"The reason I take advantage of it is because I still have a job to do. Though I would rather die and stay dead I can't. Not yet......and technically your mortal also because you age and grow whereas I never change. I've always looked like this. Same cloths, same shades, same staff, and same body. "True, true. I age slower than humans." Elistral ordered a weak drink, alcohol wasn't very appealing to her. "You've lived longer than anyone in this world, which can be considered a curse. But, life is meant to be lived. Even if you do never change, your actions may though." She took a sip from her glass, the taste still a little strong.

Verin pushed on his window, and it opened without creaking. He couldn't get to sleep, so now he was fully clothed and sneaking out. His knife was in his mouth as he climbed out on the sill and lowered himself down. It was raining, so he pulled his hood over his head and decided to head north where some trees were. He might as well take a night walk to pass the time.
