(((I sent in a Bio Application. I hope that's okay. I was wondering, should I read the entire RP before I post, or would I be able to (if accepted) just jump into posting? Eventually I'll have read the entire thing, I promise. Just might take a couple days.)))

(( Why cry? D: Is it dying? I know it's slow at the moment, partly my fault for being so ... stuck with this post. Been busy for the past week or so with work. =/ And Halloween... things. I went to the hospital on Halloween because my sister hurt her knee. The ambulance ride was kind of fun though.

Oh, and I think I should mention that Myin isn't going to be posting for a short while. Well, she told me she's going to be visiting her family for a few days. So I'm guessing she'll be back by tomorrow or by Wednesday at the latest unless something's happened...

Anyhow, I'll get my post up tomorrow. Haven't really been in the mood to write either. <_<;; But I'll try my best anyhow. =D

And I think you can just jump in. Maybe read the last few posts if you plan on reacting to someone rather than posting just an intro to your character. But I'm sure you've done that. ~_~ ))

(((Thanks. I'm working on reading them all, but I had to save them in a word doc because I have dial-up so I'm only online in the evenings. I'll probably start reading at the beginning, that way I don't totally muck something up in the process. But my first post will, more than likely, be my character intro.)))

Break away from everybody, break away from everything.

-= (( Allrighty, you've been accepted. :] Yeah, I try not to bug people too much about posting time since I appreciate the length of posts I get, and I understand it takes a lot of energy and thought to get them typed out. If it were a lower level RP where people were posting two-liners constantly, then I'd have a little more problem with it. xD )) =-

(((Arigatou! But two liners are boring... and they don't really give the other person very much to go on to be honest. Though, the length of you guy's posts somewhat daunts me... I tend to be a dialogue driven person (probably why I liked my screenplay writing class WAY more than actual short story writing classes) however... I shall do my best to be as descriptive as possible! The more I get into the character and into the RP, the longer my posts get (oddly enough).)))

(( Also, I updated the Client and Companion bio page and added these two things:

Quote:

Note on Companions: When creating a Companion, keep in mind that they need to be able to do something suitably entertaining. They don't have to be circus performers, but something people would like to watch. Also, try to keep in mind why they would want to work for Madam Usagi. These Companions are ridiculously talented, more so than just the average performer, and they could all very easily rise to stardom. Why do they choose not to? Why do they decide instead to work for the Madam and serve a single Client at a time?

Quote:

Note on Clients: When creating a Client, consider their reason for seeking a Companion. A Companion is a friend who entertains you personally, and there's a bond between Client and Companion. If they were just performers, you could have bought tickets to one of their shows or exhibitions. Why would your Client want a personal Companion, that they're technically buying? Are they too socially awkward or afraid of talking to people on their own, eager for companionship and willing to pay for it? Are they just looking for a new venue or doing research on something? Or do they just want a playmate, someone they can hang out with whenever they want, but don't have to worry about strings being attached since it's a Companion's job to do so? Think about it.

Whatcha think? ))

(((I like the update. Gomen though... when I was in college, a lot of my friends enjoyed going to readings of books or poetry... so I figured that would be a good way to entertain... do I need something more?)))

-= (( @Wonderland: No, you don't have to update your profile. Just keep your motive in mind so it can influence your character subtly.

@Nilly (since spelling your name is a b***h): That's fine, I just wasn't sure since that wasn't made very clear in your profile. But yes, perfectly good, perfectly good. ))

(( Wow, never thought it'd be that much. xD Geez. Good luck with that.

Nice updates by the way. I think my characters have those somewhere in their profiles. <<; Well, I know Levant does. ))

Solera

There was something about someone, anyone, asking if he was 'okay' that bothered Dimitri. Even someone as likable as Madam Usagi managed to rouse his ire with that simple question. Was it the fact that it should be quite obvious he was perfectly fine? He was standing, wasn't he? Or was it the fact that people often did not really care for his health at all? It was a polite and normal question to ask if your guest suddenly ran off to the restroom looking ten shades lighter than he was mere minutes ago. At the same time, it always felt impossible to answer that certain question with full honesty.

Suppressing an annoyed sigh, he shone one of his business smiles, hoping Madam Usagi would let the matter go. The toothy, winsome, friendly and brilliant smile told three things. Dimitri took really good care of his teeth. The man was capable of pleasing someone else. Or looking as if he wanted to please another. Lastly, underneath all the glimmer, it said to not question his health any further. Please. "I'm perfectly fine," Dimitri said smoothly. He held a hand over his heart to feel the steady beat beneath all the soft and crisp cloth. "Thank you for your concern, Madam Usagi." Unconsciously, Dimitri moved to touch the outlines of the jagged scar. Delicate tips traced the words at the base of his wrist for a short moment. Then that smile of his suddenly crumpled.

His brow arched in question at his little brother's quick appearance. It hadn't been his intention to distract the other boy with that book, but it would have been great if the taller blonde could be his usual self for a second. Goddamnit, just one satisfying moment of peace. But nope. Walently just had to show up right after him. Which meant only one thing. Brother dearest had not finished that book. It had been, what? Two minutes?

Golden eyes narrowed slightly, a twitch of a smile appearing on his troubled face. So that's how he treats a gift? Dimitri thought with a smidge of contempt. It wasn't often that he gave things to his brother. So if he tossed away something like this so easily, what else could he have thrown away? That book on 'the meaning of love,'? That pure white kitten one of his cats had fathered? What about those batches of creme brulee he'd attempted to make when he'd been 10? Somehow he was upset by the idea. Naturally, it didn't sit well with him; that feeling of unpleasantness. There was only one thing he could think of to do. Note to self, never again, give Walenty a well meaning gift. Maybe something absolutely terrible, but never ever at all meaningful. Never, he thought with bitter determination.

Madam Usagi's voice brought Solera back from his brief moment of reflection. It seemed for that time he'd been staring intently at the interesting design of the carpeting. Amongst the swirls of cerulean and moss tiny abstract golden angels had taken refuge. But upside-down they appeared more like demons, their little incomplete halos looking more like devious horns. Strange drama? his brows rose slightly at the mention of that. As far as he knew, there really hadn't been any. The events had likely occurred during the time he was trying not to toss the fantastic breakfast Morgan had whipped up all over ...everything.

So it was someone named Tel that had nearly forced that breakfast up his throat. Perhaps it'd be fun to meet this person. Then again, it might be a total bore if the kid's personality was stagnant. God, he hated people like that. Not that he could really say since he'd only caught a glimpse of skin tight clothing and dexterious hands.

The rest of Madam Usagi's words poured over him before Dimitri could ponder any further. It was one of those rare moments where someone had his full attention and wasn't performing some amazing feat or embarrassing themselves. Wait. Toy? Out of all the words she'd said, this one popped out the most. But... everyone was a toy, weren't they? The more powerful the better. If only he could get his hands on them. For a second, he eyed Madam Usagi, then quickly decided she reminded him too much of his own mother. Mother was the one person he dared not toy with. Not that he was afraid of such a happy-go-lucky woman. But that wasn't the point now. How could he not toy with the Companion? Wasn't that what friends were for? The man appeared to be somewhat lost at the idea of not playing with friends. In the end he dismissed it to be figured out a later date, if at all.

For now what was important was choosing who this Companion of his would be. Tel was a choice still. Sadly, the only thing he could like about the kid was the chance at some spiteful revenge. If the performer had only announced his act, Dimitri would not have had to crawl off to the Men's room like that. Anything at all mentioning knives would have kept the blonde at the ready. Actually, any warning whatsoever would have sufficed. 'May contain images not suitable for children.' Even that. Well too late. What happened, happened.

A bigger problem was whatevertheheck had occured in that moment of weakness back near the restrooms. Friends with his brother?! As if that would happen any time soon. He'd lied to the boy constantly, so why stop now? That wasn't something he was willing to work with. And it wasn't something he wanted Walenty to work towards. If only he could find a conveivable way to make the irritating kid leave without looking like the bad guy...

The most musical. Sonnen, was it? The blonde couldn't help but smile at the thought of the redneck song. Even with such a hilarious spectacle, the musician still managed to show off his talents. The piano performance only helped to confirm the man's capabilities. Walenty... he always had a weakness for music. So if Dimitri chose Sonnen... maybe Walenty will go away back to mother? But if he somehow chose to stay despite not having the most musical then he'd have to resort to more drastic measures. Which would still be fun to watch at the very least.

Or Solera himself could leave. The blonde eyed the heavy doors. It was then that he noticed two men who appeared to be studying their group. Guards maybe? Despite adequete builds, something about them didn't seem fit into that category. The purple hair did it for one man along with the strange clothing. As for the shorter one, it was probably his stance. Provoking almost. Probably because he was clearly in a terrible mood. Disregarding the new guys, the cowardly act of fleeing from such a challenge was a disgraceful thought in itself. Besides, he'd already paid.

Being ever so impatient, he spoke ever so breezily. Of course only when he deemed Madam Usagi had finished speaking to whomever was on the other line; the person named Braedin. It rang a bell somewhere in the depths of his minds, but alas. Work wasn't the point of this. Where was he again? Oh yes. "May I please have the musical Sonnen as my Companion?" Solera worded carefully. It was strange. On some level he was expecting a rejection so he did what he always did. The man wore a mask of neutrality, completely open to any possibility, not daring to let his hopes soar too high. That way, at the slightest signs of disappointment he'd be able to smack them down himself. "No one else has made me laugh so much in so long..." the man trailed off after adding a dash of vulnerable honesty. "I'm not saying I expect him to do so in the future, but I really feel that we could become good friends." Not someone to toy with. Not someone to break. And definately not someone he could truly call his own.

~Lorentz | Лоренц.

Does his brother actually read those kinds of things? Smut and all? 'Maybe I should go back and get the book? I don't want to look like an arse by leaving it on the ground like that. Or, should I give it back to him? I should simply explain that I really don't have any interest in reading it. It's not even his, is it? ..but, uggggh. That was just disgusting.' These thoughts rushed through his mind all at once as he marched his flustered self back into the theatre; his eyes were glued to the floor, but were not taking in any of its detail.

The chime of the lady's voice stole him away from his thinking and averted his attention up to her. That perfect porcelain face was kindly staring back at his own. This suddenly made him very self conscious of the redness spreading across his cheeks. How embarrassing! Snatching his scarf from the arms from the nearby Adalric, Walenty swiftly wrapped the cloth around the lower part of his face, despite the fact that the Autumn chill was outside. "I apologize for dashing out, Madam Usagi. It was quite rude of me." Wait. Did she just refer to him with his actual name? Well, the boy honestly didn't see any problem with it. It just sounded weird coming from somebody who wasn't associated with where he lives. He tugged down on the top of the wrap to give his nose some air and glanced over at his brother. Oh. That look. That arched brow. Way more than often, there were times when the young blonde wanted to peer inside of the other's mind. Times when he wanted to know exactly what that man was thinking. Well. This wasn't one of those times. One reason was that he was slightly afraid of what he might find in that crazy thing. The other reason was mainly so he could pay attention to what the Madam had to say.

So the instrument player was Sonnen, it seemed. The man with the long, dark hair. And the nice and crisp clothes. Walenty pondered about doing a piano duet with him one day. Maybe. Or a duel! The elation that swam over the teenager made him smile. It would be hard for him to pass up the most musical Companion, for sure. But, he couldn't be choosing based solely on a talent. He really wanted somebody that would be easy for him to talk to. Somebody who he could spend time with. Some honest time. Not just somebody who has to be there, like his butlers and maids. No. All of those years with nobody but his family and next to no social life, this boy was yearning for a true friend. He would definitely be staying at Guilty Pleasures in hopes of finding one.

Oh, wait. Tel? Who the hell is Tel? Contortionist? Just seen? Walenty remembered no contorionist. None whatsoever. Did he go onstage while he was chasing after his brother? It had to have been during then. Just.. wow. He couldn't believe he missed an act that was plainly there. 'Way to go.'

"... not lapdogs, toys, or prostitutes." This appalled the young one so much that his hand instinctively went up to his mouth, the way it always does when he hears about something shocking. Don't people say things like this because it's happened before? Of course, he could surely be wrong. But, goodness, how disgusting. How anybody could go around playing with another person was completely beyond him. '... well. Maybe not completely,' he thought, glimpsing over at Dimitri.

So, all that was left was to request to meet Sonnen and discuss his matter of payment with the Madam! He felt a bit nervous, but he knew that would get him absolutely nowhere, so he quickly shook off the shudders and straightened his shoulders with a huff. Here goes noth- Damn it, Dimitri! This sort of thing seemed to be inevitable. He had learned ages ago to never get his hopes up in something that has Dimitri involved in it as well. He also learned that going against the man in these situations was basically crazy talk.

Emitting the slightest of sighs, he removed the scarf from his face. "And, I would like to meet some other Companions, if that's all right with you, Madam." Hopefully, there were more interesting Companions. People that wouldn't mind spending time with the young one. He'd make sure of this with them first, of course. He didn't want them to be there only because he requested them. Walenty wanted them to want to be his friend.
