I wanted a Landstryder for Cain originally, but decided it didn't fit into the story very well, especially since those bonds have to develop and the animal wouldn't have survived Volcors ambush xD
edit: @Kalon: I currently have on my comp: 3 diffrent Photoshops, Adobe Illustrator, manga Studio EX 4.0, paint.NET, openCanvas, SAI, GIMP and something else I dun remember...I'll find something, no worries...it's just that I have this very important presentation tomorrow and ever since I got my tablet I've been kinda working on that damn presentation. (About the Leviathan from Thomas Hobbes btw.) Anyways, I#m off to bed now xD

Yeah you definitely need a bond for a land stryder, so Ryona's character would be perfect for that. And yes, Ryona, just go ahead and PM it to me. You might want to glance over a few of the profiles we already have--or at least mine, since there's information about the world in there and not just my character. And it'd be beneficial as well to read the first posts of the OOC, where it talks about Mandor and a few other places. Those other places were made by us people just coming up with things, so that'll give you an idea of the kind of stuff that might be possible. ^^ Let imagination and creativity abound! xD

@ kuno And none of those work with your tablet?? eek Wow, that's odd. I would think any of those would work with it....

So, Kalon, how far are we going to get in the chapter 2? I'm trying to decide when to get Halo to chase after them.

I've actually already read everything, apart from the actual IC and other's character profiles (I skimmed them).
I didn't see anything about bonding when it comes to land stryder, but I'm assuming you just mean that you have one specific mount that stays with you your whole life?
Also, what do you think about him coming from a small island off the mainland? Is that too far fetched?

Yeah, that's probably a little much. Maybe his parents or family could be from there. biggrin I'm not sure how far the mainland goes before it reaches the sea, you see. =) Plus, your character should grow up in Mandor so that he's attached to the land, it's people, etc. Plus this gives him more time to bond with his land stryder. I'll allow anything, though, if there's a good enough reason. biggrin Yay for you for reading everything! *cookie!* The land stryder bond thing isn't a magical ritual à la Eragon. It's just that you need to put in a lot of time for the thing to be loyal to you, and even then they can be hard to control. But when you have a strong bond--like if your character had his pretty much all his life--you can really do some awesome stuff. ^^ The bond comes from a post of mine. Kalon_Ordona_II Land stryders were fast and strong, favored by special messengers and scouts. They had stamina beyond any horse, and speed to match, but they were difficult to control unless the rider spent inordinate amounts of time developing a special bond. Land stryders came in different colors, from purple to indigo to forest green. Most rare and most prized were the larger red stryders more often used by the wealthier nobility. (Kudos to Mismoto, by the way, for noticing that and giving the RP our first red one. xD) @ Lise: I'm not sure how far we'll get in Chapter 2 before Chapter 3 rolls around. The chapter is just going to be called "The Errand of Dragons Rising," and it'll cover the beginning of the quest, the launch of our journey.

Lise Illumincroix Kalon_Ordona_II Yup, that's them! ^^ I'm going to be forced to do group shots now, I know it! lol Now goooooo! Xp
I want a tablet...but don't have one, and probably don't have the time. sweatdrop I know I'm lat on this, but if you do choose to buy one, I suggest the Bamboo Fun by Wacom. It's not very expensive, it's a decent size, plus it comes with free software. @kuno: Have you tried Correl's products? they're not free, but I really like them.

Ok. I ask because I'm imagining him quite viking-esque, but I will erase that line of thought and start elsewhere. Darn you Tolkien and your ideas smile
I have to go to class now (boo) but I will hopefully finish up my character when I get back. I really don't want to go, it is storming good outside.

Like I said, I'll accept anything if there's a good enough reason. Vikingish people are awesome, so he could easily be from a place like that. Sort of a wild spirit which would relate well to stryders? *shrug* Maybe they can be from the west. *nodnod*
You're just getting my brain going, you know. xD Before you know it I'll be persuading YOU to bring in some vikingy people. razz

Holy Schnitzelfish, that drawing is awesome! Seeing Zuuta and Haber in it makes me feel all warm n' fuzzy inside. whee
Maybe I'll draw something as well, goodness knows I'll have enough free time this weekend while I'm dog-sitting.
Oh! I guess now would be a good time to announce that I might not be able to post over this coming weekend because I'll be dog-sitting at my cousin's place. 5 dogs+1 girl=crazy times ahead! xd There's a black lab, an overreactive and hyper springer spaniel, a yorkie, and two pomeranians she's watching for a friend. They have internet, so I'll try to post when I have a free moment.
And yes, GIMP is a many splendid thing. I highly prefer using it over Photoshop, much easier to navigate and the darker grey of the program window is easy on the eyes.
P.S. Many hellos to our newcomer! mrgreen
