Raine stopped and turned to look at Nina with a wide grin. "Woah! Someone really got into the hunting spirit!" Raine's tail wagged, "You're getting really good, Nina." She commented as she looked over the prey.
"This will make a great dinner." Raine grinned teasingly, "I can't believe you though. The whole forest will be cleared out before I even get the chance to hunt myself!" Behind her grin the wolftaur's heart quickened. Hunting...it felt like forever since she had been on the prowl with the pack. Soon - soon she'd have to visit them again, to see how things were doing.

Nina flicked her ears back bashfully, though she still grinned happily. "Hey, I need the practice. Though, I know a few who are out there waiting for you to get after them." She smirked slightly, moving to the kitchen to put the rabbits away. "Not much longer though. One of these days, I'll get them all."
"Maybe we'll have to make a special trip ourselves, Raine." Blake chuckled, emerging from his room. He smiled proudly at Nina's catch, patting Raine's shoulder. "The ones where Nina's hunting will all be in hiding for now."

"I wonder about that." Raine grinned at Nina, "Oh really? Well it's good to know that I have something left!" She laughed lightly, "I don't know what will happen that day though. A forest empty of prey sounds like a terrifying thing!"
The wolftaur's eyes flickered to Blake warmly. "Maybe. I remember several good hunting grounds." She commented softly before laughing again with another teasing grin for Nina. "True that! I bet not even a blade of grass dares rustle when Nina's in the forest!"
Her hands skimmed over the prey and by habit even though she hadn't hunted them, Raine gave the prey a silent thank you.

Nina smiled bashfully. "Eh, I suppose catching all of them might be overdoing it." She placed two on the counter and put the others away for later cleaning. The two on the counter would be prepped for dinner "What do you want tonight? Fire cooked or stewed rabbit?"
Blake smirked. "Hmm, maybe instead we should just lock her in the basement. If she keeps this up, word will spread and the prey will all stay away from the area." "Whatever you two feel like having. I have to get the market for a while, sell some of those birds from yesterday."

"Perhaps." Raine's tail twitched playfully before she froze thoughtfully. For dinner? She looked up to Blake and was about to ask for his opinion but just smiled. "Maybe." She laughed lightly, "But I don't think locking her in a basement would be too easy." The wolftaur's sharp gaze settled on Nina, "We could do it, I suppose. Do you really believe it would help?"
She tried her best to sound serious though by the way she had to bit her lip it was obvious that she was trying her hardest not to grin. It slipped lightly though as her expression became serious. "Oh, alright. Nina and I will fiddle around then and get a good meal prepared for your return, Blake." She nodded firmly.

Nina stuck out her lip, stomping a foot. "You will not lock me in a cellar, nor anywhere." She crossed her arms, pouting before letting a smirk show through. "As though I could be contained anywhere, much less by you two."
Blake snorted. "Say what you like kid, but we have experience over you. You'd be down there until the late summer when prey is plenty again." He grabbed his supplies for the trip. "I will be plenty ready for food by the time I get back. It shouldn't be too long though."
With Nina's growth, Blake was becoming again awkward with how to deal with his daughter. He went to give her a hug, but hesitated, following up instead with a kiss on her forehead. "See you then." He turned to Raine, someone he was even more confused about. He settled with giving her arm a pat. "Until next time." He cleared his throat and hurried out the door as Nina shook her head at his retreating form.
"Gosh, I thought you'd be getting a kiss by now, too, Raine." She smirked, turning back to slice the skins carefully from the rabbits.

Raine's hand rose to her lips to hide the spreading grin. She could just imagine what might happen if they really did try to lock up Nina! What a mess! Raine laughed before sobering up. "Aye." She nodded to Blake. Hopefully it wouldn't take too long.
The wolftaur smiled faintly at the pat and watched him leave. It was so - Raine's thoughts trailed off as she flushed. "A kiss? Really?" Raine's startled eyes looked at Nina, "Why would I be getting a kiss too?" She asked before moving over to help with the skinning.
Her cheeks felt warm. Nina was joking. That was all - there'd be no reason for Blake to kiss her. Unless it was something friends did too? Raine shook her head quickly and tried her best to just focus on the rabbit.

Nina laughed softly, a small snicker through her nose. "Because you've been here for a while now. You've been his friend for a long time, probably one of his closest, but you only get an arm pat? That's not like him." She fought a laugh, giving Raine a nudge with her elbow, acting older then her age. Raine was the only one who saw this girl-talk side of Nina. "Besides, you blushed when I mentioned the kiss, and I was only referring to a kiss on the cheek... at the least." She shrugged, taking her rabbit skin and putting it on the rack to take outside for drying and returning the the meat to separate it from the bone.

"Well - to men an arm pat is a sign of friendship." Raine replied as she returned the nudge. Yup! That was a possibility! She wasn't....okay - really a male's sign of friendship? The wolftaur frowned faintly at the thought.
"Umm...blush me?" Raine laughed lightly, "I never blush. You must be mistaken." She nodded, "And...and usually most taur don't think of cheek kissing when they hear kiss anyways! Not that I'm saying that I wasn't, but still."
She grinned and looked up at Nina while her hands picked at the meat, "I sound like a teenager. Jeez." Her tail twitched in humor, "But what else could you think, Nina? You know we're just close friends."

Nina tilted her head. "But, you're not a man." She looked up, ears perked at the thought, and then snorted. "Raine, you're messing with my head. Dad treating you like a guy didn't bother me before." She said, actually pouting. Silly female thoughts, that women should be treated differently.
She chuckled softly, though the back of her mind continued to pout. "Hmm, perhaps I was mistaken. But what kind of kiss could I mean when I'm talking about one between two friends?" She stuck out her lips again. "Sound like a teenager? You say that like it's a bad thing!"

Raine grinned over at Nina. "Exactly." She replied with a smile of relief. "So you shouldn't worry about it-" Her hands froze above the skinned rabbit and the wolftaur looked over at Nina.
"What...what kind of kiss?" Raine flushed lightly, "Well - there's some other kisses...and those kisses can turn into things and well - it's nothing!" Raine shook her head, "You're right. I would only expect maybe a friendly peck on the cheek from Blake." She chuckled, "But I'm sure he'd feel too embarressed to do such a thing."
The wolftaur's eyes sparkled in humor, "Pfft! Like it's a good thing?" She teased before nudging Nina playfully.

Nina cocked her head, clearly confused about what Raine was implying. A kiss can lead to things... huh? What kind of kiss was that? She scratched her head. Those lip kisses, like she saw couples do in town on her visits? She made a face, focusing again on her rabbit.
"Sometimes it is." She said, taking a moment to compare herself to Raine. Both were lean and muscular from hunting, Raine obviously the taller, but not by much. Nina wondered if she might grow taller than her elder, being rather tall already. Though, Raine seemed slightly more... not delicate, but perhaps less boy-ish than the teen at her side. It always surprised Nina to see Raine's strengths during lessons. Maybe it was the delicate coloring, compared to her own coarse brown?

Raine pushed the cleared rabbit fur and meat aside. She reached for another rabbit before looking over at Nina. "Sometimes?" Raine grinned, "I guess so. You teenagers always seem to have more energy then us oldies."
"Though I wouldn't say that I'm really that much of an oldie." The wolftaur's ears twitched, "Let's get these rabbits out of the way quickly so we can do something else?" She asked lightly while already cutting into the rabbit's fur.

Nina had to nod at that. "Yeah. It's for the best. Wouldn't want you to break something from being to energetic and pulling a stunt." She chuckled, tossing the meat and some organs into a pan, tossing the bones and other organs into a bucket for later use. "I was thinking we might fry these tonight. Won't take so long as a stew would."
She groaned mentally, figuring that 'something else' would mean chores or cleaning.

"Oh ho ho~" Raine laughed and shook her head. "Someone's being hurtful." She teased lightly before helping toss the rest away, "Frying would work - I'm fine with that. I've got some nice herbs to try on it." The wolftaur's tail waved, "Maybe some lemon to juice somewhere as well..."
"So since we have free time!" Raine grinned over at Nina, "What do you think? Should we risk doing something?" Her sapphire eyes gleamed teasingly - she knew how Nina just 'loved' chores, "We could clean the whole house. Or we could sort through old things!"
Raine paused, purposefully taking her time thinking. "Or... we could go explore the woods. I would like to find some nice berry bushes after all." It would be no surprise on which they both wanted to actually do.
