Just Before An Eclipse

PostPosted: Fri Apr 09, 2010 7:45 pm

Like all young people in love, Eric's face softened and a smile crossed his features. "Yeah, I didn't tell him I was going out..." Reaching into his pocket he pulled out his cheap cell phone just as Emily was seemingly shoved forward. Turning and seeing no one behind them, he almost gasped, as he dropped his phone. Kneeling quickly to the young girl's side, tried to pick her up. "What the hell was that??" Keeping with theory she was pushed, he looked up at Amy, "Did you see what happened?" He figured it was another ghost, who he couldn't see. That seemed perfectly logical to him.

((Sorry--I promise I'll start being better about posting; it's just a lot of things are happening right now. And Emily's really willing to take a lot of pain for the good of science isn't she?))

Amy was smiling softly when the girl leaped forward at her. She sighed. she wasn't that bright.

"Yes, I saw what happened, she wasn't pushed she leaped at me. She can't see me, and she was hopping that if she stood where I was she could see me. Not very bright of her considering I have a negative effect on her" she said sounding rather annoyed.

(and it's alright I understand)

Eric blinked up at Amy, taking a moment to comprehend. "She a twit, isn't she?" he asked his sister, using the term they classified their mother with. Shaking his head, he carefully brushed Emily's hair out of her face, murmuring to himself, "She doesn't smell drunk. That's a plus," Trying to get away from her husband's deeds, the few times their mom would come home--mostly in their early years--and drink. When she passed out, as she always did, the two children would have to lift her up and lay her on the couch, otherwise their father would trip over her and kick her out of the way.

Amy was remembering the same thing as him and sighed. "I think we should take her to a hotel or something..maybe your place..it doesn't look like she's going to leave us alone anytime soon" she said sadly.

The white void began to dissipate. Noises surrounded her and she didn't know where she was. Heck, she didn't know who she was. She floated around, the noises seeming to dissolve the white void. Darkness creeped in, and she suddenly remembered everything. All the sudden, she was looking up at Eric. Sh turned her head and saw a fuzzy image of a girl, fairly pretty by her own standards. Emily smiled, her head still a little misty from her entanglement of images. "Ah, there you are", she mumbled softly.

Eric couldn't resist it: slapping her on the head he exclaimed, "You don't deserve for that to have worked, you idiot!" Guessing, no hoping it was Amy she was seeing and not some hallucination. Looking up at his sister, he sighed, "We're not getting a hotel unless she's paying for it, let's take her home." Sighing in exasperation, he pushed the girl up, to see if she could sit. There was no way he'd be able to carry her all the way home; hell it was even a long walk.

Emily got, perturbed that Eric pushed her. "Appearantly chivilery is a dead artform". She sighed, pulling to wads of one hundred dollar bills. "I'll go get myself a hotel room thank you", she said to them. She started to walk off when she turned around, a warm smile on her face. "Nice to finally see you Amy". She walked off, going around the corner.

Eric blinked, shocked to see her pulling out so much cash. Was she part of their father's business? He was shocked when she stood, expecting her to need more time, and even more so as she headed off. "Woah, wait!" He hurried after her, holding up his hand. "At least take a cab it's a long walk." He said it nicely, like he wanted to make amends, even though he didn't want to apologize. What she did was stupid: it made her fall to the concrete floor, therefore stupid. But she was nice, and Eric was used to non-"bashers" liking him.

Amy followed after them keeping close to eric though she said nothing. she didn'tt feel like talking right now, and she was sure eric could handle himself. she sighed.

Eric resisted the urge to turn back to his sister, not wanting to get emotional and embarrass her. Instead, he just tried to send comforting thoughts to her. She was a ghost she had to be psychic too right? Either way, he was out of shape, Emily could probably easily out run him. Maybe he should take Jack running. The thought still made him smile.

Emily, oblivious to Eric's yelling and trying to get her attention, was deep in thought. "This is going to be interesting.....A ghost.....I can't begin to think of how that might've happened......". While she was thinking, she ran into a man. She stepped back a few steps, apologizing. "Sorry about that", she said, walking off before the man had a chance to say anything.

Amy picked up the comforting thoughts he was sending her, and sent some of her own. Letting him know he could relax and should let the girl be for now. She was tired and wished she could rest somehow. Maybe if she was to..join with Eric again she could, but he needed some time to himself, and definatly if he was going to be with his bf.

Running after Emily, Eric started panting heavily. His pace slowed to a stop. Gasping for air, he tried to figure out where the fatigue came from. Grabbing his left foot, he hopped on his right a couple times pulling his shoe off. Throwing it as hard as he could towards the short haired girl's back. It fell short, but nearly magically, hit her back leg as it fell. Balancing on one leg, Eric leaned against the nearest wall, hoping it was enough.

Emily felt a dull thud on her left leg. Not quite sure how to react, she got in a self defence position she'd learned and spun around quickly. A few people passing by gave her strange looks, but she paid them no mind. Picking up the shoe that she assumed belonged to Eric, whom she had spotted, she jogged back to him, holding out the shoe. "I believe you lost something", she said. She was a little upset that he threw something at her, but apearantly something he had to say was important enough to warrant his actions. Well, she hoped it was important.
