Violet smiled, looking almost sly. She leaned in closer to Don, her hand held up beside her mouth to signal that what she was about to say was a deep secret. "That was a trick, Mr. Shouty," she said, sounding giddy with her own cleverness. "Elephants only dream in smells." After she had finished disclosing her grave secret, Violet stood back with her hands on her hips, grinning triumphantly at having outsmarted Don with this clever ruse.

Beth had watched Anthony closely for most the night hoping to get more information out of him but he stuck mostly to one word responses and muttering to himself occasionally. She decided that dancing and large social gatherings made him uncomfortable and that was the explanation for his weird behavior. Or at least that was what she told herself in hopes that Anthony wasn't some sort of lunatic. She smiled at him and his lip twitched into a smile as well but she could tell he was distracted. He suddenly told her he needed to use the bathroom and left.
Anthony's head was spinning, he had seen his brother, several monks, and several other deceased individuals from his past; all of whom were warning him to be careful and be on his toes for danger. He tried his best to ignore them and that's when he bumped into Violet, Oual and the scruffy looking guard, "Ah....Uh, sorry." He said, telling the empty space that he assumed was his brother to shut up. He heard a lot of commotion about Al Gore that he couldn't decide whether or not was in his head or real.

Tommy blinked, turning to her and sipping his punch, "Gore?" He thought for a moment, "Al Gore?" He looked around and nearly choked on his punch when he saw him, "...Wow..thats outta no where huh?"

"I don't know," Violet said with a shrug, " I'm not an elephant. At least I wasn't last time I checked." Violet gave out a little giggle when a strange man came crashing into Don. She wasn't laughing at the man so much as Don--his inability to topple was somehow hilarious to her. She quickly caught herself when Oual went to help the man up. Violet wanted to make sure that she could help her new best friend if he needed her.

"Thank you.... I think I'm fine." Anthony said as the man helped him to his feet. Anthony rubbed his head and muttered to himself as he nodded to the rather larger figure of Don. "Tell me..... is Al Gore actually here?" He said hesitantly praying that Mr. Gore actually was there so he didn't come off as in need of mental attention. His brother was now standing behind Oual grinning like a fool as Anthony tried his best to ignore him.

Years of paranoia told Anthony that neither of these so called security guards trusted him and a voice in his head was telling him they were both rather suspicious. Anthony's stance shifted slightly as he prepared to back away should they suspect him of anything. "I don't need Mr. Gore for anything I was just....Curious. I mean it does seem highly illogical for someone of his stature to be at a small town highschool prom don't you agree?" Anthony said trying to divert any questions they had for him.

Anthony's heart rate accelerated a little at the man's insinuation. He didn't like to admit he had problems but he really didn't like when other people pointed out his flaws. He flinched slightly at the casual prod at his mind the man had given him and struggled not to retaliate with his own verbal joust. His brother was trying hard not to laugh at him while a woman he assumed was his mother shook her head in disapproval.
Anthony unclenched his jaw long enough to smile and nod at Oual, "Yes I'll make sure to do that, perhaps you could write said information down or a business card? A business card would be....acceptable." He noticed violet for the first time and got a slightly uneasy feeling about her... he felt as though she was a lot more powerful than she let people on to believe. Perhaps she had caused the mental halucinations, but that seemed highly impossible and he cast the thought aside.

Violet had lost focus now that the conversation was directed at someone other than her. Ignoring the conversation at hand, she peered curiously up at Anthony. Scrambled as Violet was, she was receptive enough to pick up on the poor man's nervousness. She could also tell that Oual was trying to be helpful, and Violet wanted to be helpful too. "I bet I could make an elephant," Violet blurted, her mismatched eyes filled with excitement. She had done this sort of thing before--Ms. Philips, the woman who watched her, had taught her how. Violet lifted her finger and poked at the air, as if pushing an invisible button. She could not, for the life of her, remember what an elephant looked like, and what popped into existence at the end of her fingertip could not truly be identified as any particular animal. It was a pink thing with purple-specked wings and legs like a toad. The front of it's body was mouselike, and tusks protruded from the parts of the head where the ears should have been. The only other hint of elephant in the thing was a long trunk dangling from the front of its face. "See, see!" Violet cooed excitedly at Anthony as the thing--no bigger than a robin--fluttered around her. "I made a happy thing, Mr. Jumpy, so now you can be happy and not be squirmy and starey!"

Anthony was flustered, he could have sworn he had told Oual his name and was actually having trouble coming up with it with all the voices inside and outside of his mind. He took the paper from Oual and stared with a frown of concentration trying for the life of him to come up with an answer. Suddenly the girl who seemed gifted started making a lot of fuss about being able to make elephants. Logically he refused to believe this and wouldn't have paid attention if her eyes hadn't caught his for just a moment as she pushed into the air with her finger. A strange creature fluttered into exsistence no bigger than a small bird and flew around the girl. Anthony's first reaction was to jump back and his eyes grew wide in realization. It certainly wasn't an elephant but that hardly mattered as she had just conjured this thing up out of thin air. His mind seemed a little clearer... or maybe fuzzier depending on perspective and he suddenly babbled out a spew of words to Oual, "I'm Anthony, I work at the coffee shop. You know: Cups Coffee. I'm not going to school yet so I spend most my day there." He was still sort of dazed by what she had done. He decided to try and speak to her, "What is your name? That's quite a neat trick you can do."

Chen had seeped back into the main room and was now making his way towards nowhere. It was getting incredibly crowded and filled with metal machines. He failed to suppress an involuntary shudder. People had started to annoy him about 300 years ago and he had started to avoid them since. No one had noticed his skin or hair but considering some of the crazy people the imp had passed, it wasn't really a surprise. As he drew slightly nearer to the doors, nothing in particular happened. Chen decided since nothing spectacular had happened yet, he might as well leave. That is, until someone bumped into him from the side. She wasn't looking and it was if she had forgotten about the people around her. She had stammered something along the lines of "What's the deal?" before turning to look at him. Chen didn't look until he realized the girl was staring at him. Not just staring, frozen and staring. It was kinda creepy, even for a 400-year old imp. "Hm, what indeed," He spoke clearly, as though they had been in deep conversation for several minutes. Chen took the time to observed the girl more closely. She was wearing a lovely dress transformed into something not quite as lovely but just as nice, he guessed (fashion was never his strong suit). The dress flowed along her curves nicely... When was the time he had thought that way about a female? Way too long ago, that's when. ((In case you can't tell, this is for Mariana [Maia Hart]))
