Fae was too distracted by her own jar. She held it in both her hands, a warm feeling overwhelming her body. Her heart was filled with excitment and joy. Quickly, she woke back up to reality and looked down to Nehanda and stretched a hand out to stroke her soft swan head. "These are those creatures I was telling you about, Ombre. Her name is Nehanda."
Ombre listened, but was quickly lashed by a tail. @.@ She gripped the tail and crawled up into the soft feathers. "Nehanda?" She blinked. "Good Nehanda..." She petted her head too, mimiking Fae.
Sage smiled and took some of the bread, eating it. Feeling a bit more shy, he let go.
((Freya and Sage soo reminds me of Adam and Eve right there. XD))

(( biggrin ))
Nehanda stopped grumbling as Ombre found Just the Right Spot to Pat. It felt really good, so she decided to forgive the Fenthry. Ducking, she picked up the offending grape and offered it back to Ombre. Of course she was good!
Foenix leaned back again and smiled over at Fae. She could remember how excited she'd been when her artifacts began to glow. And then, when they had merged and burst from the jar . . . It definitely went down as one of the best days of her life.
Freya smiled softly at Sage. "Would you like to come meet Nehanda? She's the reason Foenix and the rest of us are here. Sometimes, she lets my ride on her back!"

Ombre smiled and giggled. "Nehanda is gud girl!"
Sage eyed the horse Ombre was on. He stared for a moment in shock, then looked to Freya. "Sure." If sheknew this creature, then he knew it was safe.
Fae yawned, finishing up her sandwhich and juice. It was starting to get dark outside and poor Nyxa was still asleep. "It's starting to get late.." She murmured, staring at her jar again, then looking over to Nehanda. For once, she wasnt studying, but merely enjoying herself. It was nice.

Foenix smiled and nodded in agreement. A thought occured to her, and she looked down at her watch. "My goodness," she murmured. "I didn't realize it had gotten so late. Kylara and the others will be ready for dinner, and I have some things I need to do around the house."
She quickly stood up and brushed off her slacks. "It was really good to have some time to chat with you, Fae. You should bring the crew to dinner sometime soon.
Looking over at Nyxa, she shrugged and picked up the picnic blanket, then covered her sleeping form with it. No point in letting the woman get cold if she didn't wake before night fall.
Freya noticed Foenix's actions and smiled a bit sadly. "I guess i have to go," she said to Sage. "I'll introduce you to Nehanda next time." she leaned in for another quick hug, then flew up to foenix's shoulder with a wave goodbye.
Nehanda, in the meantime, merped up at Foenix. Once the red-head had finished gathering her things, she picked the gryphon up, cradling her in her arms. "i'll see you soon, Fae!" And with that, she walked off back toward her house.

Nyxa jerked awake to the feel of something heavy on her chest and something else looming over her. Luc was peering at her out of his black eyes while Julian was staring holes into her face. "Wh-what?" She sat up, careful not to knock Luc to the ground, and peered around. "Oh, how mortifying."
Julian just snorted. "I was wondering when you'd wake up." He rose and clicked his tongue at Luc, and the pair were soon making their way back home.
Nyxa followed after coming to her senses, wiping the drool from her face and raking her hands through her hair.

Fea watched Foenix get up then decided to follow suit. She helped clean up the area and put some extra food wrapped in a napkin for herself. She hoped Nyxa wouldn't mind. She tucked the food into her bag and called for her Fenthry. Though with fuss, they flew over to her and sat on her shoulder.
She couldn't just leave Nyxa here...so Fae waved goodbye to Foenix and sat around, waiting for Nyxa to awaken.
Sage waved sadly goodbye to Freya.

Fae saw Nyxa finally wake up and grinned. "Bye Nyxa!" She waved, wondering if she actually forgot about her. But it was okay. At least Nyxa got some extra sleep. ^^ Fae carried her glowing jar back home through the early darkness.

The day had been long and fruitless for the pair of Inle and Marli. Inle had been continuing her explorations of the island and had been taking pictures of a group of adorable baby animals; she had been unable to discern their species, but she assumed they were native to the island. She had made the mistake of getting too close when she heard an enraged cross between a growl and a roar behind her. She turned, only to find that what appeared to be the mother of the group of baby beasts was charging straight for her.
Dismayed and alarmed, she ran from it. The beast was relentless, however, and Inle wound up climbing a tree to get away from it. She had assumed that the creature would leave once it found that it could not get to her, but such was not the case. It merely circled the tree, leaving Inle up there with nothing to do but make faces down at it. It had left several hours later, and Inle took that opportunity to descend the tree and head back to the village.
She was dirty and exhausted, and while she was almost home, she found no harm in stopping where she was for a rest. She did so, placing her camera bag beside her. She took the jar that held Marli-bits out of it and placed it on a smooth surface next to her, and merely sat, looking at the night sky.

Luc had seen Inle before Nyxa had, drawing her attention to the other woman. She'd just been about to go inside when Luc had sped off towards the lone woman on the beach, his tail thrashing and wings flapping in a fruitless attempt at flying. "Luuuuc!!" Lu-- INLE?!"
A gleeful laugh burst free from Nyxa's lips as she caught up with Luc and Inle. Julian had decided to go in to take a nap so it was just Nyxa and the naughty gryphon. "I had no idea you were here! How the heck are you? You have an Aerandir? What kind is it? Does it have a name?" She clapped her hands over her mouth, realizing that she was jabbering. "Sorry. I'm just so excited to see you here!" She gestured weakly at Luc, who had a keen interest in the jars. "That's Lucius. He's a cockerel/panther mix."

Inle blinked blearily at the sound of someone shouting. It registered in her hazy mind that hey, someone had called her name! She turned her head instinctively towards the voice, a slow smile spreading over her face as she noticed Nyxa. She waved lazily towards her, craning her neck to see her in the dim light. Her smile only grew louder at the woman's onslaught of questions.
"Yes, I'm here kind of, and I'm exhausted--the animals on this island are MEAN--and I don't have an Aerandir yet, just a jar, but it'll be an Aerandir someday, and--" here she had to pause and take a breath, "I got lucky. It's a cross between a rabbit and a tern, which is some kind of sea bird, I think. I got a letter saying it's a her, and her name is Marli, and, and...yes," she finished weakly. "It's good to see a familiar face around here," she said with a nod, looking down at the creature Nyxa had gestured at. She blinked, and with the curiosity of a child told not to touch something, she poked at Lucius.

Nyxa chuckled, waving her hand, "Sorry. It's great to see you." She frowned slightly, "Well.. who is taking care of the kids?" Nyxa blinked in confusion, head tilted to the side, "I had to hire a nanny, of all things." A sheepish look crossed her features, "Avis. She's a nice gal, but I miss my girls."
Luc looked slightly taken aback that someone had dared touch his gorgeous feathery self. He fluffed up and spread his wings, front feet scratching at the dirt in a challenging manner. A low, threatening 'rawwwwwk' escaped him, black eyes intent on the poking finger and the woman it was attatched to.

Inle scratched at the back of her neck at the question. She had never had to explain the whole potion thing to anyone before, but...she figured Nyxa, of all people, would understand. Probably. Maybe. "Well...it's like this. The house me and my brood are living in now used to be owned by a scientist magician guy, and I REALLY wanted to go on this Aerandir expedition, so I dug up some of the guy's notes and made a clone of myself, or I guess I could say the original made a clone of herself, cuz I'm the copy, out of her shadow and some potion which is why I don't cast a shadow, and she doesn't cast a shadow, so I guess you could say I'm watching the kids AND here at the same time. You should visit your kids, or bring them here, I'm sure they miss you too." This was all said with a straight face, as if Inle was merely speculating on the weather. Her attention turned once more to Luc at his adorable noise, and she scritched him under his tiny chin. "He's so cute!"

Nyxa nodded, plopping down on the ground next to Inle. "Ahh, yeah. I should. Adrienne's already been to visit. A potion, you say?" That might cure her own away from home issues, but.. Avis seemed to be working out well, too. "That's a fancy way of curing things, how interesting. So which house are you staying at out here? Mine is the one with the small garden patch near it."
Cute?! Lucius wasn't cute! And now she was scratching under his chin?! Recoiling, Luc promptly snapped at her finger. His tail thrashed behind him, wings flicking in agitation.

She shrugged almost negligently. "It is, but...I dunno, now I can be in two places at once, or something. There's been some crazy s**t going on at home, so I have to be there, and now I can be here too. How is Dri, by the way? Pavel adores the flower she gave him," she said with a fond smile. She was happy that her frightened little boy had something that gave him real joy, and the fact that it was a gift from a friend made it even sweeter.
Inle's head turned at the mention of the houses in the community, before she realized that she couldn't see them from there. Instead, she gestured vaguely towards the settlement. "Mine's the one with the rainbow doormat. I think I've been by your house, the garden looks great!" She seemed to take Lucius' hint and placed her hand in her lap.

The rain that had blanketed the island over the last couple of days had finally passed, the sodden village that it had left behind slowly drying with the reappearance of the tropical sun.
Rahujo climbed down the shaky ladder from her bedroom, yawning and stretching. Golden sun poured in the front door of the forge, sparkling off dust motes in the dark interior. She headed outside, splashing through the muddy, puddle-laden mess that had been her front yard, and hauled the lid off her water butt. With the recent rain, it was brimming with fresh, clean water.
She dipped a generous ladle-full from the barrel and tipped the water over her head. The rain never fell cold on Cetalu - it just descended in massive amounts - but even so, and even having sat in a sun-warmed barrel for a few hours, it was still cold enough to give any early-morning bather a sleep-banishing shock.
Rahujo shook herself, droplets of water flying from her hair and wings and glittering in the sunlight, then grabbed her toolbelt, a shovel, and her bundle from their perch inside the forge doorway. Time to do some proper work...
---
Twenty minutes later, she was in a small clearing deep in the forest, poking at what appeared to be a mound of wet branches with a thin wisp of smoke emerging from the top. It was a charcoal pit, and it had somehow survived the monsoons without being waterlogged. Rahujo poked a small hole in the wet earth at its base with the shaft of her hammer. Smoke curled up out of the hole, and she could see a dull red glow from within.
Rahujo plugged the hole with a dollop of soil, then wandered around the clearing doing the same to the other pits dotted around the perimeter. As she worked, she idly wondered about the newly-born Aerandir - what forms they would take once they progressed beyond the gryphonic stage, what jobs they'd take...
Heh. Perhaps I'll actually have a job to do soon. Spears, blades and bows for hunters, tools for artisans, and the various trappings of their trades for spellweavers, herbalists, diplomats and historians... Rahujo started sketching out some interesting designs in her head while she poked and prodded at the smoking earth mounds.
Eventually, all the pits had been checked, and seemed fine. Good. I'm not in the mood for drying out and rebuilding pits today...
