Wow, small cosmos.

"Do you by any chance know Rabid-erm... Charlotte? Gods I think that's what the building said, I can't remember her given last name, but does that ring a bell? Possibly bought a bike together?"

Liam's heart would have halted, had he had one.

"Ye'know Rabid?" his eyes grew wide and he clutched nervously at his shirt collar, "She alive? D'ye know where sh'lives?" He had to hope...

Chao nodded, "she's alive, or... well, she's a vampire, but yes she's alive." At the mention of knowing where her friend lived Chao's eyes narrowed slightly, unsure of how much to tell the corpse, but... Liam didn't sound like he wanted to eat her, he just sounded desperate for information. And the recording from the building had made them sound like friends....

Chao nodded once again, "yeah, I know where she lives."

"Ah, she were always a 'alfy," Liam smiled and clasped his hands, pleading, "Could ye show me where she lives?" He then gave himself a quick glance. She couldn't see him like this, and the only way to get back was to...he shot Chao a quick look...no, he couldn't possibly...

Chao sighed, shoved an errant piece of hair behind her ear, considering this and nodded yet again, "yeah, sure, c'mon, there's a way there through my home."

She looked up just as he glanced towards her and caught the look on his face, slightly muffled because of the skin loss, but there was definately distress there yet again. The teen quirked an eyebrow, "something wrong?"

"Yeah," the accent and nasality had disappeared from his voice, as it usually did when his mood turned serious, "I don't think Rabid'd like it much if this approached her, do you? And the only way to get back my physical form aside from the usual mumbo jumbo is to, yanno, recieve blood from the living." He scratched his neck nervously and a fingernail caught the wound around his throat. He pulled his hand away quickly and shuddered.

Chao stared and then shuddered when his fingernail caught in the wounh. No way in the seven worl...

Would she want a friend to come back looking like this? the little voice was the same one that had her bring home the many things she'd found, the one that had convinced her to leave home so long ago. It was that damnable voice that always voiced the possibility she didn't want to consider but DID because it piped up.

Inwardly she snarled at it, argued with it, and finally cursed her lack of magical aptitude and reached down, pulling a sheathed knife from her boot, "does it have to be humanoid, and no I'm not letting you bite me if that's a yes, I've seen Shaun of the Dead and I don't want to be a zombie, or can I catch you a rabbit?" she waggled the knife and inwardly sighed, vaguely wondering why nothing, not even walks, could be normal when one was in Gaia.

Liam huffed, "Humanoid, and I don't want your goddamned brainmeats. Just because I sound like a Brit and look like the shambling undead doesn't mean that I want your liver."

He thought for a moment before adding, "I'm speaking to you, and my eyes are clear. There's no way I'm a Shaun-esque zombie. Even then, I don't think zombie siring works the same," he realized that he was rambling and sighed, "I only need a drop. No need to stab yourself."

"Ah, yes, maybe not Shaun-esque but Gaia had the wonderful thing known as a zombie invasion the halloween before last and they wanted livermeats and more zombies but were sentient and kept trying to talk me out of putting down my shotgun, so you can't blame me for being careful," Chao replied, though her lips quirked up in a slight smile, "if you'd acted at all like a Shaun zombie I would have run for home and my cricket batt already."

She looked down to her knife and shrugged, "wouldn't stab myself if you asked, but knowing you only want a drop is heartening," she sliced the tip of her ring finger while speaking, mostly to distract herself from the immediate sting of pain as the nerve endings spoke up in protest.

Liam gave a zombie-esque moan, which was slightly muffled by his smile. She took the knife from Chao and peered at it, looking for blood. Yeah, there it was.

"You may want to....eh."

Any girl that could shoot zombies could stand to see him cast on himself. He took a deep breath and plunged the knife into his gut, cringing in pain. He removed the implement and licked off the blood, loathing the coppery taste.

"E ien daie" was all he had to say before his back arched back painfully. Ever so slowly, he began taking on a more solid, cleaner appearence. His muscles wrenched suddenly and he cried out in pain, dropping to the ground and going completely motionless.

"Ohgod," he mumbled, standing unsteadily and sweating profusely, "It neve' gets any better, either..." He revelled in his newfound heartbeat, oh how good it felt after all this time...

Hah. Take that, evil spirit. I've still got it. I win again.

Chao laughed lightly at the groan then watched quietly, grimacing as he plunged the knife into his stomach but she didn't look away. Her knowledge and exposure to magic was limited so even if it was a touch gruesome she watched on.

Once he was standing and talking she trotted a bit closer, shed her jacket and threw it over his, now solid, sweat soaked shoulers. It was probably a bit too small but it was better than what he was currently wearing.

The teen wrapped her arms around herself and tilted her head, "can you walk or do you need a few minutes?"

Liam smiled sweetly up at Chao, his eyes shining.

"Thanks," he said and cracked his back, "and I think I'm good." He placed the knife in his pocket, not wanting to expose Chao to ethereal blood, clutched the jacket around his shoulders with one hand and offered the other out to Chao after wiping it off on his pants, "Now, d'ye wanna take me to Rabid o' not?"

Chao nodded lightly and took his hand, clutching at it momentarily, "oh! Liam! I thought we had something, but all you want is another woman. Woe," she smirked and laughed warmly, feeling much better now that she could look at hime when she spoke without feeling the vague desire to vomit. Really, it was so much easier to be around someone whose skin wasn't coming off. "But yes, I shall lead you to your lady love. Come patsy!"

She began back the way she'd come, glancing back several yards away to make sure Liam was following.

Liam followed slowly behind, still trembling a bit. He wasn't going to sit down and wait it out, though. Adrenaline was a b***h.

"Lady love?" he asked and laughed lightly, "Rabid? Neve'. She was like a siste' to me in th' olden days, she was." His worry returned for a moment. It was exactly that...the olden days. They hadn't seen each other in 2 or 3 years, and he'd stopped writing abruptly not too long ago...not that he could help it. He stumbled as he tried to speed up and quickly decided against it.

Chao slowed her pace accordingly, "ahhha," she nodded lightly, the phrase had been said in jest but learning more about her friend was actually quite nice, considering she hadn't even known Rabid's given name until just recently. Not that Rabid knew her given name, even now....

Gaia, with it's many ocupants whose pasts were hidden, often literally, behind cloaks and daggers, meant you often got to know someone only for the present and the future and unless the past came back and bit you in the a**, some things were doomed to be left unsaid. It was both comforting and frustrating.

Chao huffed out a breath and slung her arms back behind her head, "so you guys have known eachother for a really long time then?"
