Ellandra looked up at him after a few moments and met his smile with one of her own. "A-all right," she said quietly, setting Rags aside and giving him a last gentle scratch behind the ears. "I'm not upset, n-not really, the rocks were just a little..... a little frightening, th-that's all."
Why did she have to scare so easily? If she didn't, perhaps Faolan wouldn't look so worried about her reactions to his life - she didn't think it was bad, it was just very different from what she had known - it would take her a little time to adjust.

Fao nodded, getting up. He took off his jacket and tossed it on the bed with the rest of, well, everything that had been thrown on it. "The food vendors aren't far from here." He took her hand and led her out of the small wagon, shutting the door but not bothering to lock it.
A good walk past the midway and Fao was pointing out the food and drink stands. "Eat whatever you like. I'll have them just put it on my tab." He was almost instantly distracted by one of the vendors and headed over there, waving to the man at the stall. He was handed something deep-fried and smothered in chocolate. "Mmm, twinkie dog." Before he could take a bit, the confection was slapped out of his hand.
"What have I told you about eating that s**t?" Keagan growled, then looked at the vendor. "No offence, Maurice." His attention was back on Fao. "Go eat at the sandwich vendor and eat light, hellspawn. I'm not having you get sick up on stage." He looked at Elle. "Hi. You still putting up with this idiot? Good for you."

Ellandra was completely lost as to what exactly she should do. She couldn't just go up to a random vendor; she didn't trust herself to even be able to form a coherent sentence, let alone order anything. She wrinkled her nose at the . . . . thing . . . Faolan was about to eat, and couldn't help but giggle at little at the expression on the fortune-teller's face when it was slapped out of his hand. She smiled politely at Faolan's father when he greeted her, and said,
"H-hello again. . . And . . . A-actually, he's kidnapped me until I d-decide to run away with him." Her eyes sparkled as she spoke, surprisingly a little less frightened of this man than she had been the last tiem she'd met him. Really, she thought knocking that thing out of Faolan's hand was nearly the best thing she'd seen all day - it looked like someone had taken every type of junk food that existed and mashed it into one item!

"Well, that's my boy," Keagan said, clapping Faolan on the shoulder and nearly sending the young man to the ground. "I'm serious about not eating that stuff, and stop getting Maurice to sell it to you."
Faolan nodded, scooting around to ineffectively hide behind Ellandra. "We were just on our way to the humus vendor, honest."
"Ahaha, that's funny. Come here, kid, and let me slap you," Keagan said, moving around Ellandra. Faolan nimbly skirted around her and bounded down the way and behind another vendor. "Don't run away from me when I'm yelling at you, hellspawn." He took off after Fao, obviously not intending to actually hurt his son.
Fao popped out from a vendor near Ellandra and waved at his dad's retreating back. "Should take him a few minutes to realize I've double backed. So. Wanna got get a sandwich?"

Ellandra tried to speak - really, she tried - but only succeeded in nodding her head and bursting into giggles that refused to completely stop. She couldn't help it, honestly - Faolan and his father were just so funny! Her eyes were practically dancing with laughter now, and she took Faolan's hand so she couldn't get separated from him. Finally getting her breath back and stopping her giggles, she smiled at at the fortune-teller. "O-of course - and no more using me to hide b-behind! I'm too short for use as a shield, a-anyway!"

"He'd never hurt me, love. We just like to have fun," Faolan chuckled, taking her over to the sandwich vendor where Keagan was waiting. The old man pulled the boy into an easy hug that ended in giving Fao a good solid noogie.
"And let that be a lesson to you, hellspawn," Keagan said, though there was no malice in it. He let Faolan go and handed him a bag. "Here's your togs for tonight. Shake your scrawny a** and get us lots of money, and maybe I'll give you the rest of the night off to play with your lady."
Faolan took the bag and rolled his eyes, rubbing at his head. "You're too kind." He looked at the vendor at the stand and held a hand up. "Maurice . . ."
"Frank," Keagan corrected.
"Frank, let me have two of your lunch specials," Faolan finished.

Ellandra remained silent during this second exchange, watching with merriment still sparkling in her eyes - though a rather intense blush sprang up on her face at the way the fortune-teller's father had offered to let him have part of the evening off. If this was how Faolan had grown up, she could understand why he was so happy and carefree. A small part of her wished she could get past her crippling shyness and just not care what the people around her thought, but knew that was a distant dream - although, maybe it wasn't quite as impossible a dream as she had used to believe.
She smiled apologetically to the vendor whose name Faolan had forgotten, filing it away for future reference - if, indeed, she would need it for some reason or other. She was likely to need to know it, after all, if she spent a lot of time here in the foreseeable future.

Keagan moved to let Faolan take care of getting food for him and Elle, his attention focusing on the girl. He moved so he could talk to her out of Faolan's immediate earshot. "So, tell me, lass. How's he really doing after his last episode?"

Ellandra squeaked a bit, surprised at being spoken to so suddenly, but managed to regather herself a little and respond - though she did stutter a bit more than she had been doing when speaking to Faolan. "W-well, I d-don't know what he's n-normally like after - after an - an e-episode. . . b-but he sems a-all right. . . H-he slept a v-very long time, th-though - m-maybe that h-helped?" There. That was the best she could do to answer his question. Hopefully he'd understood her past her stutters.

Keagan nodded at her words, watching Faolan banter with the vendor. "He seems alright. Better than he usually is afterwards." He looked back at Ellandra. "Gave you a bit of a scare, did he?"
Faolan moved back over to them, handing a plate to Ellandra. "Stop boring my girlfriend, old man. She's not interested in how far you had to walk in the snow uphill both ways to get to school when you were our age."

Ellandra nodded a little at Faolan's father as she took the plate, but didn't speak to him again - there really was nothing more to say on that subject, anyway. She smiled at Faolan and quirked her lips. "H-he wasn't boring me, Faolan," she said, and paused for just a moment, darting her eyes back to the fortune-teller's father quickly, before continuing by saying, "W-walking uphill both ways sounds like quite a challenge! I - I wonder however you managed it, sir!"

"With oodles of finesse, my dear girl. Well, I'm off. I'll let Fao go back to his hack job of seducing you," Keagan said, clapping his son on the shoulder again, almost making Fao drop his lunch. "Be there for that performance, hellspawn, or I'll feed you to the lions."
As he walked away, Fao held up a hand to Ellandra, giving a shy smile. "He's just kidding. Honest." He glanced around a bit, then spotted an empty table. "We can go eat over there or take this back to my vardo. Whichever you'd feel more comfortable with."

Ellandra smiled back at Faolan, incling her head a little. "O-over there's fine. . . Rags would t-try to eat everything if - if we went back, I'm afraid. . ." She bit her lip a bit and watched him, not daring to make a move over to the table just yet. "Y-you're sure you're up to dancing?" She asked quietly, not doubting him if he felt he was capable of doing so, but a bit worried for him all the same - perhaps this was why Ziazan seemed like such a fussy little thing.

"Absolutely, my love," Fao replied, smiling as he led her to the table. He set his plate down and eased down onto the bench with a satisfied grunt. "Da wouldn't make a big deal out of me going up there if he didn't think I was up to it. These episodes come and go, but I'm used to them enough to know when I can and can't do things after one. If I wanted to, I could go fill in on the trapeze act tonight. I'm feeling pretty good, Elle. No worries, okay?"
