((Hey guys, I'm sorry but I won't be able to get on much at all now. Parents have taken away all access to home comp so I'm stuck in terms of getting on Gaia except library and my mom's comp when parents are not home. I'll try and get back to regular visits soon, but little to no chance.))

"That sounds lovely." Lisa said smiling at Dan as she approached the counter. "Would you like to find us a seat Dan?" Lisa asked. "I'll get us a large Hawaiian pizza, and what would you like for a drink?" From the looks of it this place ran somewhat like a pizza hut. You got your food and your drinks and then you paid at the end. That is how it looked anyway. She wanted to talk to him about his experiences, where he had been and all.
((I'm so sorry to hear that Loki! We'll really miss you while you're gone! crying We'll miss you!))

"Sounds like a plan. I'll be right back as soon as I get a good seat or two. In the mean time it doesn't seem they have any Coca Cola here so I'll take a Mountain Dew. Course that won't stop me from drinking in your beauty." Dan said with a wink and looked around. The place was busy for sure. Dan figured it had something to do with the convention but soon enough he found a table for two by the window in the back. He placed his coat on the table to hope no one would take it as he made his way back to Lisa to help her carry things.

Lisa stared after Dan, her mouth held slightly open, as if in shock. Her lips turned upwards in a smile and she turned back to the ordering counter. The man running the till addressed her with a kind enough smile and a warm greeting. "What can I get you today miss." He said kindly, and to this Lisa ordered. He pulled out two disposable cup containers and filled them each to the top, which he placed a plastic lids upon. He also handed her two straws. Looking at the top of the drink container Lisa noted that she could tell her's and Dan's apart by the color though the lid. Her's was tinted brown, while his was still white. "We'll bring that pizza out to you miss."
The man said handing her a plastic number card to set on the table. She thanked him and lifted the two drinks into her hands. "Thanks!" Lisa called back to them.
The place had many angles to it, many rows of seats crammed into what seemed like a small space, but to Lisa's surprise the building was quite expansive. She turned a corner, looking to every booth for Dan. She expected that he would be sitting there, looking around the room, and saving the two of them a seat. She looked back to one of the farther corners and spotted his jacket. Then she felt a bump as she walked into someone. Slightly she bounced back, but luckily caught herself in an awkward moment. Looking up she noticed it was Dan.
Trying to consider herself lucky was both easy and difficult. It could have been a complete stranger, and she would feel like a complete fool, but she would never know them again. This was Dan, he both knew her and was her company for the weekend ahead. Suddenly the facts came clear. It was worse to bump into Dan. She held the drinks firm enough in her hands and looked up at him. "Dan, I'm so sorry!" she exclaimed. "I didn't know you'd be coming around. I expected that you were going to stay at the seat and wait for me." She closed her eyes and the blush, that evil monster overtook her face. "Shall we go sit now? They're going to bring us out our pizza when it's done." She said still with the same expression on her face.

As Lisa came around the corner Dan didn't see her and bumped into her. His body instinctively readjusted to keep his balance but in doing so he found himself nearly face to face with Lisa. "No it's okay Lisa. I should have watched where I was going too. No need to appologize." Dan said as he took her hands within his own. His hands gently covered hers as she held their drinks.
He smiled as she blushed but didn't mention to her how cute it made her look knowing it might upset her since she seemed a little subconsious about it. He began to move backward toward the table with his jacket that awaited them.

Caught by surprise when Dan's hands closed around her own to help steady her clumsy steps she felt immense gratitude. No pop was flung at anyone. None of it spilled. If any had fallen on her or an him she probably would have hid in her room for the remainder of the convention. Luckily though she was alright and nothing happened to either of them.
She was aware as they moved how silly they must look, and how the pikachu in the corner was watching them out the side of his eye, those big black eyes. Soon though they were seated, and Lisa passed Dan his drink. She offered him a straw as well. She shoved the straw into her drink and drank at it till she felt a little cooler in the face. The window beside them helped too as it was cool, just like outside. Finding herself feeling much better and much stronger Lisa turned to Dan, ready now to engage in a discussion. She smiled kindly at him and opened her mouth to speak. "They said they would bring us the pizza when it's ready." She said, setting the number on the table. "So Dan, earlier you were talking about visiting a fort, what was that like? What other places have you been to?" Lisa asked with a tone of general curiosity and wonder.

"Did I? Hmmm..." Dan said as he looked like he was concentrating. He tired his best to recall the moment he might have talked to her about fort seeing as he was used to thinking of his former training areas as bases more then forts even if they had fort in the name. "I am sorry...I tend to say things without remembering from time to time. Can you point out exactly when I mentioned a fort."

Lisa realized she had made a mistake, was the fort he talked about really not a fort, but something else? If it wasn't a fort then why would they call it a fort? She sighed, this time around ignorance was not so blissful. "It was Fort Gordon." Lisa said softly, "You said that is where you learned about Hawaiian pizza. I just thought it was a fort because they call it a fort in the name, but I fear that I've made a big mistake in assuming... Assumptions make... well you know." She said with a bashful smile.

"Oh yeah. Sorry about that. Fort Gordon was where I went for AIT in the army. Basically it is the next step after basic training and it let us have more freedoms as we specialized what we tried to learn. Now that I think about it they still call military bases forts for some reason. I guess it is just something to recall nostalgia for an older time." Dan said with sudden realization as he took Lisa's hand.
"I was there for almost 4 months and it was an interesting experience. I have made many friends who were like a family away from family. With support we were able to overcome anything that was thrown against us as a group. It was a valuable lesson in friendship." Dan squeezed Lisa's hand as he talked. "But after getting out I have found someone else that I care for very much. Someone that I find refreshing, kind, and cute. All very rare traits for people our age."

Lisa watched Dan as his mouth moved, and some how, magically sound came from his lips. It was graceful, could it be called beautiful? No, guys are not beautiful, it was handsome, he was handsome. Her ears heard the words, and dimly they clicked. His lips stopped moving, his hands were squeezing hers once more. She swallowed, trying to moisten her throat so that she could speak. Could he be talking about her? Those remarks, they were spoken truly, from the heart. She knew this.
"It sounds like a nice place." She commented casually as she attempted to hide the thoughts on her pondering mind. "It is nice to make new friends. Do you still talk with them?" She asked, a hint of interest rose in her voice. She smiled a particular smile that revealed a hidden dimple in her cheek. "Is this a girl you know back at home that I haven't heard about?" Lisa asked trying to remain modest. His hands were so warm in hers, and her's were cold. Gently she rubbed her fingers against his.
It was then that the boy who had taken her order came around the corner. He spotted the two of them sitting together. A smile crossed his youthful face and he walked forward, carrying with him the precious luggage. He reached the table and placed the large sized tray at the table's edge, waiting for the two to break their hold of each others hands so he could place the box down. "Enjoy." he said with a friendly wink. "Let me know if I can get you two anything, alright." he said quite kindly.
Lisa, surprised by the pizza's arrival quickly pulled her hands back, breaking the warm connection she had held with Dan. She longed to have it back, to have her hands gently massaged by his. The longing would have to wait though, it was dinner time. "Oh, thank you." She said to the guy. She sighed and looked back to Dan, hoping that he would still answer her questions and keep the conversation flowing.

After the pizza arrived Dan let Lisa's hands go once more as it was placed before them. He was enjoying the time they spent together more each minute but his stomach reminded him who his boss really was as it growled that he was not already biting in.
"No we were close but I lost the pad with everyone's names and home addresses. The day it was time for me to leave was a chaotic one that could have been handled better but then again I am here now so I guess it could have been worse." Dan said as he took a triangular spatula that came with the pizza and scooped a piece of pizza and placed it on a plate. It was a little different eating in because there was no box and it was really hot. "How many slices would you like Lisa?"

"Oh, ah, thank you Dan. May I please have two pieces, they look like they're a decent size. It smells wonderful too. I can't wait to try some!" Lisa said smiling and placing her hands in her lap. There was a nice napkin dispenser near the window. Once Dan had passed her her pizza she pulled one from it's tight pond and began to dab at the pizza to collect the extra grease and oil laying in small puddles on the cheese. "That is sad." Lisa said frowning slightly. "That must have upset you not to have those addresses." She said looking up at him from her work. "Did you give them your address? Do you think they may write you?

"Yeah I did. Maybe they will and maybe they won't." Dan said as he watched Lisa dab at the grease. "I am not to hopeful about keeping in touch though. Even if we were a tight group in the army that was more of a survival instinct. Some of them will be shipping out and focus on keeping touch with families while the others like me that didn't make it will have their own lives to return to. It is okay though because even if I don't hear from them again I will always remember them in my heart."
Dan reached down and picked up a slice of pizza himself and folded it so that the crust became more like a taco shell strengthening it. He blew on the pizza and bit into the end. He remembered his friend from Seattle used to eat his pizzas the same way. It was a shame he had no way of trying to get in contact with him.

Lisa nodded, "That is a very good way to think about it." She commented smiling to herself. She knew it was a rather sensitive topic talking about not making it into the army, or she thought it was the army... She smiled thoughtfully as she lay the wet napkin to the side. She lifted one of the pieces of pizza up into her mouth and took a bite of it. "Mmmm," She hummed, "This is really good, wow, I never knew that pineapple on pizza was so good!" She ate it happily. It was quite good.

Dan smiled and nodded as Lisa expressed her surprise at the the taste of the pineapple. It reminded him of his own surprise when he tried it. Even if it was hard at times he had some wonderful memories of his time there learning things he never knew before.
"So what time should we be heading out tomorrow?" Dan said as he finished his slice of pizza. He wanted to make sure things were going to go well so he wanted to cover his bases. "Now that we have some food in our bellies we can make some plans. I wonder if they have events posted on the web page."
