Kasey smiled weakly and set down the paper, noticing now that it was just an advertisement, albeit a very wordy one.
As she walked over to Tyler, pressing himself up against a wall, she could feel her shield melting around her, could almost feel it leaving pools and puddles of emotion behind her as she walked, leaving thick tell-tale trails on her face. She began to feel more vulnerable, more exposed.

Kenna pressed her face into Ian's hand. She felt that if she left, if everyone just forgot about her that their lives would be better. She looked up at him. "I want to put it to a vote." she told him. "Somehow, I think it may be a tie, Kasey and I will most likely agree and you and Tyler will...Marisa will be our tie breaker." she finished, heaving a great sigh. She and Kasey had never been the good friends she had wanted them to be, so chances were, she wasn't going to fight to keep her around. "I just have to do what's best for our family." she said honestly, for they were a family...the only family most of them had ever really known.

Ian sighed, and backed up from her. "You already know my vote, though I guess it doesn't really mean much to you."

Tyler finally decided to show himself. "Hey,hey,hey. Dont count yourself out that fast Ian." He smiled to Ian then looked at Kenna. "Why do you want to leave? Even if it would be less complicated Without you...I couldnt care less."

Kasey, hearing her name, now directed her full conversation. What am I agreeing about? she wondered. Tyler began to talk to Kenna and this became too much for Kasey. "I'm, eh...I'm going to check on Marisa," she murmured. She accidentally caught a look at Tyler which caused her to smile a brief, weak smile before walking too quickly to the playroom.

Kenna looked up to see Kasey walking away, smiling. This was apparently going to be harder than she thought. "Tyler, Ian." she said, focusing her attention on both of them. "I know you think things will be fine if I stay here, but I am afraid of hurting, or worse, losing you both. You have been my only friends my entire life. I don't want to ruin that." she said with a sigh. "Kasey already hates me, she won't even enter a room if I am present. I think, well, I think it would be in the best interest of the group if I got lost for a little while." she told them. "And Ian, you do matter. Both of you mean the world to me, and so does your opinion." she added.

Ian smiled softly. "If our opinions matter so much, then why are you so dead set on opposing us?"

Kenna smiled slightly and blushed a little. "I'm not dead set on opposing you. I just want it to be fair, that everyone have their say in the matter." she replied.

Ian nodded. "Kasey's taking care of Marisa at the moment, so you'll have to wait for a little bit. Why don't you lie down on my bed, and take a nap until she's ready."

Kenna nodded, feeling the drowsiness overtake her. She laid down on Ian's bed, realizing that she was getting sick. She sighed, "I guess this is one more reason to avoid the snow." she said.

Ian sat beside her on the bed. "And another reason you shouldn't be in any hurry to leave." He placed the back of his hand on her forehead. She was slightly warm. "I think we caught this early. Tyler," he turned to the boy in the doorway, "go downstairs into the kitchen and see if we have anymore orange juice and cold medicine left."

"If its for Kenna then...Be right back." He dashed to the Kitchen and poured a glass of orange juice. Then checked the medicine cabinet. "ok.... now to get these to kenna." He mumbled to himself as he walked back to the room

Kenna sat up. She felt terrible, and even more so because she knew that the medicine could be better used on them. She hated the idea of Marisa getting sick, especially being so young. It could really hurt her. She thought to herself, deciding quickly that she would find some more medicine for them soon. She had never been on any sort of "raid" but she didn't figure it would be too hard. When Tyler came back in the room, she smiled at him a little. "I'm really sorry. I don't know what's wrong with my head right now. I know leaving is not the way to go, I would be so lonely without all of your company. Sometimes, I just think it would be in the best interest of us all if I did."
