He eyed the robot, and felt a paw on his shoulder. He tried to follow her gestures. but didn't make sense of them until she pointed down the hallway. He looked down the hall and made a fatal mistake as he stepped on a creaky board. Although it only let out a faint squeak, to him it might as well have been a plane crashing. Instinctively, he pushed Kay to the floor, just in time to have the tiny robot flying tackle him with sword at the ready.
Groaning a bit. Banes looked at the fox, glad that he had realized who was there and pulled back swiftly, bowing deeply in his apology. "And that Kay..is why he has managed to get around without being hurt" Banes said through another groan now picking himself up and apologizing to the bowing robot about waking him

It all happened so fast, almost as soon as his paw stepped on the floorboard and made a creak she felt her body falling back from the push and a white blur streak past to take Banes down to the ground as well. Hitting the floor wasn't a pleasant experience, and her head certainly did sting from impact; but snapping her body back up to sit she could see nothing serious happened as the little Medabot had already gotten off him and was apologizing.
Rubbing the back of her head which sure did smart, she glanced between the two from her floor position and tilted her head. "I...can see that now."

"Forgive me...I did not realize I would be intruding" the smaller fox said as he took another bow and headed to the open door, disappearing from their sight with a powerful jump
"How the frick does he do that?" he wondered to himself as got to his paws and knees, crawling over to Kay. "Oh well, are you ok?" he asked as he knew he threw her down pretty hard. His head was hurting too, but he had the pleasure of forgetting about it in a moment of panic.

Turning her head to watch the small fox head to the door before all but disappearing from sight, Kay tilted her head again before she was confronted with Banes. Smiling with a faint nod she chuckled, feeling the gentle heat on her cheeks. "I'm alright..." She started, before a playful grin crossed her lips. "You alright Mr. Chivalrous?" It might have been an obscured chivalry, but at least she hadn't been held at sword point after being taken down by force.
"He doesn't like company though, does he?" She said quietly and glanced out to the door, indeed coming off as a drifter.

He rubbed the back of his head ans smiled sheepishly. "Well that's good. Wouldn't want my efforts to have hurt you" he said as he nodded in response. "Hey! Chivalry is a good thing to live by" he grinned as he stood and offered her a paw to help her up.
"He's...like that. It's hard to describe really, but I think he's more afraid of intruding and being rude than being afraid of company." he said with a nod. "Very hard to get personal information form...even his name. He won't tell us" he said looking to the door, still wishing he could find out and not get the answer of "it's of no importance"

"Its the thought that counts either way, Banes." Kay smiled, reaching up a paw to take his and help pull herself up. "It is, i'm glad to its not dead!" Dusting herself off she couldn't help but smirk, walking ahead and flicking his hip with her tail. "I imagine you got a lot of those skirts with that kind of trait." She teased with a chuckle.
"Its sad...I don't think he's going to find many opportunities around her thinking that way!" It was true, so many foxes were self absorbed until one could get on friendly terms....she knew it would be tough for a drifter like him. "So what now, Banes? We going to bring in the stuff or am I getting a tour?" She beamed, looking up to him.

He chuckled a bit, grabbing her tail gently but letting it slide out of his hands with no tug. "You know it" he winked. Usually this was a side not many got to see, so he figured she must be rather trust worthy to pull up that mysterious bravado he was so known for.
"That it is..but I can't say I blame him." he nodded preparing to quote the words of the little fox himself. "When I asked him where his home was, he said it was gone...along with everything he had to care for. I can't imagine just loosing everything like that and still being as calm and collected as he is" he chuckled to make the situation a bit more merry. "I'd be that drunk bum you see on the streets mumbling nonsense and throwing things at anyone who looked at me funny" he chuckled again, stepping ahead.
"Hm? Ah! Where are my manners, the tour!" he said as he pointed to the living room. "This is obviously the living room. We have a fire place. It does get cold here at night regardless of season. There's also a desk for you know..office stuffs, and some chairs, and a TV...we get shockingly good reception." he mused as he turned around to face the counter that separated the living room and kitchen. "There's the kitchen. Food is in the fridge and cupboards. We should have more waiting outside in the bags that Barricade brought" he explained as he turned to look to her then stepped down the hall, stopping at the first set of rooms which were almost parallel to each other. He waited for her to catch up before continueing

It was faint, yet the vixen wouldn't have noticed it was not a new sensation she had never felt...since half the time she nearly forgot that extra appendage was even there. Looking back and watching that wink she was sure a faint blush must have reached her cheeks; tilting her head with a chuckle. "My my..." Was all she ended up saying on that subject.
Finding her gaze lingering back to the door, not even she could imagine. She still had her family out there somewhere, even if it seemed impossible for her to go back; they were still a soul on the earth. Folding her ears back slightly as she realized it really was petty on her part to think of it so finally when there was worse out there, she snapped out of it when Banes tried to lighten the mood. "Hey, I have lunch with bums....so long as you don't start throwing cats from a shopping cart..." A merry chuckle returned and she followed his explanatory pointing of the things in the house.
"Very nice, Very nice...." Smiling and looking, she was a little surprised about the fireplace and the coolness of the nights here but all the better then it was there right? "You going to be cooking for us?" Impishly she grinned, wondering just what kinds of foods were brought....and of course what the situation was going to be. Following him down the hallway, she blinked between the two doors before looking up to him, "The bedrooms, I take it?"

He let out another chuckled. "Forget the shopping cart, I'll have jerryrigged a cross bow to fling the cats for me" he mused.
He looked into the room on the left, and smiled. "I can if you want" he said as he looked back, finally noticing she caught up. "Well it's close. This one is an office of sorts..Our paperwork is in that room, as is a computer with police database stuffs and such as that. You can go in there if you want, but if you see anything that says confidential...I can trust you not to look right?" he smirked knowing full well he could.
He wasted no time in pointing to the room to the right which was of course a bathroom. "Restroom, and shower. You know...basic living things in there for whatever he said as he moved up the hallway, Motioning to the doors on the right and left. These are bedrooms, both are basically the same thing, so it's up to you on which you take..I don't mind." he said as he opened both doors. The only difference between them was one had a different color theme than the other. "As soon as you are done looking at the rooms, let me know and we can move into the 'basement'" he said making sure to motion with his fingers how lose termed the word was. He moved to a door at the very end of the hall and waited for her to follow

"Poor kitties..." She chimed and nudged his side slightly with a playful smile. "Mysterious skirt chaser and a Cook, goodness, I better watch myself! Remind me not to change out of my jeans mnnn?"
Leaning over to peek at the room herself, there was really nothing of too much interest that she could see herself even going in for. However, looking back up for a moment to his face she smiled; "So long as there isn't a file with my name on it!" She mused with a wink, but then gained a serious air to her. "Of course I wont. May I plug in my Ipod later for a recharge? I usually like to listen for a while before I go to bed and it'll die before we get back for sure."
Turning to eye the bathroom next, she was satisfied; however it wasn't like she ever spent much time in them anymore...paws made it oh so hard to even attempt to straighten her hair anymore so she simply stopped. Following further to the bedrooms, she looked between the two before thinking a moment. "I'll take take whichever isn't on the east, I don't do well with the morning sun..." She grinned and laughed, following him further to the 'basement' door. "All done, sir!" the vixen chimed, a giggle still lingering in her voice.

He snirked. "Oh yes..I'm quite a threat here" he chuckled.
"There should be a guest account on there that you can use. So yeah, if you need to plug in your ipod, then no problems. You shouldn't be able to get on my account or any other officer's anyway" he nodded as he leaned against the door watching her move from room to room. "East is in front of us. So the sun shouldn't come into either of the rooms...considering we are also in the middle of a forest" he said with a smile. It was hard to believe there was anyone else on this island who hated the sun.
"Alright..to the basement." he said as he stepped aside and opened the door, revealing a long dark passage way. He pulled a lantern from the side of the wall and turned it on, along with turning on a few switches that dimly lit a few areas in the tunnel. "This path leads straight into the southern side of the mountain we just came through. It's relatively new as we discovered something" he explained, waiting for her to move on into tunnel

"I can tell..." Oh, if only he knew part of that was a serious notion; yet she was fine with the playful banter for the time being.
"Hey now...I'm still a little disorientated from that climb, its an important issue least you really want to see a monster in the morning." Smirking she tilted her head and flicked her tail as if to prove she wasn't joking about it all. "Just looking out for your safety!" Kay smiled, even though she wasn't able to keep a straight face or believable voice without cracking in a few giggles.
Looking down as the door opened, her brow raised on her face before shifting it to Banes. ".....we're going in there? Is it safe?" It looked like quite a long way in, she didn't like the notion of it being new....what if it collapsed! "Er....you first..." She said with a motion of her paw, grinning sheepishly.

He shook his head and sighed a bit. He wasn't sure by what she meant, but he couldn't necessarily blame her.
"I hear ya..I'm the same way in the morning" he said as he scooted through the door, noticing her sudden nervousness. "Let me rephrase that. The CAVE isn't new...but the tunnel leading to it is..and don't worry. It's safe" he said bringing a paw out hoping she would go in front of him, but alas, she said he should go first so he did. It was a fairly short tunnel that lead to an expansive cave roof filled with stalactites that dripped cold water on him every now and then. "Be careful The floor can be slippery." he said holding the lantern down to the ground so she can see the way. The other lights were placed well enough that it lit most of the cave.
"We found cave a few months ago and dug a tunnel to it. But when we did and got further, we found a curious site that has us perplexed. It's filled now with this strange stuff, so we can't get too close, but we can certainly look." he said as he walked forward, soon pointing to an ominous blue glow in the distance.

Smiling at his admittance, she too found it a bit odd out of everyone she'd met he'd been the first other not to be fond of mornings. How uncanny! She thought and breathed a small sigh of relief as he went in first, more than happy to follow along behind him. Almost as if on cue her foot slipped slightly as she was able to catch herself but not before reaching out to hold onto the fabric of his shirt. "Ah...I see that, sorry..." She breathed, but before she let go she found her attention captured by the amazing scene above; the cave fantastic. "I've never been in a cave before....at least not one like this...."
She could have stared in wonder for hours, but as she luckily had a grip on his shirt she followed along; peeking over his shoulder as she followed his motion to the glow. "Is it that meteor you were telling me about earlier?" She inquired, walking along as she made sure to watch her steps more closely.

Feeling his fur bristle as the approached the site, he soon felt an unnerving tug on the back of his shirt, freezing up, as he soon found that she had slipped on cue. He smiled to himself. Clumsy just like me he mused as he stood still waiting for her to catch her balance.
"It would seem so. Or at least the remains of it. On the other side of the cave wall over there is the beginnings of a brook that is fed by a spring in the mountains. Somehow this meteor landed in the water, trailed under the mountain and broke into this cave here. Very odd if you ask me" he said with a slight air of mystery hanging in his voice.
They soon had approached the small hole where the glow of a blue cackling element covered everything except the water. "We've found that this stuff is capable of severe radiation burns. We don't know what else it can do, but it's dangerous nonetheless" he said afraid to approach within 10 feet of the roped off area
