Rose petals? Okaaaay then. But yeah. Nice. Leroux has to be the best version (save PotP, of course). A little hard to read, but definately the best. Which makes sense, really, 'cause it's the original.

Hell, yes. Not being traumatized = good.

Luffage! Hehe. Yes, Winslow deserves luffage. *Squeezes him*

Heh. I'm not exactly a Potterhead...though I do enjoy the books a lot. I'm not exactly obsessed. I love discussing them (and arguing about which ones were the best) so I am sort of pretty involved in them, but I don't really go crazy.

And I agree. The movies can be good...but they never compare to the books and never will. Again, the books are the originals and as such are precisely as they should be.

I've seen Mononoke (my favorite 'cause it has copious amounts of animated blood. I remember how grossed out I was when I saw it at the time when it first came out, but I learned to love it), Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle (which I loved as well) and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (which, ironically, has Uma Thurman as the voice of a character. I liked it, but it was one of his earlier films and not quite as distinctive as his others) and Kiki's delivery service (the first I ever saw, and it was a little bit too fast paced for me to really get into.) But yeah. I love his movies 'cause they're a bit edgier than most animated films.

As for Watership Down...it's quite a violent animated movie too. A bit strange, I saw it when I was like, four or five and liked to act out the fight scenes. I read the book, which was awesome. But I like the visuals in the movie. They're pretty close, except they leave some parts out in the movie. I guess over all I like the book better, but the movie is awesome. And there's blood in it. Yay blood.

Iss okay. It would be kind of hard for me to cross the border into Canada to hunt you down, anyway. And yeah, I've forgotten authors like that before. It really pisses me off.

(And thanks! Well, tht's one of the better things people call me. Usually they call me "That psycho, violent, crazy chick!!!" and back away from me rapidly 'cause they're afraid I'll injure them. I have a bit of a reputation. Not entirely deserved, but....)

Ahaha, I should have remembered that you weren't in high school. It's just that so many people in the guild are.

And, yeah. I love the "Spreading the PotP Love" one too. To think I was the inspiration for that is a bit strange, yet...flattering. I need to get onto her about doing more comics.

Yes. Rose petals. I'm just wierd like that, and full of randomness. I tend to get a lot of "Okaaaay then"s.

Lol, having trouble concentrating today. When I was on AIM with you earlier, I kept getting distracted. That happens when I'm in my living room, with family members talking, budgies "twirdling" (lol, don't ask. It's our made-up word for budgie noises), the TV, and other random noises. Plus, I'm just easily distracted today. Oh, look, a penny! *gets distracted again*

Sorry, I'm just kind of out of it today O_o

Yeah, just from what I've read of it so far, it's already my favourite *hugs Leroux novel, very carefully*

Yes, he deserves luffage! That's why he has us! (the Winslow harem). Yaay!

Yeah, I'm not really a Potterhead either (I'm too much of a Phan to be a Potterhead. Most of my obsession is focused on PotO and PotP) I just meant that it was a very Potterhead-like outburst that I made *giggle*
But I reeeally love the books. Although, the time when I'm obsessed with them is when there's a new book out (or coming out), and when I'm reading it for the first time. I do...sort of...become...scarily obsessed...then *shiftyeyes*

You said it, Alexi...Thorn! (having trouble adjusting to the new name, but I will, at some point) The movies never compare with the originals.

I've seen Spirited away, Whisper of the Heart, and My Neighbour Totoro. I almost watched Howl's Moving Castle, but the English subtitles on my friends DVD weren't working properly, and there was no English audio. And I've seen part of The Cat Returns, but one of my friends wouldn't let me watch the rest of it until I finished watching something else (but that's another story, hehe). I want to watch them all, though.

Wah, noises are reaally distracting me today for some reason. And my typing sucks today. Sorry, just had to get that out.

Lol, you and your violent movie obsession.

Yeah, especially since you don't know exactly where I live. Mwahaha. Yeah, it happens. Sometimes I can't remember something, and then it comes back to me hours and hours later.

(you're welcome ^_^)

Yeah, that's true. But then, if I was still in school I'd probably be complaining a lot about my homework. No school for me until September. This is my first year as a high school graduate mrgreen

Oooh, yes, make her draw more!

*gets distracted by something shiny*

I was pretty high-strung and tense for some reason whil on AIM, so I can relate to being distracted.

Oh my god. I've had some bad experiences with budgies. Really bad. If I never have to touch another budgie again it'll be too soon. gonk

Dude! *Randomness* I cut my hair! Well, I half cut my hair. I went to get it cut and they didn't cut it short enough, so I cut it myself. Piccy: http://img45.imageshack.us/img45/6287/portrait26lw.png

It looks pretty decent if I do say so myself. *Loves short hair*

Kekeke! Winslow harem. Alriiight! *Holds up "I Belong to the Official Winslow Harem" sign and struts about*

Everyone had a hard time with the name change. But people got used to it. So...it's all good.

I like Miyazaki's later films much more than his earlier ones because there's more a definate trademark to them. But I've enjoyed all the ones I've seen.

Yeah. Violence never solves anything...but it's a hell of a lot more fun than the other options!

Shiiiiny! I like shiny stuff, if you couldn't tell. Especially if it's shiny and pointy and kind of dangerous looking. xd

Or just glass figurines. Those are cool too.
PostPosted: Sat Jun 10, 2006 11:18 am

Yeah, tense and high strung--those are the words I was looking for. Also, my attention span was kind of short yesterday. I think it's because I didn't get enough sleep *starts singing* Sleep alone could ease my mind..... Lol, I'm afraid I'm not a very good conversationalist when I'm like that sweatdrop

Mwahaha, I shall send budgies and ladybugs after you (just kidding!).

Your hair looks great like that. Ze new haircut is pretty. ^.^

*hands Thorn an "I Belong to the Official Winslow Harem" badge, while pinning one to her own shirt*

Yeah, when I was lurking in the Insane Phan thread, I noticed that people were kinda shocked by it, lol.

I have no idea which Miyazaki films came first. But the ones that I watched were great. There's just something about his films and the animation in them. There's nothing else like them.

Yes, I've noticed. I've definately noticed. Shiny, stuff is fun. Sometimes shiny, pointy stuff can be fun (unless it's needles...I have a fear of needles). Like those spikes that you are so fond of ^_^

*loves glass figurines*

I never get enough sleep. Like, never. Plus I don't feel tired until the next night. Then it goes away. So I'm always staying up 'till like, 2-4 AM. I'm a little bit nocturnal. But whatever, I function. And you seemed to converse without any problems.

Nuuu! Not the budgies and ladybugs! *Traumatized* gonk

Thanks! I liked it. My mom had no idea I cut it myself though. She would have freaked if she found out. She just thinks I styled it or something.

The only thing is when I took that picture the lighting was all funky and made me look orange.

Yay! Badges! *Pins it on*

Yeah. I was Alexis for the longest time. Hence the disturbance in the force.

Exactly. He has a definate style of his own and that's just what i appreciate about his films.

Dude! I know how to stick needles through my finger without hurting myself! I learned it from somebody (I don't remember who now). And one time when I was to meet my best friend at an amusement park I plucked a pine needle off a tree and stuck it through my finger. She gave me the weirdest look when she saw and asked "Doesn't that hurt?"

Sorry. I couldn't resist.

I'm not exactly afraid of needles. I'd just rather they do what they're supposed to as quickly as possible. I'm not really bothered by the p***k of the needle. But feeling the thing under the skin? That's just really creepy.

But yeah, I love my spikes! *Huggles spikes and gets impaled* *Copious amounts of blood ensue from various stabs*

Glass figurines are teh shiznit. *Goes into a trance staring at them*

Sorry for the late reply. I was away from the computer yesterday. I would've come on, but I wasn't very energetic. It was one of those days where I was just feeling "bleh." So basically I just sat there most of the day, watching TV (except for when I was lying down, lol)

I came across Abarat today in the store. I would've got it, but my brother's birthday is coming up, and also Father's Day. So I must save my money right now.

I have issues with sleeping as well. And at night, I'm usually wide awake. So I usually don't fall asleep until 2-something either (but, hey, I'm doing better. I used to stay up until 3-something). I seem to be more awake at night than I am during the day. I'm glad I didn't have any converse-ish problems, lol (sometimes when I'm feeling like that, I have trouble with words).

Don't worry, even if I knew where you lived, and wasn't way too lazy to send you budgies and ladybugs, I wouldn't be that mean to you.

^_^ You definately did a good job of cutting it yourself. It looks like you got it cut at the salon or something. I think I would just ruin my hair if I tried to cut it myself.

Nah, you didn't look orange to me (or maybe I just didn't notice it).

*loves the badges*

Yes, and pretty animation as well. Luffs them. His stories are also unique and interesting.

gonk Aaah! No talking about needles, or I shall set the budgies and ladybugs on you. Thankfully, pine needles don't bother me as much. Lol, one of my friends sometimes starts talking about needles just to freak me out xd That reminded me of her...

I don't know why but I'm really traumatized by needles for some reason. Maybe there was some childhood trauma involving needles, that I don't remember.

*Learns from Thorn's mistake and doesn't hug the spikes*

Shiznit, eh? Hehee, that word always amuses me.

'Sokay. I've felt like that in the past. Only thing is, computers are my life inside and out (inside the computer, that is. I like sticking stuff in 'em and taking it out. One of the reasons I'm saving up money so I can build a new computer) so it would be really hard for me not to do something with computers. I've tried. It was torture.

I think I know why my mom thinks I should try getting a degree in computer science in college. Maybe she's on to something....

Nice! Yeah, the book is rather...expensive. It took me forever to buy it, too. But that was kind of because of how weird it was. I was a little scared away from it at first. But I didn't have enough money for the second book when I saw it, so...yeah, I can relate. (I got the second book at the place I got the PotP DVD, by the way. And got it signed by the author like, two blocks away. Oh the strangeness of it all!)

Yeah. The sleep issues can be annoying. I kinda...like them, though, most of the time. 'Cause at that time, I seem to be rather emotionally charged then like I'm often not. So I can draw more creatively...and watch horror movies and stuff with more effect. (I'm not scared by movies easilly, so it takes a really emotionally charged time of day for me to get into them.) And it's basically the time I enjoy the most 'cause I can just be myself. The rest of the day is filled with people and...it's kind of not so quiet and personal. Somehow I survive quite well on like...5-7 hours a night. But it's all good.

Yeah, I can't really talk much when I'm all high strung. Or I talk too much. It swings either way.

Haha, maybe it's just me who's mean like that. (Not really...unless you talk to the various people who've pissed me off over time. They just avoid me at all costs.)

Thanks. I've cut it myself before. I really don't know how, though. Maybe 'cause I do it little bit by little bit, so it's not that noticeable if I do mess it up.

I thought I looked orange-ish. Ah well, maybe that was just the monitor on this computer.

*Same*

Yeah. His stories are so crazy...but soo good. *Mononoke love* I love how he comes up with so much stuff and makes it all really intriguing. I'm so addicted to his movies.

Hehe. Sorry. I have a habit of just talking about stuff when something reminds me of it. And I haven't tried to bother people just by talking about it.... At least...not within the last week.

PINE NEEDLES! Hehe. ...Sorry. *Snicker*

Well, I had a childhood trauma involving stepping off the edge of a chair when I was like, 2-ish I think, which gives me a really bizzare, specific fear of heights. So it's very possible about your needle thing as well.

Yeah. Shiznit. A friend of mine always says that, and I kind of picked it up from him. It's a fun word, though!

Kind of like "Ackthingfeth!"
PostPosted: Tue Jun 13, 2006 7:39 pm

AH, I see. I'm not one of those people who's really good with computers. I can use them, but if I were to try taking one of them apart I'd just be really confused. I'd probably just end up ruining the computer in some way.

Yeah, maybe she is onto something. 'Twould be a very good degree to have. Plus, it's something that you enjoy, which is always a plus 3nodding

Yes, quite expensive, but I shall get it eventually *grins.* Author sign-ish-ness. Awesome.

Oh, man, I didn't get to sleep until after 3 last night. I went to bed at 2-ish, I guess, but I couldn't fall asleep because my knee was hurting (it was swollen for some reason). I totally relate, because it is the time when you can just be yourself. So I gets it. *starts singing Music of the Night*

Yeah, I think it kinda swings both ways for me as well (although it usually seems to be the latter).

*giggles* Yeah, I can imagine.

Hehe, if I cut mine myself it'd probably be a funny shape because mine has to be cut in just the right place. Because of the curliness. I've had a haircut before that was cut in the wrong place, and it just looked wierd. So, yeah, I'm sticking with the salon.

Yeah, it could just be that *nodnod*

Yes, yes. So true. And I was in my favourite asian mall today, where they have all his films, for cheap. I want to buy 'em all. Must get my friend to lend me "The Cat Returns."

Aww, it's okay. I understand.

Lol, pine needles are fine with me (just as long as they're not sticking into me). It's mostly the metal kind that freak me out.

Hmm...the edge of a chair? Eenteresting...Yeah, I remember getting a needle sometime when I was reeeally young, and I guess that's probably what did it. The first needle I remember getting.

Yes, ackthingfeth! Love that one!

I was just kind of always into computers. So I took classes in computer build and repair and advanced repair. And I sort of taught myself HTML. It was pretty much a natural thing for me. So, yeah, I am seroiusly considering computer science as a major.

Yeah. I was so psyched. The guy was so cool. He shared so many of the same views with me, it's awesome.

Yeah. I didn't get to bed until around then, either. I was hoping to stick it out until 4 AM, but I was feeling too apathetic and uneasy, so I didn't bother. Damn you, math homework! *Starts singing Revenga*

My hair is normally really, terribly wavy. But I blow-dry it at all and it's straight. The oddness!

Asian malls? And I didn't know those even existed! I want Mononoke on DVD!

Ah, yeah. How do you feel about pins? Or are those bad too?

Ackthingfeth! Mrrk!

Warning!
Posthypnotic suggestons....
PostPosted: Thu Jun 15, 2006 3:52 pm

That's pretty cool. I think you should definately major in computer science. Gah, too much HTML confuses me. I remember typing out tons and tons of HTML when I took Communications Technology in school. And then I was like "No more HTML!" Heh...I like HTML, but only to a certain point.

That's cool. So want to get that book.

Hehe, last night I stayed up late reading some more of the Leroux novel (I should've been in bed a couple of hours earlier). I heart the Leroux novel. Veeeery muchly *nods, while grinning somewhat scarily* Math homework, eh? *shudders*

That's cool. My hair doesn't straighten even when I blow-dry it. It's funny because when I was younger I had really straight hair, which wouldn't stay curly no matter what I did. Now it's super curly and nothing will make it stay straight. I like having curly hair though. But one day I'd like to get it completely straightened just so I could totally shock people. That'd be fun.

Yeah, we have a bunch of Asian malls and stores here. It's awesome. They have so much anime *happy sigh* Pacific Mall is the best one though.

http://www.pacificmalltoronto.com/

It also has another Chinese mall next to it called Market Village. Anyway, I see the Mononoke DVD almost everytime I go there (and the other Miyazaki DVDs). They're kinda bootlegs though. But probably good quality ones.

Pins kinda freak me out too, lol. They're not so bad, but I just try to avoid touching them as much as possible. Sewing needles, too. I mean, I can sew and stuff, but I really don't like to xd

I like the "Mrrk" one as well! Funnie words are the bestest!

Posthypnotic suggestions, eh?

HTML is fun! Okay, I haven't had to type in shitloads of the stuff incessantly, but ehh.

Fun. I finished Leroux on January 1st 2005. I remember this 'cause I went to see the ALW movie the day afterward. I was determined to finish Leroux before I saw the movie. And since I had planned to see the movie on a certain day, I had to finish the book before then. But it was all good.

Yeah. Math homework. Strangely it seems to have gotten me out of this really annoying surge of PMS. For once...I felt like math was actually helping instead of making me do stuff just so I could answer test questions correctly.

My hair was straight when I was little. And now my mom sees it directly after a shower or if I, for whatever reason, did not blow-dry it, and she says "Looks like Bozo's been ******** around." It's actually quite hillarious.

Nice. I don't think Asian malls are particularly popular here in the US.

I can sew. I just suck at it. I've gotten better, but...I'm just really bad. *Trying so hard not to recount a (very bad) needle story* *Cringe*

Mrrk is fun yo say out loud. I like weird, meaningless noises that just sound cool.

Yeah. From another SoaD song. Called...Suggestions.

*Imagines people bleeding from the ears and cackles evilly*
PostPosted: Fri Jun 16, 2006 7:12 pm

Yeah, typing shitloads of HTML incessantly isn't fun. But otherwise, HTML can be fun ^_^

I still haven't finished it, actually. I know it's a fairly short book, but I want to take my time on it and savour it, since I waited months to get it (after searching for it in bookstore after bookstore, and then finally giving up on the search and getting my dads to order it for me). I'm about halfway through, at least. And Raoul keeps bursting into tears...(okay, I'm not a Raoul-basher, and I've got nothing against males crying, but I couldn't help but notice that Raoul cries a lot more than the heroine of the novel. In fact, so far I don't think Christine's cried once). Nice. I didn't see the movie until this year (in January, I think).

Wow, math homework to the rescue. That's unusual. Yeah, PMS is annoying.

Lol, Bozo, eh? *giggles*

Yeah, I figured. I don't think they're particularly popular in most of Canada either, but the part of Toronto that I live in has a very strong Asian influence. *luffs Asian malls*

I'm not so great at sewing either. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I don't actually want to be touching the needle sweatdrop And thanks for not recounting that story.

It does seem like it'd be fun to say. Yeah, so do I. In fact, I kind of make wierd, meaningless noises sometimes myself. Like "aieeesh" (a noise that I have the habit of making, often when I've done something klutzy)

Ah, I understand. *becomes slightly disturbed*

Ezatly. (Was a typo, but it's such a cool word that I'm gonna keep it.)

Yeah. I savored the thing for a while. Well, I did have to read some other stuff at the time, but I took my time, too. I got it...December 21st, I think? I'm not entirely sure, but pretty.

And yeah, Raoul does kind of cry a lot. Same, I'm not really a Raoul basher, but that is kind of weird. Christine's so much tougher than she is in any other version! I like Leroux!Christine the best because of this.

And I couldn't see the movie the moment it came out 'cause I didn't want my mom to know I was going to see it. I saw it twice and she never found out. She didn't even know that I liked PotO at the time.

Yeah. I was pretty surprised. I'm pretty good with math when I know what I'm doing, but a lot of the time I just get really confused and it takes forever 'cause they always give so much of the stuff.

*Nodnod* Bozo's lovechild! gonk

Yeeah. I was never taught to sew so I basically had to learn myself. And I couldn't use sewing machines if my life depended on it. So it's by hand for me.

And no problem.

Aieeesh? Haha! That's amusing. My sounds tend to me more animalistic. Like hisses or growls. I dunno why. They're just fun to say. And people think I have rabies or something. Hehe.

Ah, but that book is so good!
PostPosted: Mon Jun 19, 2006 4:48 pm

Yesh, another new word, brought on by a typo! *is back, after 2 days of not being on the computer* Ezatly is a good word ^_^

Yep, it's just so much better when you take your time reading a good book.

Yes, I've noticed this too! Christine is a lot tougher in this version. And, yeah, she's my favourite version of Christine as well.

Hehe, we both seem to have this habit of doing things in secret like that. It's kinda funny.

Yeah, math can be like that. And a lot of the time it depends on whether or not you have a teacher who explains the stuff properly. There were a couple of years when I did really well because I had a teacher who helped me to understand it a lot better. But when they just pile it on like that, it makes it even more difficult.

*falls over laughing* Aww, you poor thing!

It's pretty cool that you taught yourself. I learned it in school though. Strangely enough, I prefer using sewing machines (actually, maybe it's not that strange. It's probably just because I don't actually have to touch the needle when I'm using a machine, except to thread it).

Yeah, I sometimes seem to make up words without realizing I've made up a word. Aieeesh was one of those. It just kind of comes out at certain times, and I didn't even make it up on purpose. It's funny. But hisses and growls can also be fun.

Ezatly! And welcome back!

*Nodnod* It's so hard though! It's like, you want to find out what happens and are like, "Put...down...book...now!"

Tough Christine is awesome! *Loves tough women, if you couldn't tell*

Hehe, yeah. It's pretty funny how similar we are. I love sneaking around. I'm rather...protective of my dignity, so I will not tell people about stuff that I think they will be all disdainful about. (My mom read a bad review of PotO and I was kind of worried about how she'd react to my teratophilia, so I told her I was going out with a friend. *Evil laugh, shifty eyes*)

Math seems to have gotten a lot more fun over the past week. It's kind of odd, but really a good thing. Hmm. Maybe it's because I've been giving it more of a chance and have some decent help with it.

Yeah. In fact, today it was really humid, and I hadn't bothered to blow-dry my hair after I showered last night, so my head was practically a freakshow. And my mom was all like "The progeny of Bozo and Xena the Warrior Princess!" I thought it was pretty hillarious.

I taught myself 'cause I had to. Like, shiny doodads were falling off my clothes and I had to reattach them. Hence I had to learn to sew. I have no idea how to even turn on a sewing machine, so I don't bother. And I don't care enough to learn either.

Ackthingfeth was a word like that. I was getting hyper over...I'm pretty sure it was Winslow, and I just uttered it. And it became a word. Volia! I'm so proud of it now.

I'm a bit...feral, so hisses and growls come naturally. It's weird. I'm like that. And I'm really wary of being touched, except by people I really trust. And even then it makes me get all defensive to a certain extent. And I freak out if I wake up to my bedroom door open, like I expect somebody or something to come in and...try to kill me if they see it open or something. I'm kind of really in touch with my primitive beast. xd

Wow, we've gotten pretty off topic. So...uh...what was your favorite scene in PotP?
