Inutai's ears perked up and twitched slightly when Angela suggested they start moving again. Standing, he brushed himself off and fiddled with his collar until it was in a more comfortable position. Toshi stood as soon as Inutai pulled on his chain to motion to do so. "I'm ready to go, and so is Toshi," he told Angela happily.

Gyp blinked as there was a loud crackling noise, the fire expanded to cover Nimue's entire body, and suddenly there were... two Fluffs? And no body.

"Okey-dokey then....?" Gyp blinked as he strode unsteadily over and looked down to see the white and black Fluffs loll around groggily, and sweat-dropped. "Well, at least I can kind of see now."

He scooped the weakly squeaking little things into his arms, and they huddled dizzily against him without complaint.

Cheeva blinked. Sentimental fools.
"As touching as this is," she said with a sarcastic little nod at Zen and Angela. "The Amazing Flying Midget finally makes a good point. Shelter. Now. Before it gets darker. If Longshanks here can use magic, then he can help me set up some wards for the night. That's if he is quite finished wooing the Midget, of course."
Chuckling to herself, Cheeva gave them a short curtsey and tugged down her cap, tumbling into her cat body. The cat stretched and then licked a paw nonchalantly, eyes searching for any of those rats. Some night have turned their pointed noses up at it but, when they were cold and hungry tonight, their songs would change.

Angela glared at the stupid cat, wishing there was something electric around for her to blow up. "You know, Fleabag," she snapped. "In my world, there are some places where cat meat is considered a delicacy."

Her face was flaming scarlet. She was just hoping that no one could tell in the rapidly fading light. She started after the cat, hoping everyone else just followed because she wasn't in the mood to keep babysitting people. All she wanted to do at the moment was harpoon a cat and roast it slowly over a hot fire.

The group walked for another half hour before finally reaching the first of the foot hills. The road wound through a flat spot between the hills and disappeared into low hanging trees. They found a small hollow sheltered by a grove of trees and decided to make camp there for the night. It wasn't the best possible shelter but they were too exhausted to find something better.

It was only a short while later before they had a fire going and were roasting bits of meat, hunted down by Inutai.

Angela was sitting near the fire, watching the flames. She was refusing to look at Zen or Cheeva, was longing for a hot bath and generally cursing the voices from the sky and hoping she got the chance to beat them senseless.

She glanced over at Gyp. "How are the fluffs doing?" she asked.

"Oh. Just wonderfully~" He smiled, but was very, very obviously gritting his teeth in an 'eat s**t' kind of way. He was standing and failing at swatting the hopping black fluff away, with the white fluff perched on his head vibrating and mewling piteously. He finally succeeded, and there was a loud poof of dirt as the little round thing smashed into the ground; smirking, he sat down gratefully with a sigh (which the fluff on his head mimicked), slamming the staff into the ground. The dark fluff made harsh, angry screeching noises as he pinned down its night-plumed tail with the staff. The light fluff jumped and plopped to the ground and blew a raspberry noise at the other one, and scurried over behind Angela when the black one snapped at it despite the restraint on its tail.

Gypsum sighed again at the two of them, and scrummaged into his bag. Finding what he was looking for, he took out the large jar and clamped it tightly over the darker fluff, scooping the violently protesting beast in. There were many loud pinging noises as it made futile effort to peck at and break the glass. The other hummed and whistled happily from where it had jumped onto Angela's knee.

Cheeva scowled from her precarious perch in he boughs of a tree, a poisoned dart clamped between her teeth as she set a tension trap. Once it was lodged in palce, Cheeva slipped a small glss ball from a specially-lined leather pocket. She carefully punctured the ball with the dart and tipped it upside down, waiting patiently until the dark had absorbed ever last drop of the clear posion. It was a potent mix of rembane and laxlock. Nauseating on their own, but together they caused a painful, spasming death. Cheeva grunted her approval as she fit the dart in place. Nice and noisy, should anyone try and break through.
Gripping the tree with her calves, she flipped upside down to glare at Gyp.
"Hey, Tall-Dark-and-Annoying, keep the noise to a minimum, please. At least until I'm finished. I'd rather have all this set up BEFORE something tries to rip us to pieces again."
She dropped from the tree and picked up the cord attached to the trap, carefully stringing it, knee height, between two trees. It was one of ten she'd set up in a ring around their hollow. Ten wasn't really enough but she was exhausted and she still needed to set up a shield, seeing that no one else was moving to do so.
Cheeva called sparks of magic up into her mouth, swishing them around before spitting a luminous blue gunk into her hands. Blue...right. Not as bad as red or yellow, but definitely not as strong a black. Shrugging, Cheeva daubed the nearest tree with the gunk then pulled her hand back. Sticky strands followed her fingers. She called up the sparks again, swished and spat, mixing the strands with the newest blob of gunk and plastering it to the next tree. Around the hollow she worked, spreading the mess over every tree, bush and rock she passed until, for a moment, the hollow was ringed with a fluroescent blue glow.
"Come on...fade..." Cheeva urged it, strumming the strands atached to her fingers. She sighed with relief as the blue light pulsed once and vanished, leaving only the slightest glow on the strands. Perfect...ish.
The woman stumbled into the hollow and sat down, staring at the glowing cat's cradle between her hands. With a wrench and a pulse of magic, she swapped all the shield threads into one hand. Leaning back against a rock, she sighed. "Chuck us some meat, will you?"

"I thought you preferred your meet bleeding and trying to escape," Angela commented, dangling her fingers absently in front of the fluff on her knee. She wanted to point out that Cheeva's nicknames for them were getting more and more lame but honestly she just didn't have the energy for bickering. Her nerves were stretched taut and she knew that she was going to snap soon if she wasn't careful. And honestly, going on a rampage was really not going to help anyone (though smashing in Cheeva's face would definitely do a great deal to relieve stress).

She pulled a stick out of the fire and tested it for done-ness. It wasn't bleeding any more at any rate so she took a tentative bite, making a face at the gamey taste. She'd had worse though, so she didn't complain. She watched the fire sparks float up to the sky, noticing that the clouds had gone wispy and the moon...two of them actually, were starting to shine through.

"At least it looks like the threat of rain has passed," she commented.

Zen watched Angela and Cheeva argue, his head moved back and forth, looking at the two women as they exchanged zingers.

He was nibbling on some odd meat, not quite what he was used to, but he used it to hide his face from the ensuing argument around the campfire. Besides the annoying creatures earlier, creepy girl, and arguing women, it was quite a nice vacation so far.

"We'll know as it gets later in the night." He replied, coughing on whatever thing he was eating.

[[Well, they really aren't his favourite people right now, anyway XD Chee threatened to poison him, and Angela and he have shared some supremely awkward moments. Then again, the Midget and the Fleabag together would give anyone a headache.]]

Inutai was more than happy to have been able to help out. He especially loved to hunt things, and he was best at it. Quite frankly, that seemed to be the only thing he was good at doing. Besides ordering people around.

He watched as they proceeded to cook their meat. He didn't quite understand why they liked it that way. It was better when it was raw and bloody for sure, so he ate his raw, away from the rest of the group. For some reason, Toshi didn't want to be near anyone, so Inutai was forced to as well. After he finished his meal, Inutai happily curled up beside Toshi, just watching the fire. His ears perked up as he listened to Angela and Cheeva fight, and he heard little dings over near Gyp. Other than that, or the crackling of the fire, it was quiet.

"Well you are just the sorriest lot of heroes I've ever seen."

A figure stepped through the trees into the small clearing. He was wearing green and brown and his hair was a fiery red. He had slender, pointed ears and his eyes were an eerie red-orange with no pupils or irises.

He was grinning from ear to ear.

"By the way, which ever one of you set those traps, I hope you have the antidote for that poison. It doesn't really seem to agree with this guy." He held up a smaller man who was unconscious and foaming at the mouth a bit. He dropped him on the ground near Cheeva. "Nice hat, Kitty Cat," he told her.

"Who are you?" Angela asked, standing.

"Well, my name is Desoriaveriatus Siverthinariata." He smirked. "You can call me Des since it's not likely you'll remember that anyway." He blinked suddenly and leaned forward. "Oooooh. You're plane-touched are you?" he asked. "What--Eladrin? Rilmani?"

She glowered at him. "I don't really know the name of my father's race and seeing as how he wants me dead, you can probably imagine that I don't care. Who are you?" she asked again. "And who is that?" She pointed to the unconscious man.

"I already told you. I'm Des. And that man," he said, pointing. "Is a messenger from the Grey Twelve. He's supposed to be telling you why we're all here. Though he's kind of dying at the moment, I think."

Cheeva gaped at the man then at the threads in her hand. They hadn't even pulsed. In fact, they were still intact. This couldn't be. She swallowed slightly and eyed the new red-head up and down slowly. He must have some...interesting magic.
She realised, suddenly, everyone's eyes were on her. Oh, that's right, the dying fool. Cheeva suddenly crossed her arms, scowling. She was tired, hungry and apparently draining her magic by maintaining a useless shield. She was...in a less than agreeable mood.
"Uh uh," she shook her head. "The Kitty-Cat has been dropped from the sky, strangled, attacked by dogs and had a group of fools foisted upon her. The Kitty-Cat really couldn't care less if the Messenger-of-the-Grey-Twelve dies. The Kitty-Cat can get information from a dying man,if needed; antidotes are not a commodity to be wasted on those who dumped us here or their lackeys."
Her free hand toyed with a throwing knife hidden under her arm. Just let them try and make her.

Gypsum blinked in the direction of the newcomer. He looked like... no, he shouldn't judge on that.

"Heroes? Are you insane?" He glanced around the group. Angela maybe, Zen, maybe.. the rest were kinda just... crazy-ish? (Ok, so the only other two were most likely eating raw meat because they were that kind of species... but looking at them dripping with blood reminded him of something else he really didn't need to remember.) As for himself and Nimue, just kind of crazy-ish too.

As for Sin--he mentally shuddered.

If Nimue could just be restored to how she was before she..... well, no use for those thoughts. He focused back on the stranger, sweat-dropping a bit at Cheeva's speech.

"I apologize on Sin's behalf for that," he said weakly, raising a hand. The fluff rattled angrily in the bottle (which he had muffled with a cloth), and he frowned. This man reminded him too much of a certain other redhead... And it wouldn't be good if Sin noticed, at all. He shoved the buzzing bottle into his bag.

"And, I'm guessing you've been trailing us? As you apparently aren't from here either, if you don't know why we're here yourself...? Though you do seem to know a hell of a lot more than the rest of us." Gyp paused. The man had said, after all, something about the 'Grey Twelve.'

"Trailing you?" Des asked with surprise at Gypsum's accusation. "Hardly. First of all, we came from the opposite direction. And we had to search quite a while before we found you. Unlike some who seem to be present at the moment, I do not have the nose of a dog."

He glanced and Cheeva and gave her a bewitching smile, seemingly amused by her refusal to help the dying man.. "Looks like our Kitty Cat has sharp claws, doesn't she?" He dropped to the ground, sitting cross legged and pulled the lute from where it was strapped to his back. He strummed his fingers lightly over the strings a few times before he started singing in a low, compelling voice.

Though he was singing in a language he knew the Cat wouldn't understand, it didn't matter. The only thing Des had to do was mentally wind the message into his song. That is, his song was telling her to give the poison antidote to the messenger--in part because there were facts he also still wanted, facts the messenger had refused to tell him until they found the others and in part because he couldn't just let the man die, human or not.

Angela watched the thin tendrils of amber magic stretch out and wrap around Cheeva. She was a bit surprised by this. If she could actually see his magic--magic that should normally be invisible--that meant he was fey. It seemed now that she had heard of a race that could use their voices to hypnotize. That must be what he was doing, otherwise, why else would he abruptly start singing?

She shifted uncomfortably as she watched him sing, wondering if she should interfere. Whether she liked Cheeva or not, the man was using magic on her.

But she finally settled for watching and waiting. She would only interfere if it seemed like he had ill intentions. At the moment, she couldn't sense any from him.
