"That'd be good, yeah," Rory said, nodding. He rested back against the seat, closing his eyes. "Wake me up when w're home, yeah?"

Biting her lip, Lee leaned forward, feeling Rory's forehead to see if there was any indication of how well he was doing, but finding the attempt was a bit useless. "Alright..." Watching Rory, Lee's frown worsened, her suspicions remaining about Jeremy.

As the car pulled in front of Farstep carnival, Lee tapped Rory's shoulder, but found him slightly unresponsive. Smirking, she sat forward, finding he might enjoy waking up to some kisses on the neck better anyway.

Rory made a soft noise at the kisses, smiling as his eyes fluttered open. "Are w' home already? La, but tha' didnae take long."

Giggling into his neck, Lee sat back, smiling. "Cars are a little faster than walking." Sitting forward and pulling the books into her lap as the chauffeur opened the door for them, Lee scooted out the door, nodding to the driver before looking back at Rory. "I'm staying the night. I dun care if you dun want me to, I have to make sure you'll be okay. We should drop these off, first, though." She gestured down to the books.

"I want you t' stay wi' me tonight," Rory said, taking some of the books from her. "After tonight, I want you near me. Let's gae see how Lauss is."

Lee smiled, nodding as she headed into the carnival with Rory, eventually the two walking through the camps and arriving at Lee's vardo. Nudging the door open with her foot, Lee found Lauss inside, seeming to have been waiting for them.
His head shot up at their arrival, and he quickly stood from his seat and dropped his book -- one he'd read and re-read many times. He was even happier when he saw what they were carrying. "Books! Miss Lee, thank you. You remembered the cookbook, yes?" He bounced on his toes, looking at the titles of each book in the stack.
"Mmhmm. Dun burn the place down using it, though..." Lee moved further into the vardo, plopping the books down on a counter, thinking they really should build a good sized bookshelf for the essentic soon.

Rory stayed by the door, waving a little at Lauss. He was more than ready to go lie down, but was trying to be polite to the simple-minded lad.

Looking back and noticing Rory hadn't come inside, Lee bit her lip and scratched her head as she turned to Lauss once more. "You can get started on reading those right now, if you want. I'm gonna spend the night at Rory's, kay?"
Lauss perked up at the offer, scurrying to grab the top book and crawling into his hammock.
Lee leaned closer to the essentic, whispering in his ear. "Rory's a little sick. Maybe you can make him some breakfast tomorrow morning." She waved and, before the alter got the chance to protest -- not that he would, with his new cookbook here -- headed back for Rory, pulling the door closed behind her. "Sorry 'bout that. Let's get you to bed now..."

Blinking a bit before looking up at him, Lee took his hand and started walking toward his vardo. "You didn't ruin anything. I was having fun for a while there. Everything else was Jeremy's fault, not yours." She hadn't meant to let Rory know she knew Jeremy had been responsible, but didn't seem to catch herself on it afterward anyway.

The boy wondered how much she knew about what Jeremy had done, but decided not to bring it up. He hugged her close, nuzzling her hair. "Let's gae home."

Giggling softly as Rory nuzzled her hair, she led him to his vardo, trying to make it quick so the boy could finally rest. Pushing his door open and leading him inside, she smiled back at him. He'd had a long day; even if he weren't sick, she would've expected him to want to sleep immediately.

Rory just smiled at her, moving to undress. He tossed his clothes in a neat pile by the bed and climbed in naked. He held the covers up, silently inviting Lee to come join him. True it'd been a long day and he was tired and worn out and still hurting from the poison, but that all meant nothing compared to being able to hold Lee close and be with her.

Lee still hadn't gotten used to Rory's habit of sleeping naked, but she certainly didn't mind it. Blushing, Lee held up a hand, still working on changing into one of Rory's shirts for the night. He seemed to like her in only a t-shirt and underwear, so she'd stick to that. Crawling into bed next to him, Lee kissed him softly before lying down, not quite tired, but glad to be able to cuddle with a naked Rory either way.

"After seein' your home there, I cannae imagine what it must be like fae you t' be here now," Rory said softly, encircling his arms around her. "Is it strange not t' be waited on hand an' foot? Or t' hae t' make your own meals?"
