one of the thoughts i have been having lately is a sort of expansion on an old belief of mine. a simple philosophical thought.
all of the drama and trials we go through in this world are trivial. in the grand scheme of things, we are completely insignificant, in this huge and wondrous Universe that humbles us completely. in comparison we don't matter, we would be arrogant to an ungodly level to think that we're even noticed by anyone or anything outside our tiny little solar system.
and yet, we are made up of the very same elements and particles as all that stardust and space-matter that humbles us. we are made of all the same stuff as everything around us, great and small. of all the same stuff as a universe who's very existance still baffles us. just like that very Universe we live in, we are Miracles.
we are Insignificant little Miracles, and that's all we are. but we are all that.
it's thoughts like these that i miss having. my little random bouts of philosophy. these moments make me feel truely at home, truely myself. to have this relapse into my old interests of understanding, my interests in Science (particularly Biochemistry and Astronomy) makes me feel comfortable for the first time in a very long time.
all these weeks now i've been stressing out too much, having nightmares, focusing on all this human stuff. i realy needed to have this calm feeling, to be reminded of that sense of simultaneous insignificance and universal connectedness. that sense of simultaneous individuality and one-ness with all. i feel like sharing these reminders with other people now, just loving on them and telling them these messages. perhaps i'll write a song or two, or maybe i'll just graffiti. who knows.
anywho, i just wanted to get this written down. i think it's time for something like that.

*purrs in excitement of the coming friday and runs around like a hyper little kitten*
Pheww. Now that, that is out of my system. Good View of humans, it is a small truth in the world and the universe. Though to say that we can't be more than just a small miracle, that is to think on too small of a scale. While it is true that we are truly infitesimal, the fact is we are made up of the same stuff that is making us so small. We have the ability to change things to suit our needs, to follow our whims. We are in our own rights demi-gods for the ability to change the things around us into other things, to use what isn't meant to be used for that. I do hope this is more than a ramble to folks.

Sometimes I wonder how scientists can NOT believe in some greater, divine power. I mean, honestly, there's just SOOOOO MUCH out there, most of it destructive and violent. And yet here we are on our little green and blue oasis of life in the vastness of space. I guess I've never really taken up the Science VS God battle. It just doesn't make sense to me. Everything I learn about biology or chemistry or physics just adds to my awe and love for the Divine. It's one thing to say "the sun comes up because of god" and another thing to realize the exact physics that make up the solar system, and how devastatingly close we are to being burnt to a crisp or frozen solid. Seriously, just a handful of miles in one direction or another would be catastrophic to all life on earth.
And the marvels just keep going, even on the cellular level. Just the wonders of the human body are spectacular. I mean, it takes 29 different chemicals and proteins just to make a clot so you don't bleed to death from a skinned knee. And then you have the immune system to fend off any bacteria that got into the blood system, and the regenerative properties of the cells around the wound to seal it up in a matter of days. The human body's capacity for healing is flippin' AMAZING.
