Aedrus smiled, "Follow me, then." He took her up a large staircase and to the east wing, opening a door at the end of the hallway that led into an opulent room with a canopy bed and many other fine things, like a large walk in closet and a vanity. The bed faced east, looking through a large window over the woods and mountains. Faint strands of orange and purple could be seen popping over the mountains' crests, indicating that the sun would soon be up. This room, like every other room in the house, had thick drapes that would block even the noonday sun if one required it, but he doubted she'd make use of them. "How does this suit you?"

She looked around and whistled a bit. "You don 't do plain and small, do you?"

Aedrus's proud smile lit his face. "I detest doing things halfway. And you seem to be very fond of all things fire, so I thought that perhaps you would enjoy watching the sun..." He resisted the urge to say, "While you are still able to tolerate it."

She shrugged a bit. "I've gotten used to the night," she murmured, not realizing what he might think about that....

"Good. Please, though, take advantage of the sun while you are able. I would hate for you to regret not seeing it. I will leave you to unpack now. If you need me, I will be downstairs, in my library." He turned and walked out, shifting into mist when he was out of sight. Traveling this way was faster and easier to him. He shifted back into himself when he got to the library, pulling out a small book on alcohol when he got there and settling into his favorite chair.

She stared after him, wondering what in the Goddess' name that was supposed to mean.
After a few moments, Cylpso appeared before him. "I'm going to help her with her room. do you need anything else?

"Oh, no. Thank you very much. I am indebted to you and yours for all time." He stood slowly and bowed elegantly from the waist. "Please, do not hesitate to call if you need assitance. Those who are friends to Pyre are friends also to me."

She shrugs. "I'm not so much a friend of hers.... It's just good to get some practice, and my girlfriend really doesn't like magic, so I missed it." She turns and head off to find Pyre. She found the other girl in her new room and let herself in. "so the wards around your room are just you only, yeah?"
"Yeah. Thanks kid."
"I'm not a kid. Just because I'm not one of whatever you and Rachel are, it doesn't make me a child. And besides, in m y own right, I'm almost as strong as you are. I'm practically an Elemental myself."
"Yeah, All you'd have to do is give up what you love. Thats gotta stink."
"It doesn't matter anyhow, it's all academic."
"What, Just because your girl friend doesn't like your magic, you just giving it up? That simple?"
"What would you know?" Cylpso hissed, wind kicking up outside.
"I know I wouldn't give up who I am. Not for anyone."
"I love her," Cylpso hissed, stepping back.
"And she hates your magic."
"I found my heritage, my family, my history, and you know what, at least they don't stab each other in the back! At least with the 'Rats I know when an attack is coming."
"And you get to babysit. How charming. So you're going to give up your magic, just like that, for a girl whose probably had more lovers then Rachel's had victims."
"Beach is done with being with others, It's her and me, and we love eachother."
"I'm sorry, I thought we were talking about Beach. But tell me, the 'Rats are all about survival. Without your magic, what do you have to offer them?"
Calypso looked away.
"Look, I'm not saying don't love Beach, or stay away from her or anything like that. You guys are tight, I get that. All of Daybreak gets that. But some of us are sick of watching Dee and Lexis and Lex and Plume mope around because their best friend is trying to be who she isn't. Date beach, fine. For all I care, date Ghost too. But if you give up your magic for them, if you stop doing what brings you joy.... you will hate yourself. Maybe she'll love you then, but what does it matter, if you don 't love you? But hey, you're not a kid, what do I know? you're going to do what you want. So set the wards you came to set, then go running back to your little thief girl friend. But whatever else she steals, don't let her steal you from you."
Cyplso turned her back and began working the wards, shaking. When she was done she just sat there, by the window.
"Calypso?"
Calypso turned to face her, tears flowing.
"Whoa, hold up, I don't do tears... remember? Tears me, no. Not the shoulder to cry on type. No way..." Pyre lifted her wrist and hit a button on the watch that she hadn't been wearing with the dress, but had been wearing ever since she returned. "Daybreak, Pyre. For the love of flames get me plume."
"N...no... don't bother her...I just need a second.... Why are there no plants in this room?" she wailed softly.
"Plume, come get your friend, will ya, before she soaks my shirt. Tears are not nearly hot enough to tolerate." There was a long moment before Pyre spoke again. "What do you mean you're here? I think I'd see you if you were here!"
"wards..." Clypso mumbled through her tears.
"Oh flames, right. Wards." Pyre shuddered then touched Cyplso's upper arm and teleported outside where Plume, looking like an upright, three dimensional shadow, was standing, holding a long bronze rod. "There, she's all yours. And.... thank you. Both." Pyre teleported herself back into her room, opened a bottle of vodka and took a long sip. She watched out the window as Plume, arms full of crying witch, twisted some dials on the rod and they vanished. Pyre sighed heavily and sat on the bed. She took another pull from the absolute, then poured some of it over her head. She closed her eyes for a moment, and not a drop made it to her face. She closed the now half empty bottle and let herself collapse onto the bed. She hesitated, eying the door way then shrugged. She'd have to sleep eventually, it was almost morning. She might as well get a few hours , at least. Not bothering to change clothing or unpack, she climbed under the blankets. She eyed the door and a flame appeared behind it. she fed it more and more heat until it generated a thermal hot enough and strong enough to close the door. She snuffed out the fire and closed her eyes, not bothering to go and close the light as she drifted off to sleep.
