Arielle nodded in a military-like fashion that seemed to point towards her German heritage. "Good. I'm glad you understand that." She smiled wryly at Caroline's mention of reactions to her being a dragon. "Mm, yes. Well, look at it this way: how often do most people get to find out that they actually are talking to a real dragon? Dragons are, in most cultures, quite revered. Here you may encounter people expecting you to be wise due to your ancestry and the local folklore concerning dragons, whereas Europeans simply expect fierceness."

A sharp yell could be heard as Akira was thrown into a wall, soon after falling into the ground with a 'thump' sound. As the dust cleared, Sensei, a strong, beautifully magical female teacher at the school who specialized in teacher certain students who had unique powers how to control and master them, walked towards her and shook her head, long blue hair flowing with the movements.

"AGAIN, GET UP, AKIRA, AND FIGHT BACK! DO NOT TRY TO DODGE, STOP THINKING LIKE A DEMON AND FOCUS ONLY ON WIND!" she snapped harshly, watching the tired girl struggle to her feet. Sensei was actually a really kind individual-outside of training that is.

This had been going on for the last half hour now and honestly, Akira was FED UP. She was getting throw around like a rag doll and couldn't muster more than a breeze to counter her sensei's strong blasts of, well whatever that magic was!

The half dog demon's body hurt horribly (smashing into stone walls and trees would definitely cause that) and protested greatly, but she simply nodded, taking a deep breath and trying once again to call apon the power buried deep within her; wind.

But just as she started to grasp at the current, Sensei nearly shook her head and said, "Too slow" before sending another blast of magic at the girl, this time, trapping her in some sort of weird glowing thick wire, that lifted her off the ground and choked.

Akira yelped in pain and tried to claw free, terror filling her every nerve and making her loose focus, her demonic instincts kicking in; exactly what Sensei DIDN'T want. The girl needed to rely on her magic 1st, not her demonic powers! The harsh willed teacher didn't care how long it took for Akira to learn this, she just had too, or else she'd never trully be able to call upon her true power!

The girl's movements slowed down greatly as she was staring to lack air and seeing black spots. Annoyed, Sensei yelled, "DISMISSED!" and the bends around the girl vanished, dropping her to the ground.

Choking and gasping for air, Akira forced herself to her feet, glared at her sensei and dashed off into the forest, tears running down her cheeks. She failed again, she'd dissapointed her sensei and herself...

Once the familiar smell of the lake filled her lungs, she collapes to her knees near the water, taking in deep breaths and trying to calm her racing and throbing heart.

Thankfully, she wasn't in her school uniform, but in her gym clothes because they were full of dust, scatches, and holes.

This made Caroline uncomfortable. "I'm not wise," she admitted. "I'm not even a real dragon. I'm half dragon, at best. My father is human. I'm just his precious princess. But, he's such a wonderful man - he's so kind to everyone. My mom, she's not as nice, but she's so refined and elegant. I want to be like her, without the sadism. I want to be powerful like my brother, but not with dark magic, not with all the awful things it's done to him." She looked at the Headmistress, silently wondering if this was the first time anyone had even hinted at what went on at her brother's school.

A shadow briefly crossed the Headmistress' face, but it was gone quicker than it came, possibly only a figment of the imagination, replaced by a smile, gentle upon the generally strict woman's face. "Don't worry. That's why you're here; you are here to become wise, elegant, refined, to become a beautiful young woman that would do your father proud. Dark magic will not be here, and I myself preside over the efforts to keep it out of this school. Corruption is disgusting, and dark magic is the path towards such a dastardly fate. Even a half-dragon like yourself can become as elegant as a true dragon, without all the thorns."

It was not the first time she'd heard of what happened at Mystic Fountain High School... though it was the first time that she had heard of it being spoken to her face. She was well aware of the happenings at Mystic Fountain and the other schools, and not only because appearing uninformed about matters at the other schools would be unprofessional and make her look foolish.

Caroline smiled at the Headmistress. This was all she wanted, to be strong and elegant and good. All things that the people in her family were capable, but didn't seem to be able to be all at once.
"Sounds like a deal," she chirped. "So now that I'm actually here, what should I take care of first? Classes? Uniform? Room and board?" Caroline hadn't seen the Headmistress's reaction at all.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 09, 2010 3:51 pm

"Let's see... Your room and classes are more pertinent at the moment, and you'll have to make do with our left over uniforms until we can have yours finished. They're all tailored to fit, after all, as it would be inefficient for them to fit incorrectly and no two girls have the same body."

Pulling out a piece of paper, she said, "You are required to take these classes - " she circled some of the words on the page " - but that's only four, and the minimum number of classes you can take is six. You can have a maximum of eight, and if you wish to take more you have the option to after proving yourself capable of handling more classes. This is a list of the classes you may choose from."

She then gave the paper to Caroline and took out a piece of parchment that she unrolled and looked over. "We have quite a few openings right now, as our senior class from last year was quite large... Do you have any preferences?"

Caroline took the paper, and read which classes had been circled as mandatory, and then all the other options. Strange, really, but none of the healing classes struck her as particularly interesting.

"Oh, hmm... learning about other races, that looking cool... So does this one!" She set the paper on the desk and pointed to one of the classes - a combat class. "May I take that one please? And this one too - it seems useful, it sounds like an extension of Basic Defense."

((Just which classes are on the paper anyways? lol!))
PostPosted: Tue Feb 09, 2010 4:41 pm

((lol I don't even know... just... ah, no clue.))

Arielle smiled. "Yes, most definitely. I'm pleased that they've interested you, as they don't tend to have much of a following at this school." She made a few marks on the parchment. "Would you like to take any others, or do you want to simply stick to those and your predetermined classes?"

Caroline look at the paper again. Yes, there were many interesting classes, but... "Six for now, I think," she answered. "I'd like to have some extra time to focus on getting to know m peers and my surroundings."She almost felt like laughing at herself - of course th combat class had interested her the most. She always loved being outside, doing things.

"That sounds very reasonable," she said. "Then, let's see... have you any preferences on your rooming arrangements? There aren't as many rooms left open so late, but there are enough for a pick."

"Well obviously I'd want my own penthouse," Caroline cracked jokingly, making a jab at her own background. "No, no... I'd really rather not be roommates with the girl who escorted me here though. Evermore, I think her name is?" Caroline's smiled dimmed down considerably. That girl had pushed all the right buttons in the first ten seconds. She had apologized too, but that didn't make the young dragon feel much better. "Other than that, I don't have any particular preferences."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 09, 2010 5:11 pm

Arielle chuckled, glad that Caroline was brave enough to actually say who she didn't wish to be roommates with. "All right. I will set up a room for you and let you know. If you don't mind, go into that room over there - " she pointed to a door that had been hidden by a curtain until she pointed to it " - and try on the uniforms inside to find one that fits. Then tell the mirror you're finished. It will take your measurements itself. You may feel a ticklish sensation; don't worry, it just means that the spell is working. These measurements will be used to make your uniforms, which will be finished in a few days' time, depending on how busy the sewing classes are."

Caroline nodded, and slipped inside the fitting room. There was a clothing rack with spare uniforms on hangers - and thankfully, the hangers all had labels on them. It took a few minutes, but essentially it was just like shopping. You had to mix and match the pieces to get the fit that best suited your body, which is exactly what Caroline was doing. She had long legs, and often avoided pants, simply because of the hassle of finding a nice pair that decently covered her ankles on a cold day.

But, when all was said and done, Caroline looked at herself in the mirror, wearing the pieces that best fit her. "Well Mr. Mirror, I'm finished trying on clothes."

There was a small tickling feeling, and her measurement were taken.

"... Sweet."

When that was all done, Caroline left the fitting room, wearing her own clothes. The uniforms she had tried on were folded up and lying on a chair within the room.

"Ma'am, I'm done... What else is there to take care of?" She was feeling a little self-conscious suddenly.

Arielle nodded approvingly. This was a smart girl, one who knew her manners. "I've drawn up a schedule of classes for you. Right now is the third class of the day. You can go on ahead and start on that class. Don't worry about not having a uniform or being late; I've written you a pass and if you show any teachers the back of your schedule, I've given my permission for you to wear your own clothing until your uniforms have been finished." She handed the two papers to Caroline, motioning vaguely to the third class spot and the note.

"I'm still going through dorm rooms to find one to suit you, but I will have one before the end of the day. I will send a note to you when I've finalized it."
