"I am talking to you, it's the walk really. I have fragile health; I get tired easily and easily flushed." She stared at her hands.
"Did I ever tell you I rescued Kii-kun from an animal shelter where they were going to put him to sleep because they thought he was dangerous? Oh, that lemon pie looks delicious and I think I need more tea. Lemon is my favorite. I mean I guess you could tell, Kumi-chan can you absorb tea, too? Like water?"
She was definately trying to change the subject and began rambling but not in her normal happy way but in a rather flittery nervous way, as if she were trying to force the situation back into it's 'normal' goofy-mood. "I...um...eh...Really, don't worry, I'm fine."

Kumizu rubbed his forehead impatiently. "And we've walked all over this campus without you getting tired and easily flushed before now. No, I can't absorb tea, or water, like a sponge." And I can't imagine why they would put it to- mmmm, delicious. That thought crossed his mind before he'd even touched his food.
In any case, it wasn't too far behind, because that's what Kumizu did: he pulled his coffee and pie in front of him. "Look, I understand you go on talking about completely random things, and I can put up with it for, honestly, a lot longer than I could. Now, I'm going to sit here and enjoy my food. Whenever you want to talk to me about what's really bothering you, feel free to speak." With that, he took a bite of the pie.

"Hmph. I told you I'm fine. Unlike you, Kumi-chan; I don't tell lies."
'Liar.'
Ayise drowned out the sound of her conscience with mental humming, she sighed and within a short-span managed to drink two more cups of tea. Bored, she stuck her fork into Kumizu's pie and stole a piece, "Wow, this is good!" She said her eyes sparkling, "Kumi-chan, what's your favorite food? Or book, or type of music?"
"No tension here, not at all..."
'Liar.'
No matter how much she tried her face stayed at least a shade of rosy pink.

Pie...? She took a piece of my pie? Kumizu was really tempted to overreact to this and see what her response would be, but other times he'd tried that, things didn't... work out for the best. He sighed. Stupid idea in the first place.
Kumizu finished both and put his coffee cup and plate towards the end of the table so the waitress could pick them up. "I don't read much, I don't listen to a lot of music, and I can live on water. In any sense of the term," he answered flatly. Enough of this p***y-footing. She keep coming up with random questions about random things; why not actually steer the conversation to a topic? Especially since she seemed so nervous.
It was unlike her. Kumizu had an idea of why. He figured there was a good question he could ask to figure out what was wrong with her. She'd either make up an excuse and run out of the cafe, or just spill it. Of course, if this was why... ah, screw it. He leaned back in his chair. "... How... do you feel about me?"

In an instant the color drained from her face before she returned to her normal complexion, "Neh? What do you mean Kumi-chan? You know I like you." She smiled in a happy non-comitmental kind of way. Having managed to keep her cool so far she carefully placed down her fork and teacup. "That's a strange question coming from you Kumi-chan, I'm the talkative one."
She twiddled her thumbs for a moment, "I've got a few things to do today. How about you meet me at the Cliffs tomorrow? I'll pack a lunch for us, okay?" It might have just been the lighting but she'd looked almost sad for a moment. She smiled and tilted her head.

Figures. He replied almost as pleasantly. "And I like you, but aren't I allowed to ask questions?"
Unfortunately, that's when she mentioned leaving. Kumizu frowned and crossed his arms. "Sure, that's okay. When do you want to meet?" How about an hour from now...? I need to find out what's wrong. Going to sit on top of some cliffs didn't sound very appealing, unless they overlooked a waterfall. On top of that, Kumizu thought that picnics were rather... juvenile, but he wasn't surprised by her offer. Actually, he hadn't been on one since... mmmm... delicious.

"How about two, tomorrow? I hate getting up early." That last statement was obvious, she didn't handle lack of sleep well. "I'll be sure to bring a lot of different foods for you to try."
"Of course you're allowed to ask questions, just not now." She said finally recognizing his question. She quickly gathered her things, and made her way to the door before he could pin her down with any other statements. "Bye-bye, Kumi-chan."

With that test coming up.. and the play.. and that Cherry Blossom Picnic I planned.. no wonder I feel kind of nervous and insecure.. Ai thought as she took a sip from her teacup, which had designs of little roses all over it, and for some strange reason, she's been having a feeling that someone's been watching her since she saw Joy at the musical hall. Like, she's been feeling hatred, though she has nothing to hate, or does she?
the strangiest things have been occuring lately.. huh.. I wonder why.. I mean.. I haven't seen half of my friends since last year.. Joy was acting so strange when I saw her... though Makie has been the same.. something really wierd must be going on and no one is telling me! I mean.. am I such a burden as a friend.. ? she thought as she crossed her legs undernath the litte table she sat, her lavender eyes looking outside, wandering upon that little flower field that is just outside.
and even my own sister is being wierd; Oliver is never around, he must be around Butch alot just to convince the guy that he is a man and not a boy. Sometimes I wish I can be more of a use to people.. like a true friend.. a true rolemodel.. but for some reason.. I can't help feeling sad. Like no one wants to hangout with me anymore.. she thought as her sighed and placed her teacup back on the little plate. She placed her hand on her cheek and rested her elbow on the table.
... Maybe I should tell someone about what I'm feeling right now.. but no one is ever around.. maybe... I should tell Makie after the test. She'll understand.. she's practically my bestfriend Ai thought some more as she picked up her teacup again for another sip, but soon found out it was empty.

Kumizu opened the door for Eri and followed her inside. A waittress seated them, and gave them two menus, smaller than ones in a regular restaurant. Before she could say anything, he tapped the waittress on the shoulder and whispered into her ear. She looked sad for a moment, then stood up straight and said, "Okay, hun. Y'all ready to order now, or do you want me to come back?" Kumizu looked at Eri to see what her decision would be.

Eri looked at the menu.'Oh dear, I can't read this very well' she thought. She only knew a few words."I ummmm....I'll have whatever he's having." She said, smiling politely.

He looked at the waittress. "Let us have a few minutes, then." She nodded and walked away. Kumizu turned back to Eri. "Well, first of all, what do you like to drink? Coffe, tea, water, soda...? And then... do you like pie?"

Coffee? Tea? Water? Soda? What on Earth were those things?? Well, okay, she knew what tea and water were but the other two choices were unfamiliar to her.And what was pie? 'Well it couldn't hurt to try.'she thought."I want a soda." she said, though she wasn't sure if what she was doing was a good idea.As for the pie question, she was baffled.'I quess I could say yes, another little lie wouldn't hurt I suppose.' Eri nodded. "Yes I like pie. Very much so." She said with a not-to-real grin.

Kumizu could tell in her voice that she was unsure of her choices. Let's try this a different way. "What's your favorite fruit?"
At this point, there was no way he could explain soda without assuming she didn't know what it was, and he wasn't going to make that assumption. "And what kind of soda do you want?"

"Oh I simply love meekle berries!" She said. Once she realized what she had said she covered her mouth quickly and pretended to cough.'Stupid girl! He has no idea what a meekle berry is!' she mentally beat herself up for being so absent-minded.It was bad enough that he had asked her about her favorite food but he also wanted to know what KIND of soda she wanted.'Think Eri....Remember what the talking picture box said....something about coke? what is coke? It's a soda! Yes! Go me for remembering!'With a slight hint of more confidence she spoke again. "I think I'd like a coke." Meanwhile her mind was preparing for any more questions.

"Okay... so we're going to get a Coke." Soda and pie? Eh, can't say I've never done it. The bigger question Kumizu had was what the hell a meekle berry was. He'd save that for later. "Um, besides a... meekle berry, what other fruits do you like?"
