In my school band is put in the morning elective spot. i'm in 8th grade. 6th 7th and 8th graders have diferent times for their eleclives so were devided by grade. i the 8th grade band i'm 1st out of 4. 3d and 4th suck teribly. 4th joined this year and is more suited for a reeded instrament. 3d joined last year and has the softest sound ever! 2nd started in 6th grade with me and is pretty much at the same level as me but since i was in marching band a year longer than her, i was better than her at the beggining of the year.

I'm gonna be a freshman next year. We just got our results a week or two ago for our high school chairs for next year. I got second chair in the honors band! I'm really excited because I'll still be on first part, when I was expecting to be second or third part.

Freshman- 6th chair
Sophomore- 1st chair
Coming up Junior year- 1st chair

I'm First, I do take private lessons, but I don't work on anything for school there, we just work on scales and sheet music for recitals/adutions oh I play the Flute! by the way

in my 7th grade i was 3rd chair bass clarinet(out of 5) and 1st chair bassoon(out of none).
in my 8th grade year i was 1st chair bass clarinet (out of 3)and 1st chair bassoon(out of 2) and section leader of the low reeds and pit captain.
in my 7th grade year of honor band i was 4th chair bass clarinet(out of 4).
in my 8th grade year of honor band i was 2nd chair bassoon(out of 2).

Back in 9th grade, I was first chair, but ever since we joined the upperclassmen, we haven't gotten chairs yet. But I'm going into 10th grade now, and I'm aiming for third. biggrin
All of middle school, I have been third, and it was awesome.

I'm first chair bassoonist. And last. Since... there's only one of me. xD
We're getting another one, but I'm pretty sure I'll still be first chair. 'Cause... I've heard her play, and uh. o.e; yeah.
But when I played alto sax I was always second chair. And bari sax I was first, out of only two though.

2nd Chair Oboe.
All of us just took our registration testing for next year's seating and I'm hoping I get into symphonic band 1st Chair. We only have 4 oboes and all of them in regular concert band : P

ive been 2nd chair middle school and have been 1st since sophmore year and im a junior now i have to plan a chair test for the freshmen coming in next year D: and im a flutie 3nodding

5th grade- First chair trumpet
6th grade- First chair trumpet
7th grade- Second chair trumpet (8th grade crush my first chair stand partner =.=)
Our bands suck though.
6th + 7th grade honors band- Fifth chair trumpet

I'm second chair.. But people say i need first because i play better than the other girl.... He made her first because shes older >.<
