Elst watched as the young boy seemed to be struggling with himself over something on the buffet table. “Yes, lets hope we can get you over to the Nursery sometime soon.” He listened to the boy’s next question, and nodded towards Aoi. The little Proto climbed down from Elst’s shoulder walking over to stand by Shade, his ribbon jingling as he moved.

Yes, I help with the plants…that is my Purpose. He raised his hand, twirling his grass-like fingers through the air, and his entire hand became enshrouded in a thick, jade, ectoplasmic mist. After a few moments, a small cloud whirled its way around the boy’s head, dancing by his ears.

Location: Ballroom

La, but the Essentic was fast. Good thing Fao was in such good shape or he might not have caught up with him. He looked down at the girl when she spoke, chuckling. "Calm, lass. I'm not after him for anything wrong. I just wanted to meet a fellow owner and this one here said you knew my wife, too."

Relief rushed over Lee as Fao spoke, feeling slightly guilty for assuming the worst of her little proto. She slipped her glove back on, seeing as her dessert was long gone at this point, and handed the plate she'd been holding over to Lauss. "Your wife?" She asked, not sure who he was talking about. She hadn't noticed the man earlier, probably because she had only cared about people she already knew.

Location: Ballroom

Ellandra! Riiiight. She nodded in recognition, remembering their conversation from before. Wait... wife?! "You're married?!" This was news. It hadn't been long since she spoke with the woman, and now she was suddenly a Mrs? She blinked at the man, suddenly feeling the need to get a good look at this guy. Somehow, she was starting to feel a little protective of Ellandra, despite the fact she was significantly younger and had only known her for a short time. Lee looked the man up and down, sizing him up in anyway she could. There was really only so much one could learn about a person from their looks but... Well, from the look of it, there was nothing to worry about. She eyed him carefully, clarifying, "Ellandra's your wife?" How strange. Perhaps it was the fact that he was taken, or maybe it was that accent, but somehow... those words made him irresistible. That's right, Lee had a crush. Her first crush, to be exact. She noticed how close he suddenly was and her face turned a deep red. Her eyes widened at the realization that she was actually attracted to someone. I gotta get out of here... She snatched the plate she had handed to Lauss, bowing her head to Fao without making eye contact, and scurried away to the table of food on the other side of room. And from there, she watched.

Lauss just observed, more confused at his owner's actions than he'd ever been. Oh, seeing her blush was a regular occurrence, but seeing her blush so much over seemingly nothing at all was new. He looked up at Fao after Lee was out of sight, hoping he'd have some idea of what just happened.

Location: Ballroom

Lauss wasn't sure how to reply. He hadn't seen her act this way, and was more than a little puzzled. Not only that, but... this guy was hard to understand. He didn't know what "up and skittish" meant. Nor was he familiar with being called "lad". This guy seemed to have a lot of things he could teach him. But first thing's first. "What is your name, sir?" There was more he could have asked him, but Lee's constant nagging kept his question short. After all, he already knew the guy's marital status.

Location: Ballroom

"Hello, Mister Grady, I am Lauss," Lauss said with a bow, and after lifting his head he noticed the man's hand. He remembered seeing a "handshake" from Lee's father, and imitated it as best he could. He held Fao's hand without gripping or actually shaking at all, and let go soon after. While he didn't understand half of the words out of the man's mouth, he tried to string them all together to understand vaguely what he meant. "Miss Lee's name is Lee Katan." He hoped he'd answered correctly.

Lee stood by the grand display of food with her head held low. Really, now, how could she have a crush? She didn't even know this man's name! She hit her forehead with frustration. It might be best to just go back. Maybe make sure it wasn't just a freak occurrence or something. We'll just go look at him again really quick. Just to make sure. She fidgeted as shifted through the crowd of people, slowly making her way to where they'd been before. Peeking over a man's shoulder, she spotted Lauss and the man conversing, and, just as before, her entire face turned red. Nevermind.

Location: Ballroom

A request. Lauss was happy to oblige, as well as finally understand what the man was actually saying. While he couldn't see the exact whereabouts of his master, he would try his hardest to find out. It didn't take long, however, as all it took was looking over his shoulder and scanning the crowd. He pointed straight at her, saying confidently, "There." Lee covered her face with her gloved hands and hid behind the man in front of her. Go away, Lauss. Don't drag me over there. I swear, I'll murder you. Up popped a little blue face right in front of her. "Miss Lee, I believe Mister Grady wasn't finished speaking with you." She peeked back over at the man and smiled nervously, then looked back at Lauss. "I hate you." Her two options were to make a run for it and make a fool of herself or talk to him again and make an even bigger fool of herself. Lauss made the decision for her, and started pulling his master toward Fao. Her face grew redder with every foot as she tugged against him, hissing "Stop! Stoooop." all the way along. "Here she is, Mister Grady." Lauss said as he reached the man once more. Mission Complete.

Lee tugged at the ends of her short hair as she stared up at the six foot man. She felt... tiny, and she had no idea what he'd just said to her. While she was smiling like a loser, she secretly hoped it hadn't been an insult. "I dunno..." she uttered, sounding quite out of breath. Oh god, what do I say now? "You, um... You work at a carnival." ...What was that?! Why hadn't she just ran again? Lauss interjected, this time Lee loving him for butting into her conversations. "What is a 'carnival'?" he asked the man, thinking he'd have a deeper knowledge of such a thing than Lee.
