting his daughter's life?
"Aww..don't worry honey. There's a glove that fits every hand, and not everyone cares for mushy stuff either. There's someone out there for you, and he'll come along eventually" he said with a reassuring smile. He wasn't hoping for grandkids as much as his mate, but he would accept them if they did come along....although Elysia would never let up on the old jokes

Nodding her head slowly, a somber look came over the usual spitfire. How could she not have seen, of course something must have gone wrong if he was that sore about it. It was the first time in a long, long time that she really felt like an a**; even though she knew he wouldn't accept her pity or apology on this one. Folding her ears back as she looked to the ground, it wasn't until her father's comforting paw on her shoulder brought he back out of her thoughts.
"I suppose.....Just like you and Mom, huh?" She spoke softly, looking over to her mother still trying to busy herself respectfully. "I guess I just don't want to find out the possibility the one destined for me hates my guts." Nariko left it at that, taking a few steps and calling out to Koyuki. "Hey Mom! You can come back!"
Perking her ears, Koyuki turned and glided back with a ethereal grace till she was at her mate and daughter's side once more. "All done?"
Nariko nooded, "Yes, Thank you. Although I shouldn't keep you - I assume you might want to go see Bryyo about this adventure of yours. Besides, I got a lead on an uprising Spartan base; I might take the time to go search for it." She smiled, placing a paw on her hips.
Koyuki smiled and huddled up against Jerome's side, proud of her daughter for pursuing her dreams. "I wish you best of luck my Nariko, I hope you find what you're looking for!" None the less, she looked up to her mate, paws folding infront of her. "Shall we move onto our son?"

He watched her sorrow melt away from his touch and he nodded, noticing her comment, but having no time to say anything as she gave his mate permission to return to the little group.
"Yes we should go and see if we can find Bryyo. I want to see how my boy is doing." he said looking from his daughter to his mate, almost pleased to suddenly hear that Nariko is wanting to join other Spartans. "Well good luck to you. I would be proud if one day you can join us in making sure this island stays safe" he said with a beaming smile upon his muzzle
He wasted no time however when his love beckoned for him. "Yes, lets go, but first." he stopped to give Nariko a spartan hug followed by a kiss on her forehead." You be careful now. And watch yourself around Dutch okay?" he said in that typical parent tone

Smiling and nodding, she wasn't however prepared for the hug from her father a bristled for a quick second; but quickly wrapped her arms around his waist. Grinning broadly she buried her head into his neck for a moment, "I'd love nothing more." She admitted, nothing was more important than that pride he'd have when she succeeded....and she could fight by his side to protect loved ones like he did.
"I will Dad, keep your sharp eyes and wit about you, alright?" She shot back and grinned. "I'll try, that or i'll need help hiding a body." Chuckling in good humor, she turned to her mother and bent down to hug her tight. "Be careful Mom.....i'd lose it if I lost you."
"I'm not going anywhere, Nariko." Koyuki hugged her daughter tight, knowing it would be hard to be out of comfortable range of her children; but as they ventured out....she had to as well. "No matter what, we're already so proud of you." She whispered and parted, "Good luck. On everything." Stepping off to the woods, she waited a moment till Jerome would head out as well.
"Safe travels you two!" Nariko yelled as a final farewell, before heading back to her punching bag.

Turning back with his mate, he waved to Nariko as he departed. "Behave now" he called back, before picking his pace up to be beside Koyuki. "That went well" he said with a surprised look. He was shocked at how much his daughter had grown in such a short time.
"So where do we find Bryyo?" he wondered having not the slightest as to where that boy could possibly. Especially with that ninja he had been hanging around for the longest time

"It did....she talks about you so much." Koyuki smiled, heading down the path they originally came from. She knew her daughter was her father's for sure, she could just see that same look in their eyes....despite she having a sharp tongue. "I'm glad you both got to catch up."
Pausing for a moment on the trail, she tapped her chin slightly and looked around. "Last i've been hearing he hung around the shop a bit; at least...thats what I found our from the head of the house; Kay." She looked up and motioned to the west. "Its a bit that way, it should probably be the first spot we should check out?"

"Well that's sweet...I'm glad to know my kids like me..I always thought I wouldn't make a great father" he said with a smirk. He always thought it true, but back then he was younger and hadn't the slightest care. There were Covenant to be killed back then as well. Last thing he needed to worry about was kids
"Well, if he's there, then we might find him. If not, then we'll work on our game plan then?" he asked before hunkering down to the ground, prepping his muscles to do some forest running. Something they enjoyed to no end

Looks a little taken back by his comment, but smiles, figuring along the same lines since his job didn't allow families until he gave it up. "I knew you would make a wonderful father when you told me about what you'd name children, and the loving care to give them such honorable ones to boot. That look in your eyes told me everything." Koyuki admitted softly, knowing it was true since well....she wouldn't have said what she did after if she didn't.
"Yes, we shall. Who knows how long we'll have so we might as well be prepared anyways." Koyuki smiled and slid gently onto his back, holding on tight like she always did. "Although between the two of us it probably won't take very long."

He was flattered by his comment and where he not such a man, he would have let a tear shed, but he wasn't going to let that happen, so all he could do was smile.
He felt her slip onto his back once again, wasting no time to start running, jumping, and whatever he needed to to get around the forest floor without taking any scratches. "Well if we can't find him within the hour, then we will have to call it honey" he said as his ears flattened back to hear her response over the rushing air

"I know..." Koyuki spoke loudly so her mate could hear them as the wind ripped past them just like their surroundings. Lowering her torso to create more of an aerodynamic position for them both, she kept her ears and eyes out for the sound or view of their son.
She figured though if he didn't hear from the grapevine that she had left and was concerned enough he would track down Nariko since she stayed with her enough to know day in day out. Snaking her paws tighter around the armor to keep hold, she continued to look as they neared the shop.

He nodded as he continued his rigorous pacing that only a trained Spartan could keep moving at. It wasn't long before he jumped into a clearing, finding the bountiful landscape and the ever familiar shop ahead. "Well here we are" he said as he slowed his pace to a trot, quickly getting up to the shop and stopping, ducking down to let his love dismount.
"Do you think he'll be inside or outside?" he asked as he looked around the mass amounts of foxes chilling in the grass around the shop, just generally talking the day away. He snapped his head to the hill behind the shop, where his pod sat. "Maybe Elysia can find him?" he thought outloud

It had been such a long time since she went to the shop, sliding off her beloved's back and onto the grass as the hustle and bustle was immense for the time of day. She honestly didn't know where to start searching, and as she looked around she could feel an anxiety well up inside of her from the memories. Pushing her gaze skywards she noticed the window had been fixed, but the memories still clung on tight.
Snapping out of it, she smiled and moved a few steps forward. "There's only one way to find out!" She chuckled, if her son really had been trained of the ways of Ninjutsu, his hearing would be able to pick her out amongst the many voices. "BRYYYOOOOO!" She yelled quite loudly for such a little vixen, perking her ears and looking around as she ignored the strange looks she got from the fellow foxes of the area.

He watched as Koyuki walked forward to surprise him by shouting for her son. To his surprise, her voice carried quite well across the land. He waited as everyone was silent for a moment, but continued on their conversations as if nothing happened. He looked for any signs of movement that would indicate a rushing fox. 'I....don't see him." he spoke after several minutes of nothing. He looked over to Koyuki seeing if she was defeated in anyway.
"He might be to far away to hear us." he said as he looked up again, hoping he would see his little boy hurdling towards them, but was not surprised to see nothing had changed in the past few seconds
